Dave and Kayleigh are the new owners. I was recently given 2 x £75 vouchers for their previous pub , the Crown at Upton and I booked a meal for my birthday on 23rd Sept 23. They also told me I had to pay a £200 deposit for own of their outdoor dining units, totalling £350. They then closed the pub and moved to the Plough whilst not contacting me and owing the money. Dave is still trading as Bemyfood.ltd. When I contacted them, and challenged them with this, kayleigh informed me that it is now her business. However, she is not listed as a director on companies house so they have scammed me , a customer, out of £350. Watch your cash people!!!!!

After looking at the online menu ( which had been posted 4 days before) to make sure they had vegetarian options we booked our table and arrived on time. I quickly noticed the menu was completely different to the online one and the vegetarian option was gone. One of our ladies asked the younger male waiter if he thought the chef would do fish and chips, he very quickly said ‘no he hasn’t go any, menu online is posted by the brewery it’s nothing to do with us’ the other vegetarian option was also missing from the menu so I had had to have a bowl of chips ( which were only half cooked). Another from our party asked if she could have Whitebait as a main meal ‘yes’ was the reply. When the Whitebait came out it was a starter, very small portion, on a few letter leaves with no bread and butter! I politely mentioned to the younger male that is was meant to be a main and he just shrugged his shoulders and said ‘that’s how it came out’ and casually walked away, it was a relief as the whitebait had fishy smell from across the table and caused a bad stomach during the night. The other two meals consisted of Burgers which were extremely thick, very dry and compact and only tasted of pepper. Any chips were barely cooked but as the waiter seemed to have a no approach ora we ate our food. We then had to leave the restaurant table to collect our own sweet menus as the young waiter evaded eye contact every time he attended the table of four men sat next to us. Sweets arrived ( would be incredibly surprised if they were made fresh or even in the establishment) the Tart had been microwaved as the pastry was slightly soggy and the cheesecake had not been cut it was a individual portion which screams bought in frozen. One of our party had to leave the table for the second time to go and ask for the bill. While we were paying,( the much nicer older gentleman came to the table) a lady from our party noticed the younger male waiter was sat at the bar with what appeared to be kitchen staff looking over at us talking and laughing, not once but the whole time. This can only come across as unpleasant, unprofessional and extremely childish. The younger of the two waiters definitely needs to work behind the scenes as his has a very limited charm which would be best used out of the way of paying customers.

Love this pub. It's the best pub in Marlborough. The locals are friendly as are all the bar staff and you are immediately made to feel welcome. It's got a good selection of beers and if you're hungry the café in the courtyard is excellent for breakfast and lunch. I can't fault this pub.

I was looking for short notice Sunday lunch for 4 and as our friends were staying here we decided it was the right place. We have Sunday lunch often and would have chosen somewhere out of town if they hadn't have been booked up. I was not impressed with the offering here. It was OK but knowing what I could have been served elsewhere I was disappointed. Not enough meat. Everything was already on the plate...I would expect a big dish of steaming veg separately....but no...just 1 floret of broccoli I slice parsnip.a few bits of carrot. Not what I expected and to be honest....a bit embarrassing as I was treating them. Sorry. We often stop by door coffee and cake but won't be having Sunday Lunch again.

Visited Marlborough for the day and popped in for a coffee! We were greeted with quick, friendly service and were excited about the range of pastries we got to choose from! We were very impressed with the cleanliness and style of the cafe and would absolutely love to return here when we’re down again!

Very poor service we were not allowed to order the afternoon tea as e we’re twenty minutes to early yet our food took an hour to arrive then we ended up not only did they bring the starters but also the mains all at the same time!!! Not good We took our cakes with us but they were sweet and sticky and not homemade and very overpriced As we spent well over a hundred pound in their I expected better unfortunatly I’m not sure I’d come back

We popped in here for a snack on Saturday, mostly as it was the first cafe we passed with indoor seating! There was a decent menu for light lunches and snacks which suited us fine. Service, both at the till and clearing the tables, was lovely - nicely spoken, polite and efficient. The sausage baps were lovely, nice tang with the brioche bun and my granddaughter demolished the entire chocolate brownie with none left for me so I guess that's a recommendation too! Nice inside with plenty of space between tables and tasteful decor. A pleasant visit.
