This evening we went to the Sea Shanty to sample the new winter menu. what a truly bitter disappointment it was. I ordered liver bacon and onion gravy served with mash potato. It arrived drowned in gravy you couldnāt see anything except a brown liquid which was tasteless. My husband had the turkey dinner also swamped in a light coloured gravy also tasteless. All the food looked as if it had been cooked a couple of days ago and warmed up in the microwave and then flooded with soulless gravy. They did offer us something else which we declined. As regular customers who have visited regularly ever since it opened I can only think it was just a bad night or the so called chef was having an off day. Please sort it out as your food is normally tasty and good to eat.

Location is lovely however if you have experienced good food then this is a let down. Firstly we were delivered two gin and Tonics with no gin. The starters we ordered were crispy pork belly. There was nothing crispy about this it was cold and tough and was sat on a cold purĆ©e not tasty at all Mains we had hake in a creamy sauce, chips and chefs veg. The fish was lovely however I donāt think anything on the plate had any seasoning apart from the paprika on the chips. The sauce was bland. After a disappointing two courses we didnāt bother with dessert. We wonāt recommend and we are not food snobs just like tasty food

Booked for 2 nights at the Riverside. The bedrooms were recently refurbished and opened. The bedroom was excellent and bathroom likewise. We ordered what we wanted for breakfast on arrival and following morning was freshly cooked. Both mornings the cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Having been in North Yorkshire the previous week for 3 days the prices were comparable. Would we stay again. Yes, we certainly would.

From booking on the phone, right up to paying, the service at Food By Sean @ N0600 was personable, professional and very friendly. We went for the Tim Burton-themed afternoon tea as my pre-birthday treat. Everything was delicious with a variety of flavours. Highlights? š„Ŗ The cheese and tomato chutney sandwich was delicious! š„§ Mrs Lovetts meat pie was perfect! š The Dark Shadows forest tart had a great balance of sweet and tangy, and the sponge was sublime! Loved this gem and it was perfect for a rainy, autumnal day. Food By Sean @ N0600 in Ynystawe is a must. I thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again soon! Thank you! š«¶š¼

Found this takeaway tucked away behind our hotel and, based on previous reviews, had high hopes. Staff were very nice with an efficient ticket system to allow for queues. Got our fish and chips and took them to eat on the prom - fish was just OK, nothing more with very greasy batter. The chips were some of the worst we have had, again very greasy and stuck together under the fish. Maybe we just picked a bad night but we expected better - at least the seagulls had a good feed!
