Platzki in Manchester

This place is a must visit for anyone who likes Polish food. We came here on a Saturday, it was very busy and had a radiant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and served you when they could. The food, my word the food was amazing. I’ve been to Poland and this food is like stepping back into Poland for a couple of hours. Food comes quite quick after you order and you know it’s good when there’s no conversation at the table, just heads down eating! One thing I would say however, there was an added service fee (which is 10%) which when you’re there as a couple it does add a unnecessary chunk onto your bill, I think it should be more of a choice instead of immediately added on. Thank you for a great meal and we would love to visit again :).

Came here for valentine's day to celebrate. It was a set menu so not the usual a la carte, and very reasonably priced. It was some of the best food I've had in the city, and of the classic Polish sort it's honestly quite hard to come by. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere is cosy but it never feels less than private. Absolutely cannot recommend enough.

Second time here and both times on weekend of Manchester Marathon just a year apart. Asked in advance about bringing our dog and so pleased to say they are fully dog friendly which is such a breath of fresh air for a central Manc cafe restaurant. Staff were great - little slow at times on service but nothing major, it was all made up for with a bit of a laugh and a joke which was nice. Food was superb - we had their brunch menu and it was really delicious food. Finished off with some Polish cakes - just couldn’t say no. Really yummy again like everything else! So yep - very glad to have come back and to have had a great experience again. Must try and attend for standard dinner service as that menu looked very interesting.

I’ve wanted to try this place for so long and it was completely worth the wait. The food brought me so much joy and our server Zofia was so lovely and explained all the food to us and was very attentive. The food was completely amazing - simple and elegant but it still has that homemade feel. I’m currently planning my next visit.

We try our best to go elsewhere for variety’s sake every now and then but alas, we just cannot stay away whenever we’re in Manchester. Everything else pales in comparison. Platzki is easily one of the best restaurants we’ve ever visited, anywhere in the world. The food is delicious and varied — we’re in for a great surprise whenever the menu changes. The tea with rum is also a must. Can’t wait to be back.

Tasty foods; super place, nice Staff.

This is a beautiful botanical restaurant/cafe in Manchester. We went there because we watched a YouTube where the Man City players ate Polish food there. I asked the staff if we could order the same food and he kindly confirmed that the kitchen could prepare them for us. Unfortunately, they were not served at the time, but we had other delicious dishes instead. I recommend trying the platzki (crispy potato pancakes) and zeberka (pork ribs)! The restaurant suggests ordering three dishes per person. Most of their dishes were small portions, but the soup with mashed potatoes and sausages was so large that I couldn't finish it all.

Great dishes and drinks (the honey beer! 😳) but the table was so small we couldn’t get all the food at the same time. Will come back for sure

What an incredible place! The staff were genuinely nice and friendly, and the food (Platzki and pierogis) was lovely. A bit on the pricier side of course but worth it.

The Platzki Modern restaurant in Manchester is an absolute gastronomic gem. Their outstanding, traditional Easter dishes surprised us not only with their taste, but also with their refinement and presentation. It is difficult to describe our satisfaction because we lacked words to express their high level. The owners, excellent chefs, have created a unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at your grandma's for Christmas dinner. The restaurant's decor suited our tastes, and Mrs. Ania, the manager, was absolutely irreplaceable. Me and a group of friends went for a meal at the best restaurant in Manchester. That restaurant is called Platzki. The food? Incredible. The staff? Phenomenal. The vibes? Impeccable. If I could eat here for the rest of my life I would. THANK YOU PLATZKI. 5 stars for EVERYTHING. Also, the birds tweeting in the bathroom is magical, made me feel like I was in a fairytale story. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Quantity and taste was great for the price. But we were charged a lot for packing the food home. Sadly, we had to pack it on your own and yet pay the hefty service charge.

I cannot recommend you try the food here if you have never tried polish food then you are definitely in for a treat

We just had the most delicious, flavourful food at Platzki for an early dinner. The setting was lovely and intimate and the service was friendly and efficient. The pierogi were outstanding. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend!

Hands down the best restaurant in town and the best duck I have ever had. The atmosphere is indescribable. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. I was really impressed with politeness and professionalism. Lady who was serving us asked us about allergies. One of my friends had 4 of them and normally he is expecting to have a very limited and very plain options while dining out. Chefs at Platzki made a wonderful dish for him full of flavours and replacement of food he cannot have. We were all impressed. We will be back.

Greet place for very traditional polish food that is good value for money. Went on a Sunday about 2pm, got busier as day went. Tasted like my partners home cooked food so authentic.

Fantastic food and service. Nice atmosphere. Problem was the table was tiny....being a tapas style you have several plates and they came in 2 servings but the table was so small we couldn't fit everything and felt a bit rushed so you could make more room on the table. Cocktails were spot on too!

I am happy I can eat delicious Polish food in Manchester, especially Pierogi. The boss/madam is very enthusiastic, and the staff is also friendly. Even though they are often busy, they always care about their customers' experience. Recommend!

The whole concept of the restaurant with tapas does not fit the Polish culture at all. Food was the worst Polish food I’ve ever had! Placki were made out of too much flour to cut the costs of already cheap potato which resulted in awful bland taste. Duck meatballs didn’t even taste of duck but salt… water bottle was already open when it arrived at the table which my suspicions could tell me it was tap water poured into the bottle. I would not recommend the place if you try and taste real Polish food.

My partner and I had a very negative experience here. We went for Valentine's Day, and informed staff he has a nut allergy beforehand. Staff assured us there would be no cross-contamination, and encouraged us to attend. The food and atmosphere was great, but on the way home my partner had a delayed allergic reaction (throat closing, and struggling to swallow, vomiting). I contacted them to let them know of his reaction: ask for a refund, and more importantly to encourage them to review their cross-contamination policy, as this was not an airborne reaction, it was due to eating nuts. They gave us the refund immediately, but then the manager responded by saying 'my boyfriend should be less concerned about the restaurant than by me' because 'I knew they were serving nuts' and so should not have made the booking in the first place. I am really upset by the rude reaction, especially as I was trying to flag something which could potential be so much more serious (my partner could have gone into anaphylaxis and possibly died). The reaction was so unprofessional and ruined the whole experience. If you or anyone you know has a food sensitivity or allergy issue, I would really urge you to think twice about eating here. Not only was there cross-contamination as my partner had an allergic reaction, but they were so rude and unwilling to listen when I told them they clearly need to review their allergy safeguards. I'm honestly worried that someone could have a much more serious allergic reaction given their stubbornness and poor attitude when told this. Overall - the dangerous allergic reaction ruined our Valentine's day, and the rude comment from the owner / manager was deeply unprofessional and inappropriate.

Went for breakfast and the choice was superb. Excellent, friendly staff. Our first visit but won't be our last. Looking forward to having lunch or dinner very soon. The cakes looked amazing. Would recommend booking as it's very popular. Thank you for a lovely experience.

We visited the new location for the first time recently and it was so good we went back as quickly as we could. This is a place that knows about food and every dish we have had there has been super. Being excellent and also not very big means it gets busy so do book in advance. We arrived at 6:15 on a Thursday and the place was full already. we were quickly seated though and looked after really well throughout the whole meal. They recommend three dishes each but we had two each and still got enough for lunch the next day as a takeaway! This is hearty Polish food at its best with great authenticity and myriad of wonderful flavours. The honey cake at the end was an excellent indulgence and it will not be long before we are back again. Highly recommended!

I went to Platzki with my friends and one of them was vegan.As not many dishes was vegan,our amazing waitress saw to that the chef altered some food to suit my friend.Really great.Also the waitress was very attentive and just so kind. Food was top tier. Highly recommended

weird food. small sharing dishes that are pretty pricey. not traditional polish food. hunter’s stew was sickly sweet. sausage stew had essentially no liquid and was not stewy in any sense of the word. waiter was curt and unsure about food ingredients when asked about them for allergy reasons. asked about the pierogi options, and was told there was 1) mushroom and 2) bacon, which we were told both contained butter as the only dairy ingredient. ordered the bacon one and was delivered some strange carbonara sauce (which contains more dairy than just butter!) pierogi which another waiter confirmed was the “bacon” option. it is the pictured item. they were some weird flaccid pierogies which had sickly looking wrappers that fell apart and were drowned in an almost american style cheese/cream sauce (it tasted okay) that overwhelmed whatever flavour the pierogies themselves had. few dairy free options and not good for vegans. had a very different experience from all the positive reviews we saw and it felt like we went to a different place. edible and even decent tasting food, but would not call it traditional polish at all.

Platzki is a restaurant worth recommending. Authentic Polish food. I was surprised how many flavours of vodka they offer. My favourite two were Pistachio and Hazelnut. The kitchen closes at 9pm so I would recommend to arrive before 8:30pm. They only offer desserts after 9pm.

This was my 2nd time to bring friends from Hong Kong to this lovely restaurant. They were surprised by the quality of the food. The chef made incredible combination of the ingredients and the food are very delicious. Although the place is a bit small for table over 5 people, I will definitely bring friends to here again for a good dinner in Manchester!

This is a tiny place but what a gem. Food is small plates but excellent. The dishes come out as ready not all at once but everything was delicious. Not cheap for the small servings but definitely worth a try! Would go again if ever in Manchester UK.

We had a great night at Platzki, superb food & wine, lovely atmosphere and very attentive & friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Especially recommend the duck meatballs, mushroom stroganoff and black pudding. The Georgian red wine was excellent too

Awful service: the waiter didn't speak any English. He said that they have changing facilities for a baby, they don't! There is just 1 toilet downstairs extremely close to the kitchen. Disgusting Food: ordered some pankes that had as much oil as you could squeeze and fry another portion with it. The presentation very bad as well (who puts salad leaves on sweet pankes?). And there was some cream that goes with pankes absolutely tasteless. The breakfast "chakshuka"- an abomination! All ingredients wet, raw, lots liquid at the bottom of the plate. The eggs were raw, the mushrooms and spinach released lots of juice and there was some beans floating in that "masterpiece" as well. Very bad overall. Probably the worse food that I've had in Manchester. I am very disappointed and to be fair feel sory for the owner or who else is running the kitchen because the spot is really crowded but the food is horrendous.

A little gem of a restaurant if you're a fan of Polish food, and if you've not tried Polish food this is an excellent place to experience it. A varied menu means you'll find something you like, and it's served tapas style which I was dubious about but works well. Try the kaszanka - Polish black pudding - you won't be disappointed. Restaurant is small and I'd definitely suggest a reservation, and it can feel slightly cramped. (This isn't helped by the tables being compact, and if you order six dishes fitting everything on with drinks is a challenge.) But these are really minor points compared to good service, with warm and friendly staff, and excellent food. Smacznego!

Place looks OK, and that is everything that's good about the place. Food covered in dill so you can't taste anything else. Then main meals didn't Arrive at the same time so one person is eating, other person is waiting 10-15 minutes. Staff when asked where the rest of the order is- after 10 minutes of waiting- talked back in a very rude way. This place brings shame to Polish people.

On arrival was perfect, plenty of staff but wasn't friendly, food was ok but the Pierogi was a let down, main meals didn't arrive together, then waited to pay that took longer than it should and it wasn't busy. Won't be eating there again.

I finally managed to dine at Platzki and I totally understand what the hype is about. A very cosy, cute and cool restaurant with great food and attentive, friendly staff. I feasted on vegan pierogi, stuffed aubergine (which I preordered) and drunk Polish vodka. It was a memorable evening!

There's is no better place to celebrate your big (or small) day than Platzki. The food is beyond the food is out of this world. We tried several dishes (tapas style) and they were all delicious. It was my partner's 40th B-day and the staff treated us in a special way and the chefs prepared some special treads (imagine that!). They also have a great selection of alcoholic drinks and cocktails. We went to Platzki for the brunch and I can't recommend it enough! Reasonable price for the quality and great atmosphere.

30th of November myself and my Daughter dined at this fantastic Polish Establishment. I do like Poland, its people and food/drink. We have visited Gdansk, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Poznan so have sampled quite a bit of Polish food. This ranked with the best of it. A lovely gregarious lady and a very efficient male water looked after us superbly. You cant go wrong on the menu, its meant for sharing and 5 plates between 2 of us was ample. Good strong bottled Polish Beer and Polish wWine washed it down nicely. The prices are fair.

A charming Polish restaurant, wonderful atmosphere and decor, very nice service, and the food is finger-licking good. When in Manchester, it's really worth going there and tasting typical Polish dishes. I fully recommend it. 👍

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed, the reviews on the websites are very high and I have no idea where they come from. The śledzik was very sweet, served without bread The karkówka was overcooked ham, there are no salads or pickles for the dish... The cod was so sweet that I can say that this item should be called "Greek Christmas fish" or „Świąteczna ryba po grecku” And also called "krokieciki" were more like English cheese bites… Was it good? It was edible but unfortunately it has nothing to do with Polish cuisine. We won't come back again Ps. The service was quite nice and the prices were very low.

Went with a group of 12 people. Loved the place and will be back soon. This is my second visit .

This small restaurant is one that will definitely become a regular for us after this superb evening. It feels like a family run place with people who really care about you having a good time and the Service is friendly and really professional. As it is quite small I would recommend booking in advance. There is a semi outdoor area but this wasn't in use when we were there and there was only around 20 to 25 covers. This gives it an intimate and relaxed feeling and the atmosphere is wonderful. The same can be said about the food! There were lots of dishes on the menu. We would love to try but will have to do that when we go back. In a way, it is like Polish Tapas and we found four of the dishes more than enough and even got a takeaway. The black pudding was excellent, The duck absolutely delicious and I'm sure whatever we would've ordered. Would've been fantastic as well. The wine list is small, but we went for the beer anyway. The honey one was a little bit sweet so we just stuck with the Polish beer, which was delicious and went very well with the food.it's not expensive it's centrally located on deansgate so it is definitely worth a try..

Le personnel était très sympathique et serviable, et la nourriture était délicieuse. J’ai particulièrement aimé la soupe qui était parfaitement préparé et assaisonné. L’ambiance était également très agréable et relaxante, ce qui a rendu mon expérience encore plus agréable. Je recommande vivement ce restaurant à tous ceux qui cherchent une excellente cuisine et un service exceptionnel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Platzki where we received a warm welcome and excellent service. From the sharing menu we had tomato bread, pierogi, pork, garlic potatoes, stuffed cabbage leaves and cod in a tomato based sauce. Everything was delicious. The apple pie and chocolate cheesecake were very good too. Make sure you reserve to avoid disappointment and make sure you visit the loo … I won’t spoil the surprise for you!

A quirky and relaxed place to eat. Selection of small plates for the main course. Rich flavours and well-prepared food. Would heartily recommend for a relaxing start to the evening or end of a day shopping. Staff are friendly and helpful without being a nuisance. Will definitely be eating here again.
