Had another take away from here for 4 people and everyone ate well and were happy. Just remember it's cash only which is a bit annoying for 2024 but if you're a regular you know this.

Burgers aren’t a good recommendation to get on their menu. Pretty awful.

The fish and chips from George’s was amazing! The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were both perfectly fluffy and crispy. To top it off the staff members were AMAZING! The best fish and chips in London highly highly recommend

Another great chip shop that has been around for as long as I can remember. I was a local in the 90's and will always go back here when I'm in the area and want Cod & Chips!

I came up from Birmingham to visit my mum with my partner, we decided to eat here and food was AMAZING, customer service was top notch and the guy who served us was friendly. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

Excellent Fish and chips the best I think in Enfield. Fosh is sea fresh and taste delicious every time . Salads are also really nice too.. Eating in or out you cant go wrong . Service is alway with a smile and big portions of chips..

Established for over 40 years, the original Georges Fish shop that started in St Anne's road N13. Lovely fish and chips, scampi and other starters. It gets very busy,, especially Fridays. Cash only .

I visited this small fish and chips restaurant last week. The staff were friendly , portions were fair and clean place. I would only say that you have to pay cash only and that when sitting down the food seemed to take quite a while to come. We ordered large fish and chips which we shared . Cost £16

Easily the best fish and chips in Enfield. Always cooking the fish fresh to order and quality is incredible. My family of 7 have been coming here pretty much every Friday for a takeaway for the last few years and always happy with the food. Highly recommend the haddock and chips.

Yesterday I bought cod,chips and saveloy for my young grandchildren. The cod was ok but the saveloy must have been so old that the poor child could hardly bite into it. Never, ever buying food from that place again!

The absolute best fish and chips in London (and UK). This place honestly is better than the many times I’ve been down to Cornwall, Southend and the lot. The service is so personal - shout out to Kaya, Bobby, and the lovely ladies! I cannot give this place more credit if I tried.

Spent whole day at North Middlesex Hospital with the wife who wasn't allowed to eat for 24 hours. Got home and ordered fish and chip through Just Eat. Spent £32. Got text saying food had been delivered. No food was delivered. Lost the money. Contacted George's but not interested. Be careful ordering from here.

Lovely family run businness with top rate table service and friendly team of staff. Food quality and always of the desired standard at affordable prices. Lots of takeaway business as well proves they are doing things right.

£5 for a large chips (most I've ever paid for take away chips) and portion was pretty standard, ie not 'large'. Quite stingy and looked the same as other two standard portions I bought. Never again. Portion control George's!

Very disappointed with food. The cod roe poorly wrapped and when unwrapped the Cod Roe stuck to the wrapping paper and half of it was lost further the Chips were very hard and inedible extremely disappointed so won’t be visiting this eatery again!

Ordered large fish and chips. Got a regular sized fish and about as many chips and can fill up a cup. And the sausage couldn't of been any more cheap and processed if they tried. Avoid this rip off place. I won't go there again

Went to George Fish Bar for the first time a few weeks ago. Super friendly staff. Great chips and generous portions. This is probably going to be my new go to place for fish & chops.

I’ve been here three times and each time I ask for a lot of salt and vinegar on my chips. Which doesn’t happen. I can’t taste it on them at all. The chips also seem like oven chips and are a floppy mess

George’s senior male staff member said “Pay me first, so you don’t run out with your chips”. I am highly disappointed with this comment. He clearly judged me by the colour of my skin! I am a regular here and to be told this was shocking and offensive. I will never step foot in this place again! George, your staff are rude and judgemental. This happened today at 4:30!

Would give - stars if I could. Food was not only bland but also so undercooked it gave me and my son salmonella. We were throwing up for a week. When I raised this issue to the manager, he told me he could not control what was happening in the kitchen and could only offer me a 10% off voucher!! Absolutely disgusting do not eat here unless you’d like to visit the ER for the next couple days.

Honestly cannot find one single "negative" thing to say about this. This was one of the best, if not the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was SO FRESH, not oily, the fish did not smell of oil or fried like many other places, the fish was so fresh and white, and the chips were out of this world, as well as the portions! We love to have fish and chips with the kids. It’s become a family tradition, which George’s fish bar has become a part of. Eating in is our preference as we feel the batter tastes better for some reason, don’t ask us why. They are lovely people with great food. You can usually tell when a fish and chip shop is good as it usually gets packed, which it does. Would highly recommend for the best F&C in Enfield Town.

Chips were ok but spring roll was a waste of money. £3 for a spring roll that is mainly onions and very little carrot and bean shoots.

I wrote a review recently for what I thought was this establishment but didn't realise it was for nearby George's Fish & Chips (which I'm sure is good) rather than the 'Original' Georges I intended to review. So I will repeat my review for the correct shop. I have been a customer of George's for many years and have never been disappointed. Fish always great and good portions of chips.

This is the best fish and chip shop, bar none. I cannot wait to go back again. We always eat in, the staff are friendly. I always have haddock, mum has plaice and dad has cod. The fish is lovely and white and the batter is perfect as are the chips, all cooked freshly to order. It's the only place I'll have fish and chips. 😊

Just ate at this place and must admit the food was excellent and service satisfactory. We chose Georges because we had previously eaten here, and we preferred a cheaper alternative to some of the more expensive nearby restaurants. We thought, you can't really go wrong with Fish and Chips. We both had large Cod and Chips and a soft drink and ate in. The food was excellent and plentiful, and we were extremely happy with our choice until we came to pay the bill. I probably should have checked the prices before ordering and expected to pay slightly more than usual in view of the current economic climate, but i was flabbergasted when i was informed that the bill had come to £32! FOR FISH AND CHIPS! I have checked with other local chips shops, and they are not charging anywhere near the same so will definitely avoid until they drop their prices a bit.

Best fish and chips for miles around

Wow, this is the best Fish and Chips around. Always fresh and proper cod no cheap fish off cuts. It gets delivered with no oils dripping and soaked boxes. They sell the best pies and chips are always cooked lovely and fresh potatoes. Well done George keep it up and good luck!!!

Nice man behind counter asked where my wife was. i told him she was poorly and was not eating, he asked me to get her on the phone and proceeded to tell her that she should eat something, he made my wife a salad and put cod and chips in my bag and did not charge me for my wife's food, many thanks for your kind actions.

George's good fish and chip shop not really my local but I use it nothing wrong with the food value for money not sure on that one. The only thing I don't like is the fact that advertis fresh fish daily,.It is not possible to get fresh fish on weekends and Monday's, last catch is in the market Friday morning no market Saturday's Sunday's or Monday's, that is why fish and chip shops traditionally never open on Monday's so the fish you eat on Monday's must be frozen not fresh daily but don't let me stop you it's not bad atoll

I spent 40 minutes waiting for a piece of cod and gave up and left empty handed. They only seemed interested in for filling the delivery orders. They don’t appear to care if you’re standing in the shop waiting. For that reason I will never visit them again. Which is a shame as the food is usually delicious.

Ordered for delivery on 4.6.22, quick service, chips decent, fairly large portion. The fish was out of this world though. Came in a box, 3 pieces, 2 small pieces, and a larger one, great portion for the price. The cod was genuinely amazing, the best fish I've had in London in 20+ years. 🔥👏
