What a little gem this place is. So clean and the staff are lovely and make you feel so welcome. We will be back loads when we are visiting throughout the year.

Staff amazing, food AMAZING, can't credit the place enough, went for a short break and ended up eating there Saturday and Sunday. Staff were SOOOOO friendly and the food was all home made (seemed like it anyway) will definitely be back.

Great food love coming here summer or winter.

Firstly, Matt our waiter was fantastic! He was very friendly and organised. However, a couple of our meals came out late which was disappointing as the rest of the group had finished eating. Matt was very apologetic. Overall, the visit was good. The restaurant is very clean & has a good outdoor play area for the kids. Sunday lunch is good. Would recommend but maybe not in large groups

Love this place. Dog friendly outside and if its a little breezy, dogs are allowed in the conservatory area. Each time we have visited for lunch and are always pleasantly satisfied with our experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming making it a very nice atmosphere. Lovely food. Nice selection at the bar too. Everyone visiting or living nearby needs to visit and support this business because they deserve to be successful

Very expensive for what it is. Almost £20 for Curry of the day and a spoonful of rice and a nan bread in a bowl. Service from the staff was delightful until we had place mats for our pints slammed on the table with a look of disgrace! Made us feel very uncomfortable so we finished up, paid and left. Staff stood at the service desk failed to say goodbye. This review would of got at-least 4 stars

Very disappointed came here end of August. Parked in car park and was abused by staff of Beach Club that we were going to the beach were in fact we were going in for a meal with family from abroad. We then had an hour wait for food we which was over priced and in some case inedible.

Went here on a Saturday night without a reservation but the friendly staff managed to accommodate us (when we go again we will book first) Food was amazing and very reasonably priced also the atmosphere was welcoming, would definitely recommend

Disappointing visit. Only offering pizza. In darkness and cold. Obviously wanting to shut early. Very poor considering drink prices.

Arrived at 2pm today and received a warm welcome but informed that the kitchen was understaffed and that we couldn't have a cooked meal. Although we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience we tried to be very understanding and agreed to just have a drink. We ordered 2 hot chocolates and 2 muffins, which would have been great if we didn't actually like hot chocolate. The drinks were barely tepid and tasted of slightly sour milk (no chocolate flavour was present although the milk was a pale brown colour and I couldn't drink it) and one of the drinks had 50% less than the other and was mainly foam. The muffins were dry and crumbly. This cost my husband about £12!!!! I'm sure that this is a far cry from the quality they usually offer but we won't be in a rush to return.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here on Monday for my Husband’s birthday. The food was amazing and the staff were great, especially the young waitress that looked after us and our 2 dogs. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be back soon!

Music was a bit loud in the restaurant but we sat in the conservatory as we had our dogs with us. The person who served us was lovely and attentive. We only stayed for a coffee as we had already had food elsewhere.

Staying nearby and popped for a drink at lunchtime. Ended up staying for lunch. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. The bar itself is airy, well decorated, spacious and spotlessly clean. We ordered starters nd mains, all the food was delicious and came in very generous portion sizes-none of us could finish our meals. Will definitely visit again when we're in the area.

Fantastic new Beach Bar and Pub - owners are lovely and staff are great - from a pint and game of Backgammon on Tuesday to an evening meal on Saturday night we have only positive feedback - highly recommended and great new addition to the Morfa Bychan area - and visiting today Diane makes the BEST diet coke with a splash of Lime! We were here again this weekend - and it was time for some games - Pool and Pass the Pigs - we had a great time!

We went to Black Rock Beach with the family for a meal. The food was excellent quality, the service was brilliant. The kids wanted a flake in their ice cream so Mared arranged for chocolate straws which they were over the moon about. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely return again if I'm in the area.

Wanted to watch a certain game of football on sky. Emailed the manager who could not fo enough for us. The place was packed. Great hospitality Great food Great atmosphere Staff were superb, even when the mighty pompey scored. If you are in the area check this Great place out. Bravo everyone keep up the superb work 👏

Eaten there twice and drank a few times more over last year and this. Food has always been amazing. Service unfortunately needs attention, has potential to be amaze balls!

Good location, pleasant atmosphere and nicely furnished

Went here while on holiday a few times recently with our two bernese mountain dogs who were given water as soon as we entered and made welcome. We ate there once, it was a pity as the chef had left and they only had pizzas, but they were okay, would definitely go again

I love that the place has been done up, the owners have done an amazing job and the family and dog friendly atmosphere is brilliant. But the food lately hasn't been great, lots of shortages on food including the gluten free options . When we attended my booking wasn't there which was strange as I booked it a few weeks prior face to face but we were accommodated. Little gluten free options on the evening menu apart from pizza which hasn't been great last few times its been tried so ended up with just chips. Options out which i totally get and there are often shortages of food. Ordered kids pizza for my 3 year old and it came out almost 15minutes after the rest of the mains came out, told 1 more minute when food first came out and we had to chase and it was still a while after chasing (for a 3 year old 15 mins is a long time so she ate her brothers beans) when the pizza came out it was badly burnt underneath and not edible. This was taken off the bill and only 1 chap was apologetic (thank you to him - wish he was around earlier) We will come back to drink there often but sadly I don't think we will be sampling the food again, really disappointed.

Amazing food, lovely staff. A bit pricey but worth every penny. A special thanks to Kieran who dropped us off at our camp site. It was such a kind gesture and it meant so much to us. We'll definitely be back.

We came across this place while on our beach walk in the rain but at that time was closed. We were staying in greenacres and couldn't get a reservation for dinner and the staff recommended black rock beach club. Food was lovely. Menu needs more description for example if the food comes with chips or not. Little bit pricey but it's what you would expect in that area. Clean and tidy. Staff attentive.

We often go here after a walk on the beach with the dogs. The outside area is great, even better when the cushions are out(weather dependant I guess) There is usually water bowls for the dogs dotted about and even a treat for them on odd occasions. We always have a great pint, food and service are always good too. Perfect spot for us

Beautiful place with a solid menu. There is a massive wooden ark in the front for the kids to play on. Frsh pizzas are great

Stopped in twice last week while on holiday. Staff were polite and helpful, had the lamb burger then returned for a Sunday lunch. Burgers were excellent but had better Sunday lunches. Wouldn't stop us returning though.

Amazing experience! Staff were amazing! They accommodated a large group of us with many dogs last minute and catered to us celebrating by surprising us with decorations! So grateful. Will definitely be back!

Great impromptu Fathers Day lunch. Arrived 12pm because we hadn't booked and easily got a nice table outside under the awning. The little ones loved playing on the pirate ship and we enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch before a play on the beach 👌🏻

Absolute favourite place to be when down our caravan. The food is amazing, great selection of drinks but to top it off the staff are absolutely amazing. Just want to point out Kieran (I hope that’s right) he is absolutely brilliant. Goes out of his way and ensures everything is perfect and everybody is happy.

Sat outside, this is the second time in a couple of weeks we've been. Just wondered why you don't clean outside. Even just giving it a brush . Also the tables are grubby and wobbly. Not a clean environment to eat food. Inside is totally different. But outside has changed a lot since you opened. Neglected.

Wonderful place to eat on a hot summer evening. Food quality is great, service great, really feels like a special place. Have booked again for tomorrow, Thursday. Looking forward to it.

Really really slow service, the staff didn't seem to know what was happening and were also drinking on the job. We sat outside, went to order our food only to be told they were only serving pizza outside not the full menu, we continued with our order an hour went by with no sign of our food so we went to ask how long it would be their response was we have a backlog of pizza orders and to expect a delay!? Questionable considering they had restricted food to pizza only. We ordered 4 pizzas and they all came within 20 minutes of each other meaning we didn't eat together. Very overpriced for the service and quality of food.

Fantastic place to go and I absolutely can't recommend this place enough. Kieron is unbelievably courteous kind and helpful, he and all staff are a credit to the place. Fantastic service food and atmosphere 👌

A real continental feel, relaxed environment, child (great play area) and dog friendly too, lots of parking, a must visit if you're visiting Porthmadog 👍

The food , when you eventually get the correct order is quite nice although overpriced as are the drinks. The service is chaos.

Went for our last meal of our holiday here today and we were so glad we booked ahead of time with it being very busy (great sign) the beach club is very aesthetically pleasing , kieran the host on the door was very welcoming and couldn't do anymore to help us with our requests it was so busy and he was brilliant at his job! Also wanted to mention how helpful Adam was too! Great service and very tasty food! We all had roasts and they were delicious 😋,

We ate here on our way to black rock beach. It was dog friendly and had a big play area for the kids. We ate outside as the weather was sunny. We all enjoyed our food including my granddaughter, her kids meal was chicken nuggets which were proper chunks of chicken, homemade. The chips were an unusual shape but it made them crispy and extra tasty at the same time. Was told the pizza was the best they'd had in a long time, I had a Caesar salad homemade croutons was lovely just hit the spot on a hot day.

Waited an hour for food. Wasn't all that busy. Quite pricey too

We booked a table of 12 on Friday evening, upon our first order of drinks arriving, a waiter dropped two ballon glasses of G&T all over my husbands back, coat and our friends handbag. The waiter did not apologise or even make any gestures to show any remorse. We even had to ask for tissues five minutes later to try and clean ourselves. Straight after this, the landlord came over and shouted at us, apparently some of us had been swearing (in conversation, not at staff) and very aggressively told us we had been warned and if we continued to swear he would kick us out. Attitude of the landlord was appalling. None of us were aggressive or rude to any of the staff. The landlord could have handled the situation much better. All he had to say was keep the noise down and watch your language. Instead he flew off the handle and threatened us. So within five minutes of being in the restaurant we’d had drinks spilt all down us, no apology or attempt to clean us up and threatened to kick us out. Upon telling the landlord what had happened , his attitude was well accidents happen and I’m sure he has apologised, no, no he had not apologised. With that he said well I will apologise for him, with an attitude and insincere. The starters were lovely. The main meal was disappointing. I had Fish Chips and Mushy peas. The peas came in a dipping sauce dish, tiny. Pic attached. As the staff then cleared the table, another member of staff dropped a cheesy sauce dish all down the back of one our friends. She quickly apologised and immediately ran to get tissues. No problem! She apologised and cleaned her up promptly. Needless to say we won’t be back again which is a shame as last year when we came it was fantastic. Our bill was in excess of £500 No discount for spilling drinks and food over us, therefore no tips left.

A lovely find at the end of a nice outing. Ordered the Pork Schnitzel but unfortunately due to a busy lunch time they were fresh out. Decided on a beef burger and honestly I'm kind of glad the Schnitzel shortage forced my hand. The burger was juicy and well presented with a fantastic taste. Side salad was beautifully arranged with star fruit and dragon fruit and the chips were an absolute pleasure to eat. My wife is gluten free due to allergies, and they offered a full selection of gluten-free options both in terms of bread ( she had the camembert starter) and even delicious gluten-free pizza. The staff were also lovely and extremely helpful to us weary hikers with guidance on the local area and even ordering us a taxi. I'll be back here soon no doubt, and next time I'm looking forward to trying more of what this place has to offer, and I recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Very impressed how the premises have been re imagined. Bright and fresh inside and out. Excellent service, beverages and food. Decent and varied menu including children's selection. Range of lagers and ales, cocktails etc. Includes outdoor bar next to children's wooden play area with plenty of seating Happy to recommend and return.

Been coming to porthmadog for 40 years always used this pub it's a gold mine been recently needs more people behind the bar serving drinks waiting fir 25-30 minutes to be served puts me off had food it's ok personally I think its over priced and drinks are as well but I shall go again next time I come £3.50 for chips not bad but you hardly get any what you get is nice but to much for amount you get

Took us a while to eat here as they only open a few days per week. Limited menu today, great service with smiles. Acceptable wait for food. Bread and butter pudding (usually my favourite) let the food down badly, little taste and no fruit or flavouring, quite sickly, really. Great decor and pleasant atmosphere, but we were really disappointed with the final bill. We paid, and only the total was given as a receipt. A full receipt was requested, and 2 extra drinks were added on the bottom, an additional cost of £15. Maybe an error, but who knows!!!

Food was good today but service was slow as they had some staff who didn't come in and the restaurant was nearly full. Staff were exceptionally busy at lunchtime, but did very well in the circumstances. Dog friendly conservatory was full. We didn't book, but got a table for 6 just before the rush. Nice modern decor and kept in very good condition. We've been before and it's always a pleasure🙂

Fantastic new place in Morfa. Friendly staff, wide selection of beers and a really great atmosphere. I've eaten in here several times and never had a bad meal. Good for morning coffee, lunchtime beer and evening meal. I highly recommend this if you down for a day on the beach.

Beautiful and comfortable restaurant with great food and drinks This place is elegant with an awesome vibe. The food at Black Rock is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can choose from many menu options. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.

Nice place, but manic getting served

After checking opening times, we decided to have lunch here as the halfway point of a walk. When we got there it was closed, obviously nobody had considered updating the opening times!

Great food, great drinks, great staff, great atmosphere and the dog loved it as well.

Good beer, good food, very poor service. 1hr 38mins from placing a food order to getting served. When the food finally arrived, one meal had to be sent back as the chicken was too dry to eat. The other three meals were good though. Waitresses were working like trojans and doing their best.

Food is good and service is quick. The young girl who works waiting tables Saturdays is an asset to this business. So polite and on the ball.

Great looking restaurant however. Staff overrun...Nearly 2 hours waiting for food .!! For the prices they need to get hold of it quickly before you run it to the ground along with your staff ...very poor experience and would not reccomend until the issues are resolved .

We are a local guest house and have been promoting Black Rock Beach Club all season as we thoroughly enjoyed our visit earlier this year . Unfortunately we came tonight for a celebration with family, only 4 of us. 2 hours after the order was taken food was served. 1 meal Unfortunately unedible, 3 were fine. There is an obvious lack in management and staff. The waiting staff were working so hard but they had no chance. Lovely location but so disappointing.

Do not make plans for a night out here. Advertised to open till 11 but closes at 9 when not busy (Sept 8th) Other than that food is alright but quite pricey for somewhere that does not cover quiet periods

This pub has been refurbished to a high standard. The food is well listed and prepared. Unfortunately they are suffering with staffing issue's that can and lead to long waits at the bar and and food service issues. Failing that its a great place for a Meal or a drink and the kids can play on the climbing boat structure.

Food was OK. The level of service was awful..... when I asked about the children's deserts I had a member of staff tell me very abruptly that they were short staffed running this joint. NOT MY PROBLEM PAL......

Great place, a million miles better than the old Tavern!! Still ironing out some teething troubles but a great new venue. Will be better when they can track down some more decent bar staff. Also if they read these reviews then my advise is to get another 2 tills at the bar as at the moment having 2 or 3 bar staff but only 1 till with the other staff waiting is literally the most inefficient way to work ever. You need to lose those ques at the bar sharpish and it's not just down to staff shortages.
