Went to the Mazzoli Italian Kitchen at the Tyneside Tavern today for lunch. We were blown away as everything was fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. We had the lunch special and had haggis and focaccia with garlic mushrooms, then pepperoni pizza. The starters were delicious and highly recommended. The pizzas were perfect. The choice on the lunch special were fantastic, lots to of lovely dishes to choose from. For dessert we had cheesecake of the day, which was toffee. It was to die for!! We couldn't believe how good value for money it was! The staff were all friendly and helpful and we didn't feel rushed at all. The man who served us was super friendly (sorry didn't get his name) , made us feel very welcome! We will definitely be back!

The secret of this fantastic restaurant is definitely the family who runs it.We have spent time over the last 15 years going to the Rocks in Dunbar when Jim was running the show along with James and Jack and now over the last few years James is in charge along with Mark. The new menu which was just in place was great. We had mussels and chicken to start with followed by the pork and duck leg main course.That would have been enough but just had to try a dessert which was selection of ice cream and sorbet and a crème brûlée and coffee.A nice well kept beer went well too.If we didn’t live 200 miles away we would be there most weeks so the round trip will have to be once a month,it’s that good. I had a tuna baguette, was it tuna? Don't know but I know how does it after alf hr I eat it, I vomited as crazy, shame

Where to start. First the elderly lady behind the counter didn't won't to serve us or anyone for that matter, so a man took over. The large breakfast my husband ordered was no bigger than my small one, both breakfast were luke warm, and the drinks barely hot. Apparently they aren't allowed to sell the meals to hot? if this is right they should install a microwave somewhere so the customer can heat there own own meals.

Unfortunately the favoured chicken sizzler has lost our favourite meal spot. I don’t know what they have done but hardly any flavour. Three of us said the same thing. One of our party had loads of mushrooms hardly any peppers or onions. Another one had loads of peppers a few mushrooms and a small amount of onions. I had too many onions two pieces of mushrooms and a few bits of pepper. Service was slow and I couldn’t understand what the young waiter was saying. Don’t think we will be returning any time soon.

First class. Don’t believe the negative reviews. Our experience was quite the opposite. Friendly staff and delicious Italian coffee. Premises very clean and tidy.

You don’t close for 30 minutes, still have customers seated at tables but refuse to sell a takeaway coffee so you don’t have to clean the machine again, shame.

I usually get takeaway cakes or pastries and bread, but it was nice to take the kids and sit in. We all love the food there. The brownies are the best you'll find anywhere. The cruffins are delicious. I recommend the porridge loaf. And the cappacinos. My kids love the croissants, sausage rolls, doughnuts and cardomom buns.

Wee visit to Hugo's Hall's Cafe. Lovely fresh environment and lovely friendly staff. Lovely slice of Victoria sponge and a glass of Irn Bru. Sponge was very yummy 😋

This has got to be the dirtiest Costa I’ve ever been in. Two staff members on. Area at the back was full of tables covered in leftover trays. Crumbs everywhere. Had to move trays out of the way to get a seat. No one clearing up. Costa get your act together. I’m a regular customer but won’t be back to this branch. Get your act together.

Tried to go here to take out a family member for a coffee. There is no disabled access. So therefore we could not go in to look at the shop items or go to the cafe. No help offered either. What a shame!
