I was waiting for a train and I saw this coffee shop a short distance away from the station in Porthmadog. It was virtualy empty appart from one other customer. I ordered a cappachino and waited for it to be made before sitting near thge window with a view of the Tesco store and carpark. The coffe wasa average although cheaper than most other cafes but it was too hot, almost boiling. As I had to wait longer than expected I only just caught my train!

On holiday in North Wales, the woman at the counter basically sent us away saying they don’t have any sausages for breakfast even though several tables were eating sausage, stared us out the door. Ridiculous , wouldn’t recommend if you’re not local or Welsh speaking.

Fabulous gem of restaurant, cafe upstairs at the gorgeous Portmeirion department store in Porthmadog. Just a pot of tea this afternoon in their stylish Sophie Conran crockery. And Mum has slice of today's home baked Victoria Sponge cake home with her. Kelsie is always delightful and we looks forward to seeing her. Chef produces one of my absolute favourite Ceasar Salads and all the food is blasus iawn!! (VERY TASTY)

I am a local who has visited here several times, but felt very strongly that the attitude of the staff today was nothing short of rude, on arrival we were told "no sunday lunch today", this was before the usual pleasantries of good afternoon etc, we were shown to a table. The menu is very limited , no sandwiches or the usual fare, i realise that this is Portmeirion and they may feel that they want to be different ,but perhaps be different in a positive way, staff training top priority, management may benifit of a walk up to The Port cafe at the top of the High street and wonder why they are so busy and their staff so polite and grateful for your custom. Very disappointing visit.

I'd like to be able to review the food here but having sat waiting to be served by young girls who were determined to ignore us whilst they chatted with customers they obviously knew, and who had walked in after us. We eventually walked out. Why not have a sign on the door saying English people not welcome? It would have saved us time. Racism seems to be alive and well in Porthmadog.

We really enjoyed our lunch here! A highlight of our day visit to Porthmadog. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious and my partner who is vegan asked if this was a vegan dish. The friendly server went to find out and came back quickly saying the chef was able to make it vegan for him. He said it was the best gnocchi he had ever eaten! The vegetarian mezze I had was delicious as well, plenty of food and the halloumi was perfectly cooked, so many places over cook it but not here! I also had an almond milk latte that was delicious, something else that is often difficult to get right because of the almond milk but it was creamy and very enjoyable. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We would definitely recommend this lovely cafe.

Visited here for the first time after living here for 2 years! Why we never visited before I do not know. It’s basically a hidden gem within a superb shop. Like shops should be! The food we had was stunning! The vegetarian mezze and Greek salad my wife had was fresh as you could get and portions a fab size. Our kids had chicken goujons and they said they were the best they had ever had. The chicken was proper chicken not your McDonald’s rubbish. Covered in a light panko crumb you could tell they were fresh and not frozen. Hot chocolates were some of the nicest I’ve ever had. The place was also immaculately clean. See you next week after Christmas shopping 😊

We had lunch at the Caffi Portmeirion whilst on holiday nearby. The café was hidden above the Portmeirion shop on the ground floor and was a bright, clean, modern styled café which reminded of of some of the Swedish cafés we have visited before. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and although it took a some time to arrive, it was cooked and prepared fresh and was one of the best Caesar Salads I have ever had. This café is a hidden gem and an oasis of peace and quiet amongst all the very busy, noisy cafés used by the visiting tourists.

Visited mid afternoon for a snack lunch comprising 2 bowls of soup, 2 pieces of barra brith and 2 soft drinks. Cafe was fairly quiet and ste out upstairs abover the Pormerion Shop. Lift was our of order so required a steep climb up a set of spral stairs, not quite wide enough for good social distancing but less of an issue as the cafe was quiet. Soup & drinks arrived ok, brought to our table by another server from the kitchen. After a while, once the soup had been consumed, we waited and waited for our Barra Brith to be served. Eventually, my wife attracted the attention of our server, who came over to our table. When we asked about the Barra Brith, the server had clearly not added the items to our order. Even worse, she then asked, how many pieces do you want? Totally hopeless. The final insult was the bill - £24 for 2 bowls of soup, a 275ml Coke Zero, a bottle of still mineral water and two rather small pieces of Barra Brith. You couldn't make it up. Only go there if you want to be fleeced 😞

We tried to get something to eat here about an hour before they closed. Unfortunately they only had one slice of lemon meringue and two slices of some other cake at that time. The positives were that the lemon meringue looked amazing and clearly lots of others thought so too as otherwise there'd have been more left. The disappointment was that with an hour to go there wasn't really anything left to buy. So, recommended by default but go earlier in the day if you don't want to be disappointed. We were disappointed, hence 3/5.

It is about 9 months ago since Hubby and I last visited this Cafe which is situated right across the road from Tesco. On a recent rainy Sunday afternoon we decided to give it another try. We both had a bacon & salad filled white bap and a pot of tea which cost £10.90 (card payments accepted). Service was quite quick. The bacon was a bit rubbery and the baps were on the dry side (even though they were buttered). However, Hubby was so hungry he soon ate it all. I managed to eat all of mine after adding a good dollop of spicy chutney.

I got there around 1300, looked around for a menu to find non, I ask one of the staff a young girl, who looked really unhappy, if there was a menu, she replied no, there was a silence, so I asked what is there to eat, she replied rolls, cheese, ham or bacon, I asked if I could have a bacon roll on brown bread, and was told only white rolls. I waited some time for the roll and in the mean time, watched another lady staff member, quite a bit older than the girl, who looked very stern, some out from the kitchen with a plate full of lovely salad, different meats and I think cheese, she then leisurely, strolled round choosing a jar of pickle, from a shelf, she then took a huge dollop of it and plopped it on her plate and tucked in to her feast.

We've had the bread basket for breakfast here many times, and it's good, particularly when you can help yourself to a wide range of jams from the counter. The coffee too is excellent. That said, I have to agree that the staff don't seem overly friendly or eager to serve, and there is no menu - just maybe a "filling of the day" for the rolls. There are always cakes in the cabinet - maybe they just don't "do" savoury food. As well as tourists, there seem to be Welsh speaking regulars too, so the place must have some appeal. However, I can't imagine that Portmeirion Village would be at all happy with the standard of this cafe. I don't know whether they are connected, but if not, then that raises a further question about the name. Could (and should) be so much better.

Wow - what age are they in?As for the décor; plastic settees with rips and carpet tape holding them together!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE NAME PORTMEIRION has anything to do with this place. Robin Llywelyn? Seriously rwan?We ordered 1 beef on brown and 1 cheese on brown (which came on white by the way). 1 tea and 1 Americano..............................£!1.80!!!!!!!!!!! Nearly died. The Wenallt Delly in Llanbedr would have done that (with larger fillings for around £7.00) Daylight Robbery - Do we pay the price for rubbishy food just for the Portmeirion name?Coffee was excellent tho and the staff were Welsh speakers - which in Wales is what I want.No return sorry - BYTH ETO

There is times of the day where there's no alternative for having a coffee in town. We went here twice during our visit of Caernarfon. I did not take a coffee at the second visit as I didn't like it. We made the mistake of going back to this pub having visited several times over the years, it was completely dead and the bar lady had a serious attitude problem, when two other guests arrived the bar woman was now siting in the corner and i pointed her out simple saying the bar woman was over there - she completely turned on me obviously annoyed i’d called her a bar woman ( she clearly wasn’t a solicitor) which also resulted in her partner becoming extremely aggressive and was expecting a physical assault to be taking place, luckily i managed to de escalate the situation which if full of locals would’ve only been worse. The woman clearly has mental health problems and probably a drug user and shouldn’t be working in an environment selling alcohol.

Adults only. A few of the local guys told me it's a swingers hotel where the dogs can get involved. Avoid. If you do want a good pint with holiday makers and locals all enjoying good food and drink and friendly conversation I would highly recommend walking an extra 200yds to the pub right next to the train station. Dogs, kids, humans all seem to be equally welcome
