Kelly

Visited Nura mid morning and sampled a savoury croissant and Jordanian date tart accompanied with a mulled wine tea - heavenly! Great value for money but more than that, the atmosphere and cultural vibe created somewhere different than the standard norm of regular high street chains. A dresser full of blended teas are their specialty, put together by the friendly staff on site. The upstairs cosy seating area offers a great space for community events or quiet study. Loved it!

Went there on a Saturday night, luckily called before going and were told table booking needed as they were busy. We got the table for 8:30 which wasn't very late. When we reached there we ordered for 2 Hummus and Ali Nazik, which came with 2 portions of fresh bread. Bread was so delicious that it finished in no time and we had to order more. For main meal we had mix grill platters which were served on a bed of rice with salads on both sides. It was very delicious, meat was very juicy, kebabs were so flavourful, chicken was so yummy. There were tortilla wraps hidden under the rice which we found at the end. We had Turkish tea at the end which was served with turkish delight. Staff was quite friendly and nice. Everything was good until we found a long hair in a rib, luckily it was near the end. Because of this I'm giving it 4 stars, rest of the experience was great.

One of the best shawarmas in the city. Very friendly, jovial and polite staff.

We came on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday. Our second visit to the Kelham Location. It didn't feel too busy or chaotic, a good atmosphere for midweek. The staff were really friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food & wine was spot on. Each course was a perfect balance of a classic dish with contemporary flair, it all tasted exceptional. £50 for three courses at this standard is good value.

We had dinner recently at the Everest as a family, for our son's birthday. The food was fabulous as always, with a really warm welcome, and the manager checked our dietary requirements and even brought us a vegan dhal that they'd made specially for us. The restaurant was busy and had an atmosphere that was lively but not unpleasantly loud as in some places. We went away feeling full and really well treated. Highly recommended!

I am so disappointed to write this review. I had hoped for much more given the reviews I read upon their window and walls. The service was good, the two front of house staff were pleasant and professional. Our wait would have almost been acceptable if the food had met an acceptable standard. All I can presume is that the current cook (certainly no chef) is new and inexperienced. The food wasn't particularly well presented. My meal was supposed to be spicey, and at over £20 a dish I already felt a little disdain towards it. But hey ho, not being one to judge a book by its cover, I dug in The first mouthful was not spicey in any way and to be honest, it reminded me of moist wood shavings, akin with those I used to clean out of my rabbits hutch as a child. Underneath the bland minced lamb, presented in the shape of a cross, not sure why? was some form of vegetables that I must presume was of their own design, being multi coloured but each individual strand tasting and textured exactly as the previous. The others with me had a Lamb Iskander, which usually would be one of my most favourite Turkish dishes, but I tasted theirs and to be honest it only added to my disappointment That too was bland, the meat was tasteless and even the water jug had more flavour than the sauce. None of the food actually arrived at the same time, which for a group of 4 was truly not good enough. The restaurant had three other customers, so not a busy night at all. If this is how they are when quiet,I would had to eat there at busy times. We learn as we go one. I certainly have no wish to return here. No empty plate photos this time. No empty plates.

We had a lovely time on Thursday night, very nice atmosphere & friendly staff. High quality food made with fresh ingredients. We started with their beautiful starter which was served along with a very nice freshly baked bread and then mix grill lamb fillet with aubergine; so tender & juicy. We have been in different Turkish restaurants however Lokanta is highly recommended!
