Good looking pub located in close proximity to Ickworth. We went for Sunday lunch. Service was ok though many staff seemed inexperienced or not much incentive to care (slow, seen on mobile rather than checking on you). Roast wasn’t the best, veggie basket (the only veg option) was ok but very small. Stuffing or cabbage not to our taste, broccoli raw. Dessert was slightly better but also disappointing - for a nice looking pub we expected more on food quality, but was let down and won’t return.

Wonderful pub. Super friendly service and very accommodating. Don't have a specific kids menu but offered to accommodate our toddler with fish fingers, ended up getting her a starter portion of ravioli. They gave her a little fork to eat it with and she loved it. I'm sure they would have done a smaller portion of sausages if asked as super helpful. Food was great value for money, great quality produce and delicious.

Lovely family run pub, with amazing food. Little choice, not sire, because it was off-season, but only 2 mains, and few starters, classic burgers, and few salads. But one of the mains: fish and chips: TOP QUALITY! I would even dare to say that was one of the best I have ever had!

We had the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had. The beef was overcooked, the brocoli was so old it was yellow/brown and the gravy like dishwater. Cheap supermarket wine. Owner has replied we were rude. We definitely were not. We had no problem at all with the young staff just the quality of food. We did not discuss with anyone but paid and left. We're still laughing at his response.

Dropped at opening time on Tuesday and Landlady was very welcoming. Had a nice chat whilst deciding what to eat. Food was great and served and fairly prompt( no.mean feat as she was serving and cooking that evening) The evening was warm so we ate in the garden - its a real sun trap as the sun goes down. Thank you very much for an enjoyable visit. We will return.

Very surprised and pleased! The chicken jalfrezi curry was very tasty and to be honest, I thought better than some of the curries I've had from restaurants in town. Kobold lager from Adnams was a bonus too! The classic fish and chips was tasty, so all in all, a nice, value for money Saturday night down the pub. A thumbs up from me 👍

The waitress was very friendly and chatty. The starters were fine, they were the best bit of the food we ate. Then we had the mains and two of our party chose the beef burger. I can honestly say it was the worst burger I have ever eaten. It was like someone had taken a cheap beef burger, had grilled it for far too long till it was chard and then had put it away for few days and had decided to microwave it for our dinner. It tasted like cardboard. The "chips" were and tasted like cheap french fries again from a supermarket. I was really shocked anyone would serve that to customers. We were being treated to this dinner. We were very hungry and ate most of what was on our place. You can eat almost anything with mayo and ketchup. Both myself and the other person who ate a burger spoke out about how bad the burger meat was. However it was decided jointly that I would not voice my opinion to the waitress as to not cause our friends embarrassments. If it had only been me, I would have sent that burger back to the kitchen. But it wasn't' and so I did what we collectively decided. I go and write a review. Needless to say, I will not eat there again.

We've called in here for lunch mid ride out a few times now, the chap behind the bar is anyways really friendly and wished us a safe ride back home today which was nice. Good food (mushroom stroganoff was really nice!) and a nice selection of drinks (although anyways lime and sodas for us mind!). Nice wee garden, cosy restaurant area and a proper pool room - ideal mix for a traditional pub :)

I consider £11.50 for a burger and few 'chips' very poor value. The burger was tasteless, the chips were over done and hard, they went cold very quickly. The beer tasted as though the pipes needed a good clean through. Really not a very good experience overall and will definitely not be trying it again.

Went for breakfast. The picture in the window looked pretty good. When it arrived it was disappointing the fried eggs were really runny under cooked the sausages looked like road kill shriveled up and dry everything else was warm not hot Sent it back to kitchen. When it came back all they had done is kept the same eggs just turned them over and fried them a bit more until they were over cooked I can't comment on the coffee that I had ordered as it never arrived No wonder they take your money when you order Could not eat and left.

The quality of service is usually good and then today I met the owners and they charged me for an extra tea with my breakfast of which I usually get for free but the owners was insistence I will no longer be using the business I recommend using the carver cafe in town better service and more for your money been using this business for like 2 years maybe more tbh and spent thousands with them so to be treated like this is the last straw for me cups ant even clean
