The best restaurants serving Turkish food in England

Customary wonderful food together with exemplary, cheerful service. Starters (mixed maze and sauteed liver) were both superb and main courses (meaty including et sote) even better. Booze is keenly priced too.

Good unpretentious Greek / Mediterranean food. Nice people, good food, cold beer. Some of the translations are a little dubious, so beware. I had "Chicken on the bonnet" - Smell chokers have a lot to answer for!

I’m too hungry to write well. But this is only the second time EVER that I have been to a restaurant that served our table NO FOOD. We arrived before 6pm and were shown to the basement - often not a good sign. We placed our order just after 6 and had to leave to get to the match by 7.20. There was no food by then. The poor waitress kept saying “five minutes” but was clearly getting nowhere. Of course it was down to really terrible management. And aggressive with it. Apparently we should have understood that it was a bit of a lottery whether any food would be served: the manager pointed proudly to two other tables where people had had to leave without getting any food at all. Clearly Gem was trying to profiteer off hungry fans and accepted every booking, even when the management must have known they were completely unable to serve everyone. I suppose it was a risk worth taking for the restaurant - just not for the customers. Gem by name but not by performance or attitude. Will buy some halloumi on the way home…

We were 5 of us and had a relaxing lunch in a modern restaurant on a damp and rainy day. The bonus was 25% discount with a voucher we presented.

Ordered a chicken keebab box with chilli & garlic sauce. Chicken skewers cold Salad swimming in water only noticeable after eating the top layer. Off putting. Definitely not the fresh salad you used to serve What a waste of money

disappointed, been 3 times and it’s been consistent. No sauce, so food is very dry…. But if you wish to pay £7 for garlic yogurt as a starter. Erm shouldn’t you get a small 2/3 sauces to go with your meal? I asked the 3 times if there were any sauces that come with the mixed grill £££.

What a wonderful experience! The moment we walked through the door we were warmly welcomed. It was a warm day so it was good to have the air conditioning. The staff were lovely and the food was truly amazing! I wish I lived in Hastings I'd go back every week!! Thank you so much, it was one of the best meals I've ever had x

Reserve este restaurante para el 50 cumpleaños de mi esposa para 18 amigos y familiares, Llamé con 10 días de antelación y hablé con una señora maravillosa llamada Elina, ella fue muy útil para ayudarme a organizar esta noche especial y me explicó todo lo que necesitaba saber por teléfono. Entró a pagar un depósito y habló con Stella y ella vas también muy educado y profesional. Llegué en el día y el restaurante estaba muy ocupado y se las arreglaron para conseguir sentarnos y comida a nuestra mesa lo antes posible. Diría que la comida era buena, el entretenimiento era excelente y el servicio era brillante. No estaba seguro de reservar este restaurante a partir de la lectura de algunas de las críticas, sin embargo, sin duda recomendaría este lugar para esa noche especial! El aparcamiento está disponible detrás del restaurante y es gratuito después de las 6. ¡30 pm también!

Oh my, where do I even start. In Jan 2024 my Husband and I decided we wanted to have a small(ish) wedding and looked into hiring out a restaurant if possible, as opposed to a traditional venue. We came across Sortie Grill and from first telephone call to discuss our options to arranging face to face meetings with the floor manager; Mr Essien - everyone was absolutely amazing! My Husband and I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the EXCEPTIONAL job the team did in hosting our wedding reception on the 18th November 2024. My family members went a tad bit earlier on the day to set up decorations and were running a bit behind due to the weather. Mr Essien and the rest of the team were super helpful in going out of their way to assist with the set up. We also hired Jade - their regular singer who was AMAZING. Both the restaurant and singer made our special day even more memorable. The entire staff worked hard, were super professional and provided such warm hospitality. The outstanding service and PHENOMENAL food well exceeded our expectations - portion sizes were amazing. All our guests were STUFFED and are still raving about the wonderful food, ambiance and experience the team provided. We had about 13 tables with guests and everyone received their food literally around the same time - no complaints whatsoever. Once again, we are so grateful for the care and dedication the team brought to making our celebration perfect. We will 100% be back very soon and will be recommending Sortie Grill to family and friends for the foreseeable future! PS - If you're considering a private hire, whether it's the whole restaurant or just their rooms, DO IT. You will not regret it! Thanks once again Sortie Grill Team for all your help and hard work.
