Nice enough food. I had mushroom with blue cheese, which I couldn't taste. The salad was really disappointing. Very expensive house wine ( £24 a bottle) overall, I thought it was expensive. No atmosphere, could do with bit of ambient music as we could hear everybody's conversation.

All round a good evening. Bottles of wine should be opened at the table and not arrive already uncorked.

Really enjoyed eating at Lokanta. We felt welcome and the food was delicious.

What a wonderful meal the four of us had at Lokanta. We shared a cold mezze, a hot mezze and added broccoli and broad beans and chicken wings. Diner dinished off with baklava and apple tea. It was all very delicious and filling. But the staff were the best, most professional and helpful. All with smiles. And it didn't cost the earth. Highly recommend this warm and friendly restaurant. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Good service. Food was decent, i’ve been to many turkish restaurants in my life time but this was the worst value meal i’ve probably ever had in my life. The portion sizes are abysmal. £25 for a smidge of mixed grill, genuinely incredibly stingy. It’s yummy food but price makes it obsolete sadly.

This is a super family run restaurant. The waitress who served us was very friendly & gave us 3 Turkish wines to taste as we weren't sure what to choose from their extensive range. The wine we chose didn't disappoint. Myself & my friend chose mezzo so we could try different small plates of food which included seafood, meat & vegetarian options. The breads are pillow soft & we were more than pleased with what we had which was a mixture of 6 dishes from the menu & was more than enough for the 2 of us. They serve a selection of coffees with a small side of something sweet from the dessert menu, such as brownies or Turkish Delight, which is a good idea if you are fairly full up. As we were unable to eat anything else, we took some lovely Turkish Delight home. All in all we had a great evening. I have visited several times before & the food & service is always excellent. I would highly recommend it.

Food is generally good with a varied menu. What really lets this restaurant down is the terrible service. We were missing a starter, no apology. Same thing happened with a side for the main, felt like we were an inconvenience asking for it. Long delay for main course, when asked on progress waitress rolled her eyes and did not even bother to check. The staff really let the restaurant down. Visit before they calculated the bill wrong than rang a week later to tell us. An honest mistake on both parts. I paid the different (was never sent any proof of this). After speaking to other people it was felt this is actually the restaurants issue and they should not have faced payment. Again no apology. Unless they get new front of house staff wouldn’t return.

This is my second visit, and the experience was excellent. The service/staff are pleasant and polite. The food is fresh tasting, seasoned beautifully. The menu options are vast, catering for meat and vegan eaters alike. Highly recommended.

Expensive, poor quality, minimal portions, and food not seasoned , and therefore bland tasting. Of the many Turkish restaurants these days in Sheffield, any rate higher than Lakanta at Broomhill.

Very nice and good people are working here. All the food is perfectly prepared. The Turkish Merlot wine is also good. I can really advise to go here and have an enjoyable time.

Ordered take away Saturday night (£138) via deliveroo! Was unsure whether it would be delivered or collection. Called restaurant to clarify and they confirmed it would be delivered. 1.5 hrs later no food so called restaurant who then said it was for collection, by this point we had a few drinks so couldn’t collect, no delivery was offered, tried to cancel but couldn’t, the manger said my mother who called the restaurant lied about getting clarification re: delivery. I then said I would collect the food via taxi as it was a lot of money, the manager then said I would have to pay again. Absolutely disgusted by the treatment of this business, my mum was a regular at the restaurant but shall not be going any more. This was a special occasion, I was visiting from Scotland and my mum did nothing but praise the food here, hence the big order. Absolutely devastated by the loss of money and the fact that a manager could have so little morals. I will be taking this to the bank as fraud, money taken out of my account and no goods. Please don’t go to this restaurant, they don’t deserve good peoples custom!

Really disappointed. I had heard poor reviews already but wanted to give it a chance... in hindsight I wish I had stayed clear. Possibly one of the stingiest restaurants I have been to. The portions are insulting. It's not fine dining food - so you can't be charging £8 for the tiniest mezze dish which looks like something Wetherspoons would cook up. You charge £18 for a mezze plate which has got zero presentation and looks like it had the least effort possible going into it. The chicken shish was flavourless and the lamb kofte was really dry. Very disappointed at the quality and quantity at the price paid.

Love Turkish, not the first Turkish restaurant. But I have to say they don't disappoint. Good food and good service. Would definitely recommend it.

Good service, we had the best dinner ever.

The food wasn't bad at all - lovely mezze - but it's just so expensive for what you get, so you don't leave feeling like you've had the best experience. We also didn't get half the things listed on the menu on our plates and were checked on after we finished, so there's that as well. Maybe they didn't have everything in that night, but it only takes a second to mention that when you're ordering? I probably wouldn't go again, just based on how much they're charging for the dishes versus the quality of them. If it was small, expensive portions, but the quality was out of this world, I'd completely get it and be happy to pay, but it's pretty average, so when the bill comes, you just wince a bit.

Food was nice but not excellent. Service not very good. 3 young girls trying to do everything. Had to ask to order drinks. And when we were ready to order. We never got a smile(u should never be too busy for a smile) asked for bill and they forgot. It was a saturday night and not enough staff .

I arrived at 20:35 on 9th of April. We were asked by the waitress how many people we are. We have said 4 persons and after she talks with the chef she said sorry but we are closed now. I find it outrageous, she could have said it from the beginning. I hope to receive an answer to my complaint from the management team

We had a lovely meal here. We ordered the vegetarian set menu for two so that we could have a nice sample of plates as it was our first time eating here. The food was delicious. Lovely fresh flavours. The staff were friendly and attentive and we were promptly served. The food was brought out quickly. A really nice atmosphere but not too busy. We will definitely be returning.

Staff was very attentive and tried hard to make us comfortable. The food was great. We got a meze sampler which provided a nice variety of everything. Wine from single glasses to bottles was affordable. I'd return without hesitation.

The food is freshly cooked to order! The saute potatoes are herbly delcious! When you eat fresh food nothing compares. Highly reccommend! - i'll be returting to lonkonta for the fresh salsa and lamb and aubergibe for maby years to come!!!

We were in the middle of ordering when the manager interrupted the.poor waitress and said to us that they were too busy, ‘what do you want’ in a breathtakingly rude and most unpleasant manner, we had an awful experience. Avoid, I should stress.

First visit to Lokanta and had a great experience, although the wine was average the food and dessert was beautiful. I had the mixed grill the wife had seabass couldn't have asked for anything more. Will definitely frequent this place as it's now our local ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not the same as it used to be sadly. Not a warm welcome from the owner or other staff, restaurant more than half empty but food took 40 mins + to arrive. No complimentary bread or salsa/garlic butter on arrival anymore, meze dishes much more expensive than previously and much much smaller portions in general which i suppose is in part due to the cost of living crisis... Calamari was soggy, vine leaves tasteless, mushrooms tiny with barely any cheese and meat cold. Courgette fritters lovely though!! Really disappointed as this has always been a favourite place of mine and my family and friends. I've always recommended it to everyone and anyone but don't think I will anymore. Money is so tight these days that going out for a meal should be a great experience but it seems like lokanta has given up a bit.

I have been here twice now with large groups, doing a platter deal. Utterly dreadful both times. £32 for hardly any food, just masses of dips. They didn't even give us that much bread. We paid for our drinks separately too. left still hungry, everyone in agreement. I could not speak to an experience for 1-2 people but based on visiting twice, never again

UPDATE: The portion sizes here used to be out of this world and you would eat yourself happily into oblivion. But perhaps 2 or 3 years ago they scaled back the portion sizes, probably for financial reasons which is understandable, but it totally ruined the restaurant. The meals now just lack the organic magic they had and feel a bit too controlled. It's still really excellent food but the real magic that it had has gone sadly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is the 3rd time I've been to Lokanta.. Tonight my girlfriend and I chatted extensively before the food arrived, the atmosphere is very good here so it's easy to relax and get into a good dialogue.. Once the food arrived the conversation stopped.. This was the first time I have ever shaken my head in disbelief whilst eating at a restaurant.. Silent disbelief that I was eating something that literally rendered me and my tastebuds dumbfounded with pleasure.. If I were to use the word exquisite I would be doing the food a disservice.. If you haven't eaten here yet then you will die with regret.. I have nothing more to add..

Had spotted this restaurant in previous trips to Sheffield and thought it looked very nice so this year we gave it a try. We weren't sure how much we could eat so sadly we didn't try any of the mezze dishes, just had a main course each. I had the halloumi, red pepper and courgette shish and the halloumi was the nicest cooked halloumi I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of halloumi! They have the option of coffee with a small dessert which I like as I often want something sweet but don't always have room for a big dessert. I had the baklava and it was delicious. Great restaurant, would highly recommend.

Fantastic little Turkish meze spot with the best falafel. The Albanian lambs liver and oven baked prawns are a favourite. Also some authentic drinks on offer such Efes lager, and Turkish coffee, tea and spirits.

Ordered the mixed grill, cost around £26 via delivery company, very disappointed with the amount for the money. Will not be ordering again that’s for sure.

Friendly staff, well spaced tables, COVID-secure, oh yes, and excellent food too. A good selection of dishes but not overpowering choice. I regret I didn’t leave a tip because I paid by card and didn’t have any cash. Sorry!

The takeaway meals for 2 are excellent value. Across 4 people, we had one meat and one vegetable based option, which was more than enough. A wide and varied selection of dishes, meaning there is something for everyone. Food is full of flavour and I can't wait until my wife and I move to the area so that we can enjoy it more often.

As ever a warm welcome and great food

Booked up as it was an eat out to help out night, very straight forward and glad we booked as it was fully booked. Starters arrived and thought they were great, the Calamari was super soft, perfect I thought. The Turkish bread was lovely with the prawn starter. For mains we shared a meat platter, more than enough food and already came with rice and potatoes, the sausage was amazing along with the lamb chop, the chicken was a little dry however everything else was fab. The lady we had serve our table was lovely also and attentive. Would definitely go back.

Decidí llevar a mi familia a este restaurante, gasté 50 en comida para llevar un par de días antes y me encantó la comida, así que pensé en asistir y comer en persona a pesar de las preocupaciones de COVID. Cuando llegamos, nos sentamos en la parte trasera del restaurante más cercano a la cocina. Naturalmente, los camareros pasaban muy cerca de la mesa, lo que nos hizo sentir incómodos. El restaurante parecía vacío y había mesas que tenían la cantidad correcta de asientos, así que pedimos respetuosamente que nos sentaran en otro lugar. La respuesta fue más que impactante y totalmente inaceptable. Agujas para decir que decidimos irnos como nos dijeron si no te gusta irnos. Si esta respuesta fuera de un camarero, desdeñaría esta actitud, pero este era el propietario real. No se dio ninguna explicación razonable por el rechazo de nuestra solicitud y la agresión mostrada a los clientes que pagaron fue vergonzosa.La comida es excelente, sí, pero intente igualar este nivel con modales y gratitud a los clientes que desean apoyar a las empresas locales.Gerente grosero, inconformista y mendigo arrogante. Nunca volveremos a asistir, pero no creo que a ÉL le importe de todos modos. Su personal parecía estar bastante avergonzado por toda la situación y no puedo decir que los culpe.

We went for our first restaurant meal following lockdown on Saturday 4 July. Lokanta has long been our favourite restaurant in Sheffield and it didn’t disappoint. All the familiar faces, excellent food, very well managed separation of tables, everything super clean and efficient. We expected it to be good but it exceeded expectations in all respects.

Fantastic food. Not cheap but worth what you pay. Meat was extremely well cooked. All of the food seemed very fresh. The bread was lovely and warm. Great beer too. Will definitely be returning!

I've been here many times and the standard is always high. I love the grilled octopus, but have tried most things and it's all very tasty. Try the Turkish wine, which is surprisingly good. Large restaurant so even at a weekend you can usually get a table.

Absolutely perfect. If you want to taste Turkish food you should go to Lokanta. It is beter than the most of the Turkish restaurants in Turkey. Especially the meze menu is perfect and extremely delicious.
