We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress, Eight minutes later we were served, Ten minutes later we get our drinks, Thirty minutes later we finally get our food, I ordered a toasted sandwich which to be honest was so flat it really wasn’t very nice, A handful of crisp and a flat limp selection of various chopped up salad leaves with half a cherry tomato and not even one slice of cucumber chopped up, My husband ordered the cream tea, It finally came out after my sandwich but the scone was hot, Who ever serves a hot scone for a cream tea, I reckon it was probably either microwaved from frozen or to freshen it up, But either way you don’t put cold clotted cream and jam onto a hot steaming scone, My husband refused it and sent it back (I didn’t blame him it was awful).

We ordered 2 coffees and a fruit scone/jam and a cheese scone with chilli jam. Systems were down for card payments but we couldn’t even find what we wanted on the app. Service was very slow and when it arrived we realised they’d mixed the jams up (but only after hubby had put chilli jam on his fruit scone!) By this time we just wanted to get out because we’d nearly finished our coffees. Gave feedback to the manager who really couldn’t care less and just blamed the system being down. We all have bad days, systems fail, mistakes happen BUT….it’s how things are put right that matters. This manager was out of his depth, couldn’t care less and runs an unorganised cafe. Don’t bother going!

Very disappointed we have had nice meals in the past. WE dont think the chef got it right today. There should be waiter explanation of contents if there is a new menu. Starter of mackerel was marinated in vinegar which wasn't pleasant, replaced by tomato and aubergine covered in a fine orange mix of .granuales. Elements of Morcco. The hake main course was served on a bed of soft cooked what seemed tomato and red pepper (could be specific) and laced with honey taking the overpoweringly sweet delicate taste of Hake. The desert was fine however they might consider changing the thick cream with vanilla ice cream as an alternative. It was a new menu and no ones taste is the same. Its not put us off going to eat there but perhaps we will let others sample the menu.

Stopped here for a cup of tea and ended up getting a full cream tea. The price was reasonable and the scone was good, with a generous serving of cream and jam. There was a bit of a niggle with service as our drinks came almost right away then there was a long wait for the food (cake and cream tea), which we eventually had to ask for as it had been forgotten. However, the waitress was very apologetic, and ended up giving us a discount on the bill. The café was about half full and pretty noisy, so could be hard to have a conversation when it's busy.

The cakes are not worth the money. £6 for a raspberry cheesecake which was very disappointing. It was essentially a moose with what must have been a whole packet of gelatine! Wobbled around on the plate, the texture was spongy and the flavour seemed very synthetic and artifical. That's the last time I go to the restaurant. The only one worth visiting is Cow and Cacao where the food is drastically better.

We had lunch in the cafe by the food hall - it was very busy but that was to be expected on a Saturday. We sat by the window on stools as no tables available which was fine but behind us a couple sat with a very large dog . The waiter arrived to bring our coffee which was very hot the dog came out from under the table and knocked the waiter's arm, the coffee spilt over the floor, missing me by inches but did go over the waiter's arm - it was very hot, although he didn't complain. We had a super lunch but another member of your serving staff came up to the dog and started petting it on the head and face. I said you shouldn't be doing that when serving food she replied we wash our hands regularly!!! Where has health and safety gone all staff should be aware not to touch any customer's dogs when working with food. Maybe dogs shouldn't be in the restaurant when you have outside tables and chairs. The owner of the dog also replied her dog was cleaner than an adult!!!!

Cafe about 20% full, lots of staff but still long wait to place coffee order and even longer for it to arrive Luke warm coffee with little flavour. Beware the huge supplement for alternative milk, 75p extra on top of high prices (of course no discount for the cows milk you don’t have!) Sadly Darts is pricing itself out of the local market, maybe visitors are happy to be overcharged for poor quality, as locals we will not be back any time soon

We went to the coffee shop inside Darts Farm yesterday and it was great. Unfortunately the The Shack coffee shop is the polar opposite. I ordered three drinks: flat white, a hot chocolate and a chai latte. All three tasted of burnt milk! The flat white had no coffee flavor, the hot chocolate had no chocolate except a sprinkling on the top and the chai latte was a pile resemblance of the lovely drink we had the day before. I think employing untrained teenage baristas is probably the reason for the poor quality of beverage. I will not return. ☕😕❌

Arrived around 10:00 am for breakfast, and the main restaurant was about half full, but not too busy. After a long wait, our order was taken, and after an even longer wait (too long) our food arrived. The best item was the freshly squeezed orange juice, although the coffee was not too bad. My wife had ordered the poached eggs with toast and bacon which turned out to be cold with the toast missing butter and looking as if it was just stale bread. I had ordered the large breakfast and wished I had sent it back. Dried out baked beans, black pudding so dry, it could have been used in an ice hockey game, two thin tasteless sausages burnt on one side, bacon so dry and tough that it could be used to re-sole shoes. With that, every item was luke-warm or so cold that I could not finish the meal. The worst breakfast I have had for a long, long time. Could not wait to get out, so the farm shop has missed out on other sales. Not going back.

So much more than a farm shop! Came to Devon for a holiday and this was our first stop, before heading to the accommodation. Had a brioche gelato bun, with strawberry gelato, dark chocolate syrup 😝 ( i ordered cherry 🍒 syrup) covered in honeycomb pieces. If I'm honest I wasn't all that impressed with the cow & cocoa cafe. The farm shop is amazing, they have everything you could want, from freshly squashed orange 🍊 juice, ( you can squeeze yourself and I did), home made bread, pies, quiches, cheeses, black pudding, meat, crisps, fruit, veg, tea, coffee and a section with a huge selection of wines, beers and ciders from Devon, along with the big name spirits. As well as having the farm shop, they have a fish restaurant, a snack bar and a bar serving pizzas and flat breads. A spa, a home store and a clothes shop, are also included in this venue. Overall a poor experience, it seems the restaurant at Darts Farm has really declined since we used to visit regularly a few years ago. Every staff member we had contact with was sullen and moody. We waited for around 5-10 mins to be seated, despite there being plenty of free tables, no queue and lots of staff milling around. Then a further 10 min wait to order food, and around 25 mins to arrive. The food was okay, pretty unremarkable and expensive for the portion size. When it came to paying the bill, we couldn’t get anyone to come to the table so had to go to the counter, again I found the staff to be quite rude, no checking if the food was okay or thanks for visiting. They were more interested in chatting with each other behind the till, getting cakes to take home and looking at each other’s tattoos. Very much felt like they have recruited from the local sixth form with no leadership in place to ensure the level of service is reflective of their prices. Won’t be returning, there are many better options in Exeter and the surrounding area- Mango’s on the quay in Exeter is fantastic!

Could spend a long time here, and spend a good bit too. Visited a few times now, and always go in the restaurant. Never disappointed. Lots of lovely things, and a great place to shop for gifts.

The double cheese and bacon burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful especially William! The farm shop was full of a great selection of wines and cheeses. Will definitely stop off here next time we...

Nice people serving, but english breakfast is quick to be served, because its been cooked well in advance of you arriving. They cook some eggs to go with the dry moistureless bacon, undercooked cheap sausage, (actually wondered if I wanted to eat it, because it...

long waits for inattentive staff to notice us to seat us, take order or even to take payment, over cooked scones like dough balls not scones.

As always exceptional food and service, only 4 stars because we did get granary bread when we asked for white, but we ate it anyway and is probably healthier hehe. There is such a great selection of locally produced food on the menu and available in their shop.

Food was really good, very clean and staff amazingly friendly. Very quick service as well considering how busy it was. Would definitely recommend and visit again. It’s a little on the expensive side but worth paying as it’s mostly local produce and good quality.

Oh dear! What a disappointment! Visited yesterday with a W.I group and had a Devonshire Cream Tea. We’ll that’s what I ordered - but it was awful! Never have I had such tasteless scones and they were dry. Fruit was minimal. For such a rated...

How disappointing! This afternoon visited Dart Farm on a W.I outing via IKEA! I ordered a Devon CreamTea and had to complain about the scones! They were awful - tasteless and dry - not at all what I would have expected from a ‘foodie’ place. Having returned them and explained why the assistant offered me cake instead, which I accepted. Then she charged me £7.25 when I paid the bill / more than my original cream tea! I paid it not wanting to make a fuss only to discover on the coach that someone else had complained about the scones and had a 20 per cent discount on their bill. Not the service you would expect from Darts Farm - don’t think I’ll be hurrying back!! Please do better !

Perfect country pub with wide range of ales, beer, wine and spirits. One of the best carveries we have been to across Devon, Somerset and Dorset!

On holiday for a few days. Nice enough place. Below average meal. Fish and chips- fish over cooked. Houmous was horrible never had bad houmus, So didn’t eat it. ( told them it wasn’t very nice but didn’t take it off the bill) Chorizo tapas was beautiful. Mussels for tapas was plentiful but too salty. Ravioli was lovely. Had lemon tart and cherry cheesecake for deserts both lovely flavours but the lemon tart had soft pastry on the bottom. Cherry ice cream was fantastic. I feel that if you choose the right thing , you will enjoy your evening

So, I’m quite partial to a waffle both savoury and sweet and I happen to think I am a bit of an expert lol. I had the Biscoff Waffle and it was so freaking awesome that I nearly went back again that evening (even though I was so full and knew I wouldn’t have been able to eat two). The waffle is superb and the texture is on point, the topping was perfect and a good ratio to waffle. Guys whatever you are doing, keep doing it as what you produced was the best I’ve ever had and I will be back!!!
