Costa Coffee in Glasgow City

Was served by Brian, at around 7am I got a hot chocolate with cream and mallows. Brian was so quick, cheerful and professional. I always have a good experience here but this was the first time I met Brian and it was by far the best, definitely an asset to the team

Why does it say it's open at 5:30am when it's not open till 6:30am. Wasted time walking there in between connecting coaches

Staff we're friendly, hardworking and very busy. Ordered a large cappucino. The coffee beans were burnt. Didn't want to bother the very busy staff so I drank it...It was hard to drink.

Service is awful, second time I have ordered on the app to collect and had to leave without my drink, both times the order was placed 15 minutes before I arrived and no one had dealt with it, piss poor

Costa coffee has reached its peak and now slowly on decline. The drinks don't taste the same anymore. It's much worse now. I only go when I'm super desperate when travelling

I went in today, they didn't even seem busy there were 3 people infornt of me. I asked for a latte and a salted caramel brownie, the person at the till repeated that to me and handed me my cake and coffee and it wasn't until I got onto the train that I realised they gave me a fruity flapjack which I am allergic to.

The only reason the food isn't 1 star is because if the cheddar and tomato sandwich which tasted good after being heated imo , service was so bad to the point that they got My order wrong 3 times in a row in a time span of 5 minutes , they're also very rude and wouldn't recommend going to.

This is my go-to cafe inside the Glasgow Central Station. Whenever I travel, I always grab food+drinks from this place. Great staff 😃 Quick service 💫 You can sit and have your food (lots of places to sit inside🪑). Almost no waiting time even during busy hours.

No pressure staff. They work hard and let you enjoy your drinks at a leisurely pace.

Two months on from my last update ... somebody has clearly glanced at my comments. First of all the staff remain unceasingly cheerful and efficient continue to be the strength of this coffee stop. It's a brilliant location and so expect it to be pretty busy from 7:30 until 18:30 - the coffee is reasonably pleasant/inoffensive and the pastries fresh, be quick or you don't get a comfy. Actually I stopped being a Costa regular when I the staff co sistently handed over cups of luke warm coffee - oh and if I am rushing for a train I don't have the time to re-queue and wait for a replacement to be produced. My other reason for not visiting is the strength/quality of the product, too often it was pretty weak and/or a third full of milk froth .... so. after years of beinga Costa customer I now go elsewhere - plenty of others out there fancy a cut of that "coffee shop" cake ... end of story

Meal deal advertised for a bap and any hot drink. It’s Sunday morning. Decisions are hard, ya na mean? Anyway we chose a bap and a hot drink but then we were told the drink wasn’t included, and the bap wasn’t included. Like, even the staff couldn’t understand why. Paid full price for both. Anyway, we got an egg mushroom and spinach bap. Wish I could attach a photo… it looks hilarious. To be clear, they mean spinach (singular).

The people that work here are so nice, every morning I come in! I don't really care about the brand or the coffee (which is all good too) ...but the staff are the best! All service workers need to be paid more than they're currently getting!

Place was filthy ended up leaving and binning food. Staff all having a laugh with each other ignoring the customers.

Got gave completely the wrong order no syrup and I'm sure this is not decaf so I'm going to have to throw it away since for medical reasons I'm not allowed regular coffee what an utter waste of money

Today i came in to get a frappe from here to have on the train home from a long day. the service was ok but they gave me spoiled wipped cream what Ruined my drink.

Still treating us like lepers with plastic screens that have zero basis in science. Not exactly making you feel welcome

Today I was at Costa da Estação (this is not usual for me). I ordered two breads and two coffees to go. The establishment wasn't so full and they treated it with complete disregard (a blonde girl and a guy who helped her), when I asked for the bag he didn't help me put the coffee inside saying he didn't know, so I accidentally ripped the bag trying to put the coffee in and still spilled it. A complete disregard, and my friend has already gone through similar embarrassments in the establishment where they laughed at her level of English.

Would have preferred to support the more independent coffee shop there but they would not take cash, and as a visitor from overseas I wanted to get rid of my small change. Coffee was ok as were croissants. Costas comes with no great expectations so you get what it says above the door.

My bad morning! when I order a cup of tea and milk take away ! and today 25-3-2022 the guy serving is not friendly with me! he gave me a glass with only tea and no milk! and there was only 1 cup and I was so hot I couldn't even hold that cup of tea! Even though it's not crowded today, he seems completely different from me! I come here for breakfast every morning. but today I decided to choose another more suitable place! Goodbye 😞

I was very rudely told that customers had to show proof of completing track trace before transaction at the counter--very off-putting. Also floors dirty and slippy. Poor.

If I could give this place no stars I would absolutely disgusting customer service skills and lack of Communication staff who made my coffee had a bad attitude and started arguing with me when the customer is always right anyways definately won't be back there again and she definately needs to go on a course on how to have proper manners in customer service skills because she's is definately lacking it absolutely 💯 discrace

Upon ordering they Didn’t ask wether I wanted to sit in or take away. They automatically packed my order to take away, hot chicken wrap, cake & coffee? Seriously ? i then state I wanted to sit in. Woman then cheekily said “ do track & trace to sit in” they only offer take out cups even when sitting in. Not the best Costa I’ve visited.

Worse Costa iv ever been in and iv been in a lot. Guy serving behind the counter was pompous. I was struggling with all my baggage. He demanded I scan the track and trace before I could put baggage down at a table, so I did scan it, he then still wouldn't allow me to sit to sign in demanding I stand at counter and sign in so he could see that I have done it. Outrageous behaviour. To treat a customer in that way. I was upset and walked out. I walked into pret were I was served by a courteous friendly guy. It would fit you better to clean your shop and learn better manners. I will never be back

Service is too slow even when it's not busy.

It's quite a cramped cafe considering it is in quite a large space, very busy and slow service but the staff are really friendly and they have lots of selection

Put my ‘take out’ coffee down on a table for a minute to check train times and get accosted by a rude american staff member on a power trip for it. Don’t care enough to go back again. 🙄🙄

where to start - formerly my favorite coffee spot - we've been together through refits, revamps and water running out of the sir conditioners like a waterfall - yet here we are not a customers ... just a debit card on coffee coveyor belt. In the last month I have had 4 half hottish coffees served by a stressed/harassed trainee barista, two medium take away cups half full of frothy milky 'stuff' and a very slow leaking cup ...I have also had to walk out due to my train departing like mucho pronto. R egular staff are fab - Rob, Chris and the usual suspects, and I accept eveyone has to start somewhere - and we all make mistakes - but that somewhere ought to be in training and the customet should not be landed with the ' 'mistakes' when they are already on a train ! Get a grip - its simply not woth £3 to be regularly disappointed

I normally wouldn't rate costa but I have found the service is either amazing or awful. This is a bad one. I love the coffee but not so much the service in some (although a few are excellent)... Staff give min service, tables dirty and not cleaned and you need to in covid times ask? Also prompted after 10 mins sitting to do track & trace... Which luckily I had done... Coffee was good but staff are surley and not a welcoming experience unlike St Vincent St who are excellent!

Very friendly and efficient staff. Seating arranged in a socially distanced manner. Tables being cleared and sanitized between customers. All in all I enjoyed my visit and felt my safety and wellbeing were taken care of.

I often meet a friend to watch a film and we grab a drink in Costa before. I am really pleased that they now have plant based milk (though, beware, they charge an additional 40p for anything other than soya) and a vegan toastie too. Might treat myself to a meal deal next time I go as it's a decent deal when compared to the price of their coffee. 😊

Based in Glasgow Central Station, sells the usual Costa products. The station was very busy and Costa appeared understaffed - tables left dirty and not cleared away. Long queue for orders. Shop is only small & in desperate need of a clean, no toilet facilities. The only positive was the new Ruby Cocoa Hot Chocolate drink.

Good position alongside main concourse (close to M&S), so handy meeting place or if waiting for trains. Staff very helpful, efficient & well organised. Quiet-ish for my mid-morning visit so plenty seating but expect much less so at busier times. No outside seating, not while I was there.

Asked for the Ruby Hot Chocolate and was served frothed milk with pink colouring. It tasted awful and the barista serving us was very impolite. He made it clear that he couldn't be bothered and complained about serving us behind our backs. I didn't realise he had served me frothed milk until I got on the train. I couldn't actually drink it, paid full price for it.

Avoid this place first thing in the morning, today i waited 20mins for a coffee and almost missed my train!! Otherwise its usually great with friendly staff :)

A very busy, sometimes too busy coffee place. Staff are magic, welcoming and helpful. The space is rather tight and doesn't lend itself to large groups. Excellent wee' spot for watching the world go by. Coffee is great, as is usually the case with Costa.

Delicious hot crhsitmas beverages

Friendly staff and nice busy coffee shop atmosphere but the coffee is weak and lattes are luke warm. You should not need to ask for extra shots and for it to be extra hot to get a decent caffiene kick and heat on your drink.

As a bit of a coffee enthusiast I make it a point to stop at cafes in every city I travel to so I can try something new and unique. I collect photos and personal reviews which I later publicize. Plus coffee is delicious! While I absolutely love the charm of the store front, the accessibility right next to my train, and the menu options, I am horrified at what lurked behind the doors. Not only was the place an absolute disaster, littered with cups and garbage on almost every table (and even the floor), the staff looked stressed and irritated. The line was long as it was during a late lunch rush - but what happened next was beyond unprofessional and disappointing. During my order the manager came out from his office (I'm assuming) after having been waiting some time already. Instead of assisting his staff and helping to take orders, make drinks, or clean the mess, he walked past it all and disappeared. Fifteen minutes later he reappeared to a hopeful staff and continued on to his office again. He didn't even have the courtesy to ask his baristas if they needed a hand, or ask if they needed a five minute break to regroup. As a working professional who has held positions of authority - I am appalled at his lack of consideration, professionalism, and willingness to do any sort of work at all. He should not have a career in customer service when he clearly cannot serve. He is too concerned with himself. I will be reviewing this cafe on my channel and blog for my many viewers. If it was possibly to vote a negative star, I would. Hope the baristas continue to smile and possibly consider a more fulfilling job elsewhere so they can experience proper management and team atmosphere.

Visited this restaurant at 9 in the morning. Was quite busy but service was good and coffees and cakes hit the spot.

The girls at the counter were very rude and unpolite. Service was quite slow and the queue ended up almost at the entrance. Coffee, toast and muffin were good

Absolutely shocking. 1st asked for an.extra hot coffee to take on my train journey. This turned out to be luke warm. 2nd one was hot but when I tried it on the train it was like hot milk. Service was a shambles, better off getting one from the train trolley.

Slow don't listen to what your actually ordering and generally poor service.

Staff are amazing, always friendly , I highly recommend they're iced tea they are fabulous.

Very good coffie there and excellent to stopp there and have a seat and drink coffie and cokkie, I alwais stopp there when I are shopping, you can drink the coffie indoor ore outdoor if you like, love it

Don't like the new seating arrangements

The female at the counter yesterday afternoon was surly. Without telling me she handed me over to a male at the back who had the manners of a pig. Barking requests/instructions in front of a queue of people when I didn't know he was speaking to me. Then when I attempted to pay him, he again lost interest, barking 'wait a minute' - as do all people totally unsuited to dealing with the public. If you care to check my record of awarding points, I don't give out a 'one star' unless it is richly deserved.

So customer in front doesn’t get the extra shot that she wanted and wanted sugar in the cup before the cream. After a few brief words about not listening, the walks off to catch her train. Then the member of staff is busy slagging the customer off and misses my drink completely. “Who takes sugar in their hot chocolate anyway? That’s just weird in’it!” she tells each of the 3 members of staff individually. Actually I do, so I’m obviously ‘weird’, so yeah I’m offended! This goes on for 6 whole minutes until I get my latte and run for my train to find it’s cold and I mean cold, like cup that’s been sitting there for 20 minutes cold! I must have given Costa 5 Stars in about every shop in the land over the years, but this was disgusting. Wonder what she would say behind my back if I had had time to complain my coffee is cold? Not amused, sort it Costa! 😡😡😡😡😡

Same formula and menu with reliable good standard coffee mixed with the guilt of not suporting the independent chains. Slowly taking over the world along with Starbucks. As common as Greggs in Glasgow.

It's Costa. Service was great and although it's small we got a seat easily and chilled out before the train.

Served very quickly and my soya latte nice and hot. Lots of seating areas inside and outside. Overlooking Glasgow Square and next to Glasgow Queen Street railway station.

Been their the coffee was not hot would not go back

We stopped by for a quick coffee prior to touring. The barista was a bit hurried, but pleasant. The coffee was good. Cappuccino- chocolate powder making a picture of 3 coffee beans Flat white with cream making a flower design Americano We also got tea toast and crumpets. It was all very good.

This place is very inconsistent. Often the coffee is not hot or even warm. The shop is not cleaned regularly enough and the staff turnover is high also, which I suppose is a sign itself.

It's a coffee shop at a TRAIN STATION. People are in a rush to catch trains. So stop with the chatting, learn your basic drinks and for crying out loud prepare the ice before you open up not when there is a queue all the way outside. This is ridiculous.

Visited the costa in central station with my daughter we didn't realise the place closed at 8 w arrived at 7:59 & h doors were unlocked with people waiting in line to be served but we were told quite rudely that they were closed. If the shop was closed a member of staff should have either locked the door or had someone at the door informing them they were closed there was plenty of staff just talking behind the counter not doing anything

Really enjoy the coffee and friendly staff, but recently its been infested with flies absolutely everywhere. So I have started going to Krispy Kreme.

More expensive than costa outside the station and they only serve coffee in the takeaway disposable cups even if you're sitting in. Pleasant staff but overall an avoidable experience in the future. Get real cups back!! Coffee tastes ok though.
