Absolutely delicious menu prix fixe. Honestly fantastic generous and highly competent proper cooking from a chef who clearly understands classic techniques and seasoning. Warm and friendly front of house service just made it a wonderful lunch at £29.50 for 3 courses, unbeatable value too.

Not a place I’d rate highly very disappointing. This was booked as surprise birthday present by my wife. The hotel and the rooms are amazing but as this is a foodie place this did not live up to expectations. We ordered a cod main in the pool house restaurant but what came was far from good quality fish this has a blood line running throw both our main courses. We asked the waiter to check with the kitchen that this was not right, and this was brought back to us with the waiter to say its fine and it won’t kill us! Not what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. We had some of the cod but did not finish it as it was not very appetising. Due to this my wife then fell sick in the night from having the fish. My wife then had a questioner sent to her she filled this out explain what a disappointment the meal was. This was filled out a few weeks ago and she had no acknowledgment back from the hotel that is why I’m putting tis on here as we didn’t have a very good experience. Plus, some of the staff not all need to be a bit more customer friendly. Not a great experience. We won’t be going back.

We visited Community Waffle during half term, and it was clear how popular this place is—on our first attempt, there was a queue out the door! We decided to return the next morning for breakfast, and it was well worth it. We ordered three different types of waffles, each one delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making the experience even better. What makes this venue truly special is that it’s more than just a café; it’s a fantastic community hub. There are various events held here, creating a space for people to connect and support the town. We loved the opportunity to contribute by purchasing a "Pay It Forward" meal, knowing that someone else in need would benefit from it. Our son also had a great time playing on the mini arcade, adding a fun touch to our visit. It’s wonderful to see a business that not only serves great food but also brings people together and gives back to the community. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Axminster!

So, I’m quite partial to a waffle both savoury and sweet and I happen to think I am a bit of an expert lol. I had the Biscoff Waffle and it was so freaking awesome that I nearly went back again that evening (even though I was so full and knew I wouldn’t have been able to eat two). The waffle is superb and the texture is on point, the topping was perfect and a good ratio to waffle. Guys whatever you are doing, keep doing it as what you produced was the best I’ve ever had and I will be back!!!

On holiday for a few days. Nice enough place. Below average meal. Fish and chips- fish over cooked. Houmous was horrible never had bad houmus, So didn’t eat it. ( told them it wasn’t very nice but didn’t take it off the bill) Chorizo tapas was beautiful. Mussels for tapas was plentiful but too salty. Ravioli was lovely. Had lemon tart and cherry cheesecake for deserts both lovely flavours but the lemon tart had soft pastry on the bottom. Cherry ice cream was fantastic. I feel that if you choose the right thing , you will enjoy your evening

A warning to others that it costs £9 for two lime and lemonade. (Edit) I appreciate the reply. The service from the man behind the bar was wonderful, and the pub is pretty. Confronting our review in a more friendly manner could have changed our opinion. However, you came over and talked to us aggressively about the review before continuing your alcohol. This isn't exactly friendly service, neither does it create comfort. I appreciate your factors having a cost. Does this price align with other pub pricings? We also had our own empty cup, yes.

We visited the cafe near the food hall, the one that sells cakes and coffee etc. Two of our party of four ordered the scone with jam and clotted cream. The one scone provided was unbelievably small and was lost on the side plate, it would have been small if served on a saucer! The selection of foods for sale in the food hall at Dart's farm is huge why then are the "homemade" scones so pathetic, they should and could be so much better. Very disappointed at the food offerings and the service was poor due to the staff flirting and talking when they should have been serving and working. Supervision is needed and the scone supplier needs changing.
