For those with a more traditional/desi palate, go for the Kasmiri Butter Chicken rather than the 'normal'Butter Chicken. Great customer service with friendly and helpful staff.

I'm a fool. No other way of saying it!!! I've driven past this place for years, going to other places in Sheffield. What an idiot!! This place does amazing curries. The nan breads are hot and crispy, the biryani was flavourful and the tandorri king prawn jalfrezi was superb!! Can't believe I wasted all this time driving past.. never again...

Fantastic food probably the best curry we have had in a long time. Visitors to Sheffield but wish we lived closer so we could eat there again. My husband had the chilli masala and I had the lamb chops and both dishes were delicious. Staff very attentive and efficient. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely a place we would recommend.

The order was early, but the quality of the food was mediocre. I ordered a mixed starter, and not only got just 5 pieces of food for 8.50 (not good value), the tandoori chicken was overcooked, dry and hard. Disappointed as the other stuff was decent and collection was early.

Very happy with the curries and portion sizes, plenty of meat. Dupiaza was so tasty, as well as the Peshwari naan. Food was 10/10. Can tell they use quality ingredients.

Having been to this restaurant a few times we have started to notice it going down hill recently. However, we thought we would give it one more try but really wish we hadn’t. Asked for poppadum's and a pickle tray, no issues here, however when the drinks came, they didn’t even bring a glass for the bottle of beer. We ordered the food and decided to share the starter which they said was ok; however only one plate was brought out, asked for another and the waiter just took a side plate of the next (empty) table, seems petty but attention to detail is what they used to pride themselves on, this service is just lazy. Starter was ok, but the photos below show how the main course was served, again very poor. The rice was lukewarm, when asked if everything was ok we said the rice was not hot, they did offer to exchange. The naan bread below is (honestly) a keema naan, make your own mind up! I called the manager over and he wasn’t very apologetic, almost made out it was our fault. They didn’t charge us for the rice, almost as doing us a favour, I asked for the keema naan to be taken off, whether he did of not I’m not sure, as he just took £12 off the bill. I asked for more but he didn’t budge. This used to be a passionate well run restaurant but now they just don’t seem to care, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all and word of mouth will get round about how poor the service and food is. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

This place is the best in Sheffield for Indian Food. Sit in or Takeaway there isn’t any better and I have tried a lot. Staff are great, the restaurant is spotless, food amazing and price is good too. I will be back.

OK. I eat my fair share of currys and have to say this is one of the best. I don't live in Sheffield, and it's been five years since I previously visited Butlers and ate a really nice curry here, but somehow, they've got even better. The food was exceptional. The place is nicely decorated, there's quite a few tables but I guess you'd be better booking at weekends. The staff are just really nice and clearly work hard at making sure you have not just a nice meal but a great experience visiting their restaurant. Well done to everyone involved.

This is a true gem of a restaurant, with amazing food with very large portion sizes. The menu choices seem to be endless. Very friendly and helpful staff with prompt service and all the food was piping hot. We will definitely visit again next time we're in Sheffield.

Butler’s was the best when it was up the road just off the main uni roundabout, but it’s gone down hill; literally. It moved down the hill around 10 years ago - was still good for short time, it’s not what it was. Over an hour late, wife went to bed before it arrived. Chicken Balti was more like a madras, the chicken saag had more saag than chicken and the whole lot was luke warm. Got feeble apology from the restaurant. After over 15 years as a customer I’ll go elsewhere in the future.

I enjoyed it a lot. For person who doesn't go in curry houses. I know I had english style lamb chops but I think they were the best I've had ever.

Asked our cab driver for a reccomendation for a nice curry. Told him I like pakistani cuisine so he tipped Butlers. We werent disappointed it was really fantastic food and service was great. We asked our waiter for reccomended dishes and to be cooked in the pakistani style which they were happy to do. I had chicken the Mrs had lamb 😋. Dish sizes were very generous, couldn't eat it all so had to get a takeaway. Can't wait to eat the leftovers. 100% reccomend Butlers. Cheers guys. Will be back next time I'm in Sheffield.

A great night out with friends from Australia. The service was very good for a largish party followed by great food. My husband, not a lover of spicey food, said the English lamb chops were the best he'd ever had. Great praise from a plain eating Yorkshire man. Thank you for a lovely evening 😘

Food tasted excellent, but not served with any vegetables, apart from 1/4 tomato in the curry sauce. The menu implied that other veg were included (potato, aubergine) plus any other vegetable for an extra £1 each. But the added veg cost £2 each, and no veg were included as standard. There were no updates on the delivery status until the meal had arrrived. Sauce had leaked into the bag, permiating the base. The same dish was considerably cheaper elsewhere. Quite disappointing and messy to serve.

Excellent visit! I am vegan and had a lot of choice, my husband eats meat and also had a lot of choice. Everything we ate was delicious, freshly cooked and great quality. Service was exceptional- really made the experience!

Great food and whilst it arrived on time the delivery guy couldn’t find my house and expected me to go and find him. I directed him in the end only then to discover my starter was missing. Raised a help ticket and got credited to the account.

Been several times. Went inJune and had an excellent evening. Food was excellent. I had Poppodoms with the pickel tray(7 pickkes from Mango Chutney to Lime Pickle). Onion Bhaji, for starters and Special Biriani with Peshwari Nan for the main course. All was piping hot and well presented. Meal was delicious. Waiters were very friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. I recommend a visit. Previous visit. Had a very nice curry here. We booked a table for a Friday night in December. The restaurant was full and people waiting for tables. Because we had booked our table was ready and we were served by friendly staff. Went for the set meal poppadoms and starters and we each had a different main course. I had Special Biriani which I enjoyed. The staff were very efficient and we were served in an appropriate timescale which considering how busy the restaurant was excellent. Would recommend the restaurant for a good curry but you might want to book if you think it may be busy e.g. December and weekends.

Thought we'd try this place as we do love a balti and it was yummy. Really good food and very friendly service. Parking is a bit of an issue but don't let that put you off.

My sister travels from the Wirral yo meet up here. Never rushed to leave the table, and are left to enjoy with extremely attentive staff on hand if you need anything! Cannot recommend enough. was a poor curry, very overrated. not much flavour on anything. poppadoms were soft rice was really greasy and the bhaji was terrible. won't be ordering from here again doesn't justify the expensive cost

Visit today very disappointed had Lamb tikka masala dish very dry must have been last night’s left overs will not return gone downhill rice is served at a smaller portion also bottles are small but charged at a higher price 330ml small bottles £4 sure there is better Indian restaurants around for value for money in this climate

Went there last night and was absolutely fantastic food. Really friendly atmosphere and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Had the lamb masala which was beautifully served.

Me and my partner dined at this restaurant last after the snooker it was recommended by the taxi driver so we took a gamble as we are not local it was busy we got seated promptly by a waiter who had a very good polite manner took us to the table and got drinks and poppadoms order straight away thumbs up for this we had a chat to the waiter and asked for recommendations… the recommendations did not disappoint us at all… Waj our waiter had time to have a chat with us he was very helpful and very polite and very friendly he made us feel very comfortable…thanks waj for the great service last night 5 stars for you

Unfortunately, blue latex glove made it into an onion bhaji I ate - it was a huge piece of glove. I've no doubt that if I swallowed it, it could have been potentially fatal. I've woken up from a nightmare about it. I took it out of my mouth because it was so chewy and I was worried it was meat. The restaurant tried to make good by not charging us for the bhaji, bringing my dining partner chicken tikka (I'm vegetarian) and giving free drinks and coffee ( but we ended up being charged for all the drinks). I was crying and wanted to go home. But my dining partner hates making a fuss and complaining, to an extreme, and told me I'd be going home by myself. So I sat crying until.a wait staff said they would be having a meeting with the kitchen and it would never happen again. However, we still paid £62 (over £17 drinks bill that we were told would be complimentary) for the meal for two (mains, poppadom, sides, drinks). I use gloves at home because I have OCD and they don't end up in the food. I am traumatised.

First time visit at BUTLERS & wasn't disappointed, in fact was extremely surprised. Absolutely amazing food, service & ambience. Very busy but got seated straight away, the food, the place, and the team were (are!) amazing. We all absolutely loved it. A few reviews had mentioned the mix grilled platter, and how surprised they were at something so simple being so spectacular. Well, they weren’t wrong. They’re a triumph: hint of bbq smokiness, a hint of spice, just enough cooked, and yet so comfortably spicy, tasty and mouth watering, Definitely the best mix grill I’ve ever had in UK. For mains we had lamb chops, butter chicken and fish masala, OMG. These chefs definitely know what they’re doing. couldn't fault anything at all, will definitely be returning. Absolutely highly recommended, basically Bradford curry house food served in Sheffield in a lovely ambiance. 10/10
