Darts Farm Restaurant in East Devon

Had the most wonderful customer service experience courtesy of Rachel, she was so friendly, chatty, gave our Whippet dog lots of love and went the extra mile for us. She is an asset to Darts Farm. Also thankyou to the lovely lady and gent working in the christmas tree section, really warm and welcoming, made sure we got the best tree there. Thanks so much

I used to love going for breakfast & lunch. Since lockdown & new staff it’s not friendly very slow with tables there’s empty tables & sofas & long queues. Today my Eggs were hard so was bread it flew off my plate when cutting. Saw lady in charge I think being rude to staff. Not what I wanted to see or hear. It took 2hours from queue to finish !! 15 min for the bill

That dough needs more love! More time and fermentation. Cracked and flowery isn’t good, not for the cost. It should be real pizza…Sadly no children’s menu for our little girl, and the potatoes were very much unloved, hard and unseasoned, basic kitchen skills? It’s a shame they don’t make their own pastries and cakes etc

We had lunch in the cafe by the food hall - it was very busy but that was to be expected on a Saturday. We sat by the window on stools as no tables available which was fine but behind us a couple sat with a very large dog . The waiter arrived to bring our coffee which was very hot the dog came out from under the table and knocked the waiter's arm, the coffee spilt over the floor, missing me by inches but did go over the waiter's arm - it was very hot, although he didn't complain. We had a super lunch but another member of your serving staff came up to the dog and started petting it on the head and face. I said you shouldn't be doing that when serving food she replied we wash our hands regularly!!! Where has health and safety gone all staff should be aware not to touch any customer's dogs when working with food. Maybe dogs shouldn't be in the restaurant when you have outside tables and chairs. The owner of the dog also replied her dog was cleaner than an adult!!!!

Cafe about 20% full, lots of staff but still long wait to place coffee order and even longer for it to arrive Luke warm coffee with little flavour. Beware the huge supplement for alternative milk, 75p extra on top of high prices (of course no discount for the cows milk you don’t have!) Sadly Darts is pricing itself out of the local market, maybe visitors are happy to be overcharged for poor quality, as locals we will not be back any time soon

Outstanding Harvest Dinner - fabulous modern food and community atmosphere at this event. Lots of veg grown and superb locally sourced food.

Where do I start? Expensive underwhelming food and the service was a shambles! How can you get an order of 4 glasses of water and 2 pieces of bread so wrong? Staff are not trained it seems and feel quite happy to share why they are getting confused about a very simple instruction. Of course we ordered other food and drink, but tbh couldn't get out of there fast enough. A real let down from the shop which is excellent.

The Farm Table: excellent sharing plates. Fresh and tasty. Well presented. Super staff. Fine Sourdough pizzas too. Highly recommended

Main restaurant within this very eclectic emporium.You always have to queue here which gives the impression that once you have eaten they encourage you to go.A mix of young ladies buzzing around with some just leaning against the counter.A very varied menu which is quite expensive..They can cater for special diets including Gluten Free.I had the Lasagne with vegetables and my wife had Chicken and bacon club sandwich GF,the panini was replaced by one slice of bread.We had pot of tea for one and a raspberry smoothie.Service was fairly quick as the place was full.Its all on the flat but the toilets are on the other side of the emporium.The car park is free and there are shaded bays to park your car in if you have a dog.There are also Tesla Elec vehicle charging bays.

Arrived around 10:00 am for breakfast, and the main restaurant was about half full, but not too busy. After a long wait, our order was taken, and after an even longer wait (too long) our food arrived. The best item was the freshly squeezed orange juice, although the coffee was not too bad. My wife had ordered the poached eggs with toast and bacon which turned out to be cold with the toast missing butter and looking as if it was just stale bread. I had ordered the large breakfast and wished I had sent it back. Dried out baked beans, black pudding so dry, it could have been used in an ice hockey game, two thin tasteless sausages burnt on one side, bacon so dry and tough that it could be used to re-sole shoes. With that, every item was luke-warm or so cold that I could not finish the meal. The worst breakfast I have had for a long, long time. Could not wait to get out, so the farm shop has missed out on other sales. Not going back.

Had never been here before but was recommended to come here by a near by hotel and glad we stopped by. The food was amazing, we did have to wait for a bit but they were very busy but it was worth the wait! Definitely be back again when we next come to Devon

Went for a Sunday morning brunch in the restaurant rather than Cow and Cacao. Very busy but we were seated quickly and order taken, no croissant choice so went for a slice of brown toast and marmalade and my son had the Hearty Farmers breakfast plus a cappuccino and a macchiato. A little bit of a wait for it to arrive but it was worth it. Food was outstandingly good for both of us. Infact with no exaggeration, the toast was the best I have ever eaten anywhere, fabulous bread and brilliant marmalade. The coffees were good too. All in all very reasonably priced for such top quality fare. Pleasant and professional staff as well. Love Darts Farm and glad it's so local for me

Admittedly it was busy, but waiting to be seated we watched the servers come and go with absolutely no acknowledgement of our existence to the point we began to wonder if we had become invisible. It doesn't take much to say something- anything- to reassure us we could be seen. I suspect they worried that by speaking to us, they might have to apologise for the wait. A shame because the food was delicious when we eventually sat down. If only customer service could have been the same.

£6 for two small and almost cold lattes from a shack outside. Breakfast inside was average for the price. Darts farm is a popular destination that they are now taking advantage of with their prices. We’ll be looking elsewhere in future.

Great brunch and coffee! Coffee cups had been warmed so coffee stayed hot for ages which was such a nice touch. They have a huge menu and so much to choose from as well as daily specials. Long wait for table (45 mins) but it gives you time to look around the shop first and then they call you when table is ready. My husband had a fried breakfast which was big and filling and I had smashed avo on toast with egg and bacon- huge portion. Coffees good size, quick and friendly table service.

We visited here for the first time back in January and all was OK apart from a long wait for a table. We had expected a long wait on our visit this week but were very pleasantly surprised and didn't have to wait long at all. The service was good and the staff were observing all the Covid guidelines. Hand sanitiser was available.The menu is excellent and it's hard to make a choice. The eggs royale was delicious.

Breakfast was OK but safety very poor! There were far too many people in the building and I felt very unsafe. Their COVID protocols were non existent

Well we have been coming to Darts Farm for many years and have to say this last visit was totally disappointing. Having waited over one hour for a table in the restaurant which obviously had tables free, we then waited another 15 minutes waiting to place our order while most of the restaurant staff appeared to be behind the counter on their phones. Not the service that we expect from Darts Farm and will now consider where to eat in the future

Had a sandwhich and cold drink and hubby had a toasted panini or similar and a coffee. Took an eternity to arrive. Very average. Very expensive for what we got. Nobody bother to come over and say “is everything ok for you?” which I kind of expect nowadays. Tables were too close together for our comfort during a health pandemic. Won’t be returning.

Tasty soup of the day with sourdough bread and tasty avocado poached egg and bacon on sourdough toast washed down with looselead tea after the sculpture trail. Tables socially distanced and big roomy airy room. Waiters didn't wear visors.

Darts Farm shop is wonderful - we were looking forward to an equally wonderful breakfast. We were disappointed with the quality and warmth of the food and the service was scattered with items coming out late because of forgotten orders. The smashed avocado was nice but I would have preferred warmed tomato. We had some extra sausages which were more like chipolatas and very pale. We also ordered the poached eggs on white toast which was barely toasted and we asked for it to be replaced with granary toast which took 5-10 mins to come out. It was also served with a side salad - very odd!It was not a busy morning - so a very disappointing breakfast.

Ordered veggie breakfast. It arrived cold sausages white looked uncooked and fried bread missing. Sent it back asking for the sausages to be cooked. Long wait when it came back there was BACON on the plate under the mushrooms. Staff and manager were sympathetic but obviously the chef is not keen on vegetarian folks.

Stopped for brunch and rather than have usual cooked set breakfast we chose items from menu - portions have obviously shrunk recently as avocado and eggs on minuscule slices of sourdough bread and a portion of eggs royal well presented but tiny with two drinks and a fruit juice Gave very little change from £30 ! Shall be visiting other farm shops on way to cornwall in future where a hearty breakfast and decent portions are a given! Shame as we always loved this place

Visited today for lunch. I ordered a Diet Coke which was served in a chipped glass and a smoked turkey sandwich which consisted of a slice of turkey slapped between two slices of dry bread, one slice being the end of the loaf. Very disappointing, it’s unlikely that I will be visiting again which is a shame but Darts Farm seems to have gone downhill.

We came here for coffee this morning - Coffee ordered ( eventually ) , and then a long....... wait for cake - which arrived many minutes after the coffee - when all that had to be done was to slice the cake and then put it on plates !!! The cake was nice and the coffee also , but we would have preferred them to come at the same time - so we are disappointed with our visit to this local establishment

Took a friend who has dementia for fish n chip lunch. Ordered 1 portion at Fish Shack counter. Wanted to pay by card and staff member gave me an order and told me to pay on exit (I presume this was to direct me through the huge retail area and thereby encourage me to part with some money) We waited, and waited, and, yes, you guessed it, waited. 25 minutes later the food arrived. The waiter asked for my receipt. I showed him my order ticket and explained that I'd been told to pay on the way out. He insisted I pay at the exit. I couldn't leave my friend so after some haggling I managed to scrape enought cash together and he took it. What a strange way to run a business. There were several people with elderly or infirm companions and mums with babies who would be in the same quandary as I. Shan't be going back there again; sad because the F&Cs were good even though stone cold when we finally got to eat them.

Scesi alla fermata del treno Topsham abbiamo pranzato in questo locale. Il posto è molto ampio e luminoso, io come di tradizione mangio sempre almeno una volta le uova alla Benedict. Molto buone e delicate, forse l’unica osservazione che hanno messo poco salmone. Peccato era profumatissimo.Il locale offre anche piatti vegani e vegetariani e consiglio di fare un salto nel market per riportare a casa dei loro prodotti.

We have stopped here a few times on route hone from holidaying in Devon, always good fresh food and good service. The Full English and Eggs Royale today both good today.

I find it incredible that such a super venue does not take on board customer comments and either reply to them or at least act upon them.A cooked breakfast on a COLD plate is not acceptable and I have commented on several occasions and even had had a credit - surely it is not a big deal to put the the food on a HOT PLATE Buck your ideas up and make it an even better visit.!!!!!!!!

El sándwich carece de cangrejo pero en su lugar se suministra una cantidad excesiva de hojas de ensalada. Pobre valor. No me preguntaron si necesitaba pan blanco o marrón. El servicio es extremadamente lento y el sistema de pago en el que tiene que señalar el restaurante en su mesa precisa es extraño. Recomiendo que no tenga más que té y pastel.

Empecé a visitar aquí más en el último año más o menos y estoy contento de haberlo hecho. La comida siempre es de alto nivel, a un precio razonable y hay muchas opciones (aunque llegue antes de las 3 si desea el menú completo). A veces, el servicio puede ser un poco desordenado, pero el personal (en su mayoría joven) es muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar.

Brief coffee stop and cake at the farm shop whilst exploring. Great coffee. So so cake... shortbread needed to be more buttery. Wouldn't go out of my way to return, but wouldn't avoid. Would recommend the butchers and farm shop.

After a lengthy wait finally we ordered a small breakfast and a so called cream tea what a disappointment the breakfast Luke warm dry toast and unedable saugeses the cream tea was awful not a scone in their opinion was a dry bun the restaurant was very busy servers looked panicky overall overrated and hopefully that Dart Farms will improve ....money not spent well.

We stopped for a quick lunch and we were not disappointed, simple but tasty food, that's all we wanted. We'll be back.
