I think the food is good and the portion sizes were big! We were dining whilst there was a birthday and the staff were incredible and made the event unforgettable!

If you are a foodie I would AVOID going here, you will be sorely disappointed. Just because a place is crowded it DOES not mean the food is good! There was absolutely NO FLAVOUR to the Lamb cubes, it was dry and tastless. The portion of rice was ungenerous as was the salad a mere Canteen salad. And then to be charged £20.95 for it was thoroughly disappointing. I hope you see this review on time before you make you're choice to eat here (save yourself £50+)

The food quality is really good , the meat is soft and very tender. The seating is nice and cozy and the people that work there are very friendly.

This has been the worst takeaway I have ever ordered. I never usually leave reviews but I had to with this shocking company. We ordered 4 cheesy chips and 3 piece fried chicken and 1 Hawaiian pizza. We did not receive the pizza and received no apology from the restaurant. The cheesy chips were £7 each and were awful quality. This was a disgusting order that amounted to £52 in total and I am disgusted by the service and the quality. Beware if you ever order from this place. They are scam artists. I ordered my food and waited 20 mins while others came, were served and went. When I asked where my food was they asked for proof I had paid! I had to get my banking app open and the cashier took my phone off me to show his boss! He then told me I should be listening for my food to be called out, but they hadn't made it yet! Shocking service at a high price. Avoid.

I have eaten moussaka at plenty of turkish restaurants as it is one of my favourite dishes, but this was very sub par. Barely any lamb, I was actually searching for it, and no classic layers, just the smallest amount of lamb mixed up with vegetables and topped with cheese.

Amazing Turkish place with delicious food! I lived in Manchester in 2020 during the pandemic and didn't get a chance to try it out. Now, after four years, I finally got the chance, and the wait was worth it! I had the Humus as a starter and the Adana Kebab for the main dish, and both were very delicious. The environment of the place is great, really traditional, and the place was packed with people. Soner (one of the owner's sons) was my waiter, he was very friendly and made great suggestions, the place has been in Manchester for over 50 years, its an awesome family business with a lot of tradition. Even though the place was packed, service was excellent and the food came very quickly. Its a must!

Really tasty food at a reasonable price. The service was very friendly and efficient, getting our food to the table within 15 minutes of ordering so we got to the theatre on time. This restaurant has been around for years and for very good reason. A perfect pre theatre meal with friends, many thanks guys

Decent Turkish place. Service was a little slow and confused on what seemed to be a not very busy evening. Food was alright- the chicken sizzler was very tasty and the islander kebab entrees was good, although a bit on the greasy end. Really enjoyed the loaded fries of all things! Decent value for the dinner combo.

One of our great Turkish favourites for family lunch together. Great food plus service. We were celebrating an 18th Birthday for a nephew of ours. The food plus the service by Elif was exquisite. It's been our favourite Turkish restaurant for well over 35 years and we have never been let down. The owner Sharif's DNA keeps flowing through and through via his next generation plus staff. Keep it UP.

Came here last time we visited Manchester and it did not disappoint. Lovely unassuming Turkish restaurant, decor smart, staff very attentive, food delicious and price very reasonable empty plates all round.

Went here for my husbands 50th birthday celebrations, just the 2 of us and it was absolutely fantastic. Used to visit all the time when working in Manchester but hadn’t been in a while, yet this is where he wanted to go, and it didn’t disappoint. great service, brilliant for a night out

The food was excellent, well done to the chef, the professional service, a small downside for the slightly sad atmosphere, perhaps coming from the south of France I am used to more atmosphere and light. In any case, well done and thank you.

We visited this restaurant during a family trip to Manchester and unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience. We ordered *çorba*, *sarma*, *Bursa kebab*, and *karnıyarık*. The *sarma* tasted like it came straight from a can, and *karnıyarık* was really bad. Overall, the quality of the food did not meet our expectations.

Visited Deansgate yesterday day with 2 friends and my wife. Great experience. The staff were nice and friendly and the food was really good. We visit Manchester restaurants often but have never been in here. Will definitely visit again with other friends.

Very accommodating with my 11 year old with half portion off main menu. Was visiting for weekend and glad we found this restaurant as both food and especially the service were excellent.

I'm sat in this takeaway right now having ordered shawarma and chips. The meat is in massive chunks and rubbery (like it's been sat there for ages). I wasn't even offered any salad on the side. The guy who took my order was miserable, he really should get another job if he's not happy in his work life. Don't waste your money, I won't be again.

I’ll be honest the restaurant is a little unassuming when you see it during the day and I was worried that we had chosen wrong on our trip to Manchester. Happy to say we did not! The restaurant was quite cosy and inviting at 7.45 with a few tables in albeit quieter as it was a Sunday. We shared the sucuk and the haloumi to start, both of which were delicious. For main my sister had the moussaka and I the chicken kebab. Both were lovely, plentiful portions and quite reasonably priced, served with rice and salad. We had a bottle of the rose Prosecco which at £28.95 was also good value. The staff are lovely, efficient and friendly, always making sure the glasses were topped up and checking everything was ok. No service charge is added on so we were happy to round up the very reasonable bill. All in all a lovely night and would happily recommend.

We asked for 8 GBP for a salad, 6.90 GBP for Iskender for lentil soup, and we got chicken and Izmir kofte :) It's a useless place.

This place has been here for years but I feel that it has sat on its previous reputation and as the competition have upped their game, I feel that this place has stagnated and is relying on its past reputation. I visited and had the doner kebab, which found was expensive for what you get and it was just ok. I’ve had much better kebabs from takeaway so I was definitely disappointed in the quality. It’s perfectly serviceable but it’s not hard to find better. Overall, a generous 5 out of 10.

We are here last night . This was our second visit . The food was lovely and very good value . We all had the set menu and choose a lovely bottle of Lebenese red wine . I will return when in Manchester .

I recently visited Manchester and had my first dinner at this remarkable Turkish restaurant. I opted for a generous Turkish mix grill paired with lentil soup. The food was absolutely delicious, and the fresh green salad on the side made it the perfect choice. Throughout my stay, I tried several highly-rated restaurants, but none matched the exceptional experience I had here. The atmosphere is vibrant, with Turkish music enhancing the dining experience. Before leaving Manchester, I made sure to return for another meal. This time, I chose the seabass plate, and my second experience was just as outstanding as the first. This restaurant truly stands out, offering consistently excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere.

The staff was incredibly rude and tried to get rid of us as fast as possible after we'd finished eating (the entire place was empty except for one other table). They came up to us when we had finished our mains and wanted to order another coffee or dessert and said "We'll bring the bill". The entire place also seems to be sickeningly pretentious and offers mediocre (at best) food for horrendous prices. Avoid unless you like to be insulted, they lack basic politeness.

Visited with family and unfortunately I have to say the food was average. Many basic things missing that you normally expect from a Turkish restaurant. No complimentary bread or dips, the bread that came with the hummus was cheap pitta bread not Turkish in any way. The main meals were takeaway quality but not takeaway prices, just so disappointing.

to believe in the "evil eye amulet" protecting you (from harm, etc) is shirk because you are associating partners with allah. i kindly want to request the owner reconsidering the use of this symbol in the logo and anywhere else (it felt necessary to mention since this is presumably owned by muslims, and shirk is a sin that throws a person out of the pale of islam)

1st of all the wine was not nice and tasted cheap. Most of the dishes were served with the same kind of undressed salad. Everything was just bland and simple not worth the asking price. Really disappointing. Portions were small as well.

I have been coming here for decades and the food, service and atmosphere have always been great. After my last visit the only thing I have to say is that the mixed mezi for two was not upto its usual standards. You usually get at least 3/4 dips vine leaves and meatballs which were all missing this time and with just one dip of hummus didn’t justify the price of £17.95. The mains were spot on as usual.

Nothing special TBH, just your typical Turkish food, there are much better places in Manchester for Turkish food. You're paying more for the location. Service was a bit sketchy but it was a busy Saturday night to be fair and the food was served very quickly.

The only good thing here is the location of the restaurant, everything else is very bad, it has nothing to do with Turkish cuisine, do not go there.

We ate here as a family almost 2 years ago, and only now do I feel like I have emotionally recovered and feel able to share it. Where do I start? The below picture, is what I received. Important I add at this point that it’s not what I ordered. I ordered a chicken sizzler, in a Turkish restaurant. Apparently this is a sizzler. I checked with the chicken on the plate and it told me it had already swam 4 lengths on its way out to me. I could have back a dodgy dish, it can happen. I think I naively then expected as a customer to be able to raise this (politely) may I add to the staff, who surely would put things right. I didn’t realise that although this restaurant is called Topkapi, I actually was being served by all the ex Karen’s diner staff. They could not shut me down quick enough. I suppose it gets like that though when someone challenges you on your soup dish, sorry sizzler. A bit of a mad experience. I’m not saying don’t eat here, if you like misleading menus or wanna play dish roulette, I’m backing you give this a 5 stars all the way and tell your tik tok about it.

We had prebooked a table for 6 and got a nice booth. The food was great and very reasonably priced. All in all a great experience.

6 of us had a fabulous lunch here yesterday. The service was warm and friendly, we arrived early and were allowed to sit and have a drink at our table even though they dont open until 12 pm. This was so kind as we had two children with us and it was raining outside, so thank you for that. We had the lunchtime menu , and wow, what amazing value for money. I had the mixed meze and chicken sizzler. Throughly enjoyed the well flavoured and cooked meal. I can't believe how generous the portions were. We were offered more Pitta bread and drinks replenished swiftly. The children were catered to, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat and will definitely return when we are next in Manchester.

Disappointed. Small plates, pricey... I was excited it was my first time in a Turkish restaurant and the waiter wasn't really chatty or informative. I had to ask lots of questions instead of him explain me a little bit about turkish cuisine or recommend anything. Also not friendly at all. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back. Overpriced for what it actually is.

Amazing food, full of flavour and some really good options. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and engaging. The lady serving us made the experience just that much better. Will definitely be returning here again and will recommend it to friends!

Turkish people are well-known with their hospitality attitude but this fact doesn’t apply to employees of this restaurant. At some point I really thought the waitress was going to beat us. Customer service must be done with smiley face and polite manner. Make sure your employees know how to serve. Definitely not going there again and not recommending to anyone. If you want to eat halal food or Turkish food, you can try other restaurants in Manchester.
