Excellent lunch and service in a lovely location in a pleasant courtyard above Crickhowell. Interesting and imaginative food.

Great for gluten free. Fab breakfast. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and nice down to earth staff (do you know how hard you have to look to get ALL these aspects to align?!!!) I’m here every week now and I’ve tried them all in this town! Another cafe in Crickhowell she turned white when I asked about gf toast and wasn’t even interested when I said I’d bring in my own bread! It’s not difficult people (and here is the proof!). AND they put their baked beans in a ramekin!! lol

My wife and I called into this lovely cafe this morning. We were passing through and happened to spot it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a Latte, and Caramel/Chocolate Shortbread which was very good. The seating area and bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean. Will definitely call in again soon for a bite to eat!

This old school pub is just superb. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere with a great selection of real ale. Even better, Wednesday through to Sunday they do food. Not ordinary pub food but a Jamaican/Welsh fusion. Everything that I have eaten here has been fantastic. Hard to name a favourite but do try the goat curry, oxtail and beef rib accompanied by Jamaican rice and peas, (black eyed peas more like beans). You will not be disappointed!

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

If you find yourself in Crickhowell, the café at Book-ish is a must-visit for coffee and food lovers. The staff greet you warmly, offering friendly and attentive service in an atmosphere surrounded by books, which adds a calming, nostalgic charm. The thoughtfully curated menu may be concise, but every dish shines. Even classics like avocado toast or a bacon sandwich become memorable bursts of flavor. The chef’s personal touch, checking in with diners, exemplifies the care taken here. Highly recommended—I can’t wait to return.

What a dark and dingy place this is! It's pitch dark in there! As I went in for a drink a man came out and asked me if I had a torch! On buying a pint I understood what he was on about, you don't need a torch you need a SEARCHLIGHT! IN MY 73 YEARS IVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH A DARK PLACE! Like most people my age I have fading eyesight, doesn't the Owner realise this or doesn't he/she care? On going to the toilet I banged my head on a low beam, good job I have a good head of hair or i'd have had a nasty bump on my head! I am considering contacting Powys Health and Safety re - the matter. A man with a sore head!

Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.
