Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!

The food and drinks were excellent cooked exactly to order. The café is compact with 4 tables for 2 so space is tight for such a busy concern. We have no objection to the presence of dogs however a large boisterous puppy isn’t an ideal dining companion. It’s a shame that our experience was tainted hence the 3/5 instead of 5/5 star rating as would have otherwise scored. Please note no offence is intended

Came across this little cafe while stopping after a work meeting and so glad we did! Such great value for a large roll with filling of choice and was enchanted to be served tea in a real China teacup and saucer! Friendly service too thank you will definitely return when in the area!

Das Restaurant liegt direkt im The Mallard Hotel. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber und eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und Weinen rundeten den Abend ab. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Five stars for the product ! The pastries and bread are fabulous , if you like an acidic bean coffee you’ll like the coffee , not to my taste . but that’s just me. No atmosphere to speak of. They have signs up to ask customers to not touch the produce and wait to be served. That’s absolutely fine, however they open the paper bags with their hands ( sticking their hands right inside the bags) instead of using tongs ( food handling 101) and don’t use tongs at all for the bread . Even if their hands are clean it’s about perception. They jump on people who accidentally pick up the bread , one woman looked very uncomfortable when she was told off . When I asked the staff member not to use her hands to open the bags ( defeats purpose of using tongs to pop pastries into bag) she threw the bag down and rolled her eyes, and was very rude. The staff need some food hygiene and customer service training . We ate-in both times and also took things away. We won’t go back tomorrow because of the attitude of this staff member . Over two days we spent £41 Loved, loved the food

THE best coffee in East Lothian! Served by 2 lovely young lads, Daniel and Richard. Had a tasty toastie with crisps on side. Very reasonable price. Sitting outdoors in the sun in this quiet village. Service was amazing, very friendly. Highly recommend!!

This has got to be the dirtiest Costa I’ve ever been in. Two staff members on. Area at the back was full of tables covered in leftover trays. Crumbs everywhere. Had to move trays out of the way to get a seat. No one clearing up. Costa get your act together. I’m a regular customer but won’t be back to this branch. Get your act together.

Tried to go here to take out a family member for a coffee. There is no disabled access. So therefore we could not go in to look at the shop items or go to the cafe. No help offered either. What a shame!
