The bouncer here denied me entry due to me wearing a jumper and trousers. He was dismissive and rude - it ruined my evening making me feel inadequate because I hadn’t ’dressed up’ on a Wednesday night where it was 3 degrees outside. For context, I’m 31 and have never been turned away from a bar based on my clothing. I’d just come from blues kitchen dressed like this too, with no issues. However having read the other reviews on the bouncers here, it seems they turn women away a lot for all sorts of reasons that don’t seem to make sense (such as saying someone’s drunk when they’re sober). I’d like someone from management to contact me about this because it sounds as though they have discrimanotory employees who are left unchecked, making people feel insecure and less than, simply for wanting to enter a bar. I’d recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want someone in a position of ‘authority’ making their opinion a reason to curtail your night and your confidence.

Food was impeccable!! From starters to dessert the food was top notch! Our server was very kind and was willing to help with whatever queries we had. She was very chatty and engaged with our group well. The atmosphere is phenomenal with their live performances and even the music on the speakers in between. Their drinks menu is also great with a wide selection of international beers and very tasty cocktails. Would definitely recommend

I was visiting my friends in Manchester last night and decided to pop into Albert schloss, it was so fun and the live music was great. I was served by Tara on the bar who was so fun and friendly. My friends may have found their new favourite bar as I will be returning every time I’m in Manchester

My boyfriend and I popped in for food last night, and wow—the service was top-notch! We went for the Fondue, which was pure, melty, cheesy heaven—exactly what we needed to warm up on a chilly evening! We were having such a great time that we couldn’t resist heading to the bar for a few drinks, and we’re so glad we did! The atmosphere was buzzing, the vibe was unique, and the staff? Absolutely amazing. A special shout-out to our bartender (pretty sure her name was Tara or Zara—she had some serious eyeliner) who kept us entertained and made our night even more fun. We’ll definitely be back—thank you for making our date night one to remember!

Ordered a Hofbrau beer, it was cloudy slightly vinegary I explained to bar man it wasn't right. I didn't want to be that guy but had just been to hofbrau haus in munich, I was told it was supposed to be cloudy not sure if that was a manchester joke. Shame I couldn't just be given a fresh beer as we didn't end up ordering food because of it and probably won't return now

Place was so packed you can't move without touching people. Food was ok, but not really worth the price. Dining area was squashed into the main area so you're eating food with people constantly banging against you. Music was so loud we were having to text each other to talk. Was a good night, but I wouldn't go again from choice.

Called in here a couple of times when staying in Manchester this weekend. Beautiful looking bar and the staff were very helpful on the beer selection. Was gonna call back in on Sunday night but the place was packed as there was live music on. If in the area make time for a beer.

Lovely cocktails I can’t remember what mine was called but I asked the lovely bar staff for the most popular, they are reasonable prices too! if you want to sit your gonna have to book but the atmosphere was great and downstairs by the toilets is a cheeky Photo Booth which was great fun and only £1 for 3 pictures!

This place has really good service. Food is always good. The love shows and music are always enjoyable however it does get extremely busy here. During a night it can be a bit like sardines. Door staff are always very nice

As expected this is an awesome experience coming here. Very busy but a lot of bar staff churn through the work. To really experience you need to book a table and have dinner there. May even spot a celebrity or 2 if you’re lucky!!

Good atmosphere and food. Shame about the wait for a table even after booking (for two people) whilst watching other couples without a booking be accompanied straight to a table so seemed to have been forgotten about.

Quick service and friendly atmosphere

They advertise 7 days of entertainment but when we got there for a birthday they had no entertainment on. About 70 people in at 9pm and they said it’s a bit quiet. Very disappointed

I was here for dinner and thought the food was lovely with good beers and fun atmosphere. Essentially, it is a mini German/Austrian bierhaus in the middle of Manchester. Solid. I got the pretzel (so nice for starter/snack) and schnitzel with pasta!

Today, February 2nd, I had the worst experience in a club I've ever had. We flew to Manchester with friends to see a football match. After ordering a beer, my friends went to the toilet. While I was dancing alone, two security guards came up to me and said that they had to talk to me outside. I asked why, but then respectfully went outside with them. When we arrived, one of them claimed that he had apparently seen me blowing something up my nose. After I grinned, as I've never done anything like that in my life, I replied that I've never done that. Then they both said that I should have a nice evening and that this one was over. I was shocked. After I realized what had happened, I spoke to security guards outside and explained the situation to them in a very respectful manner. In the end, my jacket and all my friends were still inside. Unfortunately, I got feedback from three different people that they didn't have time at the moment. They suddenly had time for drunk people. After that, in my helplessness, I contacted the police - but they also had better things to do. I have never seen such disrespectful employees. Luckily, my friends were able to get my jacket. They couldn't really enjoy the evening then. But it remains a shameful experience that will always stay with me. Unfortunately in a negative way. If I had been told that I didn't fit the picture, I would have been fine with it, but I don't see the point in throwing me out for no reason because they think I'm alone. Making up accusations just makes it worse. It also felt very discriminatory, which is why I will take legal action when I get back to Switzerland. It is important to me that other people learn from this experience and avoid this club. I can't recommend it at all.

Excellent lunch here with a slight Austrian 🇦🇹 theme , with Austrian beer. Very theatrical setting , good fun and friendly, helpful and efficient service from ' king John ' .

I just had a beer. But the place is fantastic. A giant bar, great interior and packed with people. Feels a bit like a afterski bar.

Possibly the best pub in Manchester. Definitely the best beer lineup in Manchester. They have some seriously fantastic beers in this place, from the Czech tank beer pilsner urquell to German pauliner and Austrian stigl. You will not be disappointed. I opted for the short rib burger on sourdough with skin on fries and brisket gravy to dip in. It was possibly the best burger I ever had. Credit to the manager for making this happen for me as it was an off the menu request. Although with how the Germans like their sourdough, it should possibly be on the menu. We will be back. (Again)

It's very expensive but has a good atmosphere even midweek.

Mistakes happen it’s how you deal with them. We were a group of 8 coming in for Sunday breakfast in January, staff were great and very attentive but somehow the order got mixed up and items missed. They immediately came up owned the mistake and stated how it would be rectified before we even knew what had happened. Very refreshing and little fuss and the food when it came was superb which we all enjoyed and would definitely visit again. Well done Team well handled 👍

We were visiting Manchester for the day, and had never heard of Albert Schloss. We were looking for somewhere to lunch, and this place looked really interesting. It was incredible!! we both love Negroni cocktails and so I ordered a couple. They were made with care, and were probably the best we never had anywhere! The meals were excellent, and we had for dessert, some strudel and some crème brûlée (or a “German” version of it). Excellent ! When it came to get the bill for some reason, we don’t really understand the desserts had been deleted from the bill! Our server said they were complimentary! We naturally accepted! Albert Schloss is a great place to be highly recommended!

This place is fantastic! The guard is really kind and allowed us in without any problems. The barman was also quite wonderful and made us some delicious cocktails! 🥰❤️

Avoid for Sunday lunch. Food cold and when you tell them roast potatoes come back like bullets. Staff nice and very polite. Most definitely can't cook Sunday dinner

Don’t tell them you’re a stag or hen party or you won’t be allowed through the door. The venue cancelled our booking as soon as I mentioned we were in Manchester for the weekend celebrating a hen do. I absolutely understand the need to enforce no fancy dress, hen/stag party games, props etc, however forbidding a group of friends to make a booking for drinks and dancing, just because the purpose of their weekend is to celebrate a friend getting married, makes no sense. Had I have told you we were attending for a birthday celebration, you would have been none the wiser which makes this rule utterly pointless.

A very pleasant atmosphere, within walking distance of Manchester city center. A pleasant environment. Quiet on weekdays. There are fun and live music performances. He has a polite team. Very hygienic. If you go on a weekday, you are likely to find a place by the fire.

We liked It so much! The environment, the drinks the food were all pretty good. And a special shout-out to Antonio, our comrade from Spain that treat us warmly and the feel like in home. Definitely we'll repeat!

Bouncer called Sam, we spent £500 inside then this security didn't want to let us in because of us saying the music wasn't our vibe then let us in after saying no. Trying to push his authority. Music is poor

Dropped in speculatively. Excellent atmosphere, great choice of drinks.....and the food.....superb. It was almost like being in Germany.

Treated Unfairly and Felt Unsafe Albert’s Schloss was once a place I looked forward to visiting for its live music and vibrant atmosphere, but my recent experiences left me feeling harassed, unsafe, and ultimately treated as if I was the problem when I was the victim. On one occasion, I was persistently harassed by an individual who repeatedly invaded my personal space and, shockingly, forcibly kissed me on the cheek without my consent. This was an incredibly inappropriate and violating experience. When I expressed my discomfort, I was dismissed rather than supported. On another visit, a group of patrons near me was relentlessly rude and invasive. Despite my best efforts to de-escalate the situation and move away, their behaviour continued. I felt deeply uncomfortable as they pushed into my space and tried to provoke a reaction. Yet, instead of addressing their inappropriate behaviour, I was approached by security and told to leave the venue. This left me feeling humiliated and unfairly blamed for a situation where I was clearly the victim. Albert’s Schloss has always had great staff and talented performers, but these experiences were a stark contrast to the safe, welcoming environment I once appreciated. I hope management takes these incidents seriously, ensuring that no other guest is left feeling harassed or treated unjustly. No one should have to endure such experiences in a place meant for enjoyment. Thank you, Monika, for taking the time to investigate this matter thoroughly. I appreciate your professionalism and the effort Albert's Schloss is putting into ensuring guest safety and resolving the situation. I have updated my review accordingly and will check my email for further updates on the resolution. I am hopeful that this matter will be resolved in the best way possible for all parties involved. Hi on Saturday I went out to Albert schloss with my friend, then when we got there the bouncer wouldn’t let her in even though she showed her Id.even though to make it worse for her,her girlfriend and me her friend was a loud in my friend was obviously upset at this instance. He then asked her for her bank card which has never happened before. As a whole we aren’t happy with the bouncers how they treated my friend.

I didn't have much expectations of the food at Albert's Schloss since I've only ever been for drinks, but I was positively surprised by their Full English Breakfast! It was very well seasoned and tasted nicer than a standard English Breakfast. I also went on a Sunday morning (around 11am/12noon) and would recommend booking ahead of time as they were very busy!

Usually like this place a lot but the New Year’s Eve event wasn’t worth it at all. Vastly oversold with 2 deep at the bar which I wasn’t expecting given the £45 price tag. In addition all chairs were removed from the venue for some reason. Entertainment was also extremely substandard compared to a regular weekend. Most definitely won’t consider coming back for a big event again, and truthfully, it’s put me off wanting to go back at all.

Visited with my boyfriend and ordered coctails. The coctails in the menu was priced at 11,5£ each and I payed 25£ both. When I asked the bartender why she told me that the price is at 12,5 each and the menu is wrong. Furthermore we earlier ordered a coctail of the menu but overpriced at 17£ at a very poor quality. Nice atmospheric place but there are far better bars with coctails worth everything penny.

Catalogue prices are different from reality. You order cocktails in the price of 11£ as you see inside the catalogue and when you pay, the amount is 12.50£. When I asked the barwoman why I had to pay an extra 1.50£, she mentioned to me that the prices had changed and they didn't update the catalogues. This is ridiculous and illegal. All the shops have to write the correct prices on the catalogues otherwise they can make you pay anything they want. (BTW I paid 17.95£ for a Mai Tai cocktail) I call it snatch!!

The pork knuckle and sausage platter were absolutely delicious—authentic flavors and perfectly cooked! I would also like to give special thanks to Tsvetan, who provided outstanding service. He was attentive, professional, and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. His efforts truly enhanced our dining experience. Highly recommend this place！

I did enjoy the food here however I think it wasn't really the place for me. After a certain time this goes from restaurant to nightclub in the space of about 2 minutes at which point it really isn't a comfortable place to come for a meal. The music is loud to the point that you can't converse with people on your table. This was really my fault however for not looking into this before hand.

Ambience top, it's a flop. Service was completely wrong. After paying, he ran away without saying a word and demanded the receipt, which was completely ignored. No hello, no ciao. There was no Schnitzel & Cordonbleu or anything similar that defines German cuisine and was on the menu. The food that was left was really not good. We would never come again. Not worth a visit.

I went in with my family and it was a great place until I went out for a cigarette and tried to get back in, was told I couldn't..I asked why, and I was told I was too drunk. I am very interested in the alcohol served here for a patron to be fine at the bar but be too drunk once outside having a cigarette? My whole family of 15 had to leave due to this bouncers power trip, thanks for that!

A great time and probably the most buzzing place in Manchester between Christmas and NY! Only word of caution which realised afterwards… overcharged for 2 beers by a small amount each time… over £7 a pint and didn’t realise till this morning… Bar busy… asked for 2 pints, card machine pointed to pay without showing the price… Assume a tip automatically added without confirming which is a little naughty by the staff… If this happens each time the tip jar must be huge! Been to Birmingham one and didn’t happen… been here many times after fogs at Albert Hall and not happened … hoping just a rogue staff member

Hands down the best Apple Strudel I’ve ever tasted! The sauce has the perfect sweetness to balance the apple’s flavour. The inside was soft with the outer pastry being crispy make it really enjoyable to eat. 🫶

Just magnificent. It attracts the young and beautiful and the wealthy and you can see why: it's got everything you want from a night or afternoon out. It's massive and it was buzzing (too busy for my liking but that's me). The venue is astonishing; what a gorgeous building. Full marks.

We visited Albert Schloss for our works Christmas meal recently having booked in advance. When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we were urged to get a drink at the bar which at 3pm in the afternoon was so overcrowded it was ridiculous and inaccessible. Eventually we were seated right on the edge of an area of people standing and drinking right over our shoulders. The place was far too busy and overcrowded to a point where a number of us commented on what the safe capacity of the place actually was...as it had surely gone over that amount. The food was fine, nothing unbelievable, average but not bad value. Service from our waiter was very good and they also took the time to be very attentive to one of our diners who is coeliac. The toilets here are a disgrace. Obviously I can only speak for the mens but there isn't a tenth of the toilets required for the amount of people...one of the toilet bowls was overflowing with vomit... urine all over the floors, more what you would expect at 3am in a dingy club toilet, not a restaurant/bar in Manchester at 3pm. The amount of people probably ruined it in the end but the service and food were fine.

Good place for drinks and bounce, but very busy over weekends. The only toilet available in the basement ( loads of stairs ) doesn't make it easier when you are tipsy.

Security guards need more training

Piss poor service again. One guy behind bar, week before Xmas. He eventually come round to our side. Doesn't even ask who is first. We had been there for 8mins. We hollered..it's us! He said, I'm working up the bar! Piss poor. Always is.

Overall such an amazing place! It holds a special place in my heart as I usually go for special occasions plus it’s where me and my boyfriend had our first date! The staff are so so nice and the food/drinks are great! Can’t forget the live music/entertainment it is always full of fun and laughter! Always leaving satisfied ❤️ Highly recommend to anyone visiting Manchester and want a good nightout/lunch date spot.

Eaten here a few times this year when in Manchester, food and service has been excellent and didn’t disappoint on a recent visit with friends when it was a really busy Saturday in December. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Great atmosphere, good range of drinks and food

Ordered a dish without chives, arrived with chives. When I mentioned it they took it away and clearly just picked them off, some were still on it. The bacon was thick and rubbery and the croissant far too sweet to enjoy. Very expensive for what is a very disappointing meal.

Went for drinks and dancing - due to personal circumstances not a great night but the bartender (?Tara, girl with hair) was really attentive to notice. Her energy like showing off making drinks while keeping conversation in a loud bar changed my night completely and I had a good time 💕💕💕

Always enjoy the atmosphere here. It does get absolutely rammed some evenings but if you can get a seat, you could stay all night and have a great time.

Good vibe but the bodyguards are discriminative, they didn’t let me in, one of them said I was drunk even tho I didn’t any have drinks!! such a shame and disappointing.

Disappointed on my latest visit. I did email them about my concerns but have had no response 😕 so I'll post my complaint on here. Dear Albert's Schloss Team, I am writing to express my disappointment following my visit to your Manchester venue on Sunday, 8th December. While I understand that pricing in city centre establishments can be higher than average, I found the price of £7.30 for a pint of Erdinger quite steep. However, my main concern lies with the handling of tipping at the bar. When I purchased my first pint, I was presented with the card terminal, which gave me the option to select a tip. I chose the 0% option, as tipping is not customary in pubs in England. For my subsequent purchases, however, the bar staff handed me the card terminal with a pre-selected tip already added, bringing the price of a pint to £7.80. I was not given the option to decide for myself, which I find underhanded and disappointing. This practice feels greedy and unprofessional, leaving me with a very negative impression of what is otherwise a reputable establishment. I would appreciate clarification on your tipping policies and an assurance that such practices are addressed to prevent similar experiences for other customers.
