We visited for an evening meal as a catch up. We were welcomed with excellent service, quickly seated and drinks delivered. We found the evening menu very light on options with only a hand full off dishes which a couple of people in our party didn’t fancy. We mentioned this and we were quickly offered alternative options and found meals that worked for us. The food was brill and we really appreciated the flexibility. If I’d improve anything it would be the options on the evening menu as it was very limited.

An indoor/outdoor bar with views across Haslar marina and creek. Excellent food, a good choice of bottled beers and some ciders. Dog friendly in the bar and on the verandah but not in the indoor restaurant. Quirky booking system, online 24 hours or more in advance. Phone number goes to answerphone, mobile is the managers personal number. Fortunately it wasn't too busy on an early weekday evening. Food is good, at the top end of moderate, there no cheap options. We had the individual beef wellingtons which are homemade and superb quality. "chefs veg" is a selection of green and other veg, nicely cooked. We'll be going back.

Lovely cafe set within the haslar marina. A great menu to choose from, including fish and chips and burgers. The service was both friendly and professional. When the weather is sunny, I can't think of a better place to be as it has great views across the marina. Highly recommended

We poped in for a family lunch, the setting and decor is lovely. The staff were very friendly and did a wonderful job looking after us. We really enjoyed our food we both had the burger and it was excellent, I felt the price was very reasonable for the quality. Our son enjoyed his meal from the children's menu. We also had some lovely cocktails which were delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Came here for breakfast midweek. The place was quiet, but the setting is lovely looking over the marina and spinnaker tower in the background - in the sun it is up there with the best views about. However, that is where the positives end. A very small and basic menu, and expensive at that. My greek yoghurt with chia seeds, fruit and honey didn't have any honey or chia seeds on it, and at £7.95 for some yoghurt, 3 strawberries, 3 raspberries and 4 blueberries I felt wasn't really appropriate. The pancakes appear to be shop bought and was served with a few mouldy raspberries, again I'd hoped for something a bit better. It's a shame as it's got an absolutely prime location and it could be great - but I really felt let down and won't be back.

Sadly we had a poor experience..very very slow service meant 3 hours to serve an evening meal..and no checking up or chasing up. Staff were not in anyway on top of this.. when we asked we were repeatedly told its coming..it wasn't. 1 apology squeezed out after the delayed starters..2 of which even then were clearly forgotten...no apology when we waited nearly an hour for desserts and no explanation or attention given. Shockingly poor service. No awareness of theie customers.Shame because the food was good...when it came

We have eaten here quite a few times. On all occasions the food has been amazing, whether that is breakfast, lunch or dinner. The location is also so good, if you like boats. In the past the service has either been very good or very slow! Last night when we visited it was very good. The team were very friendly, the amount of time we waited was entirely appropriate and the food was amazing. Thank you very much.

Moved to Gosport a couple of months ago, and decided to do an off the cuff Sunday afternoon visit to The Creek with my 16 year old daughter. A lovely welcome, a few bits not available as they had been busy. I had the beef roast and my daughter had the burger - both really nice meals. I will be back. I also thought it would just be a nice place to go for a beer and look out over the marina.

Solo traveller in Gosport for work - stayed elsewhere the previous night but job required an additional night. Booked in at the Haslar Marina - room is perfect, well appointed (spacious, coffee machine, lush shower etc) and staff are lovely. Went for dinner at The Creek - Oh my God it was delicious! Really nice place, lovely atmosphere and situation. It was a Tuesday night so not overly busy but still with a very lively and welcoming atmosphere, plus great service by Charlotte and Deborah. The food was AMAZING! Rump of lamb (had the dauphinoise instead of mash) which was cooked perfectly, it might seem silly but all too often a good meal or roast is let down by the veg, but all the greens were cooked to perfection *chefs kiss*. WIll definitely stay here again and go to The Creek for food - highly recommended.

There is a lovely choice of food for lunch including Fish and Chips, Moules, Burgers and a Steak Baguette. The also have an all day menu boasting home made meatballs, Squid and Sizzling Prawns, Whitebait etc or you can just grab a bowl of Cheesy Chips for £3.50! Food was oh so average...overpriced and honestly feels like it's all just heated in a microwave. We were a party of 6 , 3 couples the men's food i would say was slightly better...us ladies had ' beef wellington " ...what a waste of time...the steak inside was annihilated and the pastry 100% must of been Just Roll...far too big and under cooked, the potato straight outta the microwave and the veg just bland bland bland! We've been a good few times and always think a visit to The Creek is like a lucky dip...you don't know what ure gonna get. Mum and Dad would of been embarrassed if I had spoken to the restaurant at the time so I sent an email...which has been completely ignored, yes very rude! It's such a shame that a really good restaurant at such an amazing location is just poor....BRING BACK HARRY'S!!....was always a winner... Shame The Creek isn't....😒

Maria is back 😁😎👍 Ever since they created this lovely venue it’s been lacking in direction and never quite hit the mark. Having previously turned round the lightship and Trinity’s Maria left to chase other dreams. Now she’s back things are looking up. We’ve had a couple of meals since her return and whilst clearly there’s work to do as she knocks things into shape things are definitely looking up. Very happy for the season ahead. I’m hoping she also gets to run the Lightship as well. That has so much potential.

Some say, if you can’t say anything nice, say nothing…… not today I’m afraid. I have visited many times and generally it’s good for a decent breakfast and lunch, not tried dinner. Sunday lunch last week was fine hence a return visit. This week, food was dreadful, lukewarm but chard roast beef and chicken overcooked & dry, as were the rock hard potatoes. Agreed to try a replacement food order, not much improvement, much more gristle, but at least it was piping hot and felt obliged to eat, not to mention our hunger pangs forcing us. Great venue, pleasant server, the bill arrived with one small meal removed, to avoid any further angst for my family, I begrudgingly settled the bill without negotiation and left very disappointed. So, the famous Forest Gump chocolate quote springs to mind, and we have nicknamed this place “Capricious”, may sound somewhat more creative than the Creek, definitely more apt. I would welcome a reply, and a communication with Zoe.

I invariably arrive by sea at this wonderful shoreside hostelry. The marina staff give us a close in berth once we have told them we are heading for The Creek. Then once in and seated we had great service from Katie and Evie who were engaging and very helpful with menu choices. If memory serves me right we had three of the small platters (prawns mmmmmm, squid mmmm and the pulled pork croquettes mmmm). Rarely when giving reviews do I mention the food, for me it’s all about service and once again I have to say I’m very happy to pay for good professional service with a smile. On this occasion I will mention the food. The squid came with an elderflower and mint jelly, almost a clear gel like makeup with a light green tint throughout the translucent side bowl. The taste…. I’m no master chef critic, far from it. Absolutely amazing, remember we’re on a small water front bar in Hampshire - this was a taste sensation. I’ll stop gushing and recommend that you visit personally. And all of you thinking to go there, if you eat at The Creek, the berthing is free. Now that is a waterborne incentive. Thanks to the team for a great lunch.

Our meal? Lobster and crab risotto. Undercooked, nowhere near enough flavour our seasoning. A risotto is a blank canvas for the chef to stamp his flavour on a meal. His conversation must be so "bland". Sadly the promised samphire that was supposed to have come with it was mixed in with it. There must have been four/five small slivers of samphire. Underwhelming to say the least. Ribeye steak with a red wine jus. It came with gravy. The red wine bottle must have been waved at it. The steak was cooked just a touch over the medium rare. Garlic mushrooms were excellent.....just swimming in oil.

Eventually when we were served the portions of food were minuscule and incredibly expensive for the size. Very, very disappointed. I’d like to give the chef a mouthful as that’s all we got.

Terrible service but the food is ok and the location is convenient for the marina It took ages for drinks to arrive, with staff too busy talking to their friends. Much confusion from being given the wrong menus, and then the menu descriptions not matching the actual dishes. I would recommend taking the time to walk into town instead.

Disappointing restaurant experience. 1. Slow service on our initial drinks order 2. Mistake on my food order - different sauce from the menu option I’d chosen 3. The prawns in my pasta still had shells on The waitress was very apologetic and insisted on giving us a 10% discount on the whole order. 4. When the food bill came it included an unexpected item. This was a correction to the initial drinks bill. I was disappointed that this was not drawn to my attention. It felt a little as though they were they trying to slip this in.

We have visited the restaurant at The Creek twice now and have very mixed feelings about it. The quality of the food is excellent, the menu is both ambitious and exciting (with some local suppliers) and some of the front of house staff have been very friendly and helpful. The décor is nice and the location is beyond superlatives. But the food delivery and other elements of the service have been absolutely atrocious. On our first visit (brunch for a family group of 7 at the end of January), my breakfast was perfect, but those who had baked beans needed to send them back not once but TWICE to be reheated because they were stone cold. And another member of our party was given undercooked eggs a second time, even after sending the first plate back as inedible. As other elements of the food were great and the waiting staff apologetic, we put this down to short staffing and / or inexperience in the kitchen. Therefore we thought the positive elements made it worth giving the place a second chance. On our second visit (evening meal for a family group of 5 in April) the food was still excellent (except my nephew's onion rings, which were rank) but the service was abysmal in a variety of different ways. This time there were no attempts at an apology nor to make us feel welcome. It was so bad that we considered walking out before our mains. We live locally and really don't have much money, so eating out is a rare (and expensive) treat for us. But we have been through a series of family bereavements recently and just wanted to share a decent meal without hassle. We honestly thought that we'd found a decent place on our doorstep that we could take visiting friends and family to, but now we feel ashamed to have subjected them to this.

The staff were friendly we had a nice conversation about Disney. The food did take a while to come and it was a bit chewy. The only sad thing was I wanted the fish and chips but they informed us after 5 minutes of waiting that they didn’t have it. Great staff but just needed to be a bit quicker other then that it was a good place to eat

Overpriced with a manger who needs some complaints handling training! We visited here tonight for a family meal having previously experienced a good experience on mother’s day. However tonight’s experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival the staff explained that they were using an “explorer menu” over the Easter break, it created some confusion as the waitress also talked to us about the weekday menu and we were led to believe we could view that menu too. Having seen a very limited “explorer menu” we asked to see the weekday menu but this was not available. We asked about any other vegetarian options as there were only two on the main dish part of the menu but were told the menu was as set. Two of us ordered the sea bass which in terms of the food taste was ok however our main complaint was the portion size of the fish and the whole meal. The seabass was priced at £19.50 but the fish was no more than a very thin 5 inches slice of fish. (Grown seabass is usually 50cm on average). In brief it was certainly not value for money, having experienced many seafood dishes in similar restaurants in the areas the dish was basically a rip off in terms of its quantity and pricing point. We later spoke to the manager about our experience and explained how disappointed we were at the value of the meal. This was respectful and we highlighted that the staff / waitress was pleasant and that our feedback was not related to her service. Our view of the manager was that she is in need of complaint handling training. As business people ourselves one thing we understand is firstly a need to actually listen to customer feedback, accept it and then deal positively with their concerns. This manager did the entire opposite to what would be expected of a complaint resolution. She seemed more determined to defend the portion size, their restrictions in terms of their supplier and that each item on their menu was costed to the penny. My feedback to you directly is that you failed to listen, spent more time defending an indefensible customer experience and basically showed a ‘I don’t care attitude’ to the feedback you were being given. When told we would be making an online review, you said words to the effect of “well you have spoke to me now so it doesn’t matter”. I would be mortified if one of my own staff told a customer not to make a review after such a poor experience. My feedback to the owner is you need to review your portion size, your price points and train your staff to deal with customer complaint handling. This has been highlighted in a number of previous reviews so you are clearly not listening to your customers. Lastly your toilet facilities need a good clean! We will not be a returning customer.

The place is fantastic, staff are so friendly and professional. We got to know so many things about the areas from them, and they had great wine & whisky selection. Definitely the food is 10/10 made freshly on the day, will be visiting soon when they have a live jazz band.. thank you for making my bd extra special 😊😊😊😊😊

My wife and I went to a Spanish wine tasting here. The wines were paired with Spanish cuisine. The food was excellent, and the wines were matched very well. The guest Vintner was informative and came round to the tables to chat and answer questions. The staff were friendly and engaging. Excellent time was had.

We went there this weekend for a birthday celebration and was really pleased with the experience. The waitress was 5 stars, ( i think her name was Evie), really attentive and helpful. Food was great and the cocktails went down really well too. The only reason i haven't given 5 stars, is the wait time for the food was a little longer than we'd expect, but that's a minor point & we were a large group. Overall good value for money, in a lovely location.

So disappointing. Not a 1 star only because location is good. Very much want to make this a regular spot (great location and good decor) but the food is overpriced and disappointing - in particular the salads which at >GBP16 are a complete rip-off. The first, Spiced chickpeas, feta and charred orange wedges with mint arrived with barely a sprinkling of chickpeas and NO orange and mint. Despite my advice, on a later visit one of our group ordered a King prawn salad that came as a large bowl of lettuce, a handful of croutons and 4 "king" prawns that must be royalty of a very small country. Essentially a bowl of cesar salad and bread for over GBP16. So want this place to succeed as Gosport has nowhere else to go, but the food or Chef has to change. Service is full of youthful enthusiasm but average at best.

Best chippy by far, fresh battered fish every time, clearly a man who nows about his oil management and produces a quality product. Good conversation as well, hopefully I will see up North Patties soon. You have tried the rest, now try the best.

Excellent little chippy. It has recently been taken over by a new owner and the quality of food is absolutely amazing. I would argue that they could be the best chippy in Gosport right now! The chips are crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle and the batter they use is crunchy and not greasy in the slightest. Also I would recommend their home made curry sauce as it's the best curry sauce I've ever had (and I've been to a lot of chippys around the UK)

A hidden gem… not from Gosport, but will definitely be visiting again on our next trip down! Both the service and food exceptional! The cod and chips were sooo good. The cost was fantastic for four of us and very unusual to feed a family at this great value! Cracking little fish and chip shop with loads of charm… 👌🏻👍🏻
