20 Stories Restaurant in Manchester

Location is great, amazing views and nice restaurant. Food was very disappointing, we were gifted a voucher for a lunch set menu, rabbit starter was nice but it had a few bones and gristle in. The chicken I had for main was very bland and dry, dessert was very average. Sides are expensive for what they are, as are the drinks. They also add on a 13.5% service charge. Glad to have experienced it, but wouldn't go back.

We were looking forward to visiting here but after great expectations we left feeling underwhelmed. Firstly it’s a great setting. Great views overlooking the city on a sunny day. Nice attentive service which is what you expect. The food was mediocre at best. We were dining on a set 3 course menu and opted for soup and black pudding as the starters which were nice. We both had the chicken for main which was very poor. Very little meat, a lot of bone and slightly pink. The deserts again were nice. We had a voucher which we had been given for a birthday but when the bill came they add everything up, add on a service charge of 13.5%, add a donation to charity and then knock off your voucher total. So with a voucher for a free meal the bill came to around £70. Expensive, overpriced for the quality of food and we left disappointed. Would we return, not a chance. So many better restaurants around Manchester at a lot better value.

The place is classy and quiet. The food is clean. I recommend it.

We had been gifted a lunch experience for 20 Stories and the booking process was very easy. We arrived about 15 mins early for our 1pm booking and were asked to sit in the reception of the adjoining building as they had a private event. The concierge came to find us at 1pm to let us know we could go to the restaurant. Only 1 lift took you straight to the restaurant and the views over Manchester were very impressive on a fine day. The staff were very friendly and we were provided with a dedicated lunch menu for our experience. The pace of the meal and the food itself were just simply perfect. Portion size was generous. We were able to wander around d the venue to take pictures from all angles and noted that some people had gone up for a drink and the view. We paid for additional items from the menu and service charges were applied to the final bill. Highly recommend and Nancy our server was friendly and professional.

This restaurant (as the name signifies) is on the 20th floor of a building in Manchester City centre. The views of the city and surrounding area are excellent from the restaurant. We had a fixed menu which I understand is changed monthly. The food was very good indeed and portions were generous. The prices for a city centre restaurant of this type, were very fair. There were good gaps between the courses. We were looked after by Nancy who was professional and attentive. I would recommend 20 Stories and will visit again.

I recently visited 20 Stories, and I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive. They went above and beyond with little touches (such as a birthday treat) that really demonstrates they care about their guests. The food was equally impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and tasted great. Overall, I highly recommend 20 Stories for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience. Drinks only but very great place.

You obviously go for the view, but the atmosphere was much more relaxed and casual than I was expecting, in a good way!

I had the pleasure of dining at 20 stories in Manchester with some old pals, and it was excellent. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with stylish decor and a lively yet relaxed ambiance. And what an amazing view! The service was impeccable – attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. Florian looked after us well. The food was beautifully presented and really tasty. The drinks menu was equally impressive, with a fantastic selection of wines and expertly crafted cocktails. Overall, 20 stories is an excellent place to go - will definitely be back!

I highly rate this bar / restaurant, the whole place is a vibe with amazing views of Manchester. The cocktails are delicious and strong too, we didn’t eat here but will definitely visit again to dine. I can only imagine a night out here with friends would be so fun too.

Had a virgin experience at 20 stories. Menu wasn't good and very expensive if you added sides £6 for any side. Food was cooked well . Server was covering atleast 10 tables so had to wait for any service . Overall lovely venue but wouldn't go back for food experience

20 Stories is a must visit when in Manchester! Absolutely stunning views of the skyline & the vibes are unmatched. Shoutout to the amazing lady that served us! Unfortunately I didn’t manage to catch her name but she was so warm, friendly & attentive offering great recommendations & making sure we were comfortable all throughout. She really made the experience extra special! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable experience in Manchester. Great drinks, fantastic service & stunning views!

The resteraunt is lovely and the staff professional, but the food was terrible. It lacked taste, and the pork i had was gristly. We heard some other people complaining about their dish, which was different to ours. We would not go again.

Restaurant with a truly spectacular view, with a family welcome, all the staff in the room were very kind and friendly, especially Mirco, an extremely knowledgeable person who was able to give us the best advice on both the wine and the dishes to choose from. The quality of the dishes is truly exceptional, you really have a very pleasant evening and will definitely return.

Food amazing. Staff very good. Came as a table of 7 family members. Music so so loud we couldn’t talk across the table. Shame really. Nice place but it’s like eating dinner in a nightclub

Organized a business dinner for 16 people and the staff were absolutely magnificent. No detail was left unchecked and the dishes were delicious. So many compliments were made about the restaurants vibe, aesthetic, and prompt/ attentive staff. I had requested the logos of my two companies to be printed on our menus and the organizer Breeze was very hands on with getting everything just right leading up. Our server / host Alex was constantly making sure no glass was empty and checking in on everyone’s comfort and meals. We opted for a three course meal and each dish got better and better. Would highly recommend!

We didn’t try the food as we only came for drinks. But we had a bartender called Dan he was amazing in recommending cocktails!

Visited with friends, it's like eating a meal in a nightclub! You can barely make yourself heard above the overly loud music, which may explain why the orders were not correct. Staff seem to be trying to rush you through to get the table back, rather than making sure that you have a good experience. Overpriced and full of Instagrammers trying to get photos by the toilets, would not return!

A stunning and luxurious place for an evening meal. All staff were accommodating and friendly offering exceptional customer service for my birthday meal. The food was amazing (although the menu a little small) and drinks complimented well.

Kumar was fab. We came for bottomless brunch for a friend’s birthday and never had an empty glass! So attentive and friendly!

We loved going to 20 stories on Sunday, It was a great atmosphere with live music playing. We sat outside on the terrace and despite it being freezing our server Christina went out of her way to make sure we had a table under a heater and provided very friendly service by constantly checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely visit again!

Had an extremely good night, treated my mum to a fancy meal and it was very lovely 🥰 Nancy was our waitress and she was very polite and fun, and her service was excellent. Would definitely come again, a go to place in Manchester.

Many nicer places to go to eat. They just want to rush you through even though the next service hasn’t turned up, and the place is empty, even though still drinking the wine that you have already paid for. Bit weird and poor service tbh. Much nicer places to go in manchester. Shame as the food is ok tbh.

We came here on Friday for Valentine's / Birthday celebrations. We have previously dined here 2 years ago for the same event and had an amazing time. This time around was not too amazing, It actually left a foul taste in my mouth that has resulted in not wishing to come back to 20 stores. We came from out of town just to dine here also which makes the situation even more upsetting. We arrived at the venue. The atmosphere was lovely, the venue was busy, and lots of people were enjoying themselves. We got some drinks from the bar whilst we awaited our table booking, upon the table being ready we were escorted to the table, upon arrival at the table my partner's drink was dropped on the floor and had to be cleaned up, this isn't so much an issue, accidents happen, The part I was unhappy about is we were left standing with everyone looking over at us whilst the staff cleaned up, it would have been nice if we had been escorted back to the entrance. Once we got seated, the replacement drink arrived, it took around 15 minutes for our order to be taken, even then when the waiter arrived he just asked "What can I get for you" No "Hello welcome to 20 stories, what can I get for you" no "How is your evening going" or anything like this, the service felt cold. This wasn't the case on our previous trip, the waiter couldn't do enough for us. Whilst taking our order we were not too sure what dessert we wanted, we went with a set menu and wanted to have our main course and then see what dessert we would be feeling. The waiter told us this wasn't possible and they had to get all the order now. I don't get why this is the case, I've worked in hospitality previously and if we had set menus or deals, guests could wait till the end of the meal to decide on what dessert. We got our order in then then not long after our canapes arrived. 1 plate with 2 tarts with filling and 2 falafel. The Falafel were ok but the tarts tasted awful. No presentation just 4 items on 1 plate. Upon observing around us all the staff seemed extremely stressed and there were times we could see staff getting told off in front of the whole restaurant and staff arguing. We waited for our starters, and they arrived. The presentation was ok, nothing magical or special, my partner ordered scallops, we have had them numerous times before, even here, and we love them, however, these scallops had no texture, they are supposed to have some texture, they tasted fishy, I understand its seafood, seafood isn't supposed to taste fishy, that usually means it's not fresh. We called our waiter over and explained the issue, he spoke to the management team and next, we had 2 floor managers fighting over who would speak to us about our issue. By this point we were so upset, The floor manager was trying to make our evening better for us but said the only thing he could do is give my partner a different starter from the set menu but she wouldn't have been happy with the other starters. The manager expressed that as we are on the set menu all he can do is offer another dish off that set menu, but we declined. He did provide 2 Free drinks. The mains arrived, and they were ok at best, my partner had the sea bass, and I had the Fillet. These dishes were ok at best, we could eat them and didn't have to send them back, the steak had no flavour or seasoning. The waiter came to take our plates away and asked how the food was, we informed him we were really upset, the food didn't taste amazing, asked if there was anything he could do we just asked if we could get our deserts to take away as we just wanted to go, he said ok then headed off, Once he came back he said there's an issue, they are pre-made into a glass so if we want to take them away, we can't. Realising we had spent £190 for food that wasn't fresh, had not a lot of flavour to it. We had booked a hotel, travelled 2 hours by car just to come to this restaurant and we were severely let down. Won't be coming back.

Myself and my partner booked in for the valentines evening here tonight (14/2/25) so it’s 4 courses for £90 per person, set menu. Having been here once before and loving it, we were super excited to be back. However we have left tonight SO disappointed. First issue, table not ready on time, second issue, waitress drops my drink all over floor and we are awkwardly stood in middle of restaurant waiting, they bring replacement drink. Then thirdly, left 15/20 mins with no service. When the waiter does come over the service was little to none, no conversation, could tell they were all stressed and didn’t want to be there. First course of ‘canapes’ gets served, and the most vile tiny pastry thing with something like cold soup inside was presented with a single falafel. Then my starter- scallops- cold, bland, undercooked, fishy. At this point we expressed how upset we were and manager tried to rectify by offering a free drink each. We then get the main, was okay but only average. We are then dishearten and want to leave so ask to take desert home, they can’t do this as all pre prepared. Start to finish, not good, which has upset us mostly because we loved it here before but also, £180 for this is diabolical!!

It is very picturesque and has beautiful views

1st Afternoon Tea And what a good experience ! The place is very class and cosy. All the waiters are kind, helpful. Special mention to Rachid who's a VERY smiling one ! A tray with 3 layers: - one sweet - one with chutney, jam and clotted cream - one savoury Scones are excellent served with cream or jam. The sweet is quite good but some of the pieces were not to our taste, such as the fruit cake. The strong point of the platter is the savoury section, where each element is mastered. For £37, you get a very good, hearty Afternoon Tea in a pleasant setting and by a team who take great care of you.

20 stories is so nice on a Sunday afternoon, the Sunday dinner they do is to die for, cooked perfect , service is always amazing, this time we had Florian, our glasses was never dry, always around just to help and give advice on the menu, we got him to select our dessert but not tell us , he chose upside down cheese cake for us it was amazing , thank you Florian for making our trip special. As always well done to 20 stories from staff downstairs to the chef and all the staff .

Kumar was a great waiter. He was very accommodating, helpful, happy and polite. I couldn’t ask for a better waiter.

I took my mum and my little boy here for a treat around the time of his 1st birthday and it was wonderful! Florian was very accommodating and made us feel special - the views are stunning and the afternoon tea had lots of versatile flavours. All the staff were welcoming, a lovely experience.

Food was generally okay, chips were so salty it was burning my tongue and I couldn’t finish them. We went with a three-course meal for two after getting it for Christmas, so I’m not sure if the food quality is reduced for that reason. However, we were told after only an hour of being there that they wanted the table back by our server, but after checking now, the booking says we should have had the table for an hour and thirty minutes. It overall made the experience feel rushed. Finally, the service charge was put to the sum price of the bill although the voucher meant all that was left to pay was just over £20 but had a £12 service charge on top, which felt uncomfortable to request to be taken off by the waiter even though we left a cash tip which felt more appropriately priced.

We visited 20 Stories this afternoon 03 February for my partner’s birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Our host Nancy, was absolutely brilliant, she asked if our visit today was for a special occasion. We advised it was a birthday. Nancy gave recommendations from the menu, kept checking in with us to ensure everything was satisfactory. The food and service was excellent. At the end of our meal, Nancy brought out a cake with candle and happy birthday written on the plate, excellent touch. I would Highly recommend.

It was great experience, many times heard about 20 stories and finally we visited it. Stunning, great selection of drinks, amazing atmosphere and what a view on whole city!

Service was excellent along with the food. A bit on the expensive side but you're paying for the surroundings, which are spotless and very lush. Got a fabulous window seat overlooking the city. The atmosphere was great, the background DJ was playing my tunes. Only suggestion, put a light up mirror in the ladies toilet please, you can't see to touch up your make up, it's too dark.

Visited on Saturday evening for daughter’s birthday. We were fortunate to have been given a pod to enjoy our evening. Staff are very well trained and customer service was excellent. Complete rip off. Prices are extortionate. Drink price shocking!! Bottle of wine £35+, Pina colada £17, glass full if Ice!! Service is substandard. You are purely paying for the venue. Outside on the terrace is freezing. Waiting over half hour for our food. Still waiting!! Menu hnfit for purpose. Steak £40. Sides extra on top. Food bland. Its a money pit. Save your money go to the IVY instead!!...Overated!!

View is the main attraction of course, we only had drinks but it was very good. Bartender had a lot of knowledge on wines. Of course slight up-charge from regular bars in the area but well deserved, really enjoyed the evening

I visited 20 stories on Saturday early evening with family for drinks prior to the ballet as part of my mums 80th birthday. When we arrived it was very busy. I enquired about getting a table due to my mums age. The staff were extremely helpful. They found us a table for a short while while we had drinks. I cannot thank them enough for this small kindness. It made my mums experience so much better. It's really appreciated xx.

We had a lovely meal here celebrating some special occasions. The service was excellent from everyone. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make it a great day. The atmosphere was excellent, we were lucky that it was a clear sunny day so the views were great. Food was very tasty. We look forward to returning!
