First saw these at Belper food festival and I was really hoping they would be there again this year and they was! I was fortunate to be there early enough and get a “sausage roll”. I have bought online once before and placed an order again today. I shouldn’t have left it this long. This food is outstanding, highly underrate and fresh tasting. Absolute go to snack and if I had my way Russian pies should be as big as McDonald’s! Would like to see the sausage rolls on the website.

We tried your food at Selby Food Fair and loved it! Different but not too different. Our favourites were the spinach Piroshki, the "sausage roll" and the Borodinsky bread which was very sustaining. You were very friendly, too. Thank you for coming.

Taking a leap into the unknown, especially when it comes to food can be daunting. However after taking delivery of my first batch of pies I can honestly say there's a pie revolution taking place. If you want a great tasting pie that doesn't make a mess all over your keyboard/table/clothes/beard, then these are it. Great combinations of flavours, lots of filling and in a tasty bun or potato cake - genius.

The best pies ever! I first tried their pies last year when they came to Seaham market. The variety, the taste was absolutely brilliant. It didn’t taste like a pie you buy in a shop, it tasted like a pie made by your nana, with love. Their honey cake is to die for! If you haven’t tried russian cousin before this is the best place to go (or order from). They also offer traditional Russian salads and rye bred.

En segundo lugar la comida parecía realmente delicioso! Deseo que había comprado una tarta para probar ahora! They provided a menu that was gluton free without any problem. We had Salmon mousse and caviar pancakes, Borscht served with Cabbage Bread which was delicious ( meat-free variation of a Russian Beetroot soup with many different seasonal non-blended vegetables served with fresh parsley and soured cream), Baltic Fish Cakes, Pork Casserole with Apricots, Mushrooms and ApplesServed with Russian salad, Lingonberry Cheesecake served with fresh cream and a slice of Sweet Honey Cake. We've had only four month wedding preparation and with this time frame we wanted to have something unusual on our special day. We are an international couple my husband is Scottish and I'm Russian, so ideally we wanted to add some cultural experience for our guests. I have heard many stories about Lisa's fantastic cakes, but never really tried them. I contacted her about a month before our wedding and asked if she has any advised to make our dream cake in real life. She was extremely helpful, sent a lots of pictures with description to give us a few options on the theme. As a result we received a cake which became one of the key element for discussion after our wedding! Presentation was amazing but apart from that, the the test and the quality of the cake thoroughly enjoyed by our wedding party. Fresh cream (which wasn't oily) and fruits were added on the day while we were in the church, and according to the stories of our guests some of them had a few pieces because the cake was light and absolutelly fresh. My favourite part was the heart shape cake with the blue jelly on top representing the lake and two amazing swans! What else would you wish to have on your wedding day!!! Please see the pictures bellow to see exactly what I mean! Thank you very much Cossack Cuisine and Lisa for such an amazing wedding cake! A great chance to grab something wholesome and filling on the go. We go here every time we are in Sheffield and it makes a nice change from all day breakfasts and deep fried food. It's simple east European peasant food, lots of potato, cabbage and meat. It's the same ingredients as old fashioned English food with a slight twist. And if you still need desert their honey cake is scrumptious. The communal seating area is for all the food stands and atmosphere is not great, the camaraderie hasn't transferred over from the old market but that's not Cossacks fault. Given time the good old northern friendliness will work it's magic.

Tried this place out as a change for the norm while in the town centre and it was very good. I had the chicken and chorizo pie which was a very big portion and very tasty. Free tap water was provided too which is a very pleasant change. I would definitely go back and try some more of their food another time. Staff very helpful too.

Enjoyed our first experience at the Cossack Cuisine Cafe. Can't remember the name of what we had other than to say it was a mushroom, creamy cheese type brioche pizza ish......! It was however very, very tasty and straight out of the oven. Russian tea was good and a cold drink resembling cola was a nice change. The service was excellent and we'll go again soon and try one of the delicious looking sweet pastries/cakes.

Stopped for lunch today and had the Aubergine, roasted red pepper and onion pie accompanied by a side helping of Leeza's delicious salad. The generous portion of pie was absolutely scrumptious and was perfectly complemented by the tasty salad. I had a coffee with my meal, I reckon the coffee at Cossack Cuisine has to be the best coffee to be served in the centre of Sheffield. Leeza and Steve are always welcoming and helpful if you need more information about their Russian food. The food on offer changes regularly and I have never been dissapointed by the choices on offer, I know that I will always be guaranteed a tasty, healthy home cooked meal at the Cossack.

I have eaten at Cossack Cuisine a few time since they opens at the Moor and have got food whenever I have seen their stall somewhere. They definitely deserve a glowing review. Leeza and Steve and the rest of their team really do deserve to be at the top spot for Sheffield for their quality of food and service. As has been mentioned in other reviews their Honey cake is lovely and I try something new every time I go and have never been disappointed. I am also vegetarian and have found their to be a really good selection of things that I can have which is always a bonus. It would be nice one day for them to have their own space in a cafe setting as they are the only reason I would go into the Moor although I have always managed to find a seat. I would love to be able to have them to cater an event - I just need to think of a reason now!Last point - the coffee is great and good value.

It is well worth the trouble to seek out this very special establishment. The pies, salads, stews and cakes etc. are a real treat with an authentic Russian flavour. The hosts are delightful and really friendly and helpfull. The coffees are really good, and served to your desired strength. Cossack Cuisine is on the left hand side of the eating concourse, and a great new addition to the Sheffield scene. Find it, and you will not be disappointed.

I come here after college sometimes to get lunch before I go home, and it's always lovely. I had the potato wedges today which were a dream. Beautifully cooked and flavored. The grenky toast is lovely, I recommend it. And they do a good pick-me-up coffee. Plus, the staff are all delightful.

I hate to think how many hours the owner spends baking and creating. Iv never had wedges like it and the pies are in huge generous portions! Honey cake to finish, perfect. Please try the food, you won't be out of pocket or disappointed.

I ate the Chorizo and Chicken Pie and my wife who's veterinarian had the st petersburg pie, both were very more-ish and addictive and left us craving a return trip! Luckily we got a whole pie to go, which lasted only until breakfast the next day......Awesome cooking, great people.

Had a few friends round for a Russian themed evening as I wanted to try something different, and I had never tasted Russian cuisine before. I contacted Cossack Cuisine and they worked out a menu for me, including wine and of course vodka. Wow, what a night! They created an amazing banquet for us. We began with beetroot soup and the wonderful St Petersburg pie, caviar rolls, fishcakes, pork and apricots, and honeycake followed. Leeza talked us through every course and explained the origins of each dish. Leeza and Steve are professional, talented, and creative. ( they even brought along their beautiful Russian teapot for us) Delighted that they have now opened up their cafe in Sheffield.

I came across this place a couple of weeks ago on my lunch break, and have been several times since. On offer is a variety of baked goods, both savoury and sweet, which get rotated regularly, so there has always been something new for me to try. What I have had so far has uniformly been excellent. Of special note are the potato wedges, creamy beef stew and the honey cake. The wedges in particular are some of the best that I have tried. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, and are always eager to hear whatever feedback you may have for them.Highly recommended!

By chance, we came across Cossack Cuisine in the Moor Market in Sheffield. Stunningly good food at an excellent price - four of us ate very well indeed for less than £3 each. Never though of eating Russian before, but will be back and strongly recommend. We sampled across the menu - pasties, pies, soup and bread and enjoyed every piece.Service first rate with a really friendly husband & wife team as owners, chefs, servers, front of house, back of house - everything.

Came across Cossack Cuisine at Heeley Summer festival, had a wonderful piece of bread I remember so if I saw them at other festivals I knew where to go for something different/interesting and tasty ! So pleased to see them at the Moor Market, with a lovely range of savoury/sweet food and good coffee. I don't personally like the Moor Market building itself, but there are some great stalls, and Cossack Cusine make a trip there worthwhile.

Visited Nura mid morning and sampled a savoury croissant and Jordanian date tart accompanied with a mulled wine tea - heavenly! Great value for money but more than that, the atmosphere and cultural vibe created somewhere different than the standard norm of regular high street chains. A dresser full of blended teas are their specialty, put together by the friendly staff on site. The upstairs cosy seating area offers a great space for community events or quiet study. Loved it!
