Albert's Schloss in Manchester

Went for a night out, live music is entertaining, not really my thing but that’s personal preference. Main reason for 3 stars is because it’s completely packed, you can barely move and it makes ordering drinks a pain. Floor is sticky because you will probably spill your drinks trying to move away from the bar. Don’t think it attracts the best crowd either.

Absolutely brilliant place to visit with friends or family great value for money and you will never leave hungry

This place doesn’t even deserve a star! The bouncers left me on my own! Whole letting my boyfriend and his mate into to the bar accusing me of being too drunk when I have had 3 drinks discussing behaviour and laughing at me on my own luckily my boyfriend came back to me and left the place complaining only to be called and pathetic! Nasty bouncers but let people with coke around there nose in ! Very weird and I’m writing this classed too pissed ! Nasty people

Had Lunch with my daughter on her 21st Birthday. An amazing experience. The staff were fantastic. The food was delicious. We had the best time ever, and it was not expensive. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you so much. You made our day!

Myself and my friend came here last Friday night and were told we weren’t allowed in as we’d had too much to drink. This was not the case at all, and we did nothing to provoke this response from the bouncer. He was really rude to us, and we didn’t understand how when we were just stood there, he decided we’d had too much to drink ? When questioning him on this, he couldn’t give us a valid reason. Left really confused by it all to be honest

Great place for a beer but its so noisey in there you cant hear each other speak at times. Better during the week when the atmosphere is better.

That was really fun. Such a buzzing place on a Monday night. But perhaps, because St Vincent were/was in town, just around the corner. Who I managed to see. Annie Clark. Just wow. Meantime, here, the food was really good, if you like the genre and style. Would definitely come back.

Breakfast was nice but the glass at the table had a long crack along it. Tea came up with no cup and only 1 sugar. Had to ask for cup and for sugar twice. When my partner finished his breakfast they took the plate away whilst I was still eating.

I visited for breakfast on a Saturday having been there on a Sunday with the amazing DJ. The food was superb on both occasions and the chilled atmosphere is just a perfect way to start the weekend. The bar transforms after breakfast and is a magnificent relaxed beer hall with an astonishing choice of premium draft lagers, pilsners, cocktails and ales of all description! This is a brilliant place for everyone to come and have a good time, the food is delicious, and the choice of drinks is remarkable. The old decor, stained glass windows and aged tiling along with the beautiful ceiling and central island bar (even a fire) make this a special place you really should visit.

Large German themed bar in the Albert Hall building. Huge central serving island with lots of fizzy beers. Used to sell a real ale but long gone. Live music at times and can be very vibrant. I had a good pint of some German fizzy Pils. Prefer it when in Germany but I like this bar. Had good hot dog previous visit. Returned Oct 2024 with Albrecht for a meal in the restaurant corner of the bar. Very filling, really enjoyed Albrecht treating us.

Went with my female friends for a nice meal then decided to go in here for a drink don’t get me wrong the actual place is nice but one particular bouncer who had a right shilling on himself and I’ll tell you he was just your below average looking guy stopped my friend who had had two drinks before hand and was no where near intoxicated and said she was too drunk to come in she was not anywhere near drunk ! She was so upset and it made her feel insecure about herself ! The bouncers need to be taught manners and how to avoid these stupid situations ! Who does he think he was ? You wear a uniform mate your a bouncer just had a little power trip did we ! Won’t be going again and thanks to the head bouncer who could see she was clearly sober and let her in

We came for drinks early afternoon on Sunday and the atmosphere was nice but we were made to feel uncomfortable by staff. We had never been before and were unsure about where to sit as we weren't getting food. We double checked with the hostess on the door where we could sit for drinks and she was very polite, telling us anywhere near the bar area where there wasn't a reserved card. We picked a random booth right beside the bar where there was no card and two of us went to the bar for drinks, leaving one of our party sitting by herself. She was approached by a waitress who was nice but confused as she believed there was a reservation on the table. Our friend explained what the hostess had told her and a few minutes later the hostess came to the table with a very different attitude, talking quite rudely and basically accusing our friend of taking the card off the table. My friend was very apologetic and embarrassed as this was not the case at all and we had already been quite anxious in making sure we weren't taking a reserved table. The hostess just turned her back on my friend and had the nastiest look on her face as we quickly returned back to help her move. Everyone around us was staring at us which made it even worse. Returning to the bar, one of the bartenders was very rude to a party of 3 women (of different ethnicity) who seemed very polite and laughed with us awkwardly as the bartender walked away. I was nervous getting served as he'd seemed agitated but was very polite to me and my friend (we were white). it was quite an uncomfortable experience all round as the bar itself was lovely.

Brilliant afternoon/evening on a Sunday will be returning very soon for the 6th time this year 😁 recommended to anyone 👍🏻

Was denied entry into the club by a bouncer (told I was too drunk though I was completely sober, not even had one drink at this point). I was allowed entrance by another bouncer… the bouncer who denied me entry and said I was too ‘drunk’ must of been on some sort of power trip and the only authority in his life was taking it out on a young woman. Absolutely disgraceful, will never step foot in this place again and I will tell no one else too.

im sorry to write this but omg! I visited tonight as apart of our managers night out With Hydes Brewery. I went to the toilet and as I was in there a member was in there, I thought that he wanted to use the toilet before me and asked him, to his mean face No! I came out to meet my party and after 10mins I was confronted by him and a fellow security member, they accused me of being drunk and escorted me to the door! I did not resist as I’m a licensee of my own public house in the city centre! If I was drunk I would agree and leave but I got attitude from the whole door team and got dismissed even when I showed them my license and driving licence to the pub I live in!!! I’m very disappointed with the way I was handled and would like a full response from the management team!! Regards Chris Rankin Manager-

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Sunday Roast - with all of the trimmings - in a lively, entertaining environment. And no washing up afterwards. Delicious!

It’s a short walk from Oxford Road station & the Palace Theatre so was perfect place to enjoy lunch before heading to see Book of Mormon

As someone who's worked a lot in Germany, I knew I was gonna be critical in my head (one of those entitled and self titled experts!). Food was top, all well seasoned and authentic flavours. Minors which I won't rate down, as realistically it's a busy old place: the toilets weren't very clean and only 2 cubicals for a huge venue, but didn't stop us enjoying the great atmosphere. Also maybe add a Dunkel beer :/ BITTE :)

Amazing brunch, great service and atmosphere, and the double toilet was hilarious.

Usually only go for drinks, but recently went to eat too. The vegan wurst was actually really tasty, which was a good thing as there isn't much else vegan on the menu which makes it tricky when you're out as part of a group. It does mean I wouldn't rush back to eat again because it'd mean having the same thing, would be great to see a vegan burger on the menu. However as I say, if you're going out in a group, at least you know there's a vegan option here which saves any awkwardness :) staff were great, it was a busy Friday night and they were still friendly and attentive.

My favourite place in Manchester, always a good evening there, drinks are a little more expensive than some of the other places around, but well worth it. There's always a range of live entertainment on too, so a great night out. Sometimes a little slow to get served, but when it's busy there isn't much they can do about that

The place is nice and cosy! Vinessa and the staff are friendly, and the food was prepared quickly. We asked for an extra egg with the English breakfast, but they forgot to add it. After we reminded them, they quickly provided the add-on we asked for.

Great afternoon. The staff were helpful, polite and engaged on a natural level. Very informative and helpful if you have a food allergy. They leave you with an electronic menu showing you the meals you can have which omit your food allergy. Although this may slim down your choices, you can dine with confidence. Amazingly some of the food options that I thought I would have ordered, actually contained my food allergy, albeit in small quantities. We had a lovely afternoon dining.

The atmosphere, entertainment and the bar staff are great but unfortunately the door staff let the place down. They are obnoxious and misogynistic. I’ve now witnessed three separate incidents where they have let their ‘power’ go to their heads, treating paying customers dreadfully. Down to this alone, it’s not somewhere I feel safe and it’s certainly not a place I’d want my child to go. Management need to sort it out.

Considering it's German theme there was little to no choice for German beers. For me this is a opportunity missed. I probably won't visit again, sorry Schlossers.

Very friendly staff and good drinks

Great selection of beers to choose from, we stayed for a couple of drinks before our concert started. Loved the atmosphere in here, my wife had a couple of the cocktails and said they were delicious. Can’t wait to return next time we are in the area.

Incredibly homophobic, came here to celebrate my friends birthday and my gay ( only male friend in the group who is sober) wasn’t allowed in. Very worrying rhetoric and incredibly emotionally damaging for him. Fed up of having to allow this behaviour with the rhetoric of it being ‘less boys aloud’ they know exactly what they are doing and it is disgusting. Will never be returning to this homophobic establishment. My 4 female friends who were very drunk got let in, yet my one male gay friend who was sober due to driving didn’t get in.

My friend had her phone stolen off the table that’s she was SAT AT and the staff were nothing but unhelpful and dismissive. Wouldn’t allow us to check CCTV. I would give it 0 STARS if i could

Absolute joke of a venue. Had my phone stolen off the table I was dancing on went straight to the door staff as soon as I realised who directed me to a young girl. Who then proceeded to tell me she cannot view cctv till the morning which is no use as the thief could still be in the venue. Will never be returning all I dealt with was rude staff who couldn't do less for you.

The food is delicious, and there are many different types of beer, including British, German, and Czech. It's the perfect place to learn about British culture in terms of service and atmosphere.

Food and beer selection is quite authentic and very wide. Music is quite loud though, not too easy to have a conversation. Fun for the night less for the evening.

We had recommendations to call in & were pleasantly surprised to see such an impressive long bar ahead of us. Bet its fantastic for Oktoberfest, because of its set up & long tables etc. We'll definitely return, when back in Manchester.

Slightly better than average. Add money on your drinks when entertainment is on so beware, because of this it's as far away as you can get from a typical German pub. Food is pretty good but value isn't really there with price. Krombacher is very good though, as it should be.

Just having breakfast here. Absolutely delicious. Hubby having full, I'm having a stuffed croissant and granola. As we are old we are fussy coffee drinkers and waitress has been lovely ensuring we had exactly what we want by adding another shot etc. can't recommend it enough.

It's a delightful oasis in deansgate. Beautiful setting. Food reasonable and tasty. The main attraction is the hospitality. They go over and above.

This was one of my favorite stops in Manchester. Midday on a Monday so it was slow but super service, atmosphere, and selection of food and beverage. Our barkeeper gave great recommendations and mixed some delicious cocktails. The food was outstanding! German with flair, we loved it!

We had a lovely breakfast last week, their cinnamon bun is to die for and the full english was delicious, especially the eggs. Service was lovely too with plenty of hospitality, which provided a great start to the day.

On a recent visit to Manchester, we were craving for an American and English breakfast. From the impeccable service to the outstanding food, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. The fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, and full English breakfast were all perfectly executed, leaving us craving more. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, delivering a dining experience that is hard to forget. This restaurant is a must-visit!

Would strongly recommend not going if you just want a drink. You'll pay £7 for something that's cheaper on the menu, wait a significant time to get served and constantly get asked to move by staff because you can't stand wherever you are for various reasons. Been to a lot of bars over the last 15 years and this is honestly nothing special.

Fantastically good vegetarian breakfast!

It was a horrible experience. Wish we left for my ears and shoulders sake. They shouldn't be serving food on a Saturday. Basically eating on a nightclub dancefloor, while people bump in to you because you are seated in the way of the bar, that's so loud you can't hear someone yell a foot away. Forced to buy food too thanks to booking but if you leave cos you ears are hurting you'd get fined. We were right in the middle of foot traffic. Even got my shoulder hurt cos of a drunk throwing themself on to me while they were going to the bar. My friend booked thinking it would be separate and a bit loud but instead it was deafening and we felt we had to order something because we booked and that cost. The stage show was just bass you could feel and noise thanks to volume and you can't talk to anyone a foot away including waiters. So that's not great for ordering but the waiters did a good job. For the restaurant itself. They sat us in the centre of foot traffic next to a bar and towards another aswell as the entrance. Eventually some drunk woman slammed all of her weight in to my shoulder mid meal. Bound to happen in such a bad spot. Same drunk and her partner proceeded to dance an inch from the table almost rubbing their arses on my friends and staff saw no issue with that because clearly the dining spot we were put in is just on the club floor. You aren't supposed to be eating there. Food was alright but not worth the volume, chaos and drunkards bumping or falling on to you. If it wasn't for us booking thinking the restaurant part would be a restaurant and held to a deposit we would've left instantly. Don't go on a Saturday if you like your ears or want some space to eat, want to socialise without having to communicate via text. Oh and if you don't want randomers brushing, bumping, dancing or slamming in to you while you eat. Also the prices for drinks where increased because "showtime" (bass noise hell you can't even hear) and then we were given a service charge on top.

We were surprised to find this place so empty on a Sunday morning, especially given the repeated ‘warnings’ via email of being charged if we were late to our reservation etc. The promise of live music and entertainment never materialised but the atmosphere was still nice and somewhat different to any other breakfast option in the city. Sitting in one of the spacious booths in the window was great too. Service from the staff was good to begin with and the serving time of the food quick. I opted for the cook haus breakfast but it didn’t feel it justified the price charged. There was no butter for the toast and the pot of beans had clearly been left sat for a while since there was a layer of ‘skin’ on the top. The rest of the plate was fairly average in terms of flavours and nothing memorable. The drinks took too long to arrive and there was no offer of milk with the chai. The worst aspect of the meal was the service once we’d finished though - we were totally ignored by the staff and it was impossible to obtain the bill. We ended up asking the member of staff at the welcome desk, but the request was never followed up on. Wandering the restaurant with credit card in hand trying to find someone willing to take our payment took the edge off things, and with the average food probably won’t be rushing back as a result.
