Fantastic. Well prepared and highly quality food.

The food is good but the hours are extremely limited. Even those limited hours are not adhered to. They regularly close 30 mins before the stated time.

the tofu korma makes me enjoy being vegetarian

Bought a veggie lunch here that was amazing. Two salads, tofu, hummus and seeds. It was delicious. I meant to take a photo but started eating it and then it was too late. Great value at £6.50!

Absolutely amazing spot for quick healthy delicious lunch.

Choose and mix and match, salad, main and topper. Lots to choose from from and many vegan options. Very tasty and healthy food. So many flavours. Lentils, grains, salad and veg. Tofu and goats cheese, fish, houmous etc. Very filling and tasty lunch. It’s takeaway but it’s nice to sit in the indoor market on the tables there.

A quick bowl of one of the day’s hot specials (meltingly tender beef and quince) on a cold afternoon before a university church service really hit the spot. You get two salads, a sauce, and a topping too. It’s cheaper than Pieminister!

Huge queues at midday because it's excellent. Options run low by 2pm. If you're in the covered market for lunch come here if you want equivalent price non-sandwich lunch. Hot food options always great too. A reasonable price for great taste and amount of food offered.

Got a huge salad box filled with healthy and tasty goodies like pasta, broccoli, tofu, falafel and chickpeas with great dressings and flavourings

Lovely vegetarian lunch - very tasty and excellent value. Had a vegan chickpea dish with delicious lentil salad and a little hummus to garnish. Really very good. Lovely sevice too.

I absolutely love the food here - I come literally every day for lunch because it’s so filling and delicious. I’m a student, so going out for lunch is quite extravagant, but this place has great value for money so I think it’s worth it. Everything is yummy and there’s something to everyone’s taste - it’s also super vegetarian friendly. Definitely stop by if you’re in Oxford or looking for a healthy and tasty meal!

We went for lunch and the food was great!! However they dis not have enough veggie option so had to choose meat option which was also quite great! After we finished we wanted to recycle but there was no option around the store so having recycling option will be great. Great price as well! Will be back :)

My go to for lunch in central oxford. Very generous portions of fresh, healthy, delicious, predominantly vegan food. There is a mix of hot and cold options, and the changing specials menu make returning here a treat! Very friendly staff. Highly recommended

I love this place!!! So delicious, very friendly staff who happily gave us recommendations and excellent value. For a small box of salad you get two salads (highly recommend the quinoa, a ‘main’ (eg goats cheese, feta, falafel, chicken) sauce (eg pesto, hummus, etc) all for just £5 veggie option or £5.50 meaty option. Insane value as the portion is HUGE. Couldn’t believe how much goats cheese and feta there was. Can’t wait to go back- if I lived in Oxford I’d be there for lunch everyday!!

Came to Alpha Bar for the third time today. One of, if not the best, spots for people who like funky salads, I think. You're spoilt for choice with all the gorgeous options. I get a medium veggie salad, and I'm always full after. Will be returning.

Reopened after lockdown, and I couldn't be happier that the best lunch spot in Oxford is serving their incredible food again.

Intenté Alpha Bar por primera vez hoy pensando que no estaría a la altura de las exageraciones que escuchas de muchos estudiantes, pero fue absolutamente delicioso. Fui por el pollo caliente especial - buen tamaño de porción, increíble comida de degustación con muchas opciones para elegir, y un servicio realmente amable. The Covered Market内。ランチタイムには長い列！！！長い列には意味があると思い列に並ぶ。私は注文したのはメイン、サイド、トッピングを各1つ選んでいくもの。メイン、サイドも日替わりの様子。メニュー黒板にて確認を。前の人が1つのサイドのサラダをハーフ＆ハーフにしているのをみて、私も頼んでみたらやってくれた。ランチボックスに手際よく注文したものが入っていく。箱の中ですべて一緒になることは覚悟を！手頃な価格でなかなか美味しい！！店の横に少しテーブルとイスはあったが埋まっているのでテイクアウトでどこか公園などでたべるとよいかと！

In my top 5 places to grab food in oxford, very reasonably priced and friendly staff. All take away food though, wish they had a bigger place with seating.

I sometimes find it difficult / confusing when not ordering set meals from menus, but they could see my nervousness and were really nice and helpful. I got organic beef chili with brown rice topped with cheese and a chive yoghurt dressing. Man, this is seriously tasty and the portion sizes are great. Definitely recommend, so do yourself a favour and go

This salad stall offers large portions for around 5 pounds. The pesto dressing is super yummy! On a sunny day you can easily find a spot to eat outdoors.

If you want a fast, healthy, filling and delicious lunch, I'd normally say you'd probably only manage 3 out of 4 at best - until I found this place. Portion sizes are fantastic, prices are more than reasonable and you won't be left wanting another snack afterwards. Try the spicy chickpea tagine if you swing by, or a salad box if you fancy something cold. Really can't go wrong with this place.

Just perfect! This large box with 3 delicious salads (lentils, quinoa and veggies), falafel, feta, olive tapenade and seeds for just 6£. Every ingredient was super tasty. And what I find amazing is that this allows you to eat healthy even when you don’t have time to cook!

Alpha Bar is great for a quick lunch to go on a sunny day - there’s a wide variety of salad options and the portions are decent sized given it’s £4.50 for a small salad. Would recommend.

Lots of variety, I love their green salad with mint sauce, and the barley one as well. There are some small tables round the corner. The staff are friendly and courtesy. Next time when you are in Oxford go and try it yourself. Very good value for your money.

Came across this Lil Gem in the covered market and the salad looked so good we jus had to have one! The only problem was that everything on the menu was so tempting I wanted to try it all :) I ended up choosing a veggie option and I’m so glad I did because the falafel was devine! They also offer a side of Aubergine dip which I highly recommend! Not to mention the portion size which are so generous they will satisfy even the hungriest of us! A must try if you fancy a cold salad on a warm day!

Tasty, healthy food with multiple vegan options (and even cake!). Been a few times and it's always great and the staff are friendly. The cake has always been the same every time though (maybe coincidence, but it would be great to have some different ones!). Good value for the amount you get.

Delicious salads made to order plus a mixture of different hot and cold foods served daily. Always includes a great vegetarian selection, so long as you get there before it sells out! Often incredibly long queues at lunchtime, and prices are a little high for what you get, but otherwise a great lunchtime venue.

My favourite place in the whole of Oxford town! Trendy, fun, and full of falafel. Yummy! Big shout out to the cool girl with the short blonde hair - what a bae! She told me a pun about lettuce and we laughed and laughed. 10/10 would go again.

In a city and country where food can be really pricey in any restaurant, Alpha Bar offered a really good valued meal. I went there for lunch and picked up one of the specials they had on the day. The price was... well cheap (like £5 or something). The food was healthy & tasted good; the portion was generous.

I had a large salad box, and a creamy chicken dish with sliced potatoes, both were winners. Great value for money. I like to eat and was adequately fed. Perfect healthy grub on the go. Great little place. You choose a main, 2 sides and a topping. The mains are a mixture of vegetarian, vegan and meat. The food is fresh, really tasty and fresh. Ideal for a lunch. I didn't have room for a cake which was a bit sad...
