The best restaurants serving Other international-cuisines food in North East

We normally come here once a year to celebrate a birthday but was super disappointed with the experience we had this year and I’m not usually one to write bad reviews. I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday here with my friends. My husband made our reservation for 15-16 people 3 weeks in advance. They sent us an email saying that for large parties, they normally require meal selections ahead of time, but excused it for us and told us to just be patient with the staff (which we always are, we truly didn’t mind, we know the food is worth waiting for!). We had 4 extras try to join our reservation, but the staff said they couldn’t make that work so we did not let them come, no problem! By the time we got seated, the table only had 14 chairs. We kindly & patiently asked them for two more (as our reservation was for 15-16 people) and the manager or whoever she was, came over to our table and approached us in a terrible, extremely negative manner, telling us that our party size was unacceptable (even though we booked in advance and it was accepted). We tried to show her our email exchange with a staff member confirming the party of 15-16 people, in addition to the excusal of preselected meals but she didn’t care (we were still going to pay together on one main bill which was discussed in the email). About 3 minutes or so after this insane reaction, and before even ordering anything, she told us we were going to “annihilate the kitchen” and continued to be so angry with us. This was the worst interaction I’ve ever had from a restaurant employee and she ruined our celebratory birthday dinner that we were all looking forward to. After me and my friends were left speechless with how we were just treated, we left. It was unfortunate because I know this place can be hard to get into, so some servers definitely missed out on a few tables but we did not feel like staying where it was made clear we weren’t welcomed, and instead, were more of an inconvenience to them. If they had told us prior to this, that they couldn’t accommodate our party of 15-16 people, we would’ve understood, we know it’s a lot. But this woman waited until we were sat, to come over and be incredibly rude to us, without even greeting us or working something out (which we would’ve been open to!). First time here - we had a gift voucher to use. Service, atmosphere and food all excellent. We will most certainly be back. Thank you.

Lovely evening in a lovely pub the Landlord and his wife were great , very welcoming and the food was amazing best pub food I have had in ages more like restaurant quality

Enjoyed a very good, freshly cooked breakfast at this cafe. We had been before about two years ago whilst on holiday and found that the high standard hasn't changed. Staff were friendly and helpful and we will certainly visit again next time we are in the area.

Been a few times now and it's always amazing! It's not always easy to find somewhere to eat out as a veggie coeliac but this place wins every time! Not only is the food fantastic but its very reasonably priced and the service is always great and really friendly. I also like that it's a social enterprise and supports a foodbank too. Not only is everything gluten free they are also great at dealing with all other food intolerances. Definitely some of the good guys and worth supporting.

Este es un gran pub y cocina, situado no lejos del centro de la ciudad de Newcastle. Popular entre los estudiantes y lugareños por igual, tiene un ambiente agradable con ambiente de pub rural. La comida es genial y los precios razonables. El equipo de personal es muy bueno y hacer ese esfuerzo adicional que nos atendieron Ben y Beth y nada era demasiado problema. Este pub es dog friendly tuvimos una gran experiencia. Volveremos.

Not recommend at all very poor food and atmosphere

Good atmosphere and service but was disappointed with the food. The breaded truffle mushrooms were wet, rubbery and tasteless and there was certainly no truffle on them or in the mayo. The hanging skewers were okay but nothing special. Small wine list for a wine bar...

Sunday lunch was lovely the only one thing I could fault was the turnip was very watery

Our favourite place for coffee, a pause from the crowds, meeting up with friends, and checking out the new film releases. The staff are fabulous - this week we're totally devastated to learn that the wonderful Laura is moving on. Laura will be missed by so many Tyneside regulars, who rely on her calm, kind, attentive, thoughtful, good natured, welcoming warmth and friendliness. Thank you so much for all your years of hard work - both in the coffee rooms and in the café Laura. You have made our day so many times, simple acts of kindness all build up to make an enormous difference to everyone's lives. We booked ths restaurant to celebrate my daughters 17th birthday. Wallis and Co. exceeded all my expectations! The food was truly outstanding, starting with the catch of the day—perfectly cooked cod, paired with a fragrant curry sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The crushed potatoes were light and flavorful, and the samphire added a unique, fresh touch that elevated the dish. We also tried the rib-eye steak, which was beautifully seared, juicy, and tender, and the parmesan and chips were crisp and delicious with a rich, cheesy flavor. The cheeseburger was stacked high with quality ingredients, while the chicken burger was moist, flavorful, and satisfying. What really made the evening memorable was the exceptional service. The manager made sure everything was perfect, stopping by to check in and ensuring we had everything we needed. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and professional, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. From the amazing food to the top-notch service, Wallis and Co. delivered on every front. It's clear that this restaurant takes pride in every detail. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!"

Amazing service and even more amazing tasty delicious freshly cooked food. Wish they had one in Manchester again. My favourite dish from here the lamb Carribbean, just too good.

Popped in as we were passing... Great kids menu , atmosphere & decor. Callum served us and singlehandedly kept the kids entertained the whole time, top guy. Definitely be returning
