Delivery time kept changing constantly and when it eventually come the chips were like the scraps at the end of the night and cold and the sausage in batters could have broken someone’s teeth it was that hard. Would never order again. Save your money

worse food we have had from hickory's,chips looked like they were from dinner time,all soggy and luke warm,be a long time before we order from them

App showed my delivery address ot opposite end of road, caused some issues for the delivery driver to authorise the delivery.

Food was delivered later than I'd specified - 12:45pm instead of 12:35 pm, I'd ordered it to be delivered at that time specifically because I had small window to eat and a taxi to take me to work at 1pm.

Always a great meal, today was no different. The delivery man was very polite and helpful too.

no delivery i won't be ordering again , got 3 hungry kids now phone the fish shop and the woman on the phone said that they couldn't give me any details on my order has it says it been delivered

Made a second order after I missed one item this then arrived nearly a hour after the first one, wanted to cancelled the order but no option to!

We got someone else's order and was told to ask just eat for a refund, so no food for us tonight.

I didn't make a particularly large order, yet the jumbo sausage was missing. Overload on the salt on the chips to the point they are inedible anyway and pretty stale. Very disappointed ☹️

Surprised that this outfit has a rating of 4.5, as the chips were inedible. Not fresh and many of them were very gritty. I have no idea why.

Food was lovely as always only downside was there was no lemon on the fish and hardly any chips

I always get my fish and chips from hikarys,as they are the best,but this time the fish and chips were not hot ,for the first time .I dont know if thats hikarys fault or the delivery. But i would order again from there.Or collect them myself.

My battered sausage wasn’t cooked had flour still on it so wasn’t happy about that

It was only on time because it kept changing the time Got to say good was so delicious just gutted it took over an hour to get here but was worth the wait as kids really enjoyed

Was recommended by a member of staff from the near by Halfords store and this recommendation was spot on. Staff very friendly and the food cooked right.

The chicken was drier than the Sahara dessert, the sausages had on odd flavour and were rubbery the chips where just about cooked fine for the bare minimum, the curry sauces tasted like they were made from a powder packet, the pie was greasy and not warm and the rissoles tasted like old socks with cheese in them best part of the food was the drinks congratulations on the worst food never ordering from you again

I ordered on delivery. Can't comment on atmosphere. This place was recommended by my neighbour. I ordered large cod, small chips, Irish curry sauce, mushy peas and tartare sauce. The fish was a reasonable size but not thick, the batter was thin and ok. I prefer bubbly very crisp batter. I didn't like the skin left on as you waste the batter and the fish was a bit wet and grey underneath (not great). There were far too many chips and they were bitty rather than whole and fat. The Irish curry sauce was lovely. Peas OK and home made tartar is a nice touch. I wouldn't order from there again. Sorry guys.

Been coming here regularly for 7 years food tonight fish was raw uncooked,chips were raw undercooked sausage in batter batter not cooked won’t be coming back total waste of £ 20

Wanted to try this place for ages because of good reviews. It's way more expensive than most chippy takeawys. I paid about £7 + for fish which was miniscule when I saw it. Total rip off. Chips were OK but I've been to lots of proper award winning chippys in Wales and beyond. I rate this one very lower end and I definitely will not be returning.

The worst curry sauce i have ever tried, not traditional curry sauce tastes cheap and powdery it was the worst curry ive eve had from a chippy. Disappointed

Had many takeaways from Hikary's, always stunning food and reasonable price

Portions have gone down, prices have gone up! Young female staff flirting with my partner constantly to the point where he is now uncomfortable going in without me or our children sitting in the car outside the doors. (They still do it, even whilst looking me in the eye! turns me sick 🤢) Had a hair in my chips just yesterday as well as less than a quarter full of a tub of coleslaw in not one but two sides. The chips often have a mushy, greasy texture which is unpleasant as well. Drinks are costly, we have started using the corner shop and just getting food separate now. Whilst it isn’t often, we have also had instances where the chips will taste like meat or fish - as a vegetarian with allergies this is disastrous.

Hikarys briton ferry is great! Great food, meal deals on offer and great service. Returning customers is obvious. We've called in here a couple of times now for cheese rissolle and chips. This is not a sit in chippy.

Food is okay. But service from every woman that works in there is disgusting. They treat everyone like dirt. One girl who works there and was serving was kissing her boyfriend goodbye and ignoring customers. They treat the Uber drivers like they are slaves. Disgusting women.
