The best restaurants serving Tapas food in South West

We were very lucky to get a pavement table for the lunch service as a walk-in. The staff manage the magic trick of making everything relaxed and easy whilst juggling a full restaurant. The food was absolutely beautiful, you can see all the attention to the little details like the olives and the flatbread. We could definitely go back and order the other half of the menu. A hidden jewel! What a magnificent find, who would have thought there would be a restaurant of this standard in a small coastal town like Paignton! Excellent food at very reasonable prices, fantastic view of the harbour with a great atmosphere and excellent service from Helen and all the staff. We will definitely be back even though it is a 90 minute drive from home.

Unfortunately both the service and food at The Bank were well below what one could reasonably expect from a restaurant of this type. The service was exceptionally slow and the food was more than a little overcooked - and this, with drinks for £100+ for three covers. The Restaurant Manager was apologetic but words are, as they say - easy. We shall not be returning and from the less than full occupancy others have clearly already made that decision.

Fantastic Cafe, with great food cooked with flair and attention to detail, the crispy sea bass is a triumph, magnificent, thank you chef. The tapas menu is a marvel of distinct flavours and textures, all delicious without exception. Be amazed by the spiced cauliflower. The tapas menu does change, so look out for exciting new dishes. 2025 Charred Hispi cabbage, stupendous!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Six members of our family went to Cbay for a pre-Christmas dinner as one would be out of the country on Christmas Day. We had a fabulous meal, everything cooked to perfection, tasty and plenty of everything. It was the first day of the Christmas menu and five of us made our choices from the excellent selection provided apart from one who had the lovely fish and chips. The waiter service was excellent too and that contributed to a brilliant family night out at Cbay.

Pedimos una variedad de platos pequeños, todo estaba delicioso! El personal es simplemente gente amable normal y no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted. Tuvimos un gran tiempo. Lo que es realmente agradable de este lugar, aparte de la comida fabulosa es el ambiente. Estábamos charlando con otros clientes. ¡Todos estaban contentos!

Lilico’s used to be one of my favourite dinner spots in Barnstaple. The tapas dishes were amazing and there was always a good atmosphere so when a friend suggested we go here with our partners for dinner we thought we’d give it a go, first time since it has been taken over by someone else and well let’s just say it will also be the last. Food was bland, probably the worst I have ever had. Cocktail menu was boring. Staff were miserable. And it was dead in there. Such a shame that Lilicos has been ran down into the ground.

Friendly welcome and lovely interior. Menu didn't state if cakes were suitable for vegetarians and the server had to ask. On her return stated that they only had eggs and milk in them but didn't know if they included gelatine so had to ask again. Cappuccino coffees weren't very hot but were served in proper coffee cups. Had a Dubai chocolate bar cake, but thought it was very similar to a kit kat. Will visit again but will make sure to ask for coffees to be hot, and will try different cakes as they looked good.

Very loud and crowded for dine in but the service and food were tasty but not necessarily unique.

Let me get my only real gripe out of the way right upfront. During my stay I had the Mangalitsa Pork and Vegetable Pie. It was the most bland - tasteless plate of food that I have ever eaten. Horrible. So, overall The Pig On The Beach is superbly located overlooking The Old Harry Rocks at Studland. Stunning. It is hard to find a less than enthusiastic team member. My room was very clean and I enjoyed my stay. Plenty of after dinner cosy corners for a drink although some people thought that bar prices were a little high! A good hotel.

La comida era muy agradable, pero desde el principio, la camarera era miserable y grosero. Cuando llegó la factura, fue grosera con mi amigo cuando dijo que no podía leer la máquina de lectura de tarjetas. Lástima porque la comida era preciosa pero arruinó la noche...

Lovely pastries and coffee, the lunch options are always interesting and always delicious. Out the back is a nice light seating area too.
