My daughter is a Coeliac so it can often be difficult to get an ice cream without worrying about cross contamination etc. The lady behind the counter was so helpful and enthusiastic about it not being an issue, it was probably the only time I’ve ever bought an ice cream 100% confident. She got a fresh spoon, opened a fresh tub of ice cream, opened a fresh pack of spoons, and genuinely seemed to understand the issue and was more than happy to take a minute or two to accommodate my little girl. On top of that the ice creams were all delicious, both the GF and not. Great place. Great staff. Great ice cream.

We went a couple of times during our holiday, once for lunch and once for brunch. The service was friendly, the food top notch and although we didn't get ice cream separately, we had it on various brunch dishes and it was worth the visit alone. Particular mention should go to the vegan options, the bean burrito was very well received by my daughter

As it was a super sunny day yesterday (Tuesday), Hubby suggested I had an icecream from here as it is conveniently situated on the main high street. The gent who served me was efficient and polite. There were plenty of flavours to choose from but in the end I settled for a strawberries & cream standard cone which cost £3. They only accept cashless payments here but I prefer paying by bank card anyway. We sat outside whilst I quickly consumed my treat before it melted. I shall be making a return visit as it tasted soh N-ICE!

If you want a nice dessert or ice cream this place is great however if you are looking for somewhere that provides a consistent service as advertised this is not the place. On three separate trips we have made the walk from black rock sands to porth madog with the promise of a waffle at the end for the kids to arrive with a sign stating due to staffing no food being served. On one occasion I can accept this is the case however on three occasions this shouts to me more that they want to be open but on reduced service and not advertise this. This type of thing could easily be advertised on Facebook page saving my kids a 4 mile walk for nothing!

Another cashless business. Such a shame. 5 of us looking to finish the day off with an ice cream and a coffee, welcomed with a big poster on the wall showing the contactless symbol. So, it may be brilliant, but we never got chance to experience it due to their policies limiting freedom of choice. Imagine walking into an ice cream store to a few flavours, but only being allowed to choose vanilla….

Sadly, I can't comment on the food or drinks at this shop because we were completely ignored! After a long and difficult day we thought we might cheer ourselves up with a nice coffee for the adults and ice-cream for the boy, and saw Cadwaladers and thought that would be perfect. There were no tables for more than two people free in front, but we weren't sure if there were more in back, so waited while the young man at the counter was serving another customer. He glanced our way a couple of times and we waited, as he knew we were there. He finished with the other customer, looked at me, making eye contact and I went to speak and he turned his back on us to have a chat with his colleague. We waited some more. In the end, at least three times he made eye contact with me, and each time I started to speak and he turned and walked away from me to do something else. We left at that point. We had wanted to support a small, local place, but ended up a few doors down at a well-known chain coffee shop, where we were greeted with a big smile from the very friendly server. Pick up your service, Cadwaladers! Very disappointing.

One member of staff (an older lady who seemed to be the one preparing food) was very unhelpful and spoilt our visit. We had paid for 2 extra salads and when they didn’t arrive with the rest of our food we had to ask where they were. The employee in question said she’d go and make them. 10 minutes later we saw her again carrying balloons for a display in the cafe! We asked her again about the salads. She looked puzzled at us, didn’t apologise, and just said she’d make them. When she returned another 5-10 minutes later she brought out one plate of salad - which we queried and she replied that as she didn’t have smaller plates she had put both salads on one plate for us to share????!!!! Her attitude was of a person who didn’t care and didn’t want to be there. We couldn’t recommend and certainly wouldn’t return. There are much better places with friendlier staff that actually appreciate your custom.

We normally always go the Criccieth branch and the staff there are always fast and friendly and we have never had any issues, so we decided to visit the Porthmadog branch, sadly we were not impressed at all, we ordered an item we always get at the Criccieth branch so we know what it looks like and the same item we got here had 3 pancakes with a banana chopped and thrown on top and pancakes soaked with too much syrup, they missed out the ice cream, whipped cream and wafers! 2 staff members where taking up a huge seat on laptops and customers in groups where being turned away as no room, there was no receipts like we normally get at the Criccieth branch, a staff member sanitised the table and chairs and left them wet and asked us to sit down and when we said they are wet could you dry them he replied you asked to sit here so I had to sanitise it and it takes time to dry, so why ask us to move if it needed time to dry? and then still did not dry it! The wait was longer than we have ever waiting before and other members of the group had finished before others received their items, and we noticed customers who came after us got their items before us, also an ice coffee item tasted completely different to the same item at the Criccieth branch, so in future we will stick with the Criccieth branch while hopefully the staff at the Porthmadog branch can get some training to give the same level of service as the Criccieth branch always gives, to be honest it felt like they did not want customers and they where an inconvenience to the staff.

After a couple of years due to lockdown, it was great to be able to visit the ice-cream parlour for an ice cream and even better to find that the quality has not changed. There are a wide range of flavours - recommend Malteeser, Bueno and Salted caramel - and portion size and prices are good. The friendliness of the staff, particularly Anthony, the assistant manager, made the parlour feel warm and welcoming. The standard of cleanliness was good and the implementation of covid safe procedures was great to see.

Great ice cream and drinks. Nice place to sit with the family and just take five minutes. The snacks look nice and if they added to their Pizza menu they would attract even more business. Here is its only down fall. The building is badly laid out so it’s difficult to get in and out especially when there is a queue for ice cream. They should look at a bigger better laid out building and then they could really make it work.

It says on the website to ask your server about the vegan options so we did. The problem is the cafe is very busy and it’s evident that the servers are a bit annoyed in being held up by vegan enquiries. The first server was a lady who was nice but we felt like we were holding her up by asking questions. So we rushed our decisions on the food because of that. The second server was at the ice cream section and he seemed uncomfortable with our enquiries and spoke in Welsh to a colleague in the middle of serving us, a colleague who was more helpful than him actually! Then he had to go and ask about some of things we asked and again we felt like we were annoying the whole cafe. If the servers already had the information it might be a smoother process. Appreciate dairy free and vegan stuff is new, but clearly the company want our money so, might be worth training the staff up a bit better. In regards to the food we enjoyed it. I had vegan cheese beans and spread on a jacket potato. My partner had a mushroom and vegan cheese panini. We also had vanilla vegan ice cream on a vegan cone. The ice cream lacked in flavour a bit and was lumpy but, we enjoyed it anyway! A good first start from the company but staff need more training, vegan options need to be clearer and it needs to be ok to make enquiries.

Stopped off for a coffee whilst in the town, I had my little dog and noticed a big poster welcoming well behaved dogs. Staff were very friendly and asked if she wanted a bowl of water. Lovely coffee too. Will return.

Was very excited to go into a rather enticing ice cream cafe but 5 minutes in to our visit we realised it weren’t going to go well. We sat in the snug and the table arrangement was very unorganised and cluttered. One of our tables was not cleared throughout the whole visit causing us to clear it ourselves. The coffee frappe was quite frankly undrinkable so steer clear if you love your frappes. They forgot the side of ice cream that comes with cake and the cake was also very dry (I had the millionaire cake). A gentleman sat close to us also made a point to us that his pot of tea didn’t even have tea in it and was just pure hot water, he abruptly left looking unhappy as he realised. The staff also look very unhappy and unwelcoming. On a plus side the place looked lovely and the hot chocolate and the caramel slices are very nice.

We love ice cream shops- when I saw one in Porthmadog we hoped to see something similar like we usually visit in Italy. Nicely decorated, lovely atmosphere...but that's it. Ice cream in menu looks lovely- ordered Eton Mess and I was very disappointed. Fruits was hard frozen and strawberry sauce was not freshly prepered ( had a taste like cheap artificial supermarket's sauces). We came in and was waiting 10 min near the till to make an order, there was 3 ladies there and non of them even said hello. ( were we invisible?? Haha). It was New Year's Day at around 2.30pm so no many people there. Last thing what really put me off- there was 3 tables next to ours and for all the time us beeing in there, no one cleaned them. We were there minimum 40 min. New clients was coming in and they could sit and order something- but because no one cleaned the tables (3!) they just walked away. Shame, we would happily come back many times. Hope Calwaladers will soon be like many Italian's ice cream shops, where people queue even an hour for the best ice cream! You have a potential! Good luck!

Having heard such good reviews for this Ice Cream I was quite disappointed, had much better Ice Cream. Was quite expensive for quite small portions.

Really delicious. The ice cream is beautiful and the addition of a crunchie to a waffle is a great idea. Service great. Although, it would be easier to eat if a knife and fork were given alongside a spoon.

This place is okay. Serves its function if using as a coffee shop but nothing to write home about. Seems better as an ice cream parlour. If you want coffee and amazing cake then head up the road to Siop Coffi T.H

Had been to parlour in Criccieth and been amazed so this time decided to push the boat out and try a sundae. Only one member of staff taking orders and serving the customers inside and the passing trade of serving cones. Was disappointed with my sundae as it had frozen fruit and was served flowing down the outside of the glass. No saucer to catch the mess. Lovely ice cream so would advise cones are the way to go. Sundaes expensive and not worth the extra cost.
