Model Fish Bar in Neath Port Talbot

Had food here a couple of times recently and very happy with it each time. Had Fish and chips tonight: Fish absolutely boneless, Well seasoned and freshly cooked with a lovely light crisp batter and great chips. They certainly don't cut corners on anything. The food was a pleasure to eat and the best fish I've had in a long time. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis. 👍

Food ok ot is hot, but when you order a chicken salad wrap and only get lettuce, it's disappointing 😞

Such a shame to give a bad review because the food is genuinely lovely but we have been put off ordering as the customer service by one staff member is so bad! Mistakes are made like wrong food delivered or a missing item (and that's completely Ok as we understand it's busy!) But when you ring to let them know the girl that answers the phone is so rude and disrespectful. She will argue with you on the phone and call you a liar. The manager/owner is lovely and will rectify the issue but the girl you have to speak to first needs some lessons on customer service. Such a shame she's turning your customers against ordering because of her attitude

Wow. Just had a chicken meat and chips and it was out of this world. Hubby had a large chicken burger and chips and we have to say it was the nicest we've had. The portions are amazing. Thank you 😊

One of the top chippys in Neath. Excellent for a naughty kebab whilst having lovely chips. Update. If possible this chip shop has got better. A very helpful, very tasty chip shop with great staff. Is it bad that he generally knows my order?

Best kebab in town and has been for some years

I am 72 and HOUSEBOUND and for a,change I ordered a Take Away from the Model for my son and myself which was extremely easy to do. The order arrived from the Model exactly on time. The food was first class and hot and of excellent quality, the Chips were the best that I had eaten for a number of years. I will use this service again in the future and I would recommend the Model to anyone in the future 1st CLASS SERVICE

Food always great but the woman driver is very impatience attitude problems just because she had to climb a few stairs when you pay for delivery it's posed to be at your door but she was very rude

This is by far the best chip shop in neath if not further. The portion sizes are generous to say the least. The fish is amazingly fresh and cooked to perfection cost wise it is very inexpensive compared to other places but its the cleanliness and quality that impresses me the most. Had tasty , freshly cooked fish and chips. The chips were regular portion but far too much for 2 ! Bit of a wait but were 5 people ahead of me so to be expected

Customer service absolutely appalling. The lady over the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful to me this evening. Ordered 2 meals and was told to wait an hour after waiting an hour and 20 minutes called them to ask how long and was told the driver was on the way. When the food arrived they had missed an item off my order so phoned back up and said I was missing a item the lady then said she’d send another one out I called back up to say don’t worry about it as delivery was taking so long and by the time the other one got here my food would of been freezing so when I said that she said your making me fed up now calling you just want to cause drama. How rude and disrespectful. Never ordering from here again. Disgusting

Had a regular portion of chips at £2.20 and they were hot, fresh, good portion for the money, good customer service and will definitely be back 👌

Kebabs have have gone poor last chicken kebab was covered in fat. Used to be 5 stars

Ordered through food hub, placed an order, and then it was sent to the restaurant, a minute later the restaurant accepted the order, so they charged my card, only for literally a minute later to phone me and say they have no chicken meat left, so I have to wait 5 days for a refund. So why accept the order knowing you didn't have any left? 2nd time its happened now, so this, along with the price rises means I won't come here again sadly.

Never eaten a kebab before this shop changed ownership everything looks really nice and it is spotlessly clean I’ve only had a couple of different meals so far and all very well made deserves 5star

I visited Neath several times with work and on this occasion I decided to buy my dinner from the Model Fish Bar. The fish shop was clean and the staff were joyful. There was a varied menu with burgers, wraps, kebabs, pies and pasties, as well as fish and chips. I chose a small sausage in batter with chips. I received a very prompt service and the food tasted fantastic. I ate my meal at nearby Victoria Park, which was beautiful and peaceful

Been ordering from here for a while but only recently had a problem last time I ordered the delivery driver was extremely rude and this time my husband rang to see roughly how long the food will be as we have been waiting over a hour and the person on the phone was extremely rude its a shame as the food has always been lovely but the customer service has dropped massively!!!

Had a delivery this evening, delivery was on time and the food arrived hot, ordered fish and chips and a few extras, best fish I've tasted, the chips were spot on too with a good portion size, excellent value for money, will definitely order from here again. :)

Lockdown jewel to outshine others. We never thought about getting food from Model Fish bar before but we were recommended it by a neighbour. I have had Fish and chips from all in the area and I do tend to sway towards the big 2 in the Melin but not anymore. This is the freshest and tastiest fish I can remember. I don’t know how they do it but even when it is delivered the batter remains crunchy and wonderful. Whilst others are good the do tend to a bit soggy when transported home. Real chips and a vast choice of other foods. I whole heartedly recommend Model Fish bar Neath. Enjoy.

Absolutely horrid people, ordered 3 meals for my 3 children, only 2 arrived. When I phoned them they argued with me, even though I was looking at my order I had placed, he continued to insist I hadn’t ordered what I was looking at, will never order from here again and will always recommend people go elsewhere. No customer service at all and soooooo rude

Amazing food and amazing prices tried this place on a wim and was completely worth it. Will definitely order again. Fish was beautifuly cooked,chips were amazing curry was perfect amazing food.

We call here on regular occasions while travelling back to West Wales from the Cynon Valley. Food here is totally unmatched in this area, the staff are friendly and the premises pristine. The only issue is trying to decide what to have, on this occasion we had cod, haddock and small chips each and again it didn't disappoint. Highly recommended so give it a try.

Food wasn't the best quality but it was like 10pm so I couldn't care

Haven't actually been there but used the online delivery service, I'd heard about it and since nobody delivers fish & chips in the area decided to try it. The online menu is more comprehensive than the average chippy but as we like to judge a chip shop by the quality of the fish, we ordered small fish which was very reasonably priced, and chips. We had a discount for ordering online and only charged one pound delivery. The food arrived piping hot and well packed. The fish could have been mistaken for large portions as could the chips. Both fish and chips were excellent we look forward to using this great service again soon.

Didi and her partner are the new management at the model chip shop. They are very welcoming and the fish is outstanding value and the flavour is awesome. The chips are beautiful. We love a chippy tea from here. We have told all our friends and family.

This choppy is the best in the uk . I have had fish & chips dinner kabab chicken kabab mixed kabab southern fried chicken & chips and never been disappointed and as I work all over the. U.K. I have visited to many to count fish & chip shops so I think I'm qualified to say in my opinion it's the best in the uk so give this chippy a try you won't be disappointed . They have something I,ve never seen before "Curried Chicken pies" Wow! It was good,I had Chips with it (French Fries to everyone outside the UK) Ha!Ha!Ha! It,s under new management,so it will take them a little while to establish a clientele ,it,s take out only! but I still think they will do well,too bad they,re over 7000 kms away from me,otherwise I,d order a take-out myself

Was closed down by trading standards because if rats in kitchen, stay away!!!!!! This has to be the worst shop in neath, it's run by rude staff, I will never eat there again

My mam lives in Neath and whenever I pop down, I grab a take away from The Model. Extensive menu, good sized portions, excellent quality and good value for money! I have crossed to the darkside (i.e moved to England lol) and I wish my local chippy could compare to the Model e.g a large bag of chips at the Model is £1.70 (in our local- Ruddy's in Lydney it is £2.10 and a smaller portion) Fish at the Model is £3.30 (£4.10 in my local) They also do all the favourites e.g sausage rolls and rissoles etc ( have yet to find an English chippie that sells these!!!!) All in all a cracking chippie.......they have been going for decades, so obviously doing something right.
