Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

We called in on Saturday morning as looking for a breakfast stop to break a 3 hour journey. We walked in and waited, there was girl behind the counter who was to busy talking to someone behind the scenes to even say hello let alone acknowledge us. Another girl appeared from behind and put food in the counter , again no acknowledgement or eye contact. Again too busy having a conversation with other staff members to speak to us. The car park was empty and we couldn’t see any tables in use. We decided that they didn’t want our custom so we left.

Popped in for teacakes & a caramel slice on Friday on our way to Aberystwyth. We've stopped here again today on our way back to Kent. We've had the standard breakfasts (and teacakes to take away - we can't resist them). Always excellent and friendly service and the food is always excellent. When they are busy, you might have to wait a tad longer but it's always well worth the wait. We've been here many times over the last 5 years and I really don't know why I haven't written a review before other than I've been too busy eating 🙃

Good meals but slow service. 45 mins from ordering to the sandwich arriving on the table. The quality was good and portion size fine. It would have been 4 star but for other issues. I totally understand covid restrictions and supplying a covered area outside is good BUT it appears that it doubles as a smoking area with 3 tables smoking as we ate our meals. Nothing to do with the cafe but dogs sat on benches and eating food off a customers plates is a big no no!

When I originally placed order, the young lady carefully wrote down all our requirements, and told us it would be no problem at all. Different story when food arrived at table. Both orders had stuff missing, both orders had items we requested to be left off. Ended up sending the poor waitress back five times. The food itself was very greasy. The mushrooms were swimming in oil, that didn't smell or taste great at all. Overall very disappointing.

I have visited this cafe on a number of occasions and found the food tasty and reasonable priced. Sadly the latest visit was very disappointing which leads me to this review. We were warned on placing our breakfast order that there was a bit a of a delay, but we were not expecting this. Order of 2 breakfasts with black puddings (Extra 80p each). We waited one and half hours (90 minutes) for our food, they seamed to be bringing meals out at random. When we did get our food, they where dumped down on the table, with out comment and minus the black puddings we had paid extra for(they never arrived, not even after complaining) . The service provided was shockingly poor, the food was nice as always but the whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. Sad to say I'm unlikely to return and cannot recommend.

Thirteen years ago my mate and I were motorbiking through Wales and stopped at this cafe for lunch. We remembered it and when we were planning our trip this year, with my wife on her bike as well, through the nearby area made a point of going out of our way to call again. We were not disappointed it has improved and is better than we remembered it. Great outside seating area and the sausage, eggs and chips kept me going for the rest of the day! The owner was very helpful with the route as the road to Hay was blocked by a landslide and has been for some time. Although the road is closed from the south it is worth a few miles to have a nice stop in a friendly cafe.

A great tea room with plenty of parking and easy to access on the side of the road. We stopped in for lunch on the way home, and found a very welcoming and warm environment, which was perfect given the wet weather at the time! Great coffee and a very comprehensive menu serving just about everything from full meals to lighter options, as well as an enticing selection of cakes and treats. I had the steak and ale pie which was absolutely fantastic - very filling, succulent meat, and some of the nicest pastry I've ever enjoyed with a pie. My girlfriend (who is vegetarian and gluten-free) was well catered for as well, having a large jacket potato with beans a cheese, which she was very pleased with! Would highly recommend, and hope to be passing through this way again so we can have another great lunch here!

I had seen this place before but have been in a hurry to get home. This particular Friday wes very wet and I felt the need of a stop. My satnav highlighted that there was a place and the sign confirmed it. After a very friendly welcome i decided on the middle breakfast and a coffee. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, the bacon juicy and crispy in the right places. at last I found somewhere that knows how to cook a fresh tomatoe, beatifuly done and soft n the middle. Breakfast was faultless and I could not have done it better myself. I boought a couple of Bara Brith and some Bread Pudding to take home to the familly, both were excellent. Not often I say this; I recommend eating here its a real treat. I will be back. Thanks very much for making my day. :)

By chance we came across this Jem of a restaurant.I have had the honour to eat in some well known expensive restaurant and through work have paid for Michelin star food. But I have to say the food we eat at Mynydd dud team rooms surpassed all of those.I have the steak pie which was to die for. Every mouthful was a delight and the meat mealted in the mouth. My wife's meal was also sublime. Then we tucked into there home made cakes which like the rest of the fare was top notch.Thank you Mynydd Dudu tea for excellent service and excellent food. You sign sum up you food" We do great Food not Fast food "I would disagree " You cook totally outstanding food" So if you are going anywhere near the tea rooms make a detour and try this Welsh Gem of a restaurant.

We sometimes stop off here en route to the centre of Wales. For what it is its pricy. Whilst the coffee is usually good (coffee should be served in a cup not a mug) the food quality varies enormously. Bara brith is usually excellent: recent teacakes were dreadfully stale and once toasted were about the worst we have had anywhere. In the winter months its often cold inside (it really could do with a wood burner as a focal point) and closes very early (though it boasts of being open every day except Christmas). The loo desperately needs attention: paint and a good scrub would not go amiss.

I nipped in here to get a takeaway coffee while driving through Wales. On impulse I bought a homemade chocolate brownie. I sat in the car park and ate it and couldn't believe that it could taste so stunning. The waxy layer was about 3mm thick and crunchy, with a soft, gooey inside and white chocolate chip chunks. It was astonishingly good. I went back in with my phone hoping to take a photo of the recipe, or at least write it down. The lovely lady who owns the place (I'm guessing?) shook her head when I asked for the recipe. "I never share my recipes" she said, "they're how I win all my prizes". She then pointed to the wall that was covered with winning certificates from the Builth Wells show. I was fairly gutted, but I can see why she wins the prizes! If you go to this cafe, try the chocolate brownie!

Travelling from north to south wales we popped in for lunch. First impressions very good, clean, tidy and well presented. Excellent coffee served whilst we checked out the menu.I had the ham ( recommended) and my wife had the sausage both of which were cooked and served excellently. I was very pleased with the meal and had a fancy for a cake, and i saw that the carrot cake was marked " welsh show winning" and with a little smile i said " ah but which year?" . The lady smiled and gestured to the awards proudly displayed behind the counter and her response with a huge smile was " MOST OF THEM" It was lovely. There were also at least two youngsters working at the establishment and they were smart, friendly and hardworking and a credit to the cafe.I don't usually comment on 'facilities' but in this case its worth mentioning. This cafe is in the middle of a very popular walking area and there is a sign saying free to patrons and 20p to passers by ,all going to charity, i liked that. And it's funny what makes an impression: a prominent sign saying "please don't sit at a bigger table than necessary" was itself a bit unnecessary, I felt. How big is necessary? Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.
