Used trip advisor to search for good fish & chips while staying in Eastbourne for a weekend. Some places had awful reviews! And I hate too much grease. Found this one and drove to try it. Food was delicious, fresh and crispy … barely any grease. We had cod, chips, & chicken nuggets as a family and highly recommend all!
I don't know Oxford and have never been to the covered market before, so I had no idea where to go. Of course Google Maps reviews was my first port of call but it seemed everywhere was highly rated - no bad thing, but it didn't help me choose. So I decided to literally (well actually) follow my nose, I only had half an hour and it'd taken 5 minutes to get to the covered market, so I had a quick walk around and as soon as I got near to Alpha Bar it smelled very good, and there was a bit of a queue... now, I was short on time, but a bit of a queue is usually a good sign, and this was proved correct when shortly after joining the queue I was served - they got through orders quickly but I didn't feel rushed. I ordered the Chicken Panang Curry from the specials board (although everything looked good) and it was worth the short wait, very fresh and tasty, whole chicken in the mix which I was a fan of, very juicy and tender. Only marked down for atmosphere as there's no inside to eat, just a couple of small tables outside in quite a busy walkway. However, it did the job and I was finished and back where I needed to be with a few minutes to spare. Overall it was a very nice way to fill a half hour lunch break and my belly.
This cafe was so lovely! From the beautiful decor to the fab service, me and my mum were so impressed! We were both served quickly- we had toasties and a hot drink each, which tasted delicious, and the plates that the food was served on had a lovely flowery design.
Also, the toilets were clean and nicely decorated.
If your passing or staying at the services at South Mimms don't bother eating there go to the Black Horse. People were friendly and staff very welcoming. Food was lovely and well worth the money. We will definitely be back.
Lovely cafe. My husband and I had coffees and cake. Both were delicious. The meals being served to other customers looked very good. Next time we will visit for a main meal. The cafe is dog friendly...while we were there, people brought in their dogs...seven in all.

It's a great place for eat in or take away. Amazing falafel wraps served with plenty of options - both veg and non-veg. The best part is that it is the most affordable tummy full food one can get in the town.
Ashfields far exceeded our expectations. Friendly, welcoming servers and outstanding food. Every effort was made to ensure we had a positive dining experience and I would definitely recommend a visit. Excited to see what the 2024/25 programme of events has to offer.

Travelling across to the Lake District we were looking for somewhere to eat relatively near the A66 that welcomed families and dogs. We happened to find the Three Greyhounds on line and were really pleased we did. It’s a lovely warm, welcoming pub with fantastic food. Our kids loved the pizzas and we had sausages and mash & the steak pie. The portion size was just right and the meals were delicious. We’d definitely recommend a visit!
