We called in on the off chance as we were passing and it was dog friendly. Little dissapointed that we were put in a separate room to eat because we had the dog but I have to say it was by far the best breakfast we have had in a really long time. And the price was very reasonable. Well worth stopping off for.

My wife and i popped into Crickhowell for a wander as it was a nice day and decided to go into the Court Room Cafe for some lunch as we went there a while ago and it was nice, once again it never let us down. We both had sandwiches with salad and crisps with soft drinks, the food was prepared freshly and you got a good helping of food, the service was 5 star and served with a smile which goes a long way, just a nice place for lunch.

Discovered this gem when we stopped on our way to Bristol . We usually stop at a large supermarket in the next town, we won’t be any longer . Beautiful home cooked food , cakes were amazing and if we were on our way home I think we would have asked them to box up some apple tart . Definitely worth a visit . Private wc access by code only and a separate room for visitors with their four legged friends.

Came for a hearty lunch prior to walk up to table mountain. Have previously gone to a cafe 100 yds away on A40 but felt somewhat short changed on last visit so did some research and found this place slightly hidden away on first floor of high street building. Menu is totally unpretentious and all the better for it. We both had pasties which came with a diverse side selection with salad garnish, beetroot, cous cous and the best potato salad. The stand out bits are no music playing (hoorah!), extra water with the tea without even asking which is so unusual these days. I also love the fact they offer filter coffee at just £1.90 though trendier coffees are also available. Nice to see a separate room for those with dogs. Had a slice of fudge cake which was similar to Tiffin and very good. At just £2, we took one with us on the walk too. If it had been £3 we wouldn’t have so other cafes take note, we do have our limits!

Great breakfast- really good value and excellently cooked. People working there were lovely. Was a bit of a wait for the food but definitely well worth it. Good selection on menu. Dog friendly tables in a separate room - as there was 5 of us and a dog it was great to be able to call in advance and book rather than just have to wander round trying to find a place to fit us in.

Lovely traditional cafe in the centre of Crickhowell in an Interesting building, actually, as the name subtly suggests, an old Court Room! Up a flight of stairs, then a warm and friendly greeting, the staff in here are lovely. Very light and airy room, with large windows open wide in decent weather. The labelled homemade food is all displayed behind glass, so you can see what to choose from, and it's all good - pies, bakes, quiches, sandwiches (cakes too). Chicken and Spinach Bake is delicious, but our favourite is the lasagne, really good. Comes with a choice of baked potato or salad, and what an array of different salads you get, all very good. If I have room for pudding - helpings are generous here - the Pineapple Upsidedown Cake with cream (or custard or ice cream) is a real treat. Opens 9 am - 3 pm, so a great place for morning coffee and cake, and lunch too. Excellent service, great food, and a lovely place to be. Seems very popular with locals, always a good sign, but welcoming to tourists too. This cafe has high standards and gives very good value for money. Recommended.

My wife and i had a day out and ended up in Crickhowell , nice independent shops and places to eat at. We chose the Court Room Cafe as the reviews were good and we were not let down. Went in and no available tables so the lady behind the counter said leave your phone number and i will ring you when one comes up, good idea, phoned about 15 mins later and we had a table. We had tuna and tomato sandwiches with salad and plenty of crisps, 2 bottles of soft drinks and i finished off with apple pie and custard which just had to be done. No small slice of tart and a dollop of custard here ! Good slice of tart and a plate swimming with custard, how it was when i was a young lad, great fresh sandwiches, tart to die for and very good covid precautions, not forgetting the service of course, great lunch.

This is a delightful, small, upstairs (with lift) restaurant on the busy High Street of Crickhowell, voted the Best UK High Street 2018. The setting is unique in the lofty, old Courthouse. The menu is basic, the food is plain, simple and excellent quality. The service is first class. Consistently the best coffee and cakes in Crickhowell. We have tried them all and we keep coming back to The Courtroom. The Courtroom Café is easy to miss, which would be a pity; it's situated upstairs inside the Market Hall in the High Street. The full breakfast was excellent and good value for money. The bacon sandwich on the other hand was not so good - served on white steamed bread. The bread was supposed to come from the baker across the road and therefore, we expected a freshly cut 'doorstop' bloomer sandwich but perhaps that was just us. The bacon was great but the bread... A pair of scissors are provided to open the sauce sachets (great) but a bottle would be much easier. All the food (apart from the bread) is made on the premises daily from local produce. Soup, pasta dishes, quiches, baked potatoes, sandwiches etc. are available for lunch. The cakes looked lovely and the piece of bread pudding we bought for later was delicious. Breakfast is served 0900 - 1130 and the café closes at 1700 hours (1000 - 1600 hours on a Sunday).

stopped off in Crickhowell en route elsewhere for work. Popped my head in another place which seemed a bit steamy and cramped so tried here.lovely room, lovely ladies, nice mix of old and young customers, from a few months to many decades, no shortage of beards and fleeces.I only had a coffee which was very nice but the cakes looked delicious. I will be back, with the Mrs, to try them out.The whereabouts of the toilets weren't obvious so I don't know what they are like. I went to the ones by the car park. Oh dear.

This lovely quiet cafe is hidden away on the first floor of the old Market Hall in the centre of the town. It seems to be a family run business and all the food is homemade and freshly prepared. There are some stairs to climb but also a lift for the less able.Really lovely cakes on display and I can highly recommend the quiche. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Service isn't the quickest in the world but good things shouldn't be rushed. I will be using this as my regular rest stop when travelling through to the west.

Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

We stayed in the village in May and visited Gegin Fach for breakfast a couple of times. It was absolutely fabulous! I had the full English breakfast both times and it was delicious. The staff and locals couldn't have been more friendly. Would highly recommend.

Passing through on a biking challenge over the weekend we found this cosy authentic welsh pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the beer selection was perfect and they couldn’t do more for us! Would definitely return if in the area again!
