Best fish and chips I've had for years!! Fish batter not too thick, none of it was too greasy. Even the bread roll was buttered whilst the food was cooking!!

Best pie and chips in the area and they even give away free gravy to compliment the pie. Totally satisfied and will definitely revisit. They did have 3 staff members working doing different duties, however, the wait time was about 20 minutes from ordering to taking it away. I’m unsure if its due to it being a dry Saturday evening or if they’re understaffed.

Fantastic fish & chips, the best shop in the local area. I've been using Lee on Solent chippy for a while now & always excellent service & great Fish & Chips. Brilliant value pensioners Cod & chips at £5.90 , great as I can order & collect for my elderly parents. Telephone for easy order & minimum wait, however no phone orders on a Friday so don't get caught out. Overall excellent, there is nowhere better.

Always great chips from here and the counter staff are fantastic. The chippy was the busiest I’ve ever seen it yesterday evening, but there was no outward frustration or stress from them. The new numbered ticketing system works really well, too 🙂 Just overall a very smooth and calm operation on what I imagine was a very hot and hectic day for the staff. Decent selection of veggie options, which is a bonus!

Good old fashion chippy best in the area.

We regularly make a 25 minute journey to Lee-On-Solent Fish & Chippy. We have tried several different items on the menu and everything is always freshly cooked to order and delicious every time. Do like the fact that they allow their battered items to drain before serving and it has always been thoroughly cooked. There is a wide variety of dishes to try and all very reasonably priced. They offer their own homemade sauces as well. Favourite item has got to be their Spam Fritter......not an easy one to find nowadays! Only slight niggle is they only offer 10p plastic carrier bags which does make the food sweat - would prefer paper bags if that were possible? Overall, friendly, helpful staff, good quality, value for money menu and great service....what more could you ask for!

The best chips & curry sauce in Lee-on-Solent. We visited this place due to the high reviews and wanting chips & curry sauce to enjoy on the beach. The queue was literally out of the door as we arrived which is always a good sign. This did not affect the great customer service though. We were quickly served and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful when showing the portion sizes of the chips. There was a chalk board indicating how long the wait time would be which was a nice touch. The prices & portion sizes for the chips & curry sauce were very reasonable and both were served pipping hot. Overall I recommend this place to anyone visiting Lee-on-Solent and wanting some fresh chips. 5/5

Great to see mackerel on the menu - a more sustainable fish. Delicious fish, great crispy batter not too thick. Chips were good - prefer a bit more cooked - but portion very generous. Huge menu with lots of choices incl veggies. Well done! Highly recommend

We waited 15 minutes for the chips to come out soggy and clagged together in the bag, watery onion gravy and not enough salt.. but the sausage was good

Ordered a kids fish meal,pea and pineapple fritters chips and cod all hot even after taking home, always tasty here.but..I really wish they would put VEGAN FISH as an option so I could enjoy a meal with my family and feel better about my choice. Please consider putting this on your menu🩵🙏🏻

It says they close at 8.30pm.. but actually they stop cooking at 8pm Disappointing and will not visit again. 2x savaloy and a pie only..! At 8.10pm..! And no I cannot read the notice on your door from my house, funnily enough! But I can read 8.30pm on your Google business page...

Good portions. Large menu and consistently good fish, cooked to order, very light and crispy batter (nothing soggy here!) and nice chips. Nice mushy peas and individual tartare sauce.

Amazing box meals. Pie & chips with curry sauce & gravy as well for the same money. Nice food too. We'll worth the trip to collect.

Had lunch from here today, (haddock and chips cooked to order with a free hot drink). The food was piping hot, tasty and delicious and the coffee was lovely too, still hot after eating, even though it was a cold day at the beach. It is my favourite chippy (the best I know), and a treat to go to as it's a 40 minute drive from home. The staff are always helpful and it's a very pleasant atmosphere.

Our favourite tasting fish and chips around (and we live in Southampton). Everything is cooked fresh so expect a bit of a wait...but it's worth it 😉

Only wanted a portion of chips as just spent nearly 2 hours in traffic driving home from Southsea. Girl was useless as instead of just doing a portion of chips as they were already cooked she placed my order with orders for food to cook. In the end I waited nearly 30 minutes for one portion of chips. The final straw was a guy who came in and ordered after me walked out the shop 5 minutes before me.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else! The service is quick, the staff really lovely and the food is superb, always toasty hot and fresh, and at a reasonable price too. Tried various combos but our go to favourite is the cod meal in a box, with mushy peas - delicious! The portion size is absolutely perfect and anywhere else I usually leave the batter, not here, it’s thin, evenly spread and so tasty.

Can't lie not the best, not even temperature hot, only live five mins drive away. Lots of chips but mixed in with old mouldy chips or scraps, my lad nearly threw up at the table at one point, said it tasted funny, found a few other suspect chips. Get what you pay for? One job really, cook fresh chips properly until ready and hot enough. First time trying it out, won't be rushing back I'm afraid. *Can't see an option to reply Rob so just to clarify Lee On the Solent high street and Stubbington the other two I rated as best in the area. Tonight first time buying from Portsmouth road chippy.

Well I decided to try in the off chance & I was amazed by the quality of, there was 20-25 minute wait by the queue which is usually a good sign when I did get my large cod & chips there was no disappointment in the quality or the size of the cod the chips were plenty for a small portion just right this is my my go to for fish and chips

Couldn't buy anything as they were cash only due to no Internet 😔 They should have a backup for this sort of issue.

When i went to the shop, I was greeted with very polite staff and great portion sizes, would recommend if in town as the rest of the fish and chip shops nearby aren’t as good from my experience.

Been a customers for years, and eaten here many many times today ordered 3 X fish and chips and each set was below any standards. Fish weren't fresh and looks like the they were all covered with leftovers after all day. Chips were average. Considering we know what that place was representing before quality wise we are totally disappointed. Never ever

Really nice fish and chips. We don't use this chippy too often, but it consistently delivers very nice fish and chips. The staff and friendly and always cook the fish to order so it's nice flaky and the chips are crisp.

Rather disappointed tonight. Our chips tasted rather fishy and sausage tasted like garlic. Such a shame as this is our favourite place. Please change the deep fryer more often before you make this place go down hill.

At last a very nice chippy! Visited for the first time today. Excellent Food! Cooked lovely. Ordered cod & chips with curry sauce, pea Fritter, chips and pie. Small chips mushy peas and sausage. Highly recommend will visit again 👍

We arrived 15 minutes before closing, and I asked if they were still open. They told me yes, we are still open for another 15 minutes. So I ordered a large cod and small chips, and my wife had chicken and chips. We then walked two minutes up the road and into our B&B, where we tucked in to our supper. The fish was good and the chicken was fine, however, our chips were cold! Just because it was near closing time, the standards should not drop. UPDATE - The manager has been in touch and he agreed that the standards should not have dropped and asked us to call in and he will put it right. We were only there for one night so we could not go back. However, I am very greatful for your offer, excellent customer service and quick response. Thank you! 😊

Usually we love this place but very disappointed yesterday. Ordered a large fish and medium chips along with some other bits. When we got home the chips were in a cardboard carton with the fish on top instead of being bagged like usual. The portion of chips was so tiny it wouldn't have even classed as a small portion normally. Hopefully this doesn't happen again as the food is great.

Only discovered this chippy by accident a week ago and have been twice now. Couldn't fault anything about it.

Not a place to done out. Definitely a place to buy take away (not take out.... we're British!) genius fish and chips. So good food and reasonable prices. Highly recommended

Good cod and chips. I asked specifically for a large cod that I noticed sitting in the glass storage place, and although I enjoyed it, it was a little dry and maybe just a touch overcooked. But I enjoyed my cod and chips, and I will go back. The people working there were nice and friendly, and the beach is right around the corner.

Fish and chips this evening were really poor. The fish was dry and didn't taste fresh parts of the batter were dry and hard and other parts uncooked, the chips were over greasy and I think they had been cooked and then cooked again. I paid nineteen pounds for this. Haven't used Elmore fish and chips for a,few months and won't be back. I live at Hill Head and if it wasn't so far away I would have taken them back to you!

Quite a long wait but at least there were seats. When the fish & chips came - obviously very freshly cooked - they were delicious.

Unfortunately we did not like the batter on the fish quite hard no taste the chips were dreadful they were hard like they had been fried and fried again hard on the outside with no potatoes inside we could not eat them very disappointed

Visited Gosport from Germany and I loved the fish and chips

I've been here a few times since working in the area but twice now the fish has been overcooked, shriveled up and dry in the batter. At the end of a long day, I don't appreciate paying £10 to have to chew through a tough, shrunken 'large' cod in burned batter. The young staff don't seem to care much towards the end of their shift it seems. There are other Fish and Chip shops around.

Popped in today for the first time , read reviews last night sounded good so I thought I give it go , how pleased I was to have made that choice ,I bought one large cod and med chips ,and OAPs cod meal, mushy peas and a jar of cockles , the fish was White and the batter was thin and crispy, chips were real fish shop chips ,the young lady who served me was polite and Very professional as was the the lady who fryed them , thanks for not disappointing my birthday lunch,we will be back !

Never eaten here before Popped in as passing by. ordered cod and chips Good sized portions and nicely cooked also ordered the curry sauce not to my taste unfortunately not very much spice heat and had a very strong flavour of cinnamon that did not go well with the fish or the chips just my opinion but I do like a curry sauce with my chips. Would definitely buy from here again.

Love this place. Got a small bag of chips and it was huge! Nevertheless, I valiantly worked my way through them all whilst being blown away on Lee promenade. Too good to leave. Thank you for the best fish and chips in Lee.

Discovered this chippy en route to Gosport Marina. Fresh fish cooked to order - a small wait but well worth it! Have been calling in regularly over the past couple of months. Never disappointed- can definitely recommend.

A clean and bright Chippie with cheerful staff. Pensioner's deal is excellent value whilst being quality fish and chips. Large selection on the menu. Always a treat and we have never been let down so we never go elsewhere.
