Fantastic little local cafe’, great food and friendly staff. Was nice to be made to feel so welcome and we enjoyed our time here. Coming back multiple times over our weeks stay. Even taking bread and cakes home with us to Derbyshire. Kids loved the football table! We will be back again in the future.

Delicious baked goods. Chelsea buns are my favourite but the kids love the cakes and iced buns. We get our rolls and bread from Newells every time we visit Porthmadog, wish we had a bakery like it at home!

Please do not advertise you accommodate gluten free without knowing what you are serving, even more frustrating when the customer politely asks if it’s safe for them to eat. I requested a gluten free salad, it was served with cous cous which I questioned, for the waitress to explain that’s something they were confused about however still continued to put it in front of me for me to eat! From then on no member of staff came to check on us further as I think they knew they were at fault. Appalling service I was left to eat something when I’d questioned it with no reassurance, also questionable if the pickled beetroot was gluten free (barley). Being coeliac isn’t a life choice it’s an autoimmune condition, do a little bit of research

Coffee was thrown in from the door...ordered a latte which was a huge glass but sadly could not taste a hint of coffee....my sister had a cappuccino and the same thing....diabolical...I could not drink mine...it was just warm milk really

May I first say that I have only ever written good reviews but I afraid to say that this pub is SO terrible that only a bad review will do. I'm guessing it is for locals only, so if you are a holidaymaker visiting the delightful Porthmadog, please go to ANY of the other welcoming pubs in the area, avoid this one like the plague! We walked in and not only were we made to feel unwelcome by the four men in there (no bar staff in sight) but actually felt quite scared and threatened, and this was in the afternoon, dread to think what it is like at closing time. We felt too uncomfortable to stay, but a quick glance before we hurried out seemed to show lager, certainly no ales, were only available. We scuttled off to the calm, civilised and welcoming Sportsman Hotel, phew! What a relief!

Went in for coffee , intending to sit outside, my dog was waiting outside, someone opened the door so my dog came in , lady behind the counter was so rude , the dog was in there for one minute, no big deal , yes I know only guide dogs but her response was well out of proportion, there’s a way of saying things in a polite manner , maybe staff need customer service training, I read other reviews, seems to be a pattern of rude behaviour, is it the same person I suspect so , maybe manager should address this ? Anyway doubt I will go again , also her comprehension of English wasn’t very good , I had to repeat my order several times

I was waiting for a train and I saw this coffee shop a short distance away from the station in Porthmadog. It was virtualy empty appart from one other customer. I ordered a cappachino and waited for it to be made before sitting near thge window with a view of the Tesco store and carpark. The coffe wasa average although cheaper than most other cafes but it was too hot, almost boiling. As I had to wait longer than expected I only just caught my train!
