We only popped in for one drink but ended up spending the whole afternoon here. Had a great time. Nice people behind the bar and would definitely recommend the pies.

Well, I went to Dunblane for the Grand Day at Queen Victoria School. There were no Taxis from the Station. Went into THE DUNBLANE to enquire about Taxis. The proprietor of the Pub very kindly offered to transport myself and my lady friend to QV SCHOOL to attend the Function. We accepted the offer. What a God send. She also very kindly asked us to call her at the end of the Function.....to transport us back to the Station. We accepted the offer. I was absolutely GOB SMACKED by this HOSPITALITY.....OUT OF THIS WORLD!! WORLD CLASS SERVICE AND MORE!! THANKYOU. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.....FANTASTIC. Regards, Ronnie Weir. Lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.

My family had dinner and drinks here last night. Great wee place the food was excellent and the service first class they couldn’t do enough for us. We had 2 dogs with us and they put us in the top dining room so we could shut the doors and let the dogs roam around. The price was very reasonable compared with other places we had eaten in. We will be back next time we’re in Dunblane

The board says “families welcome” I sat in the beer garden which is few tables on tarmac, hubby and daughter go to order 3 drinks, a John smiths, pint of water and a bottle lager. I have our 5 month old grandson in the pushchair outside. A waiter comes over asks if I was ok, I said fine just waiting for a drink, he then explained that we were not allowed in the premises or garden unless we ordered a adult meal each! I told him we were not hungry and just wanted a drink, hubby was at bar they had pulled his John smiths and opened our daughters bottle, the waiter went and asked the chef what the rules were, and told us we had to leave because we didn’t want a meal. Absolute BALONY. We had already eaten, just didn’t make sense. Will not be back above your drinks where the sun don’t shine.

3 starters, 4 mains, 2 pints, 2 coffees and 2 soft drinks for £60 and the food was excellent. Plus they had some decent GF options. Service was under par but the lad was still training, so yet to find his feet. There's a large beer garden at the side (in what looks to have been their car park?) and another through the pub and downstairs. Would definitely return

I recently went to this pub and was pleasantly surprised. The new landlady is doing a great job rebuilding this establishment with good beer, great food and good criac! I never used to eat out much, but have had about 10 meals here over the past month. Every meal has been finger-licking good, even plate-licking good! I can't recommend this place enough.

Ordered schiehallion beer which was terrible. Vinegar taste. Couldn't drink it. To be fair they never charged me when I complained. Toasted sandwich was ok. I watched the barmaid trying to rescue a pint of Guinness by removing the head with a straw. I can imagine it tasted as good as my schiehallion vinegar

I have stayed at the Dunblane Hotel on 4 previous occasions always in November, the last time was two years ago, in a single room the charge was reasonable at £35 per night. I have just been told that this year it is £70 per night, my stay is to be 3 nights £210. The room was always clean, the shower and toilet was down one short flight of stairs, one has to slide across the bed to get to the wash basin. For the same 3 nights the 4 star Dunblane Hydro hotel the charge is £162 with En suite.

TLDR: the food wasn't bad, but it certainly didn't live up to the price tag and too many things were predominantly sweet. Stopped in for dinner while on vacation after browsing a couple other nearby spots for food. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either and really didn't live up to the price tag. The haggis bon-bons as a starter were just okay. Not much flavor to them and a pinch of salt would've gone a long way. The menu looked great, and my lady opted to make a meal of a couple appetizers (the shrimp cocktail and the scotch egg), while I ordered the pan-seared duck breast. The shrimp cocktail was not what we expected. The shrimp were the super tiny variety common to freezer bags, not plump and fresh. Honestly it all just tasted like mayonnaise. The scotch egg was another under seasoned item and it was served with a chili sauce that was pretty sweet. If you're familiar with the Panda Express in the US (Chinese fast food), it tasted just like their sauce. It just didn't quite pair well and ate overly sweet. The duck breast, sadly was just not great, primarily due to the cook on the duck itself. It was weird - the skin side needed more time in the pan as the fat has just a wee bit more rendering needed - but the meat of the breast was overcooked. I typically don't mind if my duck is medium, but this was verging on well-done. But it was really the sauce that turned me off, as again it ate really sweet. I understand it was an orange sauce and a little sweetness is fine, but this tasted and had a mouthfeel more like orange syrup than a well-reduced jus with orange, as there was virtually no citrusy aspect that one might find in say a duck a l'orange. I will say that the service staff was very friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for drinks at any point and the food arrived in good time. But, as with the theme of the meal, my lady ordered a Glenlivet old fashioned - which neither of us were expecting to be sweet, but it very much so ended up almost too sweet to drink. I don't mean to nitpick and we certainly do love our sweets - but not when they're misplaced. So sadly this missed the mark for us, but I'm hoping that we just were in on an off-night. Again, not bad, and I'd still say to pop in - but just wanted to make this review in case it's helpful to anyone.

Very friendly and helpful staff, took plenty of time to explain about all the beers and were offered tasters of any beers we were interested in drinking, there was a great beer selection. Building was clean and tidy, music was excellent. Menus were well displayed.although we didn’t eat the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great.
