Visited recently on a voucher. Outside tables full and not so much space so we opted for eating inside. Much quieter. Staff friendly but could have had more on as we waited a while for service. Food good but not spectacular for the area. Menu did have plenty of food options. A pleasant lunch with friend but can't say would rush back for seconds!!!

We visiti this little Patio restaurant in Princes Square in the heart of Glasgow's busy town center. It's a great place to take the weight off your feet and have a really good cup of coffee. For launch or dinner my favorite is the veggie wrap. The soups are fresh and hearty. They even can offer gluten free bread if you are that way inclined. There are so many restaurants in this area but you won't go wrong here.

My friend and I went on Friday evening. We had phoned ahead and were generously given a deal which had just expired. Two coureses for 2 people for £ 20 from the main menu, only a few exclusions. We sat at the outside part of the restaurant. The service was informative and friendly. We ordered the mussels and the humous to start, then the chicken skewers and the lamb from the frites menu. Everything was delicious although the lamb was slightly overcooked. We then ordered the cheese board, big mistake!! After ordering it the waiter came to tell us there was no cheddar and that the board would only have brie and blue cheese.. For us this was fine. However, when it came it had one tiny piece of blue cheese, thin slice of goats cheese and 2 thin slices of inedible brie, which turned out to be the rubberyist halloumi I have ever eaten. We picked at it then left it as goats cheese and halloumi is not my idea of a good choice for a cheese board. Told the waiter but he didnt seem in the least bit interested. We took our bill up to pay and told a second waiter, again not interested. Eventually I suggested it should be taken off the bill which she did do, although through gritted teeth. Its a shame as her service had been good and the rest of the meal had been good, which I did tell her. Its also a shame they just didnt say the cheese board was off.All in all it was a good meal that was great value, and sitting in Princess Square was very pleasant. Serving a poor cheese board was a mistake but not to rectify the mistake was silly. Would go back with an offer but not sure I would go back without one.

We had quite high hopes for this small bistro. The menu read well and it seemed to be filling a much needed space in the casual dining scene in a busy place. Mediterranean food was the promise, the reality was subtly different. To be fair, the sharing plates were ok but when it came to the mains things went downhill. I took the fish and chips (Mediterranean???) and the fish was over cooked and probably straight from the freezer. That would be the same freezer the chips were kept in. My wife took an interesting pasta dish, the main flavour ingredient being chorizo. Unfortunately the person who heated it didn't take the skin off the chorizo and it wasn't a high quality edible skin, it was an inedible artificial one that glued itself to the meat when it was heated. Lazy cooking. We gave up then and went across the way to Tinderbox for a decent coffee. Sorry, we won't be back even though the pasta dish wasn't charged.

This is the second time I've dined here in the last month. I greatly enjoyed the food, the wine was pleasant and the location is lovely, however the customer service is terrible. Both times I've visited I've been greeted by different staff members who look like they just don't want to be there and their service is very slow. It is a real shame because it has so much potential. The last time I dined, there were 5 tables without any drinks, it was clear that some of the tables were getting irritated as they had been waiting a long time. The staff never went around to ask if anybody would like some more wine / deserts and patrons had to get out of their seats to find a member of staff to ask for the bill. It wasn't busy and it seemed more like avoidance than being rushed off their feet, which I would have understood. It just felt like they wanted everyone to leave.Unfortunately, I will not be returning as I have given the place two chances and had the same problem both times.

This is our second visit to this little Bistro. The service is excellent as is the setting in Princess Square , the presentation of the food was again excellent but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. My wife had Moroccan Lamb but it was a bit tough and apart from a mint dip we couldn't find anything Moroccan about it, the steak that I ordered looked great on the plate but again ,the meat was tough, both dishes were cooked as we requested " medium " so we expected them to be tender. so a wee bit disappointed with thatIf we go back we would not order those dishes again, but other things on the menu looked interesting, so would give it another go sometime in the future

Keen for a glass of wine and platter to share headed to Azur Bistro in the lovely Princess Square! When asked waiter if table that had just come free was available ,was greeted with a sullen face and unwelcoming manner. He left us wondering whether we were indeed allowed to sit down but did so anyway where we sat for the next 5 minutes with no eye contact from either waiter or waitress and no menu. At this point we left so unable to comment on food or drink! Headed across to Barca where we were greeted by friendly staff ,good food and drink...bonus!

This place is in a lovely setting, in the Princes Square shopping center. We sat in the "outdoor" area of the restaurant (Princes Square is enclosed with a glass roof). We had a decent breakfast here - my eggs benedict were fine but not spectacular but my coffee was nice and the service was easy-going but basically attentive. We had a difficult time finding a decent sit-down breakfast in this area so it fit the bill in that it was a pleasant setting and they were serving but I would not go out of my to return.

We stopped by here for a light lunch on a Saturday, being drawn by the appeal of the inside "alfresco" experience offered by Princes Square. We chose two sharing platters between four of us, which were perfectly substantial. However, the menu suggested that they are significantly different, but in reality they were both a variation on a theme. Particularly irksome was the fact that one should have come with bread and the other with flatbreads but they both came with flatbreads. This is bizarre as bread is something of which no restaurant should be in short supply and there should, therefore, be no reason for this to have been substituted. The menu was uninspiring and the service equally so. It felt as if the place needs to define itself and fit within a particular type of cuisine rather than a bit of this and a bit of that. Value for money was fine. I don't think we will be rushing back but there are far worse places to eat.

We visited this restaurant by chance. The ambience was lovely with relaxing Mediterranean music and original touches to the décor. Service was friendly and efficient. But what bowled me over was the quality of the food. Two dishes in particular were remarkable, first the quiche (part of the "Azur" sharing platter) which was very fresh, not the least bit rubbery or runny, with a first class pastry base. Secondly, the vegetables in the goat cheese salad were done to perfection. I mention just two outstanding details of a meal I could not find fault with. Highly recommended.

We were tempted by the 5pm.com offer of 2 courses for £14.95 set menu with a glass of (poor) wine thrown in. The place was quiet but service was slow, however I ordered hummus with flatbread and tomato and red onion salad. Bread & hummus were nice but were accompanied by only salad leaves. I politely pointed this out to the server who took my plate away returning with some chopped red onion on top of leaves and was informed it was a red onion salad on menu, I showed her their menu on my phone, RED ONION & TOMATO SALAD (the reason I ordered this dish) .... This was fobbed off & I just got on with it. Main course was tiny piece of quiche & while this was tasty, it was more like a small starter. Service was poor & no one asked if we'd like another drink when we finished our carafe of wine. All in all, very average food, poor service & I will NEVER dine there again. Even with a glass of wine included, not good value.

Food was excellent and presented well, we were given enough time between courses, there was no rush. Service was very good and restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Only one small criticism which is purely personal....and that is the wine wasn't chilled enough for me. I like wine served really chilled! We did have a wine bucket but there was no ice in it. Azur Bistro served up a menu catering to all six of us girls, from French inspired crepe and croque monsieur to the safe steak and pomme frites you would expect of any bistro and all very enjoyable. however, it was our starters that were the highlight of the meal in particular the French onion soup, goats cheese and chicken liver parfait were all a hit!The girls and I enjoyed a nice booth tucked away making us feel as if we had a private room. We went on a voucher deal and we were pretty disappointed. The Toulouse sausages were quite tasty but the watery gravy and unseasoned mash was a bit of a let down. The shepherds pie was well presented but the taste wasn't anything to write home about either. This meal was served with a piece of wood in it about 2 inches long and the width of a darning needle. Luckily my husband managed not to swallow it. When we were asked how we enjoyed our meal by the young waitress we told her about the wood in the shepherd's pie. She went off to the chef and reported back to us that the small sharp piece of wood was from the wooden container in which they cook the Camembert!! They offered to change the dish but we declined. We just asked for the bill and left. I know mistakes are made but what annoyed me was the attitude of the staff - no apology what so ever was given. We will definitely not be back -most disappointing.

I wasn't entirely sure what could & should be eaten. Tasted okay...it has something sort of nutty, crumble thing on top that resembled musli & added nothing to the dish. It was also accompanied by a slice of candied orange & some berries. In my opinion, too much going on. Would prefer more was invested in the flavours & ingredients of the main event instead of pot pourri accompaniments.

Azur Bistro is in the prestigious Princes Square in Glasgow. It is a stunning location. On a Friday night the place was empty. In fact many bars and restaurants were empty! I had high expectations of the restaurant but the meal was mediocre. I was part of a large group of friends, several of whom left their main course. Possibly it is best to choose from the a la carte menu rather than go for a set pre-theatre menu. Would say the pre-theatre menu is more a lunch menu than one you would want for an evening meal.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with my wife and ordered from the a la carte menu. Our starters consisted of French onion soup at £4.95 and Calamari at £6.25. Soup was ok but portion size a bit on the mean side. Calamari was edible and served with a very nice homemade tartare sauce. However, the portion size was a joke. 5 calamari rings working out at £1.25 per ring. This is not in any way acceptable or value for money. For mains we ordered mussels and seafood linguine. No complaints about the mussels - perfectly acceptable for the price. Seafood linguine was all pasta and very little seafood. What there was of the seafood was very poor - a couple of chewy squid rings, some tiny prawns and a few mussels. Bit of a rip off to say the least. Didn't bother with anything after the mains. After 3 attempts, the staff finally managed to present us with the correct bill. The question I would pose to the owner of this restaurant is why bother opening up if you aren't fully committed to serving your customers with quality, value for money food? There are too many better places within a 100 yards to make me even think about a return visit to Azur. Unless of course there are big improvements! Drastic changes required otherwise this place is doomed to failure.

Had a lovely lunch with my Sister-in-law and Neice here on Friday afternoon. We choose from the set lunch menu which was £11.95 for 2 courses and great value. We all really enjoyed our starters , I had the mussels which were delicious ! We were all happily stuffed after our mains so we couldn't fit in a pudding. But we were given some freshly baked Madelaine's with our Prosecco to finish off! Service was fantastic , will deffo be going back.

Stumbled across this restaurant whilst doing some shopping with my sister and we're glad we did! We opted for a the set lunch menu as we were in no rush and starving! The service was great and our order was taken promptly before enjoying our bottle of fizz, a little treat to ourselves. The food was to die for, you could tell it was freshly prepared and the portion size was good. We will definitely be returning with the rest of the family soon.

in town with my wife & decided to have lunch in Princes Square. As this was the 2nd, it was very busy. Thought that we would try Azur Bistro. It was really busy and we were unable to get a seat outside so we got a nice table inside.Went for lunch menu menu. We both had the liver pate for our starter. My wife had the quiche du jour and I went for the crepe. Both came with fries. Because they were so busy, there was a great buzz in the restaurant. The staff were really busy but, were friendly & helpful. Loved the decor with its French touch. Food was excellent & the service was great.Really enjoyed our lunch & would definitely go back. Worth a try if you are in the vicinity.

Fabulous breakfast at Azur bistro. Great service and very good food. Had the toast with home made jam and marmalade. It's brilliant! Omelettes were just perfect. Great value and great food in Scotland's greatest city.

We've just eaten the most delicious lunch. The mushroom soup was the best I've ever had and the chicken with cream cheese and blush tomato baguette was equally good. It is a gem of a place, located in Princes Square. The ambience is perfect, the staff fantastic and the decor very tasteful. I live a hundred miles away from here but I'll certainly be back.

went for lunch recently, very parisienne, great atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food was just great, simple french cooking at its best. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the restaurant I would recommend highly if visiting Princess Square. I will definitely return.

Having tried to get in another restaurant next door which was full, we were directed to this one, and it turned out to be a little gem.It offered a good simple menu, with a good selection for all courses, and I happily ordered for each course, enjoying every mouthful, with som excllent wine that we had also ordered.A little noisey at times, but it added to the atmosphere, and would happily return to this place to eat again.

5pm vouchers?- bad choice. Ur given minute steak which is barely edible, charged for the very sauce to go with it and the bread which most restraunts give complimentary.cocktail was disgusting and wen manager was informed I was told this was a business and that's how we make our money!!

Had lunch at Azur during Xmas shopping day. Booked earlier in the day, turned up 15 mins early but seated almost immediately. We were offered both the a la carte and pre- theatre menus and ordered drinks. Service was very speedy even though the place was quite busy. The food was very tasty, calamari crispy but soft inside with a lovely lemon, salt and pepper sprinkle. Mains were very good and desserts not too shabby either. Only minor complaints, if you coul call them that, we're that the soup could have been a bit warmer and the base of the lemon tart was a bit too thick. But as I have said, only minor. Value wise, very good and the price of the wine is just what you would pay in any city centre bar. No real complaints would definitely go back

Visited this new bistro on a Sunday evening & it was relatively quiet. Starters were nice-mussels in white wine sauce. Had steak frites for main meal & steak was cooked perfectly. Desserts of creme brûlée & chocolate pot were delicious. Good value for money-worth a visit.

I'm "marginally positive" about Princes Sq and ditto about steak, so with that in mind I was led to said place to eat rump and chips. It'll come as no surprise then that I'm now "insignificantly decisive" about Azur Bistro. In a nutshell service was impeccable, but then again we were the only ones there. Steak was perfectly medium, but came with "McDonalds" chips and either the plate was too big, or the portion was too small? (An ever-present tummy rumble should have given me a clue to which). And the house red was perfectly unobjectionable. Decor wise and ambience? Remember Fifi and Ally? Well it's exactly the same, but without the flowery teapots'. But Fifi and Ally is no more and this Cranachan owned bistro's taken its place. For the better? To some degree, probably.

Azur Bistro, looks lovely and the decor is fab, the food was great too, however the service let it down, the waitress was lovely and really apologetic, but it is not acceptable for some people to be served there breakfast and have eating it and the rest of the table waiting a good 30 mins after we had finished! Lattes were not hot and sent back. Not a good first impression. Not sure if I would return.

We love dining in Princes Square but had never been to Azur before so I bought the voucher to use for their Steak Frites deal of 2 steak meals and glass of wine each. Have to say we were disappointed with this dining experience. The starter was really good. I had the tiger prawns with a garlic butter although for £7.50 could have done with a couple prawns more and my husband had a lovely mushroom soup. Our steaks were cooked as we asked for them but my steak knife really struggled to cut my medium/rare sirloin and it was chewy. It was probably the worst steak I have ever had. I found the chips really greasy and with only half a tomato it was not a big portion. The standard of food in the other restaurants in Princes Square is excellent but I'm afraid Azur did not match up to any of them.

Lugar maravilloso. Deliciosa comida. Buen personal.

He estado aquí varias veces.

Awful tasteless nachos, stale unsalted chips, orange no cheese sauce, guacamole & sour cream dip with no flavour and 6 kidney beans instead of advertised veggie chilli. Ate about 3 chips, explained to the waitress why I left the rest, but no refund or alternative offered. Happy to pay £9 to have the plate taken away.

Obviamente no recién hecho, solo calentado. A 8 libras. 50 fue una desgracia. No volveremos.
