Rocky Reef in Enfield

Classic night at the pictures and stopped here on the way home for fish and chips. busy but pleasant service and saw our cod and haddock enter the fryer, added mushy peas and curry sauce and waited about 10 minutes. Food excellent when we got home 5 mins later and unwrapped enormous piles of chips! ordered small but ended up sharing one portion with next door neighbours! Place looked very clean and little cafe area looks pleasant and fresh too. Will return!

Decent size fish. Food was hot. Good service

Food could have been warmer. We were obviously not the first or second on the list. Ordered large cod, it looked more like average . Little bit disappointed

Been using this establishment for many years. Since the new owners have taken over the quality of food has gone right down the pan. The Cod prices have been increased yet the quality of the Cod is definitely sub standard compared to what the previous owner served. The batter is soft and oily and the boxes have the dye running inside them, obviously cheap quality too, like the food. And don't even bother ordering by phone as they will take your order and only start cooking it when you go there to pick it up. Very disappointing compared to the previous owner.

Succulent fish & moorish chips! We ate in and ate every last scrap, very tasty 😋 Lovely and clean, recently redecorated - only let down by the over bright office style lighting in the dining area - used to have small spotlights years ago which were lovely at night.

Where is the rest of the fish? Is this what happens when new management take over. They change everything. They half the fish and charge more money than other shops.

Amazing food. We had a sit down meal here and honestly, the chips are the best I’ve had from a fish and chip shop in ages! The portions are very generous, and the fish was almost the size of a whale! Large bottles of ketchup and tartare sauce provided too: none of those mean little sachets where you need to use 10 to make a decent portion. During our visit a woman came in and loudly started moaning to the proprietor that the coat of the chips was high. Let me tell you, the price of the chips here is worth every penny. Thank you for our delicious meal.

Really excellent fresh cut chips, and the cod is very fresh. I think it's the best in the area! Kid friendly, the kids were very full and happy. The lovely waiter gave them a small something , what a gentleman, nice touch. There is some seating inside if you are very hungry and can't take it away. Price wise, it's amazing value. Such a friendly team behind the counter . I will be back. Thank you, guys.

Worst chippy I’ve ever been to, rude & arrogant staff especially the old man at the till, I’m not sure if he’s the owner or not but that’s no way to treat your customers and talk to them in a condescending manner. Whole place looks so outdated not sure how the food isn’t rotten, would give 0 stars if I could

Ok so I like this place but I was a little disappointed at the quality of the fish and chips and the prices. I got three large cods and two large chips and it cost me about £50 or maybe just under. It was ok but I remember that the fish wasn’t very tasty. However the chips were really good.

Had haddock & cod and chips takeaway and can honestly say that the fish was tasteless. I ordered in advance hoping to get freshly fried fish but the batter was soggy, as if the fish had been sitting there for a while. A very poor experience!

Never been here before tried it as my local one was closed for holiday the chips were ok but the sausage in batter tasted like it been sitting there a while sausage was dry and the batter was hard wouldn’t go back I will just stick to my local chippy George’s

Very high quality; chips freshly cooked and fresh, moist fish. As good as I have ever had. BUT, BUT, BUT...fish enough for 2 (13 inches long and thick) and plenty of chips for 3 or 4 people ( a "small portion"). £9 for a cheap meal. Why can't I but a sensible portion of fish and chips for a fiver? (as far as I can see, all chippies are the same, except most are not as good).

(Great service a fantastic cod'n'chips) That was my original 5 star review, but since then they were taken over by new owners (a couple of years ago) and have gone down in quality and service...really sorry to say.

My experience at Rocky Reef was amazing, the service and the food!

I went there for the first time about a year ago, what a mess! The chips where so dry you could mistake them for crisps😔😟, you could separate the fish from the batter, like chalk and cheese. Maybe I'm comparing it to the fish and chip shop in baker's Arms in leyton just opposite tesco, try it! I'm sorry but rocky reef was rubbish to say the least!

New management but same family. Food is amazing, new dishes added to the menu, prawns, white bait! I would recommend calling up and ordering for collection as can be very very busy on weekends especially.

Had great sausage and excellent chips with really friendly service especially from Ilia.

The food is average and the attitude and service is brutal. The guy needs to learn manners in a big way. No manner for customer service.

I haven't been able to got along to visit Rocky Reef for a while, and now it's under new management,still run by the same family though.I was delighted to experience the same friendly and helpful service. And the fish,chips and salads still very much the same high standard as ever. I can't wait to be able to bring the family to the restaurant area. I would recommend Rocky Reef to anyone. The best in Enfield. And I've lived in various parts of Enfield over the last forty years!!!

just stood for 45 mins outside - not a problem except the served everyone who arrived after me. The food used to be lovely but now just an oily tasteless mush. Avoid

First time at Rocky Reef and had a fantastic evening. I had cod and chips and my partner had the plaice and chips, it was absolutely delicious. Both the fish and chips were freshly prepared to order. The batter on the fish light and crispy and the fish fresh and flaky. The host , Musa could not have made us feel more at home. Before we could even complete our order, he said "leave it to me" ; he came back with a cup of rosey lee, can of cream soda buttered roll and a sliced pickled gherkin. My mouth waters as I recall the moment I sipped the perfect cup of tea. He topped off the meal with an after eight dinner mint and a shot of what Musa described as "Holy Water" fit to cure any virus and the perfect alternative to hand sanitizing gel. It was.....heart warming. Great evening! "I"ll Be Back " and highly recommend Rocky Reef. Thank you gentlemen xox

We had two large rock and a large cod with two regular portions of chips. I live in Tottenham so I phoned my order through, they said 15 mins and when i got there my order was just coming out of the fryer and being packed up. When i got home it was still hot and delicious as usual. Its the best chippy around ~ A☆!

This restaurant is perfect meaning of the fish & chips food. You can takeaway, but you can also síť Inside, which i do recommend. Cause the staff is so kind and the atmosphere is a symphony... If you want to taste true and classical english f&ch which are not for gazizlion pounds(tourist trap) - this is what you are looking for.

This is the best fish & chips in town.the clean warm environment makes it homely and yet relaxing. The very helpful friendly professional and polite staff makes it the place one return to again and again. The fish is .my dish of choice the children have chicken and they enjoy it every time nice portions. The fish is always cooked to perfection and very tasty like proper fish just caught cooked and served very nicely. Nice meal and a nice place to celebrate the end of a hard week.

My family and I called in on a Saturday evening to sample their wares. The menu included 3 items in the children's section. We originally wanted 3 "rock", known as dogfish outside chippies, however they were out of stock. We therefore had skate, haddock, BBQ chicken quarter and chicken nuggets for the youngest. When ordering there was a choice of which parts of the skate and chicken were required, which was nice. When the food was served we got an unexpected bonus. Unknown to the person taking our order there was one piece of rock left, this they gave us and I divided it between us. This was a very nice gesture but had the unfortunate side effect of making us less happy with our second choices. My haddock was in fact very nicely prepared as was the mid section of skate. The chicken would have been fine if described as fried chicken but was nothing like the BBQed one expected. The chips were excellent and the meal was accompanied with slices of pickled gherkin and lemon wedges. During our visit I had to change the youngest's nappy. There are no baby change facilities so I used the floor of the disabled access toilet. No facilities also means no bin. Very unusual for the category of toilet, particularly as the room also doubled as the Ladies. All three user groups, ladies, disabled and babies might need a bin for discarding used items. This was the only area in which I felt improvements could be made. In the evenings there is free parking just round the corner for 3-4 cars.

Always good quality fish and chips here. It gets busy during dinner time so best to order over the phone and collect your food rather than waiting. There is seating if you want to eat in.

Great little place, nice to find somewhere you can sit in and eat. They had Huss on the menu, you could tell it was fresh from the texture of the flesh, cooked very well in a light crispy batter. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.
