Tasty, good portions. That's probably all that's good. Cons: 1. When booking they say one thing, when checking out they say something completely different. Keep in mind that Armenian hospitality does not always imply accurate calculation when issuing your check and the owner of the establishment shouts (no, perhaps it is more accurate to say - YELLS) at the guests. 2. Very fussy service, our order was clarified more than five times. 3. Very expensive, especially alcohol. My colleague paid £11.25 for a glass of wine and it was one of the NOT expensive wines. We were all shocked when we saw the check. By the way, the menu had a different price. 4. 12.5% of your order amount is immediately added to your receipt. That's a lot for bad service. Will I come back here again? I doubt. Manchester has many good restaurants. Will our company hold a banquet here again? No.

We come here every time we are in Manchester, every day (though last time we travelled on a Monday and discovered Platzki is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; that seems to be a new development under new management). I’ve been seeing negative reviews but can’t understand what that’s about. The food is as excellent as ever, with spectacular new dishes (the duck cutlets and the pumpkin gnocchi are to die for). The raspberry vodka is also delicious. The team checked on us often and were friendly. While the team has changed under new management, the lovely lady at the bar still knows how to make the special tea with rum and orange that used to be on the menu but isn’t anymore. The tea is incredible and it’d be a shame if that team member left and no one knew how to make it anymore, so please put it back on the menu, guys! One thing that would make Platzki even better is if they you to offer rye bread with lard/butter for a starter/snack like you used to under old management. But overall Platzki is fantastic, wishing the team the absolute best for the future and hope you guys continue thriving. We will be back in a few weeks when we’re in Manchester again.

Food and atmosphere excellent- would recommend. We opted for the a la carte rather than tasting menu, all three dishes and sides were excellent - highlight for me was the steak tartare. We seem to run in to problems not with service per se, there was some issue with food ticket system which meant a delay between starter and main which was considerable, staff were apologetic and a free round of drinks was offered which mitigated the problem. We did wait 30 mins to be seated at our table and had a drink in the bar area whilst we waited, this might not be an issue for some folk but personally I prefer to be seated at my booking time. A few small issues which didn’t detract from the overall experience, and still rated the food and overall experience highly!

Average. Ok for lunchtime. I had the jackfruit and black bean chillie which had the heat but not the depth of flavour. Not much more I can say about the place. It was ok.

The man serving us was extremely friendly and happy to go through the options of what was available. The pistachio french toast was amazing, and really good value for money! The drinks were delicious and presented in a gorgeous way, absolutely would go back and recommend to friends!

Great place and great atmosphere, drinks were a little expensive as expected but had a great time- however my experience got ruined by a very rude bouncer telling me that “you are a child” as a 22 year old woman and being repeatedly rude and throwing abuse at me when I did nothing wrong but try to get back in through the smoking area when another bouncer said he allowed it. Turning your back on someone who was speaking to you politely will always be rude, especially when you call them a child when they are on their own as a woman. I am then left to fend for myself as a woman with all of my friends inside- feeling unsafe and having to find my way home alone. I don’t appreciate being spoken to so rudely and I shall not be returning.

We had an anniversary dinner here and had a wonderful time! The pre-theatre dining menu was amazing value (3 courses for £37.50). The food is really high quality and the portion sizes are decent, they're not too small despite it being a fine dining restaurant. They also brought us an extra dessert with an anniversary message written in chocolate on the plate - a lovely surprise! Would recommend going on a weekday so it's less busy and you're more likely to get a table by the window.

Went for tea and cake. Had to return dirty cup. Teapot lid cracked and would not shut as waiter pointed out! Poppyseed and lemon cake was inedible being very dry and felt old. Staff busy chatting to each other and not worried about bad service. Expensive- just counting on mane. Go elsewhere.

The pastry was crispy but on the thicker side and the filling was more custard based consistency than the lighter egg based cousins. They are heavier in my opinion and will fill you up. Also a bit sweeter than expected. All in all will try somewhere else for my egg tart fix
