THE best coffee in East Lothian! Served by 2 lovely young lads, Daniel and Richard. Had a tasty toastie with crisps on side. Very reasonable price. Sitting outdoors in the sun in this quiet village. Service was amazing, very friendly. Highly recommend!!

Stopped by for lunch today after driving by many times. Very small savoury menu of various toasties, which we ordered. Served with crisps and were very nice. Also got coffee, a cake and ice-cream. Everything was great. Didn't find it extortionate as other reviews said. In fact commented on how cheap the toasties must have been. The two guys working there were lovely and friendly. It was a busier day with the Direleton Fair on and they handed it well. Plenty of seating with 4 or 5 tables inside and lots of outdoor space for a nice day. Will stop by again.

I thought it would be hard to mess up a toasted sandwich. I was wrong, this place found it easy. Terrible toastie - do not stop here keep driving!

Sunday 31st March, purchased 1 single scoop cone & 1 double scoop cone - cost over £8. What a rip off this place is for ice cream. Lucas ice cream is by far the best in East Lothian but they should be absolutely ashamed to be associated with Amalfi. Buyers beware - this cafe charge an extortionate price per scoop whilst trying to give you as little ice cream as possible. The boy who served us used a standard scoop to get a what started as a fairly small ball of ice cream anyway then spent twice as long scraping ice cream away to leave the smallest ice cream scoop I’ve ever seen. We also asked for a two scoop cone for which he suggested getting the larger waffle cone for - I wish I hadn’t bothered because the scoops just dropped down into the cone - there was no ice cream visible above the cone & it could not be reached without a spoon. I do not mind paying a bit more for a treat on a day out but this was just an absolute joke. We all know businesses need to put their prices up to cover increasing costs but businesses should also treat their customers fairly and give them reasonable value for money rather than trying to give as little as possible. I will certainly never buy ice cream from this place again & I would advise anyone who wants Lucas ice cream - a fair amount for a fair price - go to Lucas in Musselburgh. Or if you just want ice cream nearby go down to Mr Whippys van at Yellowcraigs - he is fairly priced & you get a decent ice cream for your money.

Winding down a holiday break in North Berwick was told about this cafe just a couple of miles away. Dirleton is a quiet little village off the main road with a castle worth visiting as is Amalfi. Seating both inside and outside and dog friendly. Small selection of toasties and sandwiches, Lavazza coffee and Luca’s ice cream. All very clean, tidy and comparatively inexpensive compared to fare in North Berwick. It’s also close toYellowcraigs Beach.

On the road to Edinburgh, just north of North Berwick is the village of Dirleton, and as you enter the village is Amalfi, an unassuming little cafe with coffee, cake, sandwiches and hot snacks served throughout the day. We visited twice but, if you want a 'pit stop' break you will be made more than welcome in very clean, safe & friendly family run business...and the banter is canny as well!

Called for ice cream/coffee and thoroughly enjoyed both. Returned a couple of days later as we were staying locally and enjoyed it so much. Friendly and efficient service. Would highly recommend.

We called in because of a recommendation, and it was worth the visit. The view was beautiful - it is in a shipping container that has had windows put in, and it overlooks the sea and Bass Rock. The staff were nice, and when i mentioned needing a cushion due to back issues, they helped accommodate me really well, and it was greatly appreciated. The food was nice and came in good time

We visited Lucas on Sun 25 Aug and 30 Aug frequently attend here on both occasions I had to return my main course as they were both barely warm 1 was pizza the other mushroom pasta the waitress was apologetic and said this would get heated up in the microwave. Another couple who were sitting at the next table had to wait an eternity for their meals we had our main course & our dessert before the couples meal arrived as they had already asked waitress where it was and was told kitchen was busy the couple had been more than patient. I am unsure if the chef has been changed the food seems to be not to the usual standard. Not once has the waitresses when having your meal if everything is ok! This should come as standard.. very disappointed. Therefore after another disappointing visit today it will be sone considerable tine or not at all when we will be back.

The Crown and Kitchen in East Linton had good trip advisor reviews, so we decided to stay for 1 night on our journey to eastern Scotland. Although there is no car park, there was plenty of on street unlimited parking near to the Inn. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were shown to our beautiful contemporary room by a very helpful member of staff. Rooms are next door to the bar area, and so quiet. There was a wide choice of dishes for dinner, including fish and vegetarian options. Breakfast was very good. There were fresh berries and yoghurt and a range of cereals, as well as cooked options. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the whole place was well cared for, light and welcoming. We will stay again when we are in the area, and can recommend it without hesitation.

Passed this Cafe several times and always wanted to give it a try, definitely be the first and last, was a bit surprised to see no prices on display but ordered 2 breakfast rolls 2 coffees and scones anyway, the price at the time I thought was rather steep but just let it go, but just been on my online banking and noticed had been charged even more than was told , just does not justify at all what was bought and the quality did not justify the price either have tasted better, very disappointing

Excellent coffee ground and prepared by folk who clearly know their beans. Quirky stylish interior and courtyard outside area. Great snacks.
