Such a cosy, welcoming haven in the hills! Unexpectedly came for lunch after breaking down on the way up north, what a pleasant surprise! Delicious, fine dining at pub prices, gorgeous terrace to enjoy pints in the sun, and the most genuinely friendly staff. Felt immediately at home, and they even sorted us out with a discounted room last minute. Lovely place, definitely worth a visit!

We had the best experience here! Cozy atmosphere, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and great food. Our dogs were absolutely pampered with treats, and we very much enjoyed our toasties and soup!

Bar, me lo pasé genial... el personal del bar es impactante. Sentado en el bar y uno de los empleados decidió que tenían un problema con una de las personas con las que estábamos... y cuando le pregunté quién pensaba que había bebido demasiado... el personal del bar se negó a decir mientras decía ‘era solo uno de nosotros con el que tenía un problema’ Salimos del bar y fuimos a Miraki... el bar de cócteles de primera clase 2 puertas abajo donde nadie tenía ningún problema y es cualquiera de nosotros... Así que el problema era que el personal del bar tenía un problema sin ninguna razón Esperemos que los dueños traten con el pobre nivel de personal del bar... Porque el bar es un gran lugar para ir a

Popped in to meet a friend for brunch and had a roll with poached egg and potato scone and cuppa tea. Both perfect as was service and atmosphere. Spoke to Mr Cisco who is 96 today and wished him happy birthday and said he's amazing for age

Visited yesterday with family for a surprise birthday meal. Was left very disappointed. Food wasn’t the best & certainly not for the price we paid. Broccoli was practically raw, mushrooms were solid, the chicken ecosse was missing its bacon, chicken was over cooked badly. Ordered a round of alcoholic drinks, got served a jack & coke, so made server aware who was lovely couldn’t be anymore apologetic & helpful. Asked another family member if they had got there jack & coke or whether it was a vodka & coke (may have just ended up wrong ends of the table) when a very rude female member of staff butted in & told me in a very rude manner that it was in fact a jack and coke he had as it was her that made the drink. I explained the situation & that we had already spoke to another member who was rectifying the mix up. To which she got an attitude & abruptly said “NO it’s fine I’ll make it myself” Do not recommend at all especially not at £90 for 2 starters, 2 mains, kids meal, 1 desert & 6 drinks (2 of which were alcoholic) As someone who works in a pub, I know how easy it can be to mix up drinks especially in big orders, however, I would never ever dream of speaking to a customer the was she spoke to myself & my family last night.

A real “hidden gem”. I’m so impressed with the quality of the food here. It looks as though the business is up for sale and it would be a real shame to lose it from the high street. I hope whoever takes it on keeps the authentic, quality ingredients and friendly service. We’ll certainly be back!

Really impressed with the coffee and it's a very popular and busy place. Lovely food but a tad on the expensive side for what it is and what's on offer but very tasty and filling.

We only popped in for one drink but ended up spending the whole afternoon here. Had a great time. Nice people behind the bar and would definitely recommend the pies.

Stopped of at " THE POTTERY SHOP " Cafe for a bowl of soup on our drive home from Dunoon to Dunfermline. What a gem of a cafe. My husband chose home made tomato soup with a generous portion of bread & butter ( £6 ) I couldn't resist ordering home made macaroni cheese & a side of the best home made proper chips I have tasted since I was a child. ( none of the usual freezer to fryer chips ). Mac & cheese was SO deliciously cheesy , creamy & scrumptious. It was served with a lovely greek style chunky salad of cucumber, fresh tomato, red pepper and red onion. The cakes available were all home made and looked delicious. I was just too full to eat one. I wish I had thought to take photos to add to this review. We were so delighted with our lunch, the cafe and the owner. Not to forget the pottery , jewellery, art work and cards available. We don't drive this road often....but I will definitely return in future. In fact the owner says that they also serve food some evenings. Cafe has only been under his management for 8 months. Opté por el desayuno vegano, pero pedí añadir un huevo escalfado. ¡No hay problema! Precioso aguacate fresco, generoso houmous, sabrosos haggis vegetales y salchichas y el huevo se cocinó a la perfección. Mi compañero disfrutó de sus salchichas vegetales desayuno bap. Prepárenos para un día explorando el castillo de Doune y Dumblane antes de regresar a Stirling. El amable servicio del personal hizo de este un buen comienzo del día. Gracias Vera.

First visit for me. And no idea why I waited so long. Food was top notch. My wife had the roast duck, whilst I had the roast venison. Both dished cooked to perfection.

Not a bad place. The food was very nice, service was good. Clean and tidy. Good location.
