The 2-course lunch menu is really good value. It is £12.50. It is available from noon to 4pm from Monday to Friday. The portion is generous. The food is lovely. We really enjoyed it.

Always good food and amazing chips with a bit of salt n vinegar but service can be very slow even when not that busy. Prices have been whacked up recently. Takeaway Nearly 5 pounds for a sausage in batter! and a similar price for a saveloy! I know you are in Cockfosters but get over yourselves! At the end of the day you are a chippy!! You may do some fancy food in your eat in bit and to fair it's good but seriously, charging almost 5 quid for a sausage. Taking The P !!

Wonderful fish selection!! The restaurant has both restaurant and takeaway. The restaurant is quite fancy and is a brilliant place to bring family or a date. The service was quick and efficient.

Large chips £6.90.with haddock £20.chips like cardboard.fuxh tasted like nothing.absolute rubbish.thats last penny they get from me so thanks for the expensive lesson this was takeaway prices.

Unfortunately I have to change my review. Ordered 4 large cods today and they were indeed quite large but the meat was grey and floury. Not sure if frozen or just old. Price was considerably high 13.90 just for the fish. Chips were good, but also in this case a generous portion enough for 2 people was 7 pounds. Happy to pay high prices if the food is good. In this case it was a let down... ‐-----‐--------‐---------------- Very good chippy. Food is consistently good, prices in line with quality.

First visit for me with a few friends and we was pleasantly surprised given the earlier reviews . We opted for the fish meZe set menu , which at £27 is great value compared with some on the restaurant in Cockfosters. Lots of tasty cold starters and hot starters included with a lovely choice of sea bream or sea bass at the end. We have visited a few meZe places in north london and this for me is in my top 3. The owner was very welcoming and service was on point all night , given it was a busy Saturday evening. We had baklava for dessert made in house was so delightful. Highly recommend

Without the threat of a doubt one of the best Fish and Chips shops in London. Fresh fish and chips. Unlike many the oil don’t stink. Give it a try if you are nearby but if you are a local give them a try.

The matzah meal fish is now a no go here they over cook it every time (they never used to) they argue about: as customer is seemingly wrong and they are right/ chips are hit or miss and now cooked in same oil as meat fyi. GONE SO DOWNHILL

Good luck getting the correct food! Three times I've ordered and three times I've been given the wrong food. Even when you call the shop they are not interested and blame the customer for ordering the wrong food.

After our train journey, we found ourselves craving a meal and spotted Chippers as we left Cockfosters Station. The warm welcome upon entering set the tone for a delightful experience. We were promptly seated, and our orders were taken. For starters, we enjoyed Taramasalata and Whitebait, both of which were delicious. Following that, our main courses, Scampi and Chips, and Skate with Salad, were presented and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional, and I would highly recommend it.

Friendly staff but let down by the quality of the fish. Cod is not large and flaky but small and crumbly. Expensive for what it is.

I was looking for a seafood restaurant in my local region and after reading the reviews for this place, I decided to reserve a table for my birthday with family. Outstanding, excellent service and a warm welcome. The waitress and owner were wonderful and the chiefs cooked amazing fresh fish/seafood. I ordered the meza hot & cold for three people and it was worth it. So much we took the rest home. The prawns, seabass, calamari, octopus with all dips and dessert delicious. I wish the restaurant was bigger it would attract even a bigger customer base. Thank you soo much my family were impressed and they are hard the please when it comes to food.

Maybe the worst restaurant I have been too. They must of kept me waiting in this horrible establishment for over 2 hours. They served us fish that looked like a greasy shallot, and tasted no better. It has put me off fish and chips for a long time.

Horrid experience from start to finish. £20 for one fish and chips brought us what I can only describe as a chewy inedible fish finger. Their poor excuse for tartar sauce was a tasteless mayo, the mushy peas being no better. Avoid.

The fish and chips are always fresh and the owner is friendly and always makes an effort to provide the best service. Chippers is equally as good for takeaway as it is when dining in the restaurant.

Great place for seafood. The starters we had were very tasty, although a bit small in portions. The main though made up for that by being a massive portion of haddock and chips, Fish was very crispy and the chips nicely done. Definitely recommend!

Sorry to say but won’t be coming back so much now. Service very sloppy. The fish, although wonderful is getting smaller and they charge a lot for their fish. We kept having to ask the owner for various items of food that he kept forgetting to bring.

The food is excellent, the fish is fresh and excellent, and the kebab looks great that my next mission. The service was excellent. I'll be back there soon.

Good value fish and chips served by friendly staff..

Went there on Thursday night about 6.30 ordered sausage in batter, pie and fish cake and chips. we unwrapped everything thing when we got home and we noticed the fish cake was off and I can honestly say I have never smelt anything so bad in all my life and it made me feel sick,when I took it back to the shop and told the staff it was off and told him to smell it he said it was fine,seriously no way but he refunded me and I left,needless to say I will never go there again

We were in Cockfosters on business and found this very quaint, classy well run establishment in the parade. We had Chicken Shish and Chicken Wings, Grilled, complete with rice, salad and soft drinks. The food was tasty, well cooked and prepared and the manager was courteous, well mannered and the customer service was wonderful. We will go there again as regulars as we live in Windsor Court in Southgate. Full marks to the restaurant in every way. Thanks Katarzyna and Steve. Windsor Court, Southgate.

I had a meal from the lunch menu Fish soup as a starter and had fish and chips. It was quite filling and enjoyed it .

Looks good from the outside but unfortunately the taste is nothing special, portions are small and very very expensive! I regret going there and I will definitely never go again. Don’t fall for old pictures & reviews in regards to portions as this not the case!

Not my first time nor the last at this lovely little spot on cockfosters. They never fail to surprise me with great food and good service. The owner has such a bubbly personality and is very attentive towards his customers. We had a lovely grilled sea bream alongside chips and a shepherds salad. For starters it was fried calamari, Mediterranean king prawns and garlic mushrooms which were very tasty. Give this place a visit, it’s superb!

Good evening, I didn’t like the service in this restaurant, the waiter, without listening to the whole order, ran to the kitchen to pass it on, and when he returned, I tried to continue ordering, to which I heard a caustic comment that he had already gone to the kitchen! I sincerely do not understand why the waiter is not able to listen to the order to the end, and then complains (after all, by and large, these are his direct duties!)

Really nice people who work there. I forgot my wallet to pay but the still let me take the food home and allowed me to come back another day to pay. I went back a few hours later. Quality of the food it very good. I would say sometimes the person I'm paying indicates they do prefer cash. Which makes you a bit uncomfortable because I never carry cash. Like most people now. But still the best fish and chips in the area

This is one of the most fabulous fish restaurants I have been to. The owner takes pride in a personal service and the skills of his chefs. Excellently sourced quality fish from Billingsgate most beautifully cooked. Fabulous seafood salad, chargrilled octopus, huge portion on fish meze, sumptuous fish soup all accompanied by delicious sides and nibbles to start at no extra charge. I cannot recommend this highly enough for a fish feast. Kebabs, salads and other options available. If you want a great fish meal this is the best! Also has a "Fish and chip" takeout which is top quality for your evening home meal after a long day at work. I urge you to give this delicious provider a try. You will not be disappointed.

Friendly local fish restaurant with excellent service. The Octopus I ordered was cooked to perfection, the Seafood Platter looked fresh and plentiful, will be ordering next time. Good quality food at reasonable prices, would definitely recommend.

Food is ok but the staff esp. those serving on the takeaway counter side are rude and unhelpful. When they can be bothered they'll serve you but if you ask a question or take a minute to rethink your choice - they have zero patience and that detracts from the 3/5* rating for food alone. Plus relative to other chippys they are expensive +++

Absolutely wonderful food, so welcoming & amazing atmosphere, we had been at the arsenal match beating Man U so we was rather hungry so as we walked back to the car we saw this amazing restaurant and was welcomed with a wide variety of food I had calamari, my father had skate said it was yummy but filling….. definitely be returning thank you for ending a fabulous day on a such a wonderful yummy meal…. Chippers is my favourite restaurant and I have been a regular customer for many years. On every occasion, I am always very happy with the level of service provided from all of the staff members, and especially the lovely owner of the restaurant who always works very hard to ensure that every single customer who visits Chippers is provided and presented with the best quality fresh food and the best quality service. The food is always perfect and on every occasion presented and tasted to a 5 star standard, the restaurant is always very clean and whenever I take friends and family members to eat at Chippers my guests are always very happy with the lovely food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant. Chippers is definitely highly recommended to all

If I could give 0 stars I would! My cod was off and absolutely stank! My partner has been vomiting since eating it and Chippers will take no responsibility! I even said I would drive back so they could smell how bad the fish smelt and they didn't care. They told me to 'blame the supplier' and 'take it up with them'. I was honestly astounded at the response! I didn't even ask for my money back, I just don't want this to happen to other people! Avoid at all costs if you don't want to get ill!

Chippers is a lovely seafood restaurant I normally order fish and chips and I am never disappointed ever I ordered fish burger and chips to be delivered and boy I was in food heaven like seriously it was cooked to perfection!

My daughter ordered the food online(much easier than going to collect it!). We ordered the battered haddock,1 grilled haddock,cod bites,mushy peas,curry sauce and chips,all delicious as usual!

A very pleasing surprise, much more here than I expected. Had a good selection of Mediterranean / Greek starters followed by good fresh fish n chips. We were very well looked after indeed, especially considering we can be a real pain!

Visited with the family for a Sunday lunch. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was amazing and huge portions. Lovely selection of fresh fish and the best taramosalata I have every tasted! I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back.

I haven't tried the fish and chips here, however the 'Chippers Special Mix' is really delicious and a good portion size. Definitely the best kebab in the area!

Very good food and friendly service

I've been eating here for years and its gone from strength to strength. On my most recent visit today they have surpassed themselves, warm fresh pitta bread with generous portions of authentic dips, olives, fresh crunchy veg and pickled peppers. The main course was simply Phenomenal, my father and I had a fish platter that was, generous, filling, fresh and cooked to perfection. The rich flavours combined with delicate soft fish served with hearty chips and a delightful fragrant mixed salad. Wow. Thank you Chippers, we'll be back soon. Thanks. James and Gary.

Great fish and chips. Didn't expect it to be so busy on a Monday, but just goes to show how good it is.

Popped in to have some dinner after a busy day in London. Friendly but slow service. No kids menu but happy to share mine so that wasn’t a problem but did seem to be an issue with a family on the next table. ( that said fairly sure we got served and charged for a large cod and chips when we asked for regular) Bit of a pet hate for me, we do not like olives/pickles/etc so when given a complimentary tray of these I feel it’s so wasteful and it makes us feel we are insulting them by not touching them. Anyway, more importantly, despite not being busy in the restaurant it took so long for our very simple order to arrive which was a shame as the food itself was lovely, albeit a bit pricey ( to supplement the olives etc perhaps?!)

I went there with my Kids to celebrate my Birthday on Wed 13th Oct 2021. Before Waiting to be Served, we had Complimentary Olives, Carrots and Sweet Green Peppers with toasted Olive Oil Dipped Bread slices to start our Evening. For Starter's we had Chargrilled Octopus, White Bait, Jumbo King Prawns and Mussels. For the Main Course we had the Fish Platter, which consisted of Jumbo King Prawns in Shell, Calamari Rings, Salmon Fillet, Sea Bass & Sea Bream Fillets, which came with Chips & Salad, which I shared with one of my Son's. My Daughter had Sea Bream Fillet, and my other son & Daughter-in-Law both had Chicken Shish Kebabs which came with Rice & Salad. For After's we had a lovely Fresh Fruit & Nut Cake which my Daughter brought in from outside to surprise me, which the Restaurant presented on a Glass Cake Plater which was very thoughtful of them and everyone in the Restaurant sung Happy Birthday to me 🎵 🎶 🎵. The taste of all the food was so tender and cooked to perfection, but the Service was Impeccable. We had new Cutlery and Plates for every serving, and our Table was wiped clean every time too by Fatima. Many Thanks to Hussein, but a very special Thank You to Fatima who went far and beyond with the Impeccable Service she gave us that made my Birthday a very Memorable Celebration. We will definitely be going back there again to try out more dishes and Pre-Order the Lobster too next time.

A Rare thing indeed. A Restaurant that does it all and manages to do it well. I went for the Lamb Shish and it was the best I've had this year. Lovely tender Lamb, lots of fresh Salad in a warm Pita Bread. I will be back to sample the Fish and Chips.

Food was really good, cod and chips which came with side salad and sauces. Complimentary garlic bread and nibbles for starters. Service was very slow however, and card machine didn't work so had to go to hole in the wall just outside to draw cash. We were given complimentary Turkish coffee and watermelon at the end which were both very good, suspect this was simply to make up for the slow service and the problems with the card machine.

Food good but service needs a lot of work if you are Greek or Turkish staff go over the top but if you're not they just ignore You

This is the second time I have eaten from chippers once eat in and just now ordered from Deliveroo. And once again very happy. We get the fish platter for two and you get so much including the chips and salad which is why I love ordering and will continue to order from them, as it can be pricey when you first look but if you think about how much fish and chips and salad your getting it’s not a bad price at all and the fish is cooked great, lovely and tender just comes off the folk how fish is meant to be. Today the salmon was a little over cooked but still tasted good and it is not normally over cooked. The salad is delicious!! And like I said the portion of chips were huge! Exactly what you want when you order a fish platter so please don’t ever change your portion sizes, or the type of fish you get with it. Also the calamari that comes with the fish platter is good, usually when we order from other places it’s rubbery and chewy and just not great but here it is actually quite decent, cooked well and crispy. So over all very happy and the delivery didn’t take too long either. :) so a happy customer and a returning customer. Defo recommend to all.

One of the best Fish and Chips places I've been to. My meal was about £11 but worth every penny. Fish was coated really well and crispy. Chips were cooked properly with golden highlights. Curry sauce was the highlight of the menu. It was made perfect, had a nice consistency and sweet flavour. Not many shops in London that match this level of quality.

For once we actually went to Chippers instead of using Just Eat. Really impressed with how clean the place is! The fish was freshly cooked, moist and tender, and the batter deliciously crisp. My cousin and his wife both remarked how good the fish and chip were, not at all greasy. I confirmed that's why we continue to use Chippers when we are in Southgate. The portion sizes cannot be faulted, eight of us enjoyed excellent fish and chips! Thanks Chippers for another excellent meal.
