The Black Bull is no more. The Bull was a decent wee auld man's boozer, handy for the station and with a decent pint too. It wasn't the best looking pub, but will be missed. 'Kentigerns', as it's now called, still does a decent pint and they've upgraded the decor. Full of students now, no atmosphere. Jury's out for now.

Big barn of a place, so it was a bit on the cool side, but worth a visit for their great selection of beers and ales.

Delicious freshly made scone with Butter and Jam and superb Vanilla Latte (Mum had an amazing Mueille Feuille) cake. Lovely friendly, helpful staff who were engaging and couldn't do enough to help us. It's also great for people like one of our family members who use a wheelchair. We had never been before and had a great experience.

used a groupon for afternoon tea. we arrived around 1130am (had booked) no table free or ready, eventually got a tiny table that was over taken by the afternoon tea stand, tea pots, plates etc. cakes were delicious, same with scones. nice mix of sandwich flavours and tasted fresh. quiches were quite clearly microwave and had soft pastry. would not pay full price for afternoon tea.

A last minute lunch visit and we ended up coming here as we had never been. The food was nice, it's good value and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had young children with us and my Aunt wanted to give one of them a belated birthday cake, which the staff assisted with

It was mid-afternoon in a snowy Glasgow and after seeing the movie Maestro (lifestory of composer Leonard Bernstein) at the nearby GFT we were in need of a late lunch; somewhere can-do, cosy and welcoming. At The Salon we were offered all that and more. Welcomed from the minute the door was opened for us, we found the staff attentive and caring - nothing was too much trouble. In tribute to Maestro Bernstein's New York, I had a Reuben sandwich. Food and wine came quickly and was delicious. By coincidence, our friendly and efficient server was called Felicia - the same name as Mrs Bernstein. The movie references aside, here is a venue where you can feel relaxed and looked after. Reminded me of the atmosphere in the late lamented Rogano. Good mix of people including a newly married couple, hotel and spa guests, and walk-ins like ourselves. Would it be too cliched to say that 'There's A Place for Us'!

We loved it , amazing Turkish delight drink I loved it worth the money, very reasonable 100 % recommended will be back !!

Hoy, veinte minutos antes de la hora de cierre, se negaron a servir cualquier comida salada del gabinete “porque vamos a cerrar pronto”. (Todos los alimentos están pre-preparados y requieren como mucho calentamiento). En una ocasión anterior no querían servir café en una taza de porcelana por la misma razón, solo usando tazas de papel. Parece razonable esperar que estén abiertos ofreciendo una gama completa de servicios hasta que cierren, en lugar de entrar en una especie de estado crepuscular donde solo están medio abiertos, presumiblemente porque el personal no puede esperar a escapar del lugar al final de su turno. Ciertamente causa mala impresión.

Lugar maravilloso. Deliciosa comida. Buen personal. Excelente ubicación: 100 / 100 Nuestra primera vez allí y disfrutamos mucho del lugar, lugar maravilloso. Nos encanta toda la comida, y el tipo de ver cuando se necesita algo especial.

¡No te preocupes, es más grande por dentro! Agradable personal de servicio rápido y "tiene más sentido" baños unisex. Justo al lado de la estación de tren y la calle Buchanan subterráneo, dos entradas. Y todos parecen felices.

They advertise gluten free food when next to nothing is gluten free. It is all cooked in the same fryer, chips , fish etc with normal food. The staff were very dismissive of this and stated “well yeh it’s not completely gluten free “. The 2 girls on the desk were incompetent (or rude I can’t decide ) When speaking to her she said “let me finish” and then we don’t write the menu. Food ordered for other family members. The chips were tasteless & the pizza base was like cardboard. The lady who brought out food was pleasant enough but the other 2 girls were still looking over at the table obviously thinking the earlier situation was funny. Wouldn’t go back.
