Amazing spot for a date or friends night, we were kindly taken care by the staff, even with a big bday being celebrated at the same time in the other room. Lovely food that mix different flavours and also almost every dish was gluten free. The interior is cozy and different from any others that we’ve been, totally recommended!!

Todos probamos varias tapas y todo fue maravilloso. ¿Un servicio amable y agradable del hombre irlandés? Alan, perdón si me equivoqué de nombre. Gran vino, bebidas y postre. Otra ventaja era que como no había más reservas para nuestra mesa nos permitieron permanecer el tiempo que quisiéramos, normalmente es un espacio de 2 horas, ya que no los vemos a menudo esto fue brillante. My mum came down to visit me and I’m very glad I found this place! Really cute hidden place in Clifton. Great atmosphere very quirky and had amazing service waiter was very enthusiastic and friendly. The food was all delicious particularly recommend the risotto and the trio of dips, but all was great! Have recommended to friends :)

Im a chef and this place is 10/10. The food is amazing. Service is brilliant and friendly. Decor is fun and refreshing. Manager was lovely and gave really good information on how carefully and refined the food is sourced.

We've been here a few times now. Lovely food. It's sad to see the outside booths gone. It just added a little extra for us. Great service, a little quiet in there, but it was early.

We came to the on the quay location for a date night in the sun. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Alissa in particular really made our evening and joined in on our table banter. The food as always was delicious and the drinks were of a high standard. Couldn’t recommend this place enough as a little piece of holiday in our home city.

I love the concept of this restaurant. As well as their normal menu, they have a menu that changes monthly with dishes from a new country each month. The country of the month when I was there was Cape Verde. I had three tapas and a dessert. All the dishes were good. Service was friendly though a tad slow because one waiter was serving the entire restaurant which was mostly full while I was there.

Once again I have bought my lovely girlfriend on another date in bristol, this time I let her choose and to my pleasure she chose new moon. What can I say, food 10/10, drinks 10/10 and staff 10/10. The waiter on the night seemed to be handling everything to a high degree, even though he was the only floor staff of the night. He made excellent recommendations for after meal drinks, as-well as making us off menu cocktails which he got bang on. It’s crazy how much a connection with a waiter can enhance your experience. Me and my girlfriend had the most lovely night, and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommend for an intimate dining experience, with incredible food and drinks. 10/10

With so many venue to choose in Clifton Village New Moon Tapas would be easy to pass by, as it's right next door to the flashy Ivy. We were able to book for early evening for a Saturday night. The venue is only tiny, no more than 20 seats maybe, split between up and downstairs. They specialise in world wide tapas with a changing country for the special for each month. We kept our order quite traditional, prawns, calamari, chorizo, thai chicken etc but all were cooked perfectly and delicious. Some of the best tapas we've tried. Definitely worth a visit but do book as they are so small

We are visiting Clifton and found this tapas bar on Google and as we walked past it looked inviting. The menu was very impressive, and the quality of the dishes was excellent. We were sad when the meal was over! The one man show serving was also brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine, some great options at reasonable prices and the bottle that we tried was so special and we have saved the name of it to see if we can order some at home (Hungarian Red). We also had a desert wine which was lovely and a generous portion. We brought our dog who was welcomed (though he is small and well behaved). A lovely little restaurant, we would certainly bring friends/family/colleagues who we would like to impress.

Top Quality Tapas in a nice intimate setting. The food was excellent quality and they change their menu to different cuisine throughout the year, we went for the main courses as we were hungry, but recommend ordering 2 main courses. Prices were reasonable and staff were attentive and professional

2nd time of visiting. Last time was lovely and it's always a worry when you go back wondering if it will be as good as the last time. Well they didn't disappoint. The food was exceptional. We ordered aubergine rolls with goats cheese and walnut mousse, it was so so good we ordered it again. We had 7 dishes and a dessert each and drinks and the bill at the end was good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Lovely vibe at this small Clifton village Tapas Restaurant. Regularly updated menu with many Tapas dishes based on different countries local cuisine. We sampled Mozambican on the evening of our visit - not a region of the world’s cuisine we had previously sampled. Portions are typical Tapas, on the smaller side, so best order 2-3 each. This made it perfect for our party with a variety of appetites, but who nevertheless appreciated really inspired (and inspiring) nutritious food. Each dish emanating from what looked like a Tapas-size kitchen, was cooked to perfection . Service attentive (even when extremely busy). Bravo.

Second time I have visited here. Lovely small intimate restaurant. Make sure you book in advance I prefer sitting downstairs all the lights are so cool! Every dish is different and delicious. Great to order a few plates and share. Service is amazing, highly recommend. I will be booking again when I return to Bristol

Nice little place. Friendly staff, but it is expensive for what it offers.

Food was so so good. The plantain Peruvian special was delicious (with a chilli sauce that I hope to replicate at home) as was every other dish. The staff were great and the mocktail that was made for my partner was lovely and zingy. We left very very happy! We will be back :)

Unfortunately last night was a very disappointing experience for us at the New Moon Tapas. Having had cocktails here a few weeks ago which was a positive experience, we thought we would book a Saturday night table for food. We arrived at were sat promptly, thats where the ok service ended. The menus were almost thrown at, the waiter was clearly in a rush. Four people arrived and sat immediately to our side, then two more people arrived and sat immediately behind us. Both parties were given menus and an menu explanation, unlike us. We thought thats a bit strange. Both waiters we assume then dissapeared to the kitchen. When the waiter returned he started taking a food order for the four people next to us that arrived after us. I brought what had happened to the attention of the waiter, despite him apologising, he came across as insincere and argumentative. We live in Clifton there are many good places with a great service so we decided to eat elsewhere. We eat out a lot, from our experience, when a service starts this bad it normally ends in the same manner. Sorry not for me on what was suppose to be a romantic evening out!

Wasn’t overly impressed about the food. No wow-factor and server didn’t check back. However, Andy who was running the food service was amazing and the reason why we stayed for more drinks after. We love Andy

Delicious food in a wonderful Harbourside setting. We had a couple of fabulous tapas each to share & an amazing dessert which were served by a really friendly group of staff, a special shout out to Nick who was great - I’m a local & with so many brilliant options near by I can still say this is a real find!, thanks for a great evening, We’ll be back v soon : )

Found this place randomly on Google maps and thought I'd give it a try with a visiting friend. It was a really excellent experience from start to finish. It's a small restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere inside - quirky chic decor, dimmed lighting and 'smart cocktail bar' music playing in the background. The waiter was so friendly in a natural way, and really looked after us during the meal (water refilled without having to ask kind of service). The food was superb, our favourites being the coconut chicken, king prawns, the pea risotto, and the aubergine goats cheese rolls. In truth there wasn't one dish that we had that wasn't delicious, only that the calamari was a tiny bit chewy. Chose three dishes and that was enough to have us just full. For dessert I had the crepe Suzette and again this was so tasty. The price was about £40 per head which I think was reasonable (service included). Overall a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be returning.

We dined here last night and really enjoyed our evening. The service was excellent, staff are very attentive. It's a cosy little place, ideal for a date night. We ended up ordering 10 dishes but that's only because my husband has a big appetite! Normal people like me would be happy with 3 and a dessert.

We found New Moon at the last minute, with no prior knowledge and honestly couldn't have chosen better! Food was superb, cocktails delicious and the service was so friendlyfrom Nick who greeted us to the lovely bar and serving staff. Tapas from all around the world is a wonderful idea - so much selection. A really cosy atmosphere and we found ourselves telling people waiting for a table that it was definitely worth the wait. When we return to Bristol, we'll be back. Thank you for a really memorable evening!

Ordered 12 dishes for 4 of us absolutely delicious, every single one but favourite was the stunningly tasty lamb cutlets, and the spare ribs ! More than enough food for my husband and I plus my son and his fellow student friend. Very friendly service and efficient. Highly recommend a real treat.

New moon is some of the best Tapas in Bristol. Every month is a new cultural experience (they choose a new part of the world for half the menu every 4 weeks) but honestly it doesn’t matter when you go, the food is spectacular, the atmosphere is superb. Fantastic restaurant. I’m over the new moon.

The style of the restaurant was quite quirky but interesting. We ate here on a Sunday lunchtime so it was quite quiet. I would imagine on a Friday or Saturday evening it would have a great atmosphere, particularly if the sun was shining. The outside seating area is really lovely and has a Mediterranean feel about it and the bonus is that the restaurant overlooks the water. The service was fabulous, Nick was very attentive but not intrusive and spoke about the food and drink with confidence.The menu was informative and the food itself was extremely good. I would highly recommend the slow cooked pork, it was to die for. However, all of the food we ordered was really tasty and promptly served. We ordered about 8 or 9 dishes and that was more than enough for 3 hungry adults. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and would highly recommend a visit if you are in Bristol.

Tried New Moon for the first time this evening with my partner, food was some of the best tasting tapas I’ve eaten in Bristol, especially the chorizo! Cocktails were amazing too. It was very busy but the staff still made us feel very welcome and were very funny the atmosphere is very chilled and quirky! Loved it!! Thanks to Sergio for the laughs too!! Will be back over the harbour festival!!

Booked restaurant whilst on a stop over in Bristol, started off well, seated quickly and ordered, no lager to begin with (no issues ordered something else). Food started to come out and was average at best, nice but nothing to shout home about. then service stopped, staff looked busy doing nothing, walked past 20 times whilst plates were mounting up, only two tables to be served at this point and two members of staff seeing to us, attempted to get another drink, but coffee machine wasn't working and they'd just sold us there last bit of gin, paid and left. The 12.5% service charge was the worst thing, especially as the service was the worst part of our visit. Overall not a good experience and wouldn't recommend

Really poor food, VERY poor service and attitude from servers. Wish we'd gone to Bar44 (which is stunning!) or Giggling Squid. A real shame and waste of money.

Absolutely awfull ,rude waitress,very expensive, food cooked with microwave, tapas came out one dish at a time ordered 4 dishes ,1st dish came out before drink which took 45 minutes to arrive ,ordered another cocktail and they didn't have same ingredients so just give me what they had without asking if it was OK, Absolutely don't and would never recommend this place ,need a total shake up ,only thing going for it was in a nice spot

The food was incredibly varied, creative and delicious. Its a great format offering sharing platters from foods from around the world. Four us us really enjoyed tasting the different dishes and sharing our opinions with each other. It made for a really fun evening. The Baba Ganoush, cod, pork belly, chicken curry and aubergine curry were our favorites.

Im very fussy with food but this was an easy “BEST FOOD EVER” For me. I cant get over how good the food is. Plus the service is top of the line! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Definitely gonna bring all my friends for them to try! Food was so good i never write reviews but here i am writing one!

ABSOLUTE BANGER! Amazing food,well presented. Did not wait too long either. Coconut chicken curry; TO DIE FOR, as well as the prawns, and, to be fair, everything else was spot-on. Picture here of the spiced duck liver pate (just because it was the first dish), which I made vanish in seconds time! Looking forward to come back any other day.

Food was fine, but not great. Aubergine Rolls were good, and baked camembert is baked camembert. But octopus was so so sweet and the meat was bland and chewy. The drinks were all very sweet (Kir Royale, Apricot Margarita). But the staff were lovely and very kind and helpful. Just wish the food and drink was better - did NOT like the £85 bill.

A fabulous locale with delicious food.

Went to New MoOn for an incredible tapas dinner tonight! The stuffed aubergine and prawns were delectable and the service was sublime. Manager Gabor was lovely in particular and really took care of us. Would highly recommend as a date night, value for money was great and vibes were immaculate. Could not be happier with our dinner!

It's the only restaurant that had a place on a Saturday night, but that didn't mean it wasn't good. Small room, we sat outside and near our table there was the stove and they also offered us blankets to warm ourselves. We ordered four tapas to split: aubergine rolls, trio of dips, crispy fried calamari, crispy cajun crab cakes. I especially preferred the aubergine rolls and the crispy fried calamari. Food was delicious but too expensive.

It's easily the best meal I've had in the past handful of years. Amazing menu, great quirky decor, lovely staff and the food was excellent. Really decent sized and cooked dishes. Even the desert and coffee was great. Both in taste and quantity. We'll be back and definitely recommend.

We loved the food here. Genuinely amazing and it is why we come back, even with the price tag as it is. But we left with a sour taste this time around. We realized too late we had been given expensive bottled water as opposed to tap. We weren't being cheap, we also ordered drinks. It was an intentional mistake by your staff in what I assume is now your approach in these times. Service charge, you should make it at the discretion of the customer, either on the card machine like nearly all restaurants these days, or options on the bill. Not put it as the total at the bottom of the bill, and at 12.5% as standard. Like the water it really does feel like a bit of a con. Nobody will question it in the restaurant at the time because people don't go out for a meal to be faced with any level of conflict. They'll just do what I do and tell there friends and Google in frustration. Having gone to many restaurants and never facing those issues before, I can assure you you are in the minority with the above approach.

overall an okay tapas place, service was a bit chaotic but polite. calamari was chewy and tasteless. patatas bravos felt cooked from frozen, missing the crispyness and needed paprika on top. The trio of dips was the highlight excellent dish, and the chorizo was fantastic! Thanks chorizo dish had potatoes mixed in so no need to get patatas bravos as well. pork belly came in a broth which personally i wasn’t expecting

My friends and I came here to celebrate my birthday and we had the most amazing time! The service was faultless, the food was fantastic and if we hadn’t had our normal lives to get back to, we would have loved to have stayed there all day (we actually weren’t far off!). It felt like we were on holiday (we were blessed with the weather, though). We absolutely loved our meal and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. My wife and I were in Bristol over the weekend for my daughters wedding and we just wanted a quiet night on Friday. It is evident that the staff really want their customers to enjoy the evening. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I really cannot fault the food or the service. The grilled octopus in particular was absolutely delicious. We live up in Yorkshire, but we do have two kids that have settled in Bristol. We will definitely be back next time we visit

Waiting for 25 min for the menus and 25 more minutes for the drinks. Asked for calamari, that were really good but only received it after 45 min after the drinks. The only sorry we got was after complaining for the wait.

Lovely staff. Calamari, wine and sourdough were lovely although the sourdough was a small portion. Camembert was very small/half a Camembert with rather rubbish garlic bread (needed the sourdough) so rather disappointing. We both did not like the artichoke parmigiana. Patatas Bravas was undercooked and not crispy enough for us.

Our first and last visit here was incredibly disappointing. The food portions are tiny and overpriced and seem bizarrely proportioned. For example, a tapas dish of coconut chicken came with a teaspoon of rice. The belly pork was full of unrendered fat. We did complain at the end and were told the service charge could be reduced by half which seemed an odd reward as given the quality and price of the food we wouldn’t have paid it anyway. Anyway - we paid it and the bill (nearly £60 quid with one drink and a glass of water) and left feeling quite dissatisfied.

I have been to both the one in Clifton Village and by the Quay, and both times it has been great. Had their aubergine rolls, patatas bravas, calamari and crab cakes. All really lovely food and will definitely be coming back

Tasty food, great service and good atmosphere

Me and my partner, live very locally and have been waiting to try new moon tapas bar, we've heard good and bad reviews on the restaurant but we didn't let that stop us. I booked a table for 7:00pm we arrived 6:55 and no body was there to greet us or any guests, we heard voices from down stairs so we patiently waited, after 3 minutes we politely made a few noises to get a member of staff attention and still after another 4 minutes nobody came to see us so we left and went to Zizzi the closest restaurant open

Came across New MoOn Tapas this past Saturday evening and asked if my partner and I could get seated for some early evening wine/snacks because we had some time to kill before going to a rugby match at Ashton Gate later that night (didn’t have a booking and we were just in Bristol for the day). We were seated right away in the downstairs area which was super funky and vibey. Cool ambiance with good music, delicious food, plus the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. Highly recommend New MoOn to anyone local or in town for a lovely experience and some very yummy food. Pictured are the scallops which were a personal fave. Also loved the soap collection in the bathroom, what a fun quirk!

The setting of this place is nice and has a cosy atmosphere but the food and drink is massively overpriced and we left feeling really quite unsatisfied. The food that came out was a little hit and miss, some plates were very tasty and some were disappointing - beef in oyster sauce and the raspberry sorbet come to mind. Portion size was tiny so maybe have some food before you go here. Doubt I would return.

The setting was cosy, the food was tasty but very, very miniscule. I get that it's tapas, but this was more microtapas for mice on a diet.

Service was very slow, food and especially wine were very pricey (£160 for four people). Most dishes were tasty, particularly sauces and dips. Very noisy for the older diner, like me! It's interesting, different, worth a try.

Excellent selection of worldly, hispanic and exotic, well cooked, tasty tapas in a quirky little restaurant just like you might expect in Clifton village. Friendly and helpful service at 12.5%. Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere, very intimate even sitting outside. Toilet lighting was unusually Red Light District-esque. Cocktails for £12 a pop were unjustifiably expensive for a tapas restaurant where drinks are typically well priced to encourage volume over fancy names and high prices. Would have ordered more if they were reasonable. "Food comes out when it's ready, not altogether" is all well and good but not when there's a >45minute delay from the first to the last dish. Calamari was very small for the price, but the three dips were very satisfying, as was the cod. Would suggest implementing service steps so as to not forget certain tables requiring different stages of service during their visit. Might visit again but with the multitude of tapas bars in Bristol first impressions are everything.

Not bad, not great. After spending nearly £70 on food I’m left feeling a little unsatisfied. The venue was amazingly decorated and the staff were extremely friendly, also happy to accommodate vegan preferences. However the meaty dishes such as the lamb and pork were nearly 50% fat, tasted good but was disappointed that half of the dish was inedible, the curry could’ve packed a little more punch.
