I am a little surprised at the poor reviews because my wife and I loved the food. After a long walk on a chilly day we ordered the pie and mash and the burger, both were excellent. Really hit the spot. We found the service to be quick and friendly. It is clean and there are plenty of tables. Very pleased we had lunch here !

The service received here was outstanding. Angharad was watching her customers and each time they needed help, she was there: for example: to help my wife with the coffee machine, to give us more mayo when the bottle had run out and to make sure and serve people who had waited longest: 5 stars to her. The coffee was from a machine so it wasn’t the best and the chips were £4 a portion and over cooked and already salty when they arrived so 2 stars for food. Overall 3 stars: saved by Angharad!!

Friendly welcome and food reasonably priced, but the pizza was very "well done" on the edges (i.e. partly burnt) hence very hard to eat. Thought about having a sandwich and chips which I have to say, seeing other people doing that, I wished I had gone for that rather than the pizza. As someone else said, it is a bit like a school canteen but it was clean and tidy.

Ok so I originally ordered an egg mayo crusty baguette…this arrived and was wet and soggy on top as opposed to a crusty baguette and felt as if it had began to thaw out from the freezer and it was disgusting! So I took it back and ordered a plain ham baguette (crusty as i asked ) as opposed to soggy Egg mayo, surely the ham was a safe bet … but when it arrived it was basically “mealworms” on a plate! .. I mean, who in their right mind minces square / oblong strips of ham and thinks it’s appetising in any other shape rather than sliced? It went back and demanded a refund which I received but it didn’t help my wife still being hungry but put off by the plastic ham mound on her plate, she will be scarred for life for sure!

Good quality food in a nice location. Baby friendly café with suitable facilities. We had the chicken burger, chips and coleslaw (which was lovely and tasted homemade) and fishcakes with Asian slaw and salad. The pizza was good; drizzled with basil oil, I think. The interior feels confused. Needs a better layout that is less cramped in circulation, and an interior design worthy of its setting.

Arrived at The Village close to 5pm when most restaurants were closing. Found my way to the Town Hall Cafe which was still selling desserts. Running out of time, I bought the first thing I saw, a yellow cake with layers of jam, white frosting and chocolate dripping. It was delicious! I have enclosed a picture. Does anyone know what this is called? I would love to get more or attempt to make some but have had no luck with Google searches. Thanks in advance.

We had jacket potatoes which were nicely cooked and I had coleslaw which tasted homemade and it was absolutely lovely! The side salad was fresh and delicious! The chefs seem like a happy bunch, the pizzas looked great too. On a side note. There was a polite lady on the check out, but apart from that the staff seemed more interested in having a chinwag rather than greeting and serving customers. When we first walked in, there were three or four team members having a chat, no one greeted us, we didn't know whether we just walked in and sat down, or if we would be shown to a table? We took a guess and headed for a seat, no one stopped us so we guessed it was right. My partner ordered food and was pointed to the chefs to make an order then pay the lady. We stacked our plates on the tray before we left as we couldn't see anywhere that we should have put them?

No outside seating available until we had waited around 20 minutes. What wasn't clear was that there was additional seating available inside which we would have preferred. No pizzas or linguine available. To cap it all, two mouthfuls later, the fire alarm went off. There were insufficient staff to ascertain that this was a false alarm and so we all had to disperse, along with our half-eaten food. This increased the waiting time even more, needless to say.

The best bit of our visit to Portmeirion! The fish was freshly cooked and the batter was very crispy. The restaurant served us quickly, and it was good to sit down inside for lunch. However Portmeirion itself was pretty disappointing: We paid £17 to get in and had explored the whole village (the bits you are allowed access to) within an hour, including browsing all the shops. Very touristy, but not a good tourist experience, sorry. The plate of fish & chips was very good though!

for £35ish we were disappointed. As a group of four of us went somewhere else. One of us went for the beef burger, the buns were soggy and the patty was just lighty heated up as if it was just thrown into a microwave quickly. I personally got chicken curry with chips, the chicken was grinded up with chunk of chicken which was fine but the actually curry was very watery , oily and it looked like it was just thrown on the basic chips. My younger sister got a margarita pizza. Dam, I never personally seen so much cheese thrown on top of a pizza. Finally the worst one out of the bunch, the vegetarian curry with chips. Holy, the sogginess of the food made me uncomfortable, the vegetables were soft and mushy which made the chips(same ones as I had with the chicken curry) off-putting.Do I recommend that you eat here? Simply, No. There is a restaurant further down the path which looks way more luxurious and is the same price or cheaper than here.

They are trying hard during coronavirus but honestly - if you are thinking of visiting the village make alternative plans for food in advance. We ordered one adult pizza and one children’s pizza. Low quality frozen pizza - like the bad ones. The strangest thing of all was that both pizzas were the same size - despite the children’s one being £5 and the adult one £10. When I questioned this, thinking there must have been a mistake they told me that’s what they always do. Charge two different prices for the same pizza. As if that’s normal. I just thought it was strange and if they can make money on the pizza at £5 what’s the markup at £10? It doesn’t really matter since it was really horrible anyway. Not a good experience.

Having visited Portmeirion many times, we decided as we had previously eaten elsewhere in The Village we would try the Town Hall. Not only is it difficult to get seated it is not wheelchair friendly, and the waitress kept sighing and rolling her eyes at us as we tried to stow my wheelchair. She then came and told us that they were not serving hot food as it was about ten past eleven and they didn't start lunches until 11.30 so I asked if we could order anyway, have our drinks whilst we waited, she didn't really seem to understand me. Another waitress came and took our order, only for yet another person to ask us if we had ordered, the staff just didn't seem to have a clue how to serve customers. When we food arrived it was just awful, the bread was dry and stale, the onion rings seemed like they had been reheated and the salad had a weird dressing on it that made it taste awful, and some of the salad leaves were brown. We managed a few chips and the meat from the sandwich (which to be fair was nice). We went to pay and when asked if all was okay they seemed shocked when we said no. The girl at the till fetched the person in charge to discuss this and he was adamant all the food was fresh that day, if that is the case they need to get a new supplier. He did however give us a small discount on the meal. Would never eat there again and would not recommend it.

Arrived at Portmeirion around 9.30 with the intention of beating the crowds so thought we would have a bit of breakfast once we got there- popped into the Town Hall to be greeted by one of the waitresses announcing they were only serving breakfast (great as that’s what we wanted) however it was delivered like a deterrent so none too welcoming - nobody else in there but took an age for her to come over and take our order - the full traditional as other than the veggie option that was all that was on offer- given the fact that we were at that point the only two diners you would have thought the ‘perfect breakfast’ would be coming our way but no, the bacon looked like it had been sitting there for a couple of days, sausages burnt, eggs all dried and broken, so sadly not a great experience for us there! None of the usual ‘ how is your meal?’ - but you know us brits, we kept quiet and still paid £28 without saying anything!

We didn't even get to eat here and were messed around about wether we could or couldn't when we had 3 young children in tow also that were hungry. Apparently the till were down so the rude and abrupt young waitress said they couldn't process orders. We suggested writing them down and we could pay with cash- she rolled her eyes and sighed- went away---cam back and said ok---then came back and said no using the same reason. Saying then they couldn't process payment so the chefs had stopped cooking- absolutely ridiculous. We said we can calculate the order and give them the cash so they can process it when the tills were back on as surely this wouldn't take long and the kids had already waited long enough just to get to this point- a resounding refusal and very huffy/puffy attitude from the waitress- really not impressed. God help them if they didn't have computers to do the thinking for them-then again----maybe a robot would have better manners and customer service skills than what we experienced. Some professionalism and good manners would've gone a long way in this situation- not bad attitude and being messed around

Clean, tidy and would recommend. Lunch for approx. £20.

Sat outside in glorious sunshine having a very pleasant drink from this lovely little cafe. The person who took our order was delightful and offered to take a picture of us both

Loved our visit to Portmeirion with friends a fabulous place even in bad weather. Had lunch in the Town Hall. We were delighted with our meal which was freshly prepared by the chef and was delicious. The staff we so welcoming, warm and friendly it was such a pleasure to receive such great service and food. Great value and choice and the restaurant was spotlessly clean and bright THANKYOU

We popped in for a light lunch and ordered the ham and mustard sandwiches. We got an enormous malted bread sandwich with about 8 slices of nice cooked ham, a good handful of crisps and mixed salad with coleslaw for £6.99. A real meal. Place, including the toilets was spotless and the waiting on staff were efficient. Well recommended.

We stopped for a quick lunch on our tour of Portmerion village. We sat inside but tables are set up outside on a small veranda. Inside is light, clean and fresh looking. We were served quickly by friendly staff. I ordered a guacamole and peppers sandwich which was made from really large pieces of bread. It came with salad and crisps on the plate. Service was excellent and the cooked food I saw coming out of the kitchen, which is visible from the counter, looked really nice. If you visit Portmerion village this is definitely the place to eat. Really enjoyed it.

I found this pub by chance while I passed by in Porthmadog and it was a nice surprise. I had one of the best pie ever in the Uk travels, the beers were very good and the staff very nice and kind

In the centre if town, this is the only pub open during the day in the off season. Clean and tidy with friendly staff. Drink and food prices are about average, however the portion sizes are bigger than average. I had the cheese burger/fries and it was excellent. Overall, a pleasant experience
