Came last night to celebrate my retirement with a party of nearly 40 people. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. We had the set menu (unfortunately I was having too a good a time and forgot to take photos!!). The food was hot and well cooked with the right amount of spice for me. The service was excellent too. Definitely recommend especially for large parties but have also eaten here with family and never been disappointed.

Went down on Saturday with some friends and we celebrated his birthday. Had amazing mixed starter followed by the main dish of Arabian lamb. The staff sang happy birthday to my friend and had an overall amazing time. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a restaurant with amazing food, staff & overall atmosphere.

We thought we'd try Butlers as friends have said it was nice. Well needless to say we won't be going back. The chicken pasanda I had just tasted like chicken put in a tin of tomatoes, no taste at all. My husband had chicken tikka noodles and that just tasted like chicken put in a bolognese. As for our friends theirs was just as bad. We've had some bad curries in our time and this is by far the worst one. I can't understand the hype about it. It's lucky I gave it one star.

Table booked well in advance and arrived exactly at the allocated time. Waited 25 mins to be seated and then shown to a table designed for 1 person less than the group. We placed our order and I then spoke to one of the senior servers about the table size. He initially said he would give add the table next to us but after he realised they were only on starters he later (15 mins) offered us a different table of the correct size for our party. We had delays in drinks and had to chase them. We waited and waited and after an hour after our arrival we got the starters. My dish was just 3 very thin pieces of paneer and the quality was lacking the normal creamy flavour and the quantity was laughable. We then waited again and another 75 mins went by and after chasing our mains they eventually arrived. My dish was extremely disappointing, 10 (I counted them) small pieces of chicken in a mass of sauce. The chicken was supposed to be marinated ( I have had it many times in India) and from the texture it had at most been a 10 min affair as it was not soft and succulent and the sauce was totally over powered by lemon to the extent of being sour. After almost 3 hrs the bill arrived the bar amount was not itemise but by this point we just wanted to leave. Whilst also there I saw a waiter drop a dish all over 2 customers, one I believe left as he was covered. This is not the first time I have had a poor experienc/food and suffice to say this is the very last time I will be visiting

We visited for our mother's birthday last Sunday and were amazed by the hospitality offered by the Butlers staff, especially with recommendations as we're all so indecisive, as well as catering to our individual needs. The food was great and we'll definitely be returning, and they made it special with singing happy birthday. 5/5 experience.

i visit with group of 5 and the food was extremely delicious with a friendly atmosphere.The staff was also kind hearted . Talking about the hygiene it was 100% . loved the place ✅ i will recommend it to everyone . The best authentic indian food

Not bad but not the best in sheffield as it portrays itself to be Food is ok Staff are super friendly Atmosphere is ok but I really do get fed up of hearing the birthday jingle played over the speakers. Takes any authentic atmosphere out of the place.

Ordered the chicken tikka masala, very red and didn’t have much flavour, garlic bread very bland, plain nan bread cold, server wasn’t very approachable or helpful, neither spoke very good English, cutlery was dirty so had to clean it myself, the seat left a stain on my new jeans I had wore there so wasn’t too happy about that, prices abit steep to say the food wasn’t really worth it. Probably won’t visit again. Disappointing.

Butlers Balti has not changed. Food was good and still is. Service was good and still is. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is very tasty and whilst it's not our favourite Indian restaurant, it's of a good standard. Plenty of room inside, it's a good size place and has room for large party bookings if necessary. We really enjoyed our visit and we would go back.

First visit to Butlers , won't be the last the food was fantastic and the level of service 2nd to none All wrapped up in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended

We normally have take away delivered, the guy taking the orders even knows my voice when I call, but occasionally we will eat in the restaurant. I first started having Butlers when it was the old restaurant on the university roundabout and it's always been spot on. We popped in after drinking with friends, the service was good and quick. The food was gorgeous as ever and the ambiance was chilled and lovely. Thank you guys.

My kids chose butlers when given the choice of anywhere in Sheffield. And they are fussy buggers 🤣

For those with a more traditional/desi palate, go for the Kasmiri Butter Chicken rather than the 'normal'Butter Chicken. Great customer service with friendly and helpful staff.

I'm a fool. No other way of saying it!!! I've driven past this place for years, going to other places in Sheffield. What an idiot!! This place does amazing curries. The nan breads are hot and crispy, the biryani was flavourful and the tandorri king prawn jalfrezi was superb!! Can't believe I wasted all this time driving past.. never again...

Fantastic food probably the best curry we have had in a long time. Visitors to Sheffield but wish we lived closer so we could eat there again. My husband had the chilli masala and I had the lamb chops and both dishes were delicious. Staff very attentive and efficient. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely a place we would recommend.

Very happy with the curries and portion sizes, plenty of meat. Dupiaza was so tasty, as well as the Peshwari naan. Food was 10/10. Can tell they use quality ingredients.

The order was early, but the quality of the food was mediocre. I ordered a mixed starter, and not only got just 5 pieces of food for 8.50 (not good value), the tandoori chicken was overcooked, dry and hard. Disappointed as the other stuff was decent and collection was early.

Having been to this restaurant a few times we have started to notice it going down hill recently. However, we thought we would give it one more try but really wish we hadn’t. Asked for poppadum's and a pickle tray, no issues here, however when the drinks came, they didn’t even bring a glass for the bottle of beer. We ordered the food and decided to share the starter which they said was ok; however only one plate was brought out, asked for another and the waiter just took a side plate of the next (empty) table, seems petty but attention to detail is what they used to pride themselves on, this service is just lazy. Starter was ok, but the photos below show how the main course was served, again very poor. The rice was lukewarm, when asked if everything was ok we said the rice was not hot, they did offer to exchange. The naan bread below is (honestly) a keema naan, make your own mind up! I called the manager over and he wasn’t very apologetic, almost made out it was our fault. They didn’t charge us for the rice, almost as doing us a favour, I asked for the keema naan to be taken off, whether he did of not I’m not sure, as he just took £12 off the bill. I asked for more but he didn’t budge. This used to be a passionate well run restaurant but now they just don’t seem to care, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all and word of mouth will get round about how poor the service and food is. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

This place is the best in Sheffield for Indian Food. Sit in or Takeaway there isn’t any better and I have tried a lot. Staff are great, the restaurant is spotless, food amazing and price is good too. I will be back.

OK. I eat my fair share of currys and have to say this is one of the best. I don't live in Sheffield, and it's been five years since I previously visited Butlers and ate a really nice curry here, but somehow, they've got even better. The food was exceptional. The place is nicely decorated, there's quite a few tables but I guess you'd be better booking at weekends. The staff are just really nice and clearly work hard at making sure you have not just a nice meal but a great experience visiting their restaurant. Well done to everyone involved.

It was a tremendous curry, the best curry I’ve had in Sheffield! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the quality of the food is second to none! If you haven’t been here yet, you should come because it will blow your mind!

This is a true gem of a restaurant, with amazing food with very large portion sizes. The menu choices seem to be endless. Very friendly and helpful staff with prompt service and all the food was piping hot. We will definitely visit again next time we're in Sheffield.

Butler’s was the best when it was up the road just off the main uni roundabout, but it’s gone down hill; literally. It moved down the hill around 10 years ago - was still good for short time, it’s not what it was. Over an hour late, wife went to bed before it arrived. Chicken Balti was more like a madras, the chicken saag had more saag than chicken and the whole lot was luke warm. Got feeble apology from the restaurant. After over 15 years as a customer I’ll go elsewhere in the future.

I enjoyed it a lot. For person who doesn't go in curry houses. I know I had english style lamb chops but I think they were the best I've had ever.

A great night out with friends from Australia. The service was very good for a largish party followed by great food. My husband, not a lover of spicey food, said the English lamb chops were the best he'd ever had. Great praise from a plain eating Yorkshire man. Thank you for a lovely evening 😘

Asked our cab driver for a reccomendation for a nice curry. Told him I like pakistani cuisine so he tipped Butlers. We werent disappointed it was really fantastic food and service was great. We asked our waiter for reccomended dishes and to be cooked in the pakistani style which they were happy to do. I had chicken the Mrs had lamb 😋. Dish sizes were very generous, couldn't eat it all so had to get a takeaway. Can't wait to eat the leftovers. 100% reccomend Butlers. Cheers guys. Will be back next time I'm in Sheffield.

Been here many times before, family occasions, date nights etc and have always had excellent food and service by everyone!

Food tasted excellent, but not served with any vegetables, apart from 1/4 tomato in the curry sauce. The menu implied that other veg were included (potato, aubergine) plus any other vegetable for an extra £1 each. But the added veg cost £2 each, and no veg were included as standard. There were no updates on the delivery status until the meal had arrrived. Sauce had leaked into the bag, permiating the base. The same dish was considerably cheaper elsewhere. Quite disappointing and messy to serve.

Excellent visit! I am vegan and had a lot of choice, my husband eats meat and also had a lot of choice. Everything we ate was delicious, freshly cooked and great quality. Service was exceptional- really made the experience!

Great food and whilst it arrived on time the delivery guy couldn’t find my house and expected me to go and find him. I directed him in the end only then to discover my starter was missing. Raised a help ticket and got credited to the account.
