The best fish and chips ive had in years! To be honest the last 2 years I have found that I have given up with chip shops as their portions are tiny and the prices are sky high and food is sub par but today I thought I'd give here a go and it's restored my faith. Good portions for a large chips, crispy fresh fish. Most chip shops I find can't get the balance of freshly cooked and crispy its either soggy or left in heater for ages where its just dry rather than crispy but here was the perfect balance and lovely brown cooked chips (not rushed and under done like most other chippys) Would recommend highly!

Chips weren’t cooked enough, Very greasy couldn’t finish them, Fairfield fish bar well it’s not fair that you’re serving the worst chips ever

So far 5 star 1st tyme useing in a while last tyme was b4 chippy had up grade etc back wen i lived in fairfield as now live in sandfields

We ordered fish,chips, battered sausage and a savaloy. Everything was great, just the fish was rubbery, not flakey.

Rang in an order, within the hour they said. Two hours and twenty minutes later still not arrived. Not on. The food is actually great quality and delicious but absolutely nobody should wait that long when they're told within the hour. Not the first time either. Won't be ordering again if we can't get there in person.

1st time tried their fish and chips, it was very tasty, they also have nice chunky piece of fish not like others where they give you more batter than fish. Well recomended

Asked for a large sausage curry an chips an got about 15 chips won’t go again

I ordered steak and kidney pie, chips and a saveloy. The pie was excellent, the chips were very good but the saveloy was a bit tough. Its a difficult sausage to get right so I wasnt overly disappointed with the experience. They also take cards as well.

Ordered food by telephone ! Woman on phone stated delivery 1 hour ! After 1 1/2 hours phone to see where delivery was ! They stated food had gone out !then they had lost order ticket ! Stated they would re order and send out later !declined offer had to obtain food somewhere else !

I made a small mistake on my order which I realised when I had my delivery. I called them immediately and the owner as usual was lovely. She immediately sent out the item which I wanted but put something else on the order at no extra cost. First class service and always fresh, hot food.

Having been born and grew up in Port Talbot it was good to revisit my hometown. When I lived in Port Talbot this fish shop was known as "Lens" a man who produced the best fish and chips and was a legend. You can imagine my shock to see such a transformation on a visit after being away for in excess of 35 years .... The big question was " would it be as good ? " The word disappointment did not even arise. The fish was good, the chips were excellent and the staff so friendly. Not sure if Len is still around but if he is he would be proud of the transformation as his customers are I am sure of the change ....pleased with the product ? you bet I am !! !!

Fabulous fish and chips I love about three miles away from the shop but it’s worth the journey we usually have one large fish and one leg chips and that’s plenty for the two of us to share

Well what can I say , I would never dispute that his food isn’t good because I have always been impressed, apart from the time when he gave me undercooked chicken which was bloody and was very apologetic when I went back. Maybe it’s because he does so well with his fish and chip shop that he feels that he is justified in being rude !My Mom is a cancer sufferer and is currently on Chemo and food has to be cooked fresh and all I said was ‘could I have fresh fish please as my mom is on Chemo ‘ He proceeded to say ‘ my food is always fresh, please do not say this in front of my customers as it’s not good for my business! I said I did not mean that your fish isn’t fresh , and turned around and explained to his customers what I meant . He then said again ‘ I have asked you not to say my fish isn’t fresh in front of customers! I said I was explaining that I wasn’t saying it wasn’t fresh and the reason why I needed it cooked fresh .I promptly turned around and walked out and he went on to say rudely ‘yes bye’!Needless to say I won’t be going there again as he obviously hasn’t got any respect for his customers ! I went to the Posh Plaice instead as they will always do fresh haddock (Fairfield’s doesn’t by the way ), and it was lovely

I worked In a chippy down south for 12 years and had my own cafe for 20years so I am particular but this place tick all my boxes. I won't eat from anywhere else.

This was our 3rd visit to this chip shop during past 6 weeks. Fish & chips were excellent big portions, very good value for money

Top quality fish and chip shop , been going here for years through the years always had the kind of chips you know that are different from everywhere else , I know people who have travel atleast 40 mins for a bag of chips and curry from here , staff are fantastic quick service and you can tell when you smell the fresh chip shop smell that everything is cooked fresh and in front of you , the servings are Very helpful you could feed a family of four off the large chips and the prices are all very reasonable for the quality of food your getting , and for that, a review of 5* is well earned , 👍👍👍

We stopped in here for a little bit of lunch. The chips were delicious, the sizing is generous. The lady serving was polite, friendly and very helpful. We will defiantly be back next time we are in the area. It’s only take away, there is no inside seating.

called here round 6,30pm on friday after not been for while thought would give them another chance as last time wasnt good this time was even worse awefull tasting chips small piece fish and cost £6.00 I `Travel all over S. wales for work and this is now one most expensive places ive been to i can get a much bigger fish Hake in newport for £5.29 twice size in fact and to top it all when i got back to car because they had not wrapped fish chips up in enough paper they fell into my Lap never again
