This place has become our home from home when in the Lympstone area for drinks and dinner. We feel like regulars, with a warm welcome every time. All the Staff are very friendly and provide excellent Customer Service. Lottie is an absolute star and made us feel very welcome. A broad selection of beers, real ales kept very well, and wines. The food is amazing. I love the Prawn Cocktail and the Mussels are the freshest I have ever tasted. The wife had a Bone Marrow starter and the Pork Belly which was also amazing. This is upmarket pub food with fantastic presentation and attention to detail. Can't wait to be back in the Lympstone area.

We didn’t eat on this occasion but we definitely will return to do so based on friendliness alone. (We ate there a good while ago and we’re unimpressed). Throughout the evening service was attentive. A great night. Got a feeling that along with the Puffing Billy, this will be our ‘go to’ in future based on the fact that they’ve got their customer service spot on.

Had a Sunday lunch roast beef meal. The meal was good. However, the price of a pint of Korev was steep at £6.20. The pub is lovely, has a good atmosphere and staff were polite. However, we weren't shown a drinks menu with prices. A service charge of £3.70 was also added to our bill without being informed there would be a charge. I would have been happy to have tipped but felt it was a little dishonest to automatically add a service charge.

We visited The Swan, for lunch, last week after a lovely walk up the estuary trail from Exmouth. The pub itself is quite attractive, with masses of outdoor seating, and the inside is airy and welcoming, unlike the staff. So how was our lunch? Let me start with the good points. Our dining table was very comfortable, situated in a bow window and bathed in sunlight. The beers were tasty and my wife's ham and cheese plowman's was delicious, as was my dressed crab salad. Sadly we now come to the bad points. The young people serving were charmless and indifferent, and rather noticeably, at no time, ever used the words "thankyou", certainly not to me, and the only time I witnessed a smile was when they were sharing a laugh over something on their mobile phones. As I have said I had the dressed crab salad, gluten free option, and if your chef thinks that two slices of bread, from a pre-sliced loaf, plonked on the end of the salad board is worthy of a delicious dressed crab salad, they need to think again. And finally "card payment only", really, how sad? I don't think we'll be recommending The Swan to any of our relatives and friends, sadly.

The food looks good but it's a shame drinks are overpriced at £6.80 for a pint of Guinness if you are a visitor. Very expensive for what it is. Nearly £55 for a wine , a pint of squash , an ok veggy linguine and a rack of ribs plus chicken. Main complaints…. the rack was on the very skinny side , the 1/4 roast chicken wasn’t , it was a bit more than a drumstick, and you are asked if you want extra fries because the meal doesn’t include any. That’s a bit surprising. 10% service charge is added automatically , the staff and service was okay and the place has a good atmosphere. Mainly drinkers not eaters from what we could see. Brilliant pub lunch. Great friendly service. Chicken and bacon sandwich was crammed with meat, large portion of salad, coleslaw and crisps or chips. High quality, tasty and filled a full size dinner plate all for £8. Caesar salad even bigger with lots of excellent succulent chicken and the added tang of anchovies as well as slightly soft homemade garlic croutons. Selected a salad for something light on a warm day and only just managed to finish it. Excellent value, highly recommended. Revisited two years later and a bit of a back step. My partner opted for the prawn sandwich which was large but the flavour came from the sauce rather than the fish. My own crab sandwich was really tasty but was at least 50% brown meat which made it rather expensive. Service was ok but the young girls that work there seemed utterly disinterested.
