Cafe In The Courtyard in Denbighshire

I love this place the staff are super friendly and helpful,,they cater for a wide range of customers (I am a Ceoliac so have to be careful when eating out) the food is amazing home cooked quality, they also have doggie sausages too so our “prince” is well fed as well ! I would rate this place at 5 stars just because it’s a friendly,well maintained, great food and it’s a little sun trap on a nice day !

Please don’t judge this place by the plastic windbreak out front or the slightly unassuming exterior — The Courtyard Cafe in Llangollen is an absolute delight and deserves a queue down the street. The food is good, old-school comfort — cottage pie, lasagne, paninis, jacket potatoes (with great vegetarian versions of all of the above!) — the kind of things you think you could make at home, but somehow never this well. Every dish is cooked with care, generously portioned, and seriously delicious. The cakes are showstoppers. The prices? Inexplicably reasonable. One incredible woman seems to run the whole thing — cooking downstairs, serving upstairs, and still managing to be kind and patient. She also sells handmade knitting, crochet crafts, and Nordic socks for £2.50(?!), because apparently she’s also a wizard. No, it doesn't look like a trendy Instagram café. There are no Edison bulbs or ironic menus. But if you're looking for a warm, homemade meal in a place that actually feels human, this is it. Walk in. You’ll be glad you did.

Cosy little coffee shop.in the heart of Llangollen. Sat outside in the sun. Excellent coffee both taste and price. Recommended.

Hot chocolate was good lots of cream and marshmallows would eat again

We went in today for breakfast and it was lovely. We just had the standard breakfast which was excellent for the money and very filling. We will definitely be going in again next time we're in Llangollen.

Very poor experience. With my wife we wanted to order yet - been asked to leave, quite impolite because our kids had some chips

If you are gluten free you must eat here. Food was great the size of the meal was great made you feel like you are normal.... Loved the toasties so filling and the coffee is great

The service was excellent even though extremely busy. Food was very moorish. The atmosphere was lovely and friendly. Next time having some of that chocolate cake.

We had coffee and standard breakfast and both were delicious, breakfast was very filling and the coffee was very good, not often do you find good food with good tasting coffee too! Love this little gem of a place and the staff were great and friendly too. Highly recommend a visit!

Lovely little hidden gem of a cafe sporting a great menu and specials, as well as a full vegan and gluten free menu! Really glad we stumbled upon it! Also very dog friendly

Really pleasant little friendly cafe with seating inside, under cover, and open air. Extensive dedicated gluten free and vegan menus. Very fairly priced tasty food in nice surroundings. Dog friendly too. Can't really ask for much more.

A hidden gem in the small tourist town of Llangollen. This tea room is in a courtyard through an alley, just off the main Street. Both indoor and outdoor seating, along with its own bookshop. They take both cards and cash. I had a delicious lemon scone, topped with lemon curd and fresh cream. A lovely variation on the traditional scone and jam etc. The scone was soft on the inside and golden on the outside and a very decent size. We will certainly return to this tea room.

This has to be the hidden gem cafe of Llangollen. Really good food choice, super portions and lovely staff. Lots of hearty homecooked grub. We will be straight back here next time we visit!

Lovely courtyard setting . Great food but young lady serving is very immature and bickers with her colleagues in between serving customers. Not great atmosphere. Shame as the chef works so hard and food is great. Perhaps she’ll tell the young waitress to be more professional.

Lucky find. Homemade quiche and lasagne were both super, plenty of good fresh salad too. Cakes looked lovely but we didn't have room to try them. 😁

Coffee and cake, good service, large portion

Called in while visiting Llangollen.. Only had toast and cake and drinks. All lovely and obviously home made. Everyone's plates looked yummy.

I cannot fault this cafe at all. Have travelled to llangollen the last week or so (20/8/21) 3 times. When we want dinner this is the cafe we head to lovely food and staff that are very friendly. Dog friendly also.
