This used to be a great restaurant- known for its good food and huge portions. The portions are still big but that’s about it. 1 of the vegetarian options was ‘cauliflower florets with veg on the side’ 😂😂 Went for the feta, halloumi & beetroot salad with toasted walnuts. A huge plateful of warm, wilted salad leaves, way past their best with no dressing at all and a pile of cheese on top. Tasteless and v disappointing. My 2 teenage children had the chicken and haggis which was ‘ok’ chicken very tough, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Haggis was nice but a massive amount of it. The mash was inedible - the most vile thing I have ever seen on a plate, grey and spongy and the veg tasted microwaved so also disgusting. Partner had the only decent meal. Sirloin with chips and onion rings - which he enjoyed hence the 2 stars. The decor is really tired and cold - place needs a good revamp to get back to its glory days, certainly won’t be back in the meantime. Was busy when we there but we definitely weren’t the only table leaving a lot of uneaten food on our plates!

My wife and I have been to this restaurant for the past 20 plus years and have always enjoyed it.however last night 18 August it all changed. I ordered the special bbq ribs unedible under cooked even struggled to cut meat with a knife. Gammon dinner came the meat was cut like cheese wedges very tuff to eat potatoes one fork full was more than enough they were horrible the gravy was nice carrots under cooked.my wife had the Haddock with cheese sauce the sauce had almost split.this was a good restaurant now I would not go back or recommend it .the 2 stars is for the service.avoid .

We booked last minute for dinner as a family of 5. Service was fast and really good! Food was Devine! Best food we’ve had all week. Pub overall is really nice and welcoming! Will definitely be back.

Couldn't fault anything. Warm friendly welcome. We hadn't booked, a table was available. The fish and chips were perfect the chips the best we've had in a long time. Fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. Cheese cake with ice cream was a great end to the meal. Big thank you to all the staff especially the one with pink hair. Highly recommend

My friend and I immediately felt welcomed into the large and airy dining space. Very friendly service all round; our meal choices came promptly and were DELICIOUS and extremely ample. A good choice of dishes from the menu, plus Daily Specials. Prices were acceptable, especially since the meal sizes were substantial. We would definitely visit again. Went here on Sunday with family for lunch which was pleasant enough but experience ruined by loud mouthed manageress screeching at some poor member of staff,we were sat next to kitchen and heard her disgusting screaming which amounted to abuse , it’s a wonder she manages to retain staff with her bullying verbal abuse…… the member of staff was visibly upset then she started on the girl behind the bar….. staff training obviously in short supply and this behaviour shouldn’t be tolerated in today’s workplace… get a grip! Look after your most valuable assets…….

Fantastic lunch, great team, tall male manager really helpful and lovely to talk to (very dashing young man !) had a great time will be returning soon.

Very dissapointed with our visit. Staff off hand, bordering on rude. Starters were good mains not so good. Steak pie came with tinned garden peas! Why? Is it too much trouble to put some frozen peas in boiling water? The tandoori chicken came out thickly coated in tandoori paste, so much that it was unpleasant and had to be scrapped off to make the chicken edible. Cans of soft drink priced at a whopping £2.70 each. Total bill for 4 came to over £100, for lunch I find that a little steep.

Recently came for a family birthday, having visited several times before. Always quite a busy place but no issues with service. Food is really good quality and tasty, great range of choice and generous portion sizes - reasonably priced too. Always a reliable place to come and well recommended!

Great Day out as usual, been to the Inn many times and haven't got a bad thing to say. Staff are great always polite & attentive, we've tried many different selections on the menu and couldn't find fault with anything! Dinners are always great as well as desserts. Was there today for a family celebration (10 of us) not one complaint from anybody all meals were thoroughly enjoyed! 👍 Would Highly recommend 100%.

Always have a lovely meal at the Inn, but yesterday’s lunch was really first class. Not only that, but the lunch time staff were so pleasant, charming and helpful. A really enjoyable and relaxing time.

Went to Longniddry Inn tonight for dinner ( 9 of us) food was excellent everyone enjoyed their meal. Staff were brilliant and would like to say a big thank you to Donna and the rest of the staff for helping my dad when he had a bit of a tumble.

A limited and dated menu. Portion sizing between my meal and that of those in my party were not similar. My son had the lasagne which, for a basic dish, lacked any other flavour than cheap tomato puree. If you are sat out of the main bar the room at the rear has little ambience perhaps due to the piles of chairs stuffed in the corner of the room. Sadly the staff rushed a lot of service with one staff member spilling gravy on my sweater. I would not recommend the Longniddry inn for food.

Visited as a visitor to the local area & like to support local business between Christmas & New Year period. Booked last minute but easily accommodated hardly any customers. Met by an older lady - was NOT warm or welcoming at all just gestured towards a table & walked off. She remained unfriendly throughout. The other server was a younger female who was equally unfriendly, unsmiling and looked bored to death. Food - average at best. Very microwaved- too much cheese on lasagne left it a greasy mess. Sons food was inedible - watery, chewy - it was sent back & was deducted from the bill. Tables left uncleaned nearby despite hardly any customers. Drinks - very overpriced -£3 for a small coke. Overall really disappointing but staff made the experience awful due to their unfriendly & unwelcoming demeanour. We won’t recommend & would not return.

Disappointed. What a change since the last time we were here. We all had the Roast beef dinner . The meat was sliced wafer thin and even at that struggled to cut it . It was really chewy. The four of us left more than half the meat on our plates .Each plate consisted of, one roast potato cut in half ( tasted like the frozen ones ) 3 small Brussel sprouts, 6 thin slices of carrot and about a table spoon of mash potatoes - if that. At £18.95 per person for that is not good . We did tell the waitress and she could see all the meat left on the plates . We were told she would pass it on , nobody came to see us about it ,in fact it was ignored . We had desert and coffees, but not even an offer off coffee on the house because of the main meal disappointment. Won't be going back . Neither will our friends .

Friday night was Christmas party night in the function suite but that didn't hinder the fantastic service and quality of food we received in the bar area. Very busy but every member of staff had time to chat and were very professional and polite. Food was plentiful and of great quality, seemingly you can get half portions if requested as they are big portions. First time visiting and was most impressed, would definitely visit again. Great little find.

Not as I remember it but it’s been years since my last visit. Distinctly average food. Mashed potato was lacking anything like butter or cream in it and was so solid we could have had it in slices. Peas were anaemic (possibly tinned). Puff pastry also very pale. Carrots were tasteless but the steak pie filling was very salty. It wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. The steak pie filling had quite a lot of beef and it was tender. Very generous portion. It was also nice and hot when we got it. Served promptly. Pleasant staff. The place could do with redecorating. Everything about the decor was dull, and tired. The really awful ‘wine bottle” wallpaper added to the dull grubby look. It was all so brown. Our table was quite grubby along the edges and needed a proper clean, as did the paintwork around the window we were sitting next to. And the carpet also looked dull and depressing and possibly needed a clean.

Sauber, freundlich Restaurant mit genug Auto Parking platz. Ein paar erreichbares Tisch ohne Treppen aber die Haupt Bereich hat 6 oder 7 Treppen. Reservieren ist empfahlen aber zwischen 15 bis 17 Uhr ist nicht viel los. Gut Traditionell Pub essen mit Favoriten wie Linsen Suppe, Fish & Chips, Steak pie … Ich wurde definitiv empfehlen.

Went to celebrate my mums 80 th birthday. We hadn’t been for over a year . Lovely warm welcome and the food was just as I remembered. Excellent . We went for lunch and my combo sizzler was just as good as I remembered .

We ate here tonight and our waitress was amazing (sorry didn't get her name) my daughter has an egg allergy and she went above and beyond, great customer service and certainly an asset to the Inn. Our meals were lovely and good value.

I had never been to the Longniddry Inn before but I heard good things about it. I took my family there for lunch to celebrate my mum's birthday. The new beer garden and the staff were nice but the interior is very run down, the toilets were broken and they didn't even bother to put the loo roll in the dispenser which isn't very covid safe, especially for being the first weekend since reopening since lockdown. As for the food, the prawn cocktail starter was drowning in sauce and weirdly served with a slice of bog standard supermarket break that was stale. The deep fried haddock was soggy instead of crispy. The "cauliflower steak" dish was not a cauliflower steak... I was served basically a large plate of chips with a side of grey cauliflower and a couple of onion rings and mushrooms... And to top it off, the sticky toffee pudding was stale too. It was expensive considering the level of the food. Extremely disappointed, first dinner experience since lockdown and what a let down. Will not be back.

Visited for dinner when staying at seton sands holiday park - chose here due to trip advisor reviews.Booked ahead and glad we did as it’s quite a busy place. Staff were polite and friendly without being over intrusive, prices as expected for pub grub style food.Could see the place had plenty of bookings which speaks volumes. Food was served hot and quickly even though it was busy for the staff on shift but this will probably be the new normal as businesses try to make some profit after a difficult year.Would recommend if in the area.

Ate here on Sunday night. It wasn't too busy, we were in the downstairs part. The tables all have screens and spaced out. The food selection was great and the service was really good. Felt really comfortable considering covid.

The food was exceptional not only in taste but in portion sizes and prices too. Couldn’t have wished for a better dining experience in current times. All safety measures adhered too brilliantly. The chicken stuffed with haggis was beautiful. My 2 year old son demolished a child’s chicken dinner which was huge and my partner said the haggis fritters & steak and ale pie was fantastic. We all had puddings too which were very tasty. I only wish we wasn’t on holiday and we lived closer so we could visit more often. We came here on Sunday 20th September for dinner with my elderly gran who has not been out much since March. We have eaten here before and the food has always been lovely and it was the same again this visit. However the law states that only 2 households with up to 6 people may meet up and the tables across from us has 20 split between 3 tables and clearly they were not 6 households only. No facemasks were worn and they were jumping between tables and shaking hands. We are in a pandemic and for the sake of all businesses we need to adhere to the rules. I just wish staff said something to them but nothing was said at all. I felt sorry for the younger staff members who felt lost but management never stepped in once. We are disappointed at feeling uncomfortable with my gran.

Friday evening dinner visit. We booked a table for two for a Friday evening. Staff we nice and friendly, with Covid protection in place in the form of dividers in between each table. The menu choice was good however limited for vegetarians. We had a prawn cocktail to start with breaded Brie. After ordering the waitress returned as my first choice wasn’t available. I opted for the chicken sizzler instead of the salmon sizzler. Both meals were just ok. I wouldn’t be in a rush to return food wise but again the staff were lovely and efficient :)

Popped in here after a game of golf round the corner. We couldn't just have a drink as COVID measures were in place, so we had a table and ordered some food.Food was excellent, as were the staff who accommodated us without any issue despite us not booking. Would highly recommend eating here, very reasonable prices and a good selection for all types.

Had the fish cakes with a leek and cheese sauce for my starter on Friday night - the best fish cakes I have ever tasted. Filled with lots of fish , very tasty and a generous portion. I followed this with the Salmon sizzler which was also delicious. Once again the food was delicious and fantastic service from the staff. Great safety measures in place.

We come for the 1st time as we have just moved into the area and the experience was not good at all. The food was cold and bland but I have to say the staff were fantastic. We will give the place a try again as we hope it was just a 1 off.

Took my elderly parents and friend ( who are locals) here for lunch whilst I was up on holiday , my parents had been 2 weeks previously and really enjoyed it , so after reading the reviews we were looking forward to it , unfortunately I was really disappointed , the fish and chips was average at best , the chips were terrible looked and tasted like oven chips . I Will definitely not return . The only positive was the lovely staff.

Visited one of our favourite local restaurants for lunch today. Haven’t been keen to eat out due to COVID 19, but felt well protected. Safety measures excellent, and didn’t stop us enjoying lunch with the usual great service and wonderful food. Good to be able to visit here again.

We called up on our way back from a trip to Dunbar and delighted to get a table for 2. I have been anxious of eating out during Covid-19 but was very reassured by the measures put in place. Hand sanitiser on entry and lots of temporary screening between tables for protection. Staff asked us to remove our own drinks, cutlery and condiments from the tray so they didn’t have to handle them. The only thing I would say would have been hand sanitiser present when having to input my PIN number into the payment machine, I had my own so all good. The food here is amazing! I had minestrone soup and my husband haggis fritters for starters and fish & chips and chicken balmoral first mains all delicious. We always have a fantastic meal here and delighted to see all the safety measures in place.

Having read previous reviews we were really looking forward to eating here however I left disappointed, food was average and overpriced. My steak pie was dry and was lacking a jug of gravy and I'm pretty sure my son's pizza on the children's menu was a dead ringer for a Chicago town pizza, it certainly had the same look and taste. Daughter's fish and chips looked the best out of all our meals. Hubby had steak and said it was average. Can't fault the staff however, friendly and the pub itself is beautiful. Can't help but feeling with a bit more attention to detail it could be decent pub grub.

As a local Ive been in and out the inn since the late 80s. The current set up is good. Reservations easily taken and food has always been large portioned and tasty. Staff quick to respond.They organised a funeral tea for my family this week- Alan and team were professional and worked very hard to keep everything within regulations.The haggis is the best- dont live in the Uk anymore and I always stop by a few times. Glad Longniddry Inn has reopened. Tables are separated by dividers so feels secure. Staff are efficient as usual and service was quick. Meal was lovely as usual the chicken sizzler was excellent. Please can you upgrade chips as they are the only downside of great food and service. We normally have party of 6 and they have all said the same regarding the chips. Not the best quality and have complained about them on previous reviews. Ask Thurston Manor (Dunbar) restaurant where they get theirs as they are great.

Went back to the Longniddry Inn again for a evening meal with my partner for their Birthday on Monday night. My partner had the Lasagne al forno and i had the Steak & Ale Pie both where excellent.

Had another great meal last night with friends, great service and food absolutely first class, definitely worth a visit and cannot wait to go back again.

We went with our Family on Friday and it was really busy, but the service was really good. We all enjoyed our food. The Haggis was good, and the sauce was amazing. We were all so full we could not have a sweet.

We stopped for lunch the day before Christmas Eve, on our way to visit our daughter in North Berwick.The restaurant was extremely busy, but even though we hadn’t booked, a table was quickly found for us.The staff are friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple of beers (IPA) while we looked at the menu and it was very good, well kept and bright.The menu itself gave plenty of choices. My husband had the fish and chips and I chose the Natchos from the starter menu, with the optional portion of chilli con carne. Both were delicious and really good portions.The Longniddry Inn is decorated in a traditional style, with some contemporary twists. It’s very comfortable, with spotless loos, which for me speaks volumes about how much the staff care about their customers.

A lovely, friendly place to eat. Service was wonderful, very polite and courteous waiter. My meal was beautiful, and my family thoroughly enjoyed their meals.Its brilliant value for money, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

I've previously written a negative review about this restaurant. However, I always give the benefit of the doubt and try to visit a second time to see if there are improvements in the standards of the service and food.

Had a beautiful meal here tonight. They catered well for gluten free. The prawn cocktail was very nice served with gluten free bread.

Had another lovely meal at Longniddry Inn. The chicken sizzler was delicious. The only downside of the meal is the quality of the chips. They are ok but feel they could be better. Might be something management could look at in the future. Service was great as usual.

Lots of parking... warm friendly atmosphere and staff. Lovely interior... amazing chef!! Never disappoints... a must try. Prices very reasonable.

Staff at Drummohr Holiday Park suggested we try this place to eat. Very friendly efficient staff, and clientele! Clearly a lot of regulars, and that has to be down to the excellent menu. Food was well presented and absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere too. Will be back next time we are in area. Great recommendation!!

Visited the Longniddry Inn again last night, absolutely great meal as always, great staff, great service and food wonderful, always worth a visit.

What can I say from Kevin who helped us with all the booking and run up, to Donna who decorated our hall so beautifully, to Alan and his other servers who served us so professionally and flawlessly to the absolutely gorgeous yummy food we had an utterly perfect wedding reception!

Went for lunch here today with my aunty have to say was a very pleasant lunch we had soup ( mushrooms) and pate for starter then the steak sandwich which was excellent steak melted in mouth and caramelised onions yum yum delicious definitely recommend and would definitely return

9 of us had a family meal tonight and the food was fantastic however, we were seated next to a door and we noticed the door frame had about a dozen flies on it and the odd one kept flying about our table. I spoke to a lady think she was a manageress maybe as she wore a white blouse and told her she should check the door as it wasnt nice eating our food with all these flies going about. She didn't seem bothered at all and replied its because we're near the fields!!! Can't believe this was her answer.

We visited here last monday evening and it was quite busy but we were seated straight away and our drinks were served really fast . My mother in law ordered the tatties,neeps and haggis with a creamy whisky sauce and the missus and I both ordered the chicken sizzle. Wow !! The three of us loved everything ,the presentation, taste and portions. The staff were really friendly without being too intrusive and I would definitely recommend the longniddery inn to anyone . We finished our meals off with cocktails on the patio outside .will definitely be back . The three meals ,a bottle of kopperberg,a pint ,a lemonade and three cocktails cost just under £60 . Totally bargain for what you get . We were staying at seton sands holiday park so just got taxis there and back .,Fantastic evening in fantastic surroundings

Really enjoyed a late afternoon meal with family. The menu was extensive and all meals were really tasty with generous portion sizes. Looked like it had recently been refurbished and the decor was nice. Definitely worth another visit.

We just had a quick stop in this restaurant on our way from the beach. My partner had a burger and I had lasagna with garlic bread. My partner said that burger wasn't that bad however, my lasagna was the worse I have ever had. No flavour, no salt, pepper etc. Pasta overcooked. We also ordered a portion of chips - £2.5 for a small bowl and not even tasted good. Have no idea how pub can't even cook chips!

Wow what a difference an renovation makes!!

The food here was great, very homely good portion sizes and freshly made. Service was excellent also.

We enjoyed our first visit for late lunch. Friends with us had been for meals numerous times and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent and the food hot and well presented. We had four different meals and we all enjoyed them. Will definitely be returning.

On our recent visit we were sat in an open doorway which lead directly onto the main street. Given that the place was half empty & we were unable to get the attention of the staff & not feeling the love for the traffic noise or the draft blowing through the door, we moved to another table. We were told by the floor manager that our table was taken. I say floor manager, the way she behaves perhaps she owns the establishment! Needless to say we were not invited to sit at another table, so we took the hint & left.

We each had the Combo sizzler which was very good. Slices of strip steak, onions, pepper, sweet chilies, chicken, onion rings and fries. It was plenty of food and moderately priced. Nice atmosphere and okay service. It was busy, even for a Tuesday night. We had to wait about 15 mins for a table at 7pm.
