Best chippy by far, fresh battered fish every time, clearly a man who nows about his oil management and produces a quality product. Good conversation as well, hopefully I will see up North Patties soon. You have tried the rest, now try the best.

Menu looks good, reviews look good.I visited around 11.30 am on Wednesday 15th January after reading the menu outside. The entrance to the Restaurant is through the Fish n Chip shop.It wasn't busy, perhaps half a dozen people sitting.It wasn't clear wether I should order in the Chip shop or take a seat.There appeared to be three staff on duty but none of them acknowledged my presence,so I stood awhile feeling awkward before approaching the counter, where I was ignored by all three staff who were having a conversation with their back to me,so once again I went to the chip shop where everyone was busy cooking.Once again I waited in the restaurant but no-one engaged,so I left and headed for Wetherspoons

Went here last week and for a family of 4 - fish chips curry, pudding chips gravey, kids sausage and chips with gravy, and a sausage dinner. 2 smacks/ specials, it came to £33 almost and had to also purchase an extra sauce as I asked for fish chips and curry and they put the sauce separately as they’d put the fish in a box. I said I asked for it together and was told I should have specified that even though I didn’t ask for a tub of sauce. Never been told to specify that i don’t want a tub of sauce in a Leigh chippy in my life. Anyway the tubs they give and charge a small fortune for covered about 8 chips so good job I purchased another. Also I thought why did they put sauces on the other meals I ordered without me specifically asking for it on the meals and not in tubs?? The chips were scantly scattered around the box too. My daughter had more chips in her kids sausage and chips. The food was ok, not great and not bad. Fish aren’t anything to shout about, I’ve caught bigger at the silcocks fair but they all seem be doing this - prices up portions down. I’ll go elsewhere in future as paying extra for sauce that I wanted on the dinner in the first place then being told I should have specified that I wanted it on the fish and chips was poor customer service. Place seemed busy so maybe an off day or maybe they don’t care as they are a busy chippy. Who knows.

Served by Hellen, who was lovely. Service was very fast and food was amazing, as it always is.

The overall quality has declined in the last year…Chips were soggy in fat. The fish not as good and the portions were smaller.

This place never fails to amaze me. Booked for Sunday lunch good choice of mains and very large portions as well. The staff were excellent and the service was great. Can I complain. Steff that Posh Peach Bread and butter pudding was to die for. It was so good I nearly ordered a second helping :) Send me the recipes please Thank you

Very good Fish & chips, with a little bit of salad, a bit pricey - 2 small Cod & Chips and 1 small can coke. I thought that £28.00 for a bit steep.

Visiting Manchester and friends taking out f&c. Lovely crunchie fish( few good choices) but prefer haddock and lovely fries and mushy pies. Big portions.👌😋😋good buy9

If I could give zero stars I would! I recently ordered two portions of fish and chips from Chippers, a place I’ve returned to many times, but this visit was a disaster. The fish was clearly not fresh – mushy, grey, falling apart, and completely tasteless. The smell alone was unbearable, filling my car with such a strong stench of fish that it clung to the seats and lingered long after I threw the food away. It was truly awful. When I called the owner to share my disappointment, hoping for at least a basic apology, I was met with nothing but a dismissive and argumentative attitude. No effort to understand my concern, no hint of accountability – just a complete lack of customer care. I’ve praised this place in the past when the food was good, but after this experience, I won’t be going back. Consistency is key, and it’s clear that Chippers has lost theirs. With this kind of attitude, avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

Was absolutely awful!! Disgusting to see a saveloy thrown in the microwave, by someone with go gloves on, saveloy wasn’t wrapped in anything. This same person kept opening the microwave door touching it with his bare hands and not even washing his hands after touching change! It’s disgusting! How can somewhere with a 5 star hygiene rating, have standards like this. Will not be returning!
