Good food, friendly staff. Not many seafood restaurants in the area, this was a good shout. Wouldn't be a regular visit, but nice to eat here every so often. Prawns were chewy and overcooked, not a deal breaker. 4 stars.

Lovely atmosphere, great friendly staff, family oriented with great food. Beautiful seafood starter. Will visit again for the lobster which was sadly not available on the day of my visit.

Fui con una amiga a su vez almuerzo especial de abadejo frito y patatas fritas - muy decepcionados. Abadejo era pequeña y tenía mucho mejor y no lo suficiente pescado. Patatas fritas estaba pasada y cuando pregunté a la camarera nos dijo que era el tipo de patatas, y que sería la próxima semana cambiar 'a' otro tipo. Creo que fue re-patatas fritas

10 de nosotros fuimos allí en un sábado por la noche, me sorprendió ver que el restaurante estaba completamente vacío (pronto descubrí por qué).

Así, de última hora a las 7 de la tarde una noche de sábado llamé m, preguntando si había una mesa disponible para esa misma noche. Una mesa!

Let's cut straight to the point here; the manager/owners attitude was absolutely disgusting. I took my family and parents to dinner, booked for 6.30.After having good a few traditional Greek starters we waited for our main course.Myself and my father both ordered steak and the rest various other dishes.Everybody's mains arrived followed by one of the fillet steaks. Well, the steak was cut into slices......That's not what I expected at all. I called the manager over who said that ghey cut it up to cook it quicker but I didn't accept it and sent it away. We were told it would take about 10 mins uses because they had to wait for something or other to heat up......well one of the steaks was supposed to be cooked medium so I didn't get that.Anyway, about 30 to 40 minutes later, after everyone else had finished eating, the steaks arrived. One was well done but the other was a bit overcooked (not quite medium). The food wasn't really the problem but thee manager/owner. I complained about the wait just before the steaks arrived so the manager came over to see what the problem was. At this point I just started to cut into the steak.I explained that everyone else had ready eaten and that the steaks took a lot longer than 10 mins. He started trying to give me excuses about how he asked if we would wait 10 mins and that we agreed to wait. When I told him that it was a lot longer than 10 minutes, instead of apologising he gave me attitude when he realised that I wasn't interested in his excuses and told us that if we didn't like it we should leave. At that point I got a bit annoyed with him and told him to go away and leave us to eat, which he then did.We asked for the bill when we finished and it arrived.I'm not the type to complain about nothing and understand that things can go wrong sometimes but when the owner gives you attitude like that it's just not on.I paid the bill in full and will never go back again!

Delicious food. Baby friendly. Special offers for 2 & 3 courses. Would highly recommend if you are a piscetarian. This is my 5th visit & I have already planned my next one

I normally go to Thalassa for business lunches as they have a great variety of lunch options and the set lunch deal is exceptional value!However, I came here tonight with my girlfriend and was recommended to go for the hot seafood platter. I've been to many great restaurants all over the world and tend to follow reviews on Trip Advisor but this is truly the best seafood platter that I've had. The Italian chefs here at Thalassa have produced amazing food tonight. We had a great Prosecco and the meal was great value! One tip don't order a starter you won't need it the platter is enormous. Thanks again David for the recommendation!

Visited for lunch and had the set menu which was good value. I had 3 king prawns in a garlic and herb sauce they were so tasty and cooked really well. My main was seafood linguine, this was piping hot and a good sized portion, it contained calamari, clams mussels and a king prawn. It was really tasty and such good value. My husband had haddock and chips which he really liked.The batter looked so light and the chips were good and not at all greasy. Our waiter Brian was very friendly and efficient and kindly helped my partially sighted husband to the toilets, we were very impressed by him. We will definitely be returning to this lovely restaurant.

Brilliant food, brilliant service. Absolutely brilliant staff. We had a large group and we were catered for extremely well. Davide, Pierre and George were very accommodating, helpful and welcoming. Well recommend.

Visited hear many times and would have recommended. This time was different- Food was really basic, starter and main both served with a low key salad and main fish dish with cold potatoes, nothing special at all.Was sick the next day and I usually have a strong stomach- the fish can't have been cooked properly.Shame as waiters were really friendly and lovely

We've been a few times before. The lobster is always good, as are the fish dishes. Service this time was ok but we were forgotten after our main course, I think they were short staffed. The whole restaurant and toilets are just worn out. The bench seats look like they have had a major argument with some fighting cats, they are ripped and shabby. We are happy to pay for an expensive meal but the restaurant needs to be updated urgently.

Just visited Thalassa seafood restaurant in southgate, been there many times before, always with a group of six to eight of us. Well what can I say... The food was amazing tonite very very tasty I had the roasted vegetables with goats cheese, really nice. My main was lamb chops on a bed of ratatoullie sauce very nice too. Didn't have a dessert but others on my table did & they loved them. The staff were and are always friendly & helpful. George the head waiter is very accommodating. On the whole a lovely evening. Will be going back soon.

So we were guests, and our hosts seemed to be regulars. Nothing outstanding about the place and the food was serviceable. There was actually something on the menu my wife could order without the floor staff going into a confused shock. As our guests paid for the meals have no idea if it was good value for money or not.

Visited here with my girlfriend, the staff are very friendly including the main host George. The food is fresh and was tasty, the service was prompt. I would visit again for lunch but it wouldn't be my first choice for dinner. I would advise to ask about how the dishes are served, my mrs had the red mullet on a special and it was served battered whole and was full of bones. This is typical of Med food obviously but there was no indication it would be served this way and it can make for alot of effort for little meat. Also if you are going for the mixed fish grill ask what it comes with as it doesn't state on the menu.The Tiramisu is probably one of the best puddings I've ever tried.On the whole a restaurant worth visiting and no real negatives.

Thalassa is a top Restaurant as usual, had a business dinner last Friday night, and the food and service have been amazing, precise attention to details.I keep bringing my business partners to Thalassa, and I wouldn't never swop it for another local Restaurant.

As a party of 12 we visited the restaurant on Saturday 1st October, table was booked for 8.30pm. Starters arrived without a long wait, however at 10.30pm we were still waiting for our mains to arrive, way too long! When it finally arrived it wasn't very nice at all. During our time there we had to ask a few times for our drinks to arrive as they had forgotten them, at the end of the night (midnight) we were eating dessert, I ordered myself a cappucino, the waitress brought it over to me (she had forgotten the first time and had to be reminded, again!) and it had bright red lipstick mark on the cup..... terrible! Actually made me feel sick, she did bring me a replacement, however I couldn't finish it.For the money we paid I would never visit again, sorry to say I will not recommend this restaurant to friends/family either.So disappointed.......

Visited as part of a surprise birthday party; was impressed with the selection on the menu whereas my daughter was impressed with the fish tanks. My daughter went for surf and turf, an adult portion; I decided not to have a starter and ordered a lobster burger (£14:50). When my daughters food was served she had half a lobster and a healthy steak too. As the lobster was consumed within 2 minutes and he fact she ate over half of the steak I took it that she liked it, a lot.My lobster burger was nice but I ate most of the burger outside the bun as it didn't hold together - it tasted good and I enjoyed it.Overall it was a nice meal, no negatives were heard from the other guests. If I am in that part of London again and fancy some seafood I'd go back - my daughter wouldLove to go back as she is a big seafood fan!

We stopped by for an impromptu birthday lunch for my little one. Lunch specials ordered all round, hot tasty food. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive and made a fuss over my daughter which helped make her day.

A pleasant enough restaurant, and reasonable food.... I would go back again, but you just came out of smelling of food on your clothes.... Huge put off

As it was a Monday they were short on a few dishes, which was a pity. Tried the crab linguini, lots of rather greasy pasta hiding a shortage of crab meat. Disappointing. My partner tried the lobster linguini which had more meat and was better. Service very friendly and helpful.

Visited here for a birthday meal and it did not disappoint. The black cod was superb. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.

Recently dined at Thalassa Seafood restaurant in Southgate, North London. The service was excellent, the waiters/waitresses frequently asking if we needed anything and if everything was ok. We had fish meze which is basically a small amount of each fish dish (octopus, fried kalamari etc) then seabream for the main dish but both my partner and I found that most of the time we could not taste the flavour of the fish, we could only taste the garlic and olive oil which most dishes were covered in. The scallops, banoffee pie dessert and service were excellent but unfortunately most of the fish dishes were not.

We have visited Thalassa many times and it is our favourite restaurant in Southgate. We brought a friend out for a birthday dinner so it was a special occasion. Nice table as requested, very good and friendly service, great starters and good wine (though I think the alcohol is priced high). Our mains on this occasion were disappointing (all three). I mentioned this after the fact (definitely over cooked, lacking in an ingredient and somewhat under seasoned) but this should have been obvious at when leaving the kitchen. I would advocate the starters over the desserts anytime. Generally an excellent option but felt a bit let down on the quality this time, I'm sorry to say especially given the final bill.

Have been to this restaurant several times and have always found the food excellent.The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.My daughter is gluten intolerant and they are happy to change dishes to accommodate her needs .Can not rate it highly enough first class !!

My family and I were in the area and decided to have a meal at Thalassa, as we had heard great things. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the staff friendly and the service was quick and efficient. I was also extremely impressed by the quality of the food itself and would highly recommend this restaurant to everybody.By the way catch me if you can dish is feast for your palate.

Having visited previously and really enjoyed it, I felt it was time to revisit. Would the food be as good as before? The answer was, 'yes, yes, yes'. Unbelievable quality, tastes and presentation. This time we went for the lovely Devon Crab and avocado salad starter, followed by the marvellous Shellfish platter which had a great selection of things including a lobster, razor clams, calamari and langoustine. What a treat for the taste buds! There was so much to eat we couldn't even manage a pudding! My wife was so impressed that I'm still in her good books several days later, particularly as they had an unlimited prosecco offer! Let's just say that we left full and rather merry! Can't praise this place enough. The staff were so welcoming too! Can't wait to return.

Have frequently visited this restaurant over the years but since it recently changed ownership it has unfortunately gone downhill! On our last visit with friends the service was slow, the food not as plentiful and the wine ordered was not in stock despite ordering two different bottles! Instead one of the owners recommended an Italian wine which to be honest was not brilliant and certainly not worth the money which was charged! Sadly will not be going back!

We had a lovely first visit to thalassa, the guy that greeted us was really nice and friendly the waitress was lovely and so was all the other waiters, they made our evening perfect. Food was delicious and in fact so much we couldnt finish it. Nice atmosphere too will be going there again very soon

I have been a client of this restaurant for a while since i was living locally, but have moved abroad, and paid a visit on my last trip to London.I suddenly saw the change in the management and had second thoughts about the standard, but by the time i had finished my supper i had no doubts that this was the most amazing meal i had in a long time!First of all the enthusiasm and passion of the new owner for what he was doing, trying to be head with his recipes, but still trying not to scare the old clients like me away, was already a thumb up!The new entries to the menu, was a refreshening touch to the old and traditional way of the old school dishes that needed some fresh ideas...I was there with my wife, and we indulged ourself with jelly oysters with champagne, carpaccio, risotto seafood, grilled brazino, and toped up with a delicious desert..The quality spoke for itself. The presentation, the explanation of each dish hand crafted by the new owner was just a divine combination of the mediterranean flavors brought to this amazing restaurant in north London..I was so overwhelmed with this experience that i went back a second time before ending my holidays!And guys, i am a restaurateur myself , so i am very picky and careful with my food.So big thank you guys for making a dining experience so fun, and can't wait to be back next time i'm around!

From the minute we walked in to Thalassa everything was perfect from the service, wait time, appetizers to the main course. The food has amazing quality and the ownership of the restaurant is extremely pleasant with a great approach to customers. Our food was delicious with all the orders. The service is great quality and with a smile. The fish is fresh, tasty and I can't complain about the portion sizes or any aspect of this restaurant.

I've tried Thalassa Seafood Restaurant with my boyfriend - both seafood lovers - and I must say we had a great time there. At Thalassa we found all we were looking for: romantic dinner, lovely food (Surf and Turf...my favourite!), great music, great fun, the nicest service. We went there on the "Amy Winehouse Tribute" Night (I lllllove Amy!) and I can't wait for the next Elvis night. I know we have to book in advance as it's always sold out! Four of us went along to Thalassa on Wednesday evening for a meal and to watch an Amy Winehouse tribute. It was one of the very best nights we have had with an incomparable atmosphere. The food was superb, the service was excellent (thank you George - we all felt totally spoilt!!!)and "Amy" was fantastic. I am not sure how the roof stayed on with all the dancing and singing. It was a just like a New Year's Eve party but in the middle of July. Even passers by were looking through the window and saying "wow"! It truly was a night to remember and one we will be talking about for some time. We all felt like we were on holiday. Thank you Thalassa.

This place has definitely gone downhill. I always enjoyed lunch here but have been very disappointed. Distinct smell when you enter the restaurant which was not there before and the food is not the same quality. I think they may be using cheaper ingredients.

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times before but have discovered that dishes are presented better and generally taste a lot better than before due to a change of hand. A very pleasant surprise. The service was great and the dishes were served quite quickly. What's more, there is no service charge! Truly discretionary service charge which is nice but the service was so good we ended up giving tips anyway. We ordered a few starters and 3 mains for 4 people and couldn't finish the mains. The portions were really big and well worth the price. For starters we recommend the scallops - well cooked and flavoured. For mains really recommend the seafood pasta (we had the lobster pasta and crab meat pasta) - I would say it tasted better than any other local restaurants and even some restaurants in central London. The pasta was al dente. There was a generous amount of seafood and the seafood was really fresh. The fish we ordered was also really good. Generally really happy with the experience and improved food. Would really recommend this restaurant and would definitely return often as it's very convenient for us.

I dined midweek in a group of 5. Thalassa had such a great atmosphere especially with the entertainment. The food and service was amazing and it was a night out well spent!

Came here today as often walk past but have never tried,we weren't disappointed,I came with my Daughter.I had Parmigiana to start with which was delicious and very filling,sea bass and salad for main,Daughter had halloumi and tomotoe for starters and sea bass for main.Fantastic value for money,also such friendly and helpful staff.Our waitress Emily was really lovely.Would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning

We had the seafood meze and I'd definitely have this again. It was a lot of food at a decent price. The staff had some cheeky banter too which is what you want.

So this was the third time we had been to the restaurant and the second time we indulged in the Imperial Grilled Seafood platter. Never has the word 'indulged' been more apt. Having had one before I declined my inclination to have a starter. Good decision. The platter comes with clams, mussels, squid, octopus, prawns, langoustine, and the crowning glory a whole lobster. It is a mountain of food for even my partner and I who have no small appetite for shellfish. And such good quality. The mussels and clams are steamed and very tender and so sweet. The octopus was very soft, tho this time the squid, served in lovely large chunks was a bit tough. This was not the case last time, and still very tasty. The prawns and langoustine were full of flavour and the lobster.... well it was lobster and lovely! And the best bit is that is all grilled or steamed, so healthy and the flavours are fresh and true. You can ask for any number of dips. We had mayonnaise, chilli and tartar. The staff are friendly and attentive. A perfect meal for my birthday.

Three friends and I came for dinner and was appalled by the quality of the food. We ordered the grilled lobster and lobster burger.The grilled lobster was small, randomly filled with little bits of lobster, tasteless, and overcooked and therefore chewy. It didn't seem like the lobster bits were part of one whole lobster, perhaps just half altogether, we didn't even get the main claw. Therefore, the lobster was expensive due to the portion size. I think the menu should state how much you charge per kg of lobster bits so customers have an idea of how expensive it will be. Additionally, our guests complained that the brioche bun wasn't even real brioche.Whilst the atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant looked nice, the food was not as expected. Additionally, I felt that the staff were very friendly.We paid £36 + vat for one small lobster.

i'm italian and so hard to please,but i have to say,this place deliver it all.Best fresh sea food,massive portion,top service in very high standard I definitely want to come back again and try one by one all the menu which looks so appetite.Amazing experience

We were a group of friends celebrating a birthday. We really had a fun evening. Music and food was fantastic!! Can/t wait for another Elvis night!

You're always guaranteed great food and great service at Thalassa! A "must visit" place if you haven't already been!

A mixed review inasmuch as the food is really, really good, but they did try to sting us on the bill. Perhaps unintentionally, however they presented us with an unitemised bill and had I not remembered the rough price of the dishes, they would have taken us for an extra £10. Multiple that by the number of diners and you have a nice little side earner. A shame as they really didn't need to do that given the food is truly fab; and frankly, it hasn't stopped us going back, but we always ask for an itemised bill now. Lesson Learned.On to the actual dining experience, I am being totally straight when I say their paella is the best I've ever had - and my grandparents lived in Spain, so I can speak from some knowledge having had authentic paella over an open fire in the hills around Murcia. Perhaps not to be expected from a Greek restaurant, but there you go. Judge not.The octopus is very good as it everything we've ever eaten there, so go, enjoy and know what it costs. (Incidentally, the prices are very fair given the fare.)

I had a nice lunch with my daughters, all food was excellent, tasty and fresh. We had a nice starter a good filled pasta and an amazing sea bream Fish dishes are always a bet but in this restaurant you can win! Thank you to Piero he was also nice to us (should be the menager)

We had a lovely meal in Thalassa with great seafood and beautiful presentation. Even our 2 year old was munching away on all the prawns, octopus and clams and the huge mix platter.After we shared the handmade ravioli that the waiter recommended and they were divine! The linguini was very very good.Our son was running around the restaurand looking at the fish in the fishtanks and the staff were very nice about it and playing with him. Our son even hugged and kissed one of them when we left which is very unusual of him.Would definitely go again and recommentd this place for families.

My daughter took me for dinner I had traditional cod fish and chips, and my daughter had sea bass with beetroot and potatoes... The food was fantastic gr8 potion, wonderful atmosphere only draw back was the fish had a lot of bones every mouthful had bones and the tables wer too small, if u ordered 3 different kind of starters it wouldn't fit over all we enjoyed the food it was fresh, there wer tanks full of piranha and lobsters, the managers wer very friendly, will surely go back

Feeling like something local and seafood Thalassa was a good option.We came here for dinner, this was our first time.For starters they brought out some complimentary bread with a balsamic vinegar which was very nice, we also ordered the Calamari and that came out quite quickly which was nice as we were hungry. The Calamari and accompanying aubergine was very fresh and tasty, my one qualm with this dish was that it was a bit salty for my liking.For the mains we ordered the whole lobster with chips and half a lobster with pasta. We were asked if we were ready for mains which was a nice touch as a lot of places just bring it out without checking first. The mains came out in good time and looked amazing, presentation was very well done and all of the food looked fresh and was very tasty. The whole lobster and chips were very good and there was a good amount of lobster and it was seasoned well. I had the pasta with lobster which was equally good but again the salt in the pasta was a little high.Overall the customer service and ambience of the restaurant is nice and it is an enjoyable place to have an evening meal. I would advise that you check your bill as we were charged for 4 drinks instead of two! However this was rectified with the staff and we were given the difference!

Myself and my wife have visited Thalassa for a Sunday lunch, we also took along four friends of us. The service has been fast and efficient, the two Managers ( Piero and Davide) looked after our table in the best possible way.As a starter we shared a selection of Italian and Greek antipasti suggested by Davide,perfectly cooked and served, tasted sublime. We also ordered our own individual mains, a selection of pastas, meat, and seafood dishes, great portions, and again sublime taste. I have left the other Manager Piero to choose the wine for us, and we had a fantastic bottle of New Zealand Savignon Blanc. Overall we had a Lovely experience, it was our first time at Thalassa, and I would personally suggest Thalassa Restaurant, value for food, service, and money.Healthy eating, healthy living.

Went for lunch and I had the cod and chips which was lovely, fresh fish and lovely handcut chips which were very tasty. My friend had the seafood salad which was disappointing and tasteless. Bit of a disappointment

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime. The service was good although they were busy and the food arrived nice and hot. The staff was pleasant and we had a great time.

Went for the two course lunch special on a quite mid week day and they lost our order for the second course so we waited far too long for our food. They apologised but it was unacceptable as it was a quiet mid week day not a Saturday night! Don't bother going!!!!

Amazing food, lobster spaghetti particularly tasty! Staff are so lovely too. Felt like I was in Cyprus having my dinner. They even gave a lovely free desert and sang happy birthday for my boyfriend when they heard it was his birthday. Such a nice touch x

i've been in this restaurant before..but then a friend of mine told me that the owners changed...curious of the news i reserved a table with my friends!i was soo impressed from the service and the new menu!i was a bit scared to try new things ...and yet so surprised!the owner was so kind that he even called a minicab for us!

Came here for my boyfriends birthday, worth a trip! I had the mixed starter and monkfish linguine and he had the oysters and lobster, both of which were brilliant. Inside decor was lovely and is only a 5 minute walk from Southgate underground!

This restaurant is excellent! I came to Thalassa for lunch with my wife as I heard from friends that the restaurant was recently taken over and that the new proprietors were doing great things. Boy were they right! The new specials we tried were fantastic, particularly the gorgeous Lobster ravioli which was topped with clams, scallops and lobster chucks and the delicious vegetarian potato filled ravioli cooked in a creamy pesto sauce. Portions were very generous as well. The homemade tiramisu and the banoffi pie we ate for dessert were to die for! I can't praise the waiters highly enough either. They were attentive and professional. I was very impressed when the manager called Giampiero came over to talk to us as he was friendly and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back. At last we have found a West End style top quality restaurant in our local area!

The food was of the highest quality and delicious...........The service was also excellent and Davide the Manager was very attentive and made sure that we had a wonderful meal and Evening. We will definitely be returning. Very good value for money also

Great food great service great atmosphere.Real Mediterranean cousin. The lobster pasta was so Italian that when arrived it said ciao! Cooked al dente. We will go back for sure.

We went to this restaurant for my birthday meal and had soggy chips, fish floating in oil, glasses got stuck to newly varnished table, and my dairy free order appeared covered in butter! Luckily I noticed and sent it back.....was told it was a simple mistake! They kindly gave us a free night cap on leaving. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly..

Came here with my friend, heard the food was expensive but nice I ordered the monk fish with spinach and roast potatoes, These were not home made roast potatoes but frozen and had absolutely no flavour and uncooked in the middle Very small portion meal at £15.99 (tried to not show the disappointment on my face). My friend was also disappointed with her meal. Cutting a long story short, we paid for our meals separately and realized when we left we were conned out of an extra £4. The bill was not itemised and please note there is a service charge. I am afraid we will not be returning to this restaraunt

We visited Thalassa last Thursday 10th march evening and we had a lovely dinner. The dishes were wonderful and the service friendly. Most important thing was that we found real Mediterranean taste which since we moved to London from our country we didn't find.Definitely come back.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Our original party grew to double in size. Many thanks to the staff who managed to fit us all in. Got to say food was amazing as always. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Booked to ensure a table even though it was midweek. A warm welcome when we arrived.The menu is mainly fish based although they do have a chicken, lamb and steak dishes. They don't really cater for vegetarians. There is usual a good selection of specials. We were not pressured to place our order. Even though it was busy our courses arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant has a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.As usual the meal was of good quality and well prepared. The meal was not cheap but it was good value for money.

I have visited this restaurant many times and even wrote a rave review but last week was my first, and last, experience of their set menu. The TWO course meal, starter and a main, was £30.00 per person even though one member of our party was a vegetarian. A deposit was required at the time of booking and we had to pre-order from the menu? We were a party of three. Our dining slot was 1pm to 3.30pm. We arrived at 1.10pm and our food was so pre-prepared that we were out of the restaurant just before 2pm (we had arranged to meet up with family at 3.30pm, so we were keeping an eye on the time). Each table had a spray carnation stem with flower heads that were either broken or droopy. There was not a stick of bread or a leaf of salad included in the dining experience. I had the lobster linguine, a dish I had enjoyed at Thalassa on a previous visit but on this occasion it was dry and chewy. The vegaterian meal was even more disappointing. Even though we arrived hungry, no one in the party enjoyed the food enough to finish their meal. The service was very efficient but slightly panicked and nervy rather than warm and friendly; surprising because the restaurant was half empty for the entire time we were in there! The final bill - set menu with a bottle of water was £103.00...I would genuinely have had a greater sense of satisfaction if I had donated the money to charity. The only saving grace was a complimentary glass of prosecco at the start of the meal. After we left the restaurant we walked across the road to Wilton Patisserie for desert - interestingly our coffee and cake took longer to prepare and consume than ou two course Mothering Sunday Special at Thalassa.

Went for a family birthday visit including young children. Ordered a starter & main. This took 2.5 hours +. Kids were getting cranky so had to leave. All was fine, in fact food was good. Simply terribly slow service. They were not busy so not sure why this was the case.

Starter wasnt bad, cutllery was terrible and old. felt sorry for the waiter as he was like a fish out of water (in a seafood restaurant haha) didnt know anything we asked but may be new. Some dishes were ok but the chips were too thick, under done and soggy, not cyprus chips at all and i mean you should be able to get chips right.

I'd been wanting to visit Thalassa for a while, so was really looking forward to a get together with a group of friends with some delicious sounding food...However, the night was unfortunately a real disappointment... The service was extremely slow with the exception of the starters which were already out on the table when we arrived! When we did get the food in dribs and drabs, there was not nearly enough for 15 people. What little food there was, was actually really good!Apparently we should have ordered at the time of booking if we wanted meat which we weren't aware of and although the fish was nice, we would have liked to be able to order some meat! The cost was £21.95 per head which would have been reasonable if there was more food!We did get a bottle of wine and desserts by way of apology but one of our group had visited the week before and experienced the same level of service. So this clearly isn't a one off.Such a shame because this restaurant has the potential to be really good but the night was such a let down. I think they just were far too over subscribed and unable to cope with the demand.

Very poor value both starters and main course for both me and my quest. For example 3 Ksmall King pawns for nearly £7. Quality of food also poor. Poor service by some of the male waiters there. More interested in joking around than serving.

As far as restaurants go this is very nice, the staff are confident and attentive but I was quite disappointed with the food, it was at best average seafood. One of our group had the lamb shank and he said that wasnt very nice. Hayho, palettes are different and this is not for us, not cheap either

My boyfriend and myself went for an anniversary meal here last night, and from start to finish it was an excellent night. I booked by email on the day and received a friendly response to confirm. We arrived and were given a choice of tables - we were obviously cold so they offered us a table near a heater, and gave us a 4 seater table for just the two of us. The first waiter was really friendly but not overbearing, and the second was slightly more reserved but still very polite. We ordered a bottle of wine, which came quickly; we tasted and the waiter poured us both a glass, and kept refilling it over the evening. We then ordered our main meal - I had monkfish and my boyfriend had swordfish. Both meals came in excellent time, but not so that we felt rushed, and they were absolutely delicious. We then asked to see the desserts but decided not to have one, and ordered an after dinner drink instead. The waitress was friendly throughout, even though we made her bring over the desserts and didn't have one. The whole evening was great, and the restaurant an excellent choice for a romantic dinner. Would definitely come here again and again!

We should visit Thalassa more often as I think it goes from strength to strength. The food is excellent both the quality and the portion size which is very generous. The menu is obviously focused in what can be done well. We went for three greedy courses and the highlight was the grilled lobster and the paella mains. I like the way they present the desserts to choose from a dish so you can see what they are like as I would not have chosen trifle from a menu but did when I saw the presentation. The service I have to mention in a packed and busy restaurant is GREAT. It's impressive, courteous, attentive and friendly and we were attended to by several different members of the team. Food was reasonably punctual and when there was any minor delay eg the bill, apologies were forthcoming. We were greeted on arrival and thanked on departure which I think is important too. For constructive feedback I think there are too many tables now in the space and it does seem a bit too packed and the table varnish seemed a bit sticky so not sure why that was. Excellent and recommended.

I took my Dad here for lunch in December 2015 and we had a lovely lunch. Really well price, yummy food and big portions. The staff are friendly and the restaurant has a good atmosphere.

Went here for valentines as my partner liked seafood and we had gone past the place a few times. The restaurant had a set menu which was really not value for money. Drinks were reasonably priced but service was extremely slow. I appreciate it was a busy evening however if you are charging customers over the normal rate then service should be attentive. There was a 10% addition to the service charge which was in my opinion was a bit greedy as the service was not upto standard. The actual menu looked okay but was not available on the night. The food offered was okay although portions were small. The decor is nice and from outside looks really nice but this proves that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Wouldn't go back to this place.

I've been to a few so called fish restaurants but none quite like Thalassa, we had the special that was on offer which was the monkfish cooked to perfection, and had some red mullet on the side which was lovely and fresh.The staff are always friendly and courteous can't wait for my next visit

This restaurant looks nice for sure. The service was quite friendly. That's were the positives end. The portions here are for children (this is not fine dining!), the promising food combinations under delivered and the value for money was way below average. Even if you're looking for an expensive night out this place still doesn't work as you can get much better quality and a much more realistic quantity within a few miles.

Lovely food and pleasant staff. Good value at lunchtime on a weekday, but looks a bit pricey at other times. The Piranha in the fish tanks are a great attraction.

Just been for Sunday lunch. A very difference experience to our previous visits which have been brilliant ..... restaurant half empty, food not the same most dishes served cold and had to send back to be reheated ...... We were put on a table for 6 when there were 5 of us! No background music .... Atmosphere terrible and toilets very messy what a shame we won't be returning in a hurry xxx

Very friendly staff who pay great attention to children, my daughter is fussy & loves Thalassa they are happy to change anything she didn't like... Excellent service

We have lost count of the number of times we have eaten at this wonderful hidden gem in N London and invariably take our friends and family to this excellent seafood restaurant with an extensive menu. We are on first name terms with Lenos the owner and the staff who greet us with hugs and treat us like a members of the family.You can also order fresh wet fish to serve at home - speak to Lenos for what is in season and how best to cook it!ViP
