Average. Ok for lunchtime. I had the jackfruit and black bean chillie which had the heat but not the depth of flavour. Not much more I can say about the place. It was ok.

Sunday lunch with family, me the only vegan but all really impressed with the food. Due to covid not really eaten out at all during Covid. But an overnight stay in Manchester changed that. As not eaten meat for over 45 years (and 10 yrs vegan) I don't do 'fake' meat as a rule but here there was a good mixture of choices. Two went for the seitan kebab and one for the burger. I went for the cauliflower 'starter'. So tasty, well cooked and enough for a light lunch. Staff were fantastic, really friendly and efficient. The Sauvignon Blanc was worth the extra. Have to say we did struggle a tad to find Vertigo as GPS playing up - if coming from Oxford Road direction turn left after Wood. Well worth finding.

Visited on a Sunday with a friend and it was quite quiet. The interior is gorgeous and feels really relaxed. There were soo many appealing options on the menu. I went for a vegan tortilla bowl with jackfruit and black bean chilli, tofu scramble, smashed avocado and other bits. It was amazing! My friend had the mushrooms gnocchi and really enjoyed it too. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely return 😊

Food & drink quality, fabulous as it always is. It did however feel like they were struggling to cope, maybe it’s a staff shortage or new staff not up to speed yet? Shame, as the service previously has always been good.

We went in to order a take away, but we’re ignored by the staff member who skipped us and went to the next person in the cue. There was no explanation given. Therefore we left without any food. We were shocked into silence by the behaviour.

Visited today and we had very slow service, bad coffee and tasteless food. Would not recommend at all.

I decided to try Vertigo as I've heard some really good things about it. I also thought it would be a perfect place to take my partner who is lactose intolerant. The menu was well thought out and had many appealing choices. I decided to go for the avocado toast with sun-dried tomatoes. My partner on the other hand opted for the lunch deal of a soup and sandwich for £5.00. The food was really good, full of flavour and tasted really fresh. The only downside was the service as it was really slow even though the establishment at the time was quiet. I would return however, potentially if any vegan friends decide to visit.

Stumbled across this place for breakfast. We both really enjoyed the breakfast bagels and I would highly recommend. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The rest of the menu looked lovely and we hope to visit again soon. I also took some cake home to sample and it was delicious.

Came for my wife's birthday 1st thing I will say as my wife is vegan and I'm not the food was amazing and any meat eater who thinks vegan food is not tasty should try the burger and brownie from here. Food for me was a 5 star The reason I gave this 3 stars was the waiter who served us was one of the worse service I've had at a restaurant. Seem to us he wasn't happy to be working here threw plates down at us took glasses away when finished and never asked do you want another drink and also seemed very rushed in and out in under an hour on 3 course meal. Will put us off returning again even though food was so tasty. Big thank you to the chef though shame front of house lef them down

Great menu, excellent food, first class service. Don’t be put off by the small location and basic decor, this is outstanding value for money and really very very good.

Excellent food that was fresh, tasty and looked gorgeous. Smoothies were great and the staff recommendations were outstanding. The place is based on a quiet street so we could enjoy the sun outside. The design of the restaurant is pretty, service was awesome and everything was appropriately priced. Would definitely come back!

The food was great - super fresh, had a homemade feel/taste to it, and was beautifully presented. Smoothies are also amazing. The chips were praised as the “best chips ever had”, and I loved the chilli and the Mac and ‘cheese’ The ice cream/brownie desert was spot on! Seriously the ice cream was just delicious. Loved what we ate and would definitely like to try the other options.

Food great as always - service not so today! Usually love Vertigo & the member of staff who initially attended to us was friendly and courteous, as has always been our experience at Vertigo. This staff member then went on a break and was replaced by a very angry & aggressive member of staff! Brunch/Lunch completely spoilt for whatever reason we will never know!

I went to Vertigo as a belated birthday surprise once restaurants had opened for outdoor dining. We sat in the heated marquee and had the “2 courses & a drink for £20” brunch menu and it was quite simply amazing vegan food. It was my first time eating at Vertigo and I was really impressed with the service and particularly the food. I had the Cheezeburger & Fries followed by the Crème Brulee all washed down with a glass of prosecco – absolutely delicious! My (otherwise meat-eating!) other half had the Full Breakfast followed by the Lotus Pancake Stack and also really enjoyed the food. We can’t wait to go back for the Sunday lunch menu… keep up the good work – it’s brilliant having a quality vegan offering with so much choice.

Manchester weather could not dampen our yummyliscious plant based dinner at the marquee at Vertigo. ( out door heaters) The staff were super accommodating and a little quirky with it. A deelish 3 course meal with an uncomplicated non overbearing menu to choose from...I struggle with too many options though will be coming back to try the rest of the menu...my burger tasted like meat but better (a lot of places don’t) I actually like the taste of meat but like the animals more so this helped satisfy this . Excellent Seitan for the Kebab though I would’ve like a bit more of a fruity sauce with this. Just saying .They also put a candle in my friends desert and the restaurant sang Happy Birthday. An all round lovely experience. I’ll be back!!!! Xxxx

Food and atmosphere excellent- would recommend. We opted for the a la carte rather than tasting menu, all three dishes and sides were excellent - highlight for me was the steak tartare. We seem to run in to problems not with service per se, there was some issue with food ticket system which meant a delay between starter and main which was considerable, staff were apologetic and a free round of drinks was offered which mitigated the problem. We did wait 30 mins to be seated at our table and had a drink in the bar area whilst we waited, this might not be an issue for some folk but personally I prefer to be seated at my booking time. A few small issues which didn’t detract from the overall experience, and still rated the food and overall experience highly!

Just had lunch here, was a really nice place. The staff were very kind and helpful, the food came quickly and was very nice too. I was a bit gutted as my friend got a mixed grill which trumped my chicken and avocado. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

The owner is a very nice person and so is the staff. I had English breakfast. The best halal hash browns and sausages I have ever had. Turkish tea with delight was very delightful. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Wow, what an amazing experience. The Sunday roast was out of this world. It was a sunny day, so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sun while we ate. Well worth the money! Thanks, guys.

We come here every time we are in Manchester, every day (though last time we travelled on a Monday and discovered Platzki is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; that seems to be a new development under new management). I’ve been seeing negative reviews but can’t understand what that’s about. The food is as excellent as ever, with spectacular new dishes (the duck cutlets and the pumpkin gnocchi are to die for). The raspberry vodka is also delicious. The team checked on us often and were friendly. While the team has changed under new management, the lovely lady at the bar still knows how to make the special tea with rum and orange that used to be on the menu but isn’t anymore. The tea is incredible and it’d be a shame if that team member left and no one knew how to make it anymore, so please put it back on the menu, guys! One thing that would make Platzki even better is if they you to offer rye bread with lard/butter for a starter/snack like you used to under old management. But overall Platzki is fantastic, wishing the team the absolute best for the future and hope you guys continue thriving. We will be back in a few weeks when we’re in Manchester again.
